I would like to thank NetGalley for this eARC in exchange for my honest opinion.

This book moves lightning fast. The action begins almost immediately, and continues throughout. This is a tiny book, clocking in around 166 pages, so it reads really quickly. I feel like some people will enjoy the speed with which they can move through the book, but the lack of length detracts from being able to really build the characters. Our FMC is a former military bombs expert and she's crushing hard on the (originally unbeknownst to her) actual hitman next door. When a hit is taken out on her, he kidnaps her to keep her safe, while they figure out what to do about the contract and the other hitman. Their attraction and intimacy is immediate, which feels farfetched even for a book about falling for a hitman. But, even with the utter impossibility and ridiculousness of the plot, I found this book to be quite funny. The banter between characters is playful, and I actually quite enjoyed reading it.

Very cute and funny story. Elieen enjoys watching her neighbor dance and strut around his house naked, or scantily clad. She has been spying on him with her drones for the past year. She even bought a Christmas present for him.

She finds out that he is a hitman on the one day she decides to drop off his Christmas present. She knocks on the door; he answers the door after a few gunshots are heard from inside the home. He is a hitman and is currently in the process of torturing a seral rapist / child molester. She is shocked that he in the process of killing someone but doesn't call the police. She reasons that by killing the scumbag he is saving women and children from being tortured.

A week goes by before she sees him again.... she has been wondering why he did not return to the house. Her moral code has been nagging her about not killing the rapist - but she too has killed people when she was in the Marines overseas.

He learns of a hit placed on Elien and wants to protect her at all costs. He winds up kidnapping her to keep her safe until his family and he are able to find out who is after her. What happens after she wakes up on his boat in the Atlantic Ocean is a comedy of errors on both their parts.

I dont wast to spoil the readers joy - so no more spoilers.

This was my first ever book by this author but the blurb was intriguing so I gave it a shot and I'm glad I did. Novellas are always a little tricky and while this did have some insta-love-y aspects to it, the banter and the suspense aspect made up for it. My only complaint is that for being such a short story, there were a lot of side characters who were obviously from her other books. I'm sure I would have liked it had I read those books, but not knowing them kind of took away from my experience.

This book was a little bit Romance and a little bit Suspense with tons of laughs thrown in. The characters were likeable and full of fun that made you want to turn those pages to find out happens to them in the end. Elliana is an ex-marine and now owns her own company with two other fellow marines. Elliana has started to spy on her sexy neighbor, Theo and watching him through her drone. Theo seems to be enjoying it and gives Elliana a show every time. When Elliana brings him over a Christmas gift that is when the fun begins. We throw in a about to be dead body, a contract to kill Elliana and much more to keep you reading Pick up a copy and find out if romance is in the air between Elliana and Theo and solve who is trying to kill Elliana Thank you to Netgalley and the publishers for providing an advanced reader’s copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Usually I’m not a big fan of action combined with romance because often the one isn’t coherent with the other but in this case it was fun and added to the plot. It was a cute quick fun read. I wouldn’t mind a Theo as my neighbor who leaves his blinds open 🫢

Thank you to Katie Reus, KR Press and NetGalley for an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

Elliana is an ex marine and explosive expert who we first heard about in Protecting Rebel. She uses her drone to spy on her neighbor and they have a mutual relationship from afar, but when she finally goes over to say hello in person, she walks into a murder scene.

I thought the premise of this book was so unique and I had a blast reading it. I love Elliana and felt like she was a well developed character. I could understand her personality and while other people might think she is weird, she is unapologetically herself and pretty awesome. Theo was the perfect amount of morally grey for me, but also a goner for Elliana and a protector through and through. They had great banter. The story was funny, witty and had the perfect amount of holiday cheer.

This is Katie Reus at her finest. I would absolutely recommend and if any more books about other hitmen come out then I will be reading those as well.

A Christmas romance that is both sexy and fun !

I knew Katie Reus through her series with dragons that I really liked and so I was curious to see what it would be like with such a gripping summary : Christmas romance and hitman =D

And I loved it !

The story is so fun (the first "real" meet xD), with main characters who are endearing and badass (I loved the fact that the heroine is an expert in explosives) while being so much fun (I love the hero's family =D) and the plot was great !

I would have loved the book to be longer (especially with a confrontation with the heroine's family !) but I have to admit, I'm especially looking forward to having other books (especially with Dante =))

In short, a light and fun romance perfect for Christmas times or even before !

I been patiently awaiting Elliana's story since she was introduced in Protecting Rebel (under the Red Stone Security series). I am also a sucker for a holiday romance book! Elliana - an ex-marine and explosive expert - uses a drone to spy on her hot neighbor Theo. Theo - in returns - doesn't mind be undressed when Elliana's drone is nearby. This back-and-forth distant flirting game continues until Elliana accidently discovers Theo is a hitman. Not only is he a hitman, he comes from a line of hitman. Shocked, Elliana wants nothing to do with him or his inflatable holiday decor. When a hit comes out on Elliana, Theo takes matters into his own hands to protect his neighbor while trying to prove to Elliana that the two of them together are a 'hit'.

Reus always does a great job building suspense with twists and turns that keep you reading to the last page!

Elliana, an ex-marine, and part owner of a security company, hates Christmas. When her hot neighbor begins to decorate her yard, she confronts him. Once outside Theo drugs her and kidnaps her taking her to his yacht. They have been attracted to each other even though never being introduced. Theo knows there is a hit out on Elliana and will protect her to great ends. Theo is a hit man himself and so are his parents and best friends. It was fun seeing how their lives work when bad people are eliminated. I enjoyed the mystery of who was out to get Elliana and how thorough Theo could be. Lots of romance and intrigue. Theo’s wonderful family adds a lot to this story. Great characters and story.

Elliana & Theo’s quick romance was quirky and funny, even with his occupation and her troubles. Swift read but light hearted with plenty of chemistry.

I started reading this book, and I literally cannot put it down until I finished it! It was such a fun ride! It’s a story about two weirdos finding each other. Elliana has been stalking her neighbor for the past year, watching him with her drone and binoculars. But is it really stalking if her neighbor knows and has been making sure to give her a show each time? She’s finally decided to introduce herself when she walks in on him in the process of killing someone. What’s a woman to do? This book was so fun and completely hot and hilarious. I loved it!! I want to thank NetGalley and KR Press LLC for an advance reader copy of “How the Hitman Stole Christmas”. The honest opinions are mine alone.

This was the right book at the right time for me and I really enjoyed it.
I’d just finished a difficult read and was struggling to move on. This was a refreshing Christmas romance.

So basically Elliana is an ex-marine. An explosives expect who uses a drone to spy on her sexy next door neighbour.
Theo said neighbour is a hitman. He also appears to be allergic to clothes. Definitely shirts.

Like I said I really enjoyed this one. It had humour, murder, mystery and some heat.
Who could ask for more?

Not often do you get a story where the heroine is the grumpy one! This was such a delight to read from beginning to end. I laughed so many times and I loved both these characters so much! Watching Eliana soften and fall in love with Theo and Christmas was such a treat. This is a 5+start read in one-sitting book for me!

A quirky, sexy, funny story about two neighbors who have very little information on the other but they want more. Read their stories Herr.

This was a short read with snappy, sassy dialog and hot, spicy attraction (Adult rated). It has very little to do with Christmas aside from the season. It’s set during the holidays in Miami where everyone is gorgeous and rich. An unsuspecting former Marine explosives expert doesn’t realize she’s seriously angered somebody. She also hasn’t realized that the hunk next door she’s been spying on is a hitman. The action quickly escalates as they attempt to determine who has a grudge big enough to want her killed. It’s explosive in the bedroom and on the run from a killer. Who’s put out a hit on her, why, and can the next-door hot guy protect her? Quite a steamy mystery!

How the Hitman Stole Christmas
Katie hit the mark with this laugh out loud witty romance with a twist of danger and suspense. Theo and Elliana were a great couple if unconventional in both their respective jobs and the unfolding of their burgeoning relationship. As trouble erupts, Theo’s delightful parents don’t hesitate to also wade into the fray in an attempt to help save the day all in the Nick of time.

It's rare that I laugh out loud multiple times while reading, especially a romance book, but that's exactly what I did throughout the entire book. A unique and intriguing story with small twists and turns I truly didn't see coming. Elliana and Theo are neighbors but nothing is what it seems in this holiday romance. Much like Elliana, I never thought I would take the hitman's side, but I think I fell a bit in love with Theo as he fell head over heels for Elli. Mayhem, protection, a mystery, family antics and some holiday cheer, The Hitman didn't only Steal Christmas, this book stole my heart. Thank you to NetGalley and the author for an early copy of this book for my honest review.

Cute story. Quick read. I want more back story about the other characters. And I definitely want Dante's story. The hitman neighborhood was a hoot.

Really enjoyed this story,
