📖📖📖📖
New York State’s Belltower Landing is a lakeside resort town where tourists spend their summer days boating, floating, and paddle-boarding on the water. It’s also the perfect place to cuddle up with a good book and enjoy a cup of tea, courtesy of Tomes & Tea. Owned and operated by Jazzi and her best friend Dawn Fernsby, the book bar is beloved by vacationers and locals alike, but browsers grabbing brews in the off season aren’t enough to help them make ends meet. Jazzi befriends a woman named Brie who has recently made contact with her biological father. As an adopted child herself, Jazzi is more than happy to give Brie emotional support, especially as her wealthy father’s wife and children see her as a threat. But Brie is also looking to start a family of her own. Unfortunately, all the potential princes she’s met through a dating app turn out to be frogs. Then, when Brie is found murdered, Jazzi finds herself playing detective. With a list of suspects ranging from jealous half-siblings to less-than-suitable suitors, Jazzi may need to consult some of her shop’s bestselling mysteries to help her uncover a killer . . .
This is the first in a spin-off series from #daisysteagardenmysteries with Daisys daughter. I love that this series picks up after Jazzi left Pennsylvania for college and we don’t have to wonder what happened to her down the road. I enjoyed getting to see Jazzi in a new light. Dawn is a great addition as well as some other secondary character to the town of Belltower Landing. I’m looking forward to the next installment!
I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All opinions and thoughts are my own.

This new spin-off mystery series starts out okay, but it kind of feels like a rush job to me. I like the business set up of the Tomes and Tea shop, with Jazzi co-owner with a friend (who's being pressured by her family to sell off her share and go into the family business). And they're roommates too. This could be claustrophobic, but the author does a good job of mixing in plenty of other secondary characters to keep things interesting.
One thing I don't care for is the constant listing of who's wearing what, or what plants Jazzi is walking past, etc. They feel kind of rote or encyclopedic and don't really add anything.
The mystery itself is interesting and well-plotted. I mis-guessed the killer, which is always promising :>) I'll be interested in seeing how the next book is.
Review copy provided by the publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
This book was...fine. I didn't hate it, but I definitely didn't find myself getting into it. I haven't read the author's other books, but it seemed like she focused a lot on the food people were eating and clothes they were wearing rather than what was going on. There also seemed to be a few things missing (never figured out how Jazzie got to get all those books but maybe I skimmed that part).
I received a copy of this book for a review, but all opinions are my own.
I really enjoyed reading the ebook review copy.. The book is an extension of the Daisy Tea series. I feel it is the next generation of cozy mysteries. It involves Jazzi Swanson, Dasiy (Swanson) Groft's daughter. This evolves around Brie Frazier's murder and around the Belltower Landing Tourist town. The least expected suspected at the end of the book.
I enjoyed this cozy mystery. While It wasn't a favorite it did keep my attention. And I look forward to more books by this author.
I received this ARC for honest feedback.
This book should have been a short story, not a novel. I love a good description of the characters and their surroundings, but there was so much fluff in this book. I caught myself skimming at times instead of reading. I do not need to know what Jazzi is wearing every single moment. What I do need, is the meat and potatoes of the story. I had a hard time trying to figure out the suspects, as the author was more concerned with the characters attire, or the clouds floating lazily above, than giving me a true murder mystery story.
This is such a cute spin off from the Daisy Teagarden series. This new series is set in a lakeside resort town located in New York and features Daisy's daughter Jazzy, who is now all grown up and owns a bookstore/teashop with her best friend Dawn. Jazzy offers emotional support to a young woman named Brie, who was also adopted, and has recently found her very wealthy birth father. When Brie is murdered shortly after meeting her new family, Jazzy discovers she has inherited her mom's sleuthing abilities and tries to find justice for Brie. There are lots of suspects as Brie was seriously looking for the right guy to settle down with and was meeting men on a dating app. We're some of these men angry about being rejected? There's also her new step siblings and ice cold step mom who are not at all happy to welcome her into the family. I enjoyed this book and look forward to reading the next book in this fun new series. My thanks to the publisher and netgalley for this ARC to read and review.
Murder Marks the Page is a cozy read about a group of people who end up being impacted by a murder that takes place in their small town. I enjoyed all of the aspects of the books that participated in creating the coziness of the story. I thought the friendships, the discussions about adoption, the saving of the bookshop and the setting of the small town were well done and made this a great fall read. However, I was disappointed when it came to the investigation aspect of the story. From the description, I expected the main character to be more involved in the investigation and for it to be a bigger part of the story. Murder Marks the Page was my introduction to Karen Rose Smith and it definitely made me want to pick up a few of her romances. I would recommend this book to someone looking for a light and cozy read.
Thank you to Kensington Books for providing me with an ARC!
Jazzi is all grown up and has opened a tea and bookshop of her own with her best friend. When an acquaintance is murdered, Jazzi finds herself channel her Mother, Daisy, and puts on her sleuthing cap to find a killer.
I love that this series picks up after Jazzi left Pennsylvania for college and we don’t have to wonder what happened to her down the road. A great start to this new series, but then again, Jazzi was so well developed in the previous series that it was just a matter of aging her and letting her come her own person. LOVE IT!
I was excited to see a spin-off from the Daisy Tea Garden Mysteries.
Murder Marks The Page did NOT disappoint.
In this book, Daisy's daughter Jazzi, opens her own book and tea shop. Everything is going well until she befriends Brie. She's recently made contact with her biological father. The problem is the fact that his wife and children see her as a threat.
So, when Brie is found murdered, Jazz gets involved to find out who killed her. Great storyline and fantastic characters. A winner!
A great new series follows Jazzi who owns her own tea shop. She has a knack for sleuthing. This book kept me entertained and I loved all the supporting characters. Gripping storyline and a great whodunit.
Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC.
#MurderMarksthePage #NetGalley is the first in a new series, featuring Jazzi Swanson, daughter of beloved tea shop character, Daisy Swanson.
Jazzi is living in New York State, in Belltower Landing, a small resort town.
Jazzi and her best friend Dawn, own Tomes and Teas, a combination bookstore and tea shop.
Dawn's parents aren't thrilled with her investment in the bookshop, and if Jazzi wants her partner to stay, she needs to improve her marketing skills.
Having some special visitors to the shop helps, but when a murder victim is found, it hit close to home, and Jazzi realizes she has her own set of sleuthing skills.
This is a neat start to a new series, I like Jazzi and having her in her own atmosphere was quite fun. She's an intelligent young woman who wants to experience life, and I'm so happy that we get to see a new side of her.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for selecting me to read an advanced copy of this book.
I'm looking forward to recommending it to other readers.
