Ma'am, you are just on another level. I have not stopped thinking of these characters and this story since I clicked the "send to kindle" button on Netgalley.
I have laughed, I have cried, I have yelled and I have sobbed. But over all I have FELT. DEEP FEELINGS.
I can't recommend this book, and any other book written by Ms Katherine Center. I'm ready to go right back in and read it again. Thank you so much for the ARC! 💕 If I could give this infinite stars, I would.

First off I love all of Katherine Center's books. Thank you for the opportunity to read this one early. Without giving any spoilers I'd say I was at a 4 star rating until the end and that bumped it up to maybe 4.5 stars. I did not see that coming, but I loved the way she wrapped up the story. Such a good quick read.

I could not put this book down! This is my second Katherine Center book, and I will now be going back and reading more of her titles. I absolutely love her style of writing, and the way she blends humor, love, and real life. I laughed out loud so many times reading this book with the banter between the two main characters, Emma and Charlie. A fun, romantic comedy read that also touches the heart. Would be a great beach read this summer!

When a book gets me to feel so many feelings it's an automatic win and an easy 5 stars. I can see this will easily be one of my favorite reads.
I laughed, I cried, and was moved by all the solid advice in this book on life.
I have been a slacker for not reading Katherine Center's other books! I will be going back to read those asap.
I loved how quick this read was because I just never wanted to put it down, the dedication to family and that family comes first is so important. The changing of a grumpy guy. The silly banter and Emma's internal dialogue.
Something that stuck out to me for being so funny is people having a pen color, either blue or black, never both. Black ink all the way!
There are sooo many good quotes in this book to keep stored in your brain. Just one of my favorites being "If you wait for other people to light you up, then I guess you're at the mercy of darkness."

Read this if you love cute rom-com stories, it will not disappoint.

Thank you Netgally, St. Martin's Press and the author for a chance to read this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

You guys. She did it. Katherine Center wrote the most perfect romcom ever. It’s so funny my husband had to keep asking if I was ok. Also, I maybe teared up a tiny bit because I was so in love with these people by the end of it. It’s the perfect amount of romcom and depth of characters. I want to SHOUT this book from the rooftops.

I absolutely loved this book. Katherine Center is an auto read for me, and this book did not disappoint. It follows Emma and Charlie, two screenwriters at very different points in their careers, writing a romantic comedy, Like Center's previous books, this story takes you on a ride through all of the feelings. It has everything - snappy banter, swoony declarations, teary moments, and lovable characters. The romance is a perfect grumpy/sunshine match, but ultimately, it is a book about the power of stories - that we tell each other and ourselves.

Thank you to NetGalley and SMP for this ARC!

This. Book. Was. AMAZING!

Coworker romance, forced proximity, the banter, the characters, the ending, the rom-commy-ness of it all! You'll laugh, you'll cry, and you'll just have to keep reading to find out what happens next. Such a fantastic read.

Synopsis:
She’s rewriting his love story. But can she rewrite her own? Emma Wheeler desperately longs to be a screenwriter. She’s spent her life studying, obsessing over, and writing romantic comedies—good ones! That win contests! But she’s also been the sole caretaker for her kind-hearted dad, who needs full-time care. Now, when she gets a chance to re-write a script for famous screenwriter Charlie Yates—The Charlie Yates! Her personal writing god!—it’s a break too big to pass up.

I can't say enough good things about this book. Definitely pre-ordered it immediately after finishing so I can read it again. You won't be disappointed!

Thank You to St. Martin's Press for the gifted ARC provided through NetGalley.

Katherine Center just gets love. Reading her books always hits me right in the feels, and The Rom-Commers is the best she’s written yet. This concept of two writers was such a fun one, and the characters are so well thought out. This one will be a re-read for sure!

I absolutely loved this book. Seriously, I laughed out loud so many times, I audibly cried — I felt allll the emotions. Just inject anything Katherine Center writes into my veins. This was my favorite book of hers yet!!

From the hardships of caregiving for loved ones to dealing with loss to falling in love to being scared of life’s disappointments, this book manages to cover all of that PLUS having loveable characters, amazing banter, tension throughout the entire book, and just outright smart and witty writing. I’m so glad I got an arc of this book - I’ll be recommending it constantly!

The Romcommers 4.5 ⭐️s
Katherine never misses! This book made me laugh out loud, gasp, and cry. My jaw dropped multiple times. The characters are raw and imperfect with growth throughout the book. There are so many lovable tropes throughout the story, including: forced proximity, grumpy/sunshjne, taking care of each other, and slightly awkward FMC. The banter, the romance *chefs kiss*

Emma’s dream is to be a screenwriter, but her dream took a huge pause when she had to turn down an internship to take care of her father and help raise her little sister. Emma put her dream on hold for years until her best friend pushed her to take an amazing opportunity to help one of her favorite screenwriters, Charlie Yates, rewrite his absolutely terrible romcom screenplay. She learns this will be harder than she firsts realizes as Charlie reveals he doesn’t need her help.

This title releases on June 11th! Go ahead and preorder it to read by the pool! Though I will warn you, I got a little teary at the end!And don’t forget to read the adorable epilogue.

There was only one part that was the only part of the story that fell flat for me, but it’s a spoiler so message me if you wanna know! (@lsreadingviews)

Katherine Center is one of the authors I will automatically read. I’ve been waiting for this book since I finished Hello Stranger and I was over the moon to receive an ARC.
This book follows romance writer Emma as she goes to LA for a co-write with Charlie Yates. THE Charlie Yates, the screen writer she’s semi-obsessed with. The only problem is that his new screenplay is terrible. A couple of tropes, forced proximity and a a little bit of a grumpy/ sunshine dynamic. Delivered by a true pro and a delight to read. I especially enjoyed the cameo of heartthrob Jack Stapleton and Hannah, two characters from The Bodyguard- my favorite KC book so far.

Thank you so much to the author and Netgalley for an ARC of this book. Oh my goodness! Katherine Center you have done it again! I LOVED this book!! It was exactly what I needed at the beginning of a new year. This I think is actually my favorite read from Katherine. I thought it was written so beautifully. But it was also so much fun! There were so many times that I was laughing out loud. I felt the connection between the characters and was rooting for them the entire time. And I thought there was a great balance between the romance plot as well as the details of the main character's family and past. And I liked the little touch of having a cameo from Jack Stapleton in this as well(from The Bodyguard book). And just like a real rom-com I definitely had all the feels at the end.

“Whatever story you tell yourself about your life, that’s the one that’ll be true.”

Katherine Center - you are the Queen of Joy!
I loved the way this story unfolded. There’s no denying that your books just keep getting better and better.
This book tells the story of second chances and choosing gratitude and also changing the way you see everything can really help you love others more. The secondary cast of characters also have good character development which left me loving a whole cast of characters- a whole family- while devouring this story.
I always enjoy Katherine Center’s humor that shines through in all her books and the first person viewpoint. If you haven’t discovered Katherine Center yet - I’m envious of all those who get to read her books for the first time.

"I don't think marriage is hard. I think, in fact, if you do it right, marriage is the thing that makes everything else easier."

This was a really nice, super cute romcom. Emma was hysterical and I found myself belly laughing several times, both at her actual dialogue and her internal monologues.

Charlie definitely had his moments too, but I feel like his character wasn't explored enough. A lot of their time together was described with Emma's internal monologues, so we missed a lot of their time working on the script and just going through life. So because of that, everything seemed to move kind of fast, so if we could have seen more scenes with the two of them, it would have cemented their development more.

But overall, I really enjoyed this story and hope to read more of Katherine's stories.

“The job of a rom-com . . . is to give you a simulated feeling of falling in love.”

Katherine Center is back with her new rom-com – The Rom-Commers! Emma Wheeler is a very good screenwriter, but unfortunately due to circumstances out of her control has never been able to actually “make it” or become well known in the industry, even with an amazing manager, Logan. When Logan calls Emma with the opportunity of rewriting a script based off ‘It Happened One Night’ with famous screenwriter Charlie Yates (whom Emma was obsessed with), she rearranges her schedule (and her sister’s) to go to LA for six weeks. However, working with a temperamental writer that doesn’t believe in love and has a heart of a “suicidal bird,” may be more of a challenge than Emma has bargained for!

Emma’s field research is classic: how can you go wrong with line dancing or even kissing to know how to properly write a love story? The wit and banter between Emma and Charlie at times will make you laugh, make you cry, and even teach you a lesson (Center has some poignant quotes that really make you stop to think, and value your family).

I absolutely adore Center and will read everything she writes – her books are funny, well written and thought out, with plots that pull you in and characters that you will easily connect with. The only problem is that you wish you were friends with the characters in real life!

This novel is coming out on June 11, 2024, and will be the perfect summer read! My heart is “glowing” after reading this novel; I give this 4.7 stars and rate it a Nina’s Notable.

Thank you NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press for this fabulous, heartfelt, funny read! All opinions are my own!

“There it is. The whole trick to life. Be aggressively, loudly, and unapologetically grateful.”

(And now… to go watch the movie It Happened One Night!)
