I absolutely adored this book!! There were so many layers to the story + the relationship between the two characters was so real.

Katherine Center is a must-read author for me because she mixes romance and emotional depth into her stories perfectly. This one is no different and has easily become one of my most cherished books. I found myself excitingly reading through Emma and Charlie's story to see how it will unfold. They have amazing chemistry and tension that is played out throughout the story flawlessly creating an emotional rollercoaster.

Emma and Charlie are well-crafted characters, each possessing relatable qualities in distinct ways. I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know them and watching their relationship evolve throughout the story. Their relationship was not just a romantic one, it explored how we can also find love through friendship and meaningful family relationships. Both protagonists grapple with substantial emotional baggage, yet they handle their challenges maturely, teaching each other to embrace happiness in the present rather than dwelling on the future or the past. Their relationship development felt organic and yet it felt like magic while I was reading it,

A beautiful story that is both entertaining and deeply reflective. It is a celebration of love, resilience and the transforming effect of accepting life's imperfections. It is a book that will leave you with a warm heart and a smile long after you read the last page. Highly recommend!

I am grateful to St. Martin's Press for the opportunity to read a digital copy of this heartwarming book provided through Netgalley. All the opinions expressed this review are my own.

Katherine Center rarely disappoints for me.

I really loved the setting of this book, but the characters fell a little flat for me. I had a hard time connecting to them.

Ultimately, I still really enjoyed it!

I received an advance reader copy of 'The Rom-Commers' from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. Katherine Center has once again delivered a heartwarming and engaging story. I particularly enjoyed the focus on Emma's personal growth and her journey towards self-acceptance. While the romance was entertaining, I found Charlie's inconsistent behavior to be a bit frustrating. Overall, 'The Rom-Commers' is a delightful read that will resonate with fans of the rom-com genre. I recommend it to readers who enjoy stories about women finding their own happiness and embracing their imperfections.

Really sweet, fun romance I truly enjoyed. I tend to really like Katherine Center's books and this was no exception. The premise - a screenwriter who hasn't broken into the industry works with her idol to rewrite a script - was really fun and I enjoyed the FMC's relationships with her family to add stakes to the plot.

The reason it's not 5 stars for me is it felt still a bit surface-level (we were told more than shown a lot of things about the characters!) but in comparison to many other romances I've read that stay surface-level, this one was more well-written than most.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

I really enjoyed The Bodyguard by Katherine Center, and liked Hello Stranger a little less. Sadly, I found that I enjoyed The Rom-Commers even less than that. The main characters were not super likeable, which made rooting for them difficult. I liked the insight provided on the writing process, especially as someone who likes to write, but there wasn't much else that I enjoyed unfortunately. It was a quick read, though, which I did like.

Oh the feelings! I absolutely loved this book. My favorite part was the characters. The FMC was uniquely delightful and the slightly curmudgeonly MMC developed into a total catch. I might have literally (pun intended) swooned towards the end of the book. Throw in a thoughtful, loving family with a tragic backstory and this plot had everything it needed for success!

I was so close to giving up on this book because I felt like it was dragging at the beginning but I’m so glad I kept going! I ended up really enjoying this book. There’s something about a prince that always gets me. Emma and Michel were perfect for each other and I’m glad they realized they were the most important thing in each other’s lives. My initial thought was this is going to be instalove and not be believable to me, but I didn’t end up feeling that way. The book didn’t need to be quite as long though. Overall a very cute story and premise and would recommend!

Omg I absolutely loved this book!
I loved how in the characters writing a screenplay for a rom com, it created a rom com!
Everything Emma taught Charlie about rom coms was basically happening to them.
It was so unrealistic but made the reader realize that this is why we love rom coms!
I loved both the main characters.
I liked that even though it was a light, funny rom com, both characters were dealing with some pretty intense things in their lives.
I also loved the 1st person internal monologue. It added a comedic lightness to the book and made it that much more interesting.
I would 100% recommend this!
It was a slower burn, but it was definitely worth it!
The only thing that might have made it better would be a dual POV. I would have loved to read this from Charlie's point of view!

A "serious" screenwriter is forced to write a rom-com, luckily, with help from an expert.

I recommend all things Katherine Center always; I don't make the rules. This book featured a very charming heroine with gumption and real issues. This title was a master class in what the rom-com is and what it should be and mixed a good amount of family drama in with the dram and the com. I really enjoyed this read and will recommend heartily to long time rom-com superfans and those looking to dip a toe alike!

This was one of my favorite Katherine Centers book. The characters were relatable even though one was a celebrity. The couple going through their own problems and still finding a way to make a happily ever after. I typically dislike books dealing with the C word (cancer), but I loved the optimism this one brought.

Katherine Center writes some of my favorite romcoms! I loved this grumpy x sunshine trope story. It was lovely how the MCs got to know each slowly and the romance flowed naturally. Also there was no 3rd act break up, praise the Lord. loved it!

I sincerely apologize that I am very late in reviewing this book because it was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! Katherine did it again and hit it out of the park with this book. Katherine Center has become one of my all time favorite authors over there past couple of years and I will read and buy anything and everything she writes. Every time I read another one of her books, I am like “this is her best book yet. Not sure how she if she will top this one”, and then her next book comes out and it is always SO GOOD! I LOVED Emma and Charlie. I loved how their relationship growth from “enemies” to friends to love. I loved all the side characters, Emma’s father. Sister, Charlie’s ex-wife, their Agent. I loved the storyline of this book and all the character journeys. This book gave me the best warm and happy feelings. It was a top read for me in 2024 and I have recommended this to friends who also read it and loved it.

Thank you to NetGalley, Katherine Center, and the publisher for a copy of this book. This review is my own thoughts and opinions. Again, sorry for the delay in feedback.

4⭐️

This book was super cute and funny!! I really enjoy this authors writing style - particularly the main character breaking the fourth wall to talk directly to the reader. It was very unique and unlike anything I’ve read before. My only gripe with this is a few moments that the main character had that just rubbed me the wrong way (for example, pressuring her colleague to kiss her for “research” and continuing to pursue him despite him saying no, and her basically blaming her sister for something tragic and accidental and never apologizing). Otherwise, I really enjoyed this.

I truly do enjoy Katherine’s writing and that’s saying a lot considering this is my first book of her to read. I loved the dynamic between the characters and how she portrayed them and I also loved the romance.

I read this book in one sitting! I thought it was a pretty enjoyable read, albeit heavy at a times. I also feel as though the third-act struggles were a bit unreasonable. Overall, I feel like the resolution at the end was a little disappointing and their conflict was a sharp uphill and then very easy resolution. This book addresses very heavy themes at times and I feel like that should be noted.

I typically love Katherine Center's books, but I found myself putting this one down again and again. The story fully centers on the two main characters, Emma and Charlie. I wasn't quite sold on Charlie's character, but their relationship subtly builds and you grow to love both of them! True to form, Center's writing is a delight and this story will tug at your heartstrings. I would recommend if you are in the mood for character-driven story and slow build romance. Thank you to St. Martin's Press and NetGalley for this e-ARC.

I loved this book so much! Katherine Center has a knack for writing emotional books with sweet romance, relatable characters, and moments that pull at your heart strings.

I had been struggling with my first few reads of the year being just ok, but this is a definite five star read. The audiobook narrator was so well cast and did a wonderful job bringing Emma and Charlie to life. I was hooked from the very beginning of the book and I read the entire thing in one day.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for providing an ARC for an honest review.
