Admittedly, I’m not a Nora Roberts reader! I didn’t request this one, but felt terrible not giving to a go once it appeared on my list. Just hasn’t been my vibe— I’ll try again another time.

Five stars to be fair.

Good luck!

I'm a huge Nora Roberts fan since I first picked up one of her books many years ago. I enjoyed the story and thought I had the conclusion all figured out. Wrong! There were a couple of twists that didn't follow the usual script, although it didn't veer too far. The story moved along and most definitely kept me engaged. The characters were likeable (absolutely LOVED Braydon) and comfortable in their own skin. From personal experience, a family tragedy can either push a family to the brink or bring them together, closer than ever. So glad this was the latter.

I loved Mind Games and was sorry to see it end. The detail of the characters had me feeling I actually knew them and was invested in their lives. The plot was unique, exciting and heart stopping. The writing as always, wonderful. What a great storyline. I would love if Roberts continued with these characters in other plots.

Round this up to 4.5 stars.
I haven't read a Nora Roberts book in several years, but have always enjoyed her stories as well as those of J.D. Robb and other pseudonyms. This one is one of her better books. Twelve year old Thea Fox and her brother Rem spend the first two weeks of every summer at their grandmother Luci Lannigan's house/farm in rural Kentucky. Those weeks are their favorite time of the year - learning to make candles, milking goats and feeding chickens, not to mention learning life's inevitable lessons. But tragedy comes into this idyllic setting and the Kentucky farm becomes their refuge after their world is blown apart.
A psychic ability runs through the Fox/Lannigan women and the force is strong with Thea. This ability is a central theme running through the book and provides it resolution. Mind Games takes Thea and her family through 18 years of the aftermath of a world changing event. Roberts does such an excellent job of letting the reader see, hear and smell the setting. There is a languid quality in the writing that permeates the book creating a slow moving life that rings true for the setting. I really liked this book. The grief is palpable. The joy as well. Emotions run the gamut. Best book I have read in a while.

Very good book! I usually don't like books dealing with mind readers but I really enjoyed this. I felt that the story could of continues delving into the key characters further into their married lives. Top pick for me.

The book was much more than expected:

✔️ former rockstar hero
✔️ single dad
✔️ video game designer heroine
✔️ small town
✔️ close-knit family
✔️ cute child and dog

and if you are like me, you are going to devour this book!!

Mind Games is a captivating story about a girl becoming a woman and her rather unique gift. She was a really fascinating heroine. Strong but also vulnerable, dedicated and smart. And the support she got from her family and friends was heart-warming.

Especially the cast surrounding her was what makes this book such a wonderful read.

Her grandmother ♡ - I have so much love for her!!!

I had the best time with Mind Games. Loved the story, the setting and the closeness of the characters. There were so many parts of this book, scenes, and little tidbits that were utterly charming and endearing. And I love it when an author gives me actual background to a story. When I feel like I'm right there, moving through the years with the characters, witnessing them grow and change.

Most of all, the ending was surprisingly different and cool, and nothing like I expected. BRAVO!!

Oh, Nora Robert’s, how I’ve missed you! This book had all the elements of a great book: family, love, devotion, loss, and a bit of supernatural thrown in. I loved Thea and Grammie and reveled in their lives in the country. Such a well-written, great book!

She has created a good life despite the tragedy in her past, but struggles to sever the connection she has to a killer’s mind.

When Thea was just twelve and her brother Rem ten, their parents were murdered in their Virginia home by an angry and twisted young man. Thea and Rem were staying with their Grammie Lucy in rural Kentucky when it happened, but while she slept Thea saw the violent scene unfold in her dreams. As did many of the women in her family tree, Thea has the gift of vision, and it turns out that her parents’ killer, Ray Riggs, has the power of vision as well, and on the night of the murders their minds connect. A devastating thing for anyone to experience, but Thea is ultimately able to describe what Ray looks like and where he is hiding out to the authorities. Ray is apprehended, and ultimately pleads guilty in order to avoid the death penalty. He will spend the rest of his life in prison, unless he is able to use his gift to manipulate someone into helping him escape; but until he finds a way to make that happen, he searches Thea out with his mind, infiltrating her dreams, and Thea has to develop methods to block these intrusions. Thea and Rem spend the rest of their childhood in Kentucky, with Grammie as their guardian, and both pursue their dreams. Thea uses her creative talents to design computer games, and is able to do so from her home in Kentucky. Life is going quite well, apart from the occasional intrusions from Ray., until new neighbors move in….a man with his young son. The man turns out to be Ty Brennan, a member of a now-defunct rock band and Thea’s major teenage crush. As Thea and Ty get to know one another, they develop feelings for one another….and Ray uses those emotions to penetrate her mental barriers. Not wanting Ty to think she’s a freak, a reaction she has previously experienced when revealing the truth about her gift to someone she loved, Thea doesn’t tell Ty about her unusual talent . That sets the stage for a major misunderstanding that could doom their relationship, and all the while Ray’s attacks are intensifying. Thea must use her mental and professional skills to create a mind game that will free her of her unwanted connection to Ray, but will she find a way to sever it once and for all? And even if she does, will she and Ty be able to overcome their fears and mistrust to allow love to take root?
Mind Games is another enjoyable romantic suspense novel from the talented and prolific Nora Roberts. Thea, like all good NR heroines, is beautiful, smart and resourceful, and has overcome challenges in her past to create a life for herself with the help of loving family and friends, in this instance her wise and loving Grammie and her brother Rem. . She has psychic abilities as well as formidable gaming and artistic expertise, and when the object of her teenage fantasies appears right down the road from her house, she is delighted to discover that some fantasies may just come true. Good-looking, talented and good-hearted Ty is just the type of guy a woman like Thea needs, and his son Bray is a little charmer. Add in some colorful neighbors, plus dogs, chickens, cows and a goat, and the reader could easily be tempted to spend a little time sipping lemonade on a porch in Redbud Hollow. The novel starts off with the events leading up to the tragedy, which some might find upsetting, but love and community rally round and set Thea and her family back on the road to happiness. Fans of Nora Roberts will enjoy this, her latest offering, as will readers of Sandra Brown, Iris Johansson, and Linda Howard. Many thanks to NetGalley and St Martin’s Press for allowing me access to an early copy of this engaging story. And thank you, Ms Roberts, for creating Lucy, who reminds me so much of my late mother.

Nora Roberts is an author I will always read because she has the uncanny ability to put characters in compelling situations. One of the many things I love about a Roberts book is that we typically follow the characters through decades and watch them grow and change. Her heroines are strong and savvy women who overcome challenges. In Mind Games, Thea Fox embodies that criteria and is a character readers will root for. In fact, I loved ALL the characters in this book.
The suspense in this book builds differently than in other NR books and facing the villain was approached from a unique angle. This was such a satisfying read from the plot to the setting and the endearing cast of characters! A must read. Thank you to St. Martins Press for the opportunity to read an early copy, all thoughts and opinions are my own.

Mind Games is such a different book from Roberts' normal mystery/romance stand alones, and I loved every minute of it. You really knew the characters (I cried more than once), felt the environment (I have house envy) and created a story that was unusual and pulled you into it.

I received an e-galley from the publisher through NetGalley,

This was a fantastic thriller. A young girl with a special gift and a horrific connection to a serial killer. The novel was amazing, covering years, and letting us see how she copes with her gift and her life. Her brother and grandmother are both full bodied characters. The romantic interest is just spicy enough and I always love a playful, adorable child. Read it in one night!

What do you do when you get your hands on a new Nora Roberts book? You drop everything and read .

This was a classic Nora Roberts romantic suspense full of loveable characters and an appropriately horrible villain. .

Our story starts in June when Thea and her brother have gone for their annual two week stay with their Grammie Lucy in Kentucky.

But one night, Thea and her grandmother Lucy both awaken from the same nightmare. And though the two have never discussed the special kind of sight they share, they know as soon as their tearful eyes meet that her parents have been killed. Thanks to Thea’s vision, their parents’ killer will spend his life in supermax. Over time, Thea lives her life, but her parent's killer shares the same gift as she. And as he hungers for vengnece, the two clash in their minds

I admit the book started off slow after the initial action ( murder). but after it picks up, I couldn't put it down. I missed this Nora Roberts: the descriptive language, the explaining of emotions, the character building. Are some things resolved rather quickly? Yes! But all in all i enjoyed this one more than i have some of her other recent novels and it felt like seeing an old friend.

Thank you to NetGalley for the copy! All opinions are my own

Mind Games by Nora Roberts. Unique premise with very likable, genuine characters. Fell in love with Grammie, Thea, Rem, Ty, Bray, and of course, Bunk. The villain was totally despicable. One of the best romantic suspense novels , Ms Roberts has written. Highly recommended.
Thank you to Ms Roberts, St Martin's Press, and Netgalley for the opportunity to preview the book.

The plot was unique and fascinating. I loved the series of events that lead to the climax. It takes some good writing to make unbelievable coincidences entirely believable and that’s exactly what Roberts does. All I can say, without giving anything away is that you HAVE to read this book. It’s completely unique. Seriously, you will not be disappointed!

Nora does it again! She’s the only author I always drop everything for to read. Part nostalgia, part just her ability to always put out a solid story, I just love her books.

Mind Games was super interesting bc after the initial murder at the very beginning every dangerous thing truly is in the mind. I’m not sure I believe in psychics irl but I love a good psychic mc in my books and Thea is fabulous. Gifted from a very young age we watch her grow up after the death of her parents. I love Nora’s way of giving us snippets of time so we don’t feel like we just time jumped but still manage to fast forward through the filler years quickly. It’s better than just a regular time jump imo.

When we finally get to the “present” we meet Ty, her hs band crush! I just loved this so much. Who doesn’t dream of falling in love with their celebrity crush as a teen? Imagine if there was a chance for it to happen irl?! And we can’t forget about the rest of the family. Lucy, Bray, Bunk, and Rem are all fantastic secondary characters. I love them so much. I also love that Thea is a very big video game designer. Always great to see fmc’s in stem positions!

The overarching plot is all between Thea and the guy who killed her parents and it was not your average romantic suspense. I love that about this book. All in all, another great read!

I absolutely adored Grammie, aka Lucy. That woman is the epitome of what and who a Grammie is. Rem and Thea are very much the typical brother and sister, but yet closer than most. Maddy, every girl needs a bestie like her. And Ty, mmmf. Everyone needs a Ty. Bray….what is not to love about an adorable 4/5 year old?

Grammie, Thea, and Rem are at the heart of the story. Thea and Rem spend two weeks every summer with Grammie so their parents get some alone time. But one summer a tragedy happens. One that Thea sees during her sleep.

That creates years of dealing with a murderer who shares the same gift she does.

This book was so good. I was literally ugly sobbing but that quickly grew to cheering for Thea. I loved the way she and Rem grew and developed. So well written. Very highly recommend.

An absolutely phenomenal book. I loved the storyline. It broke my heart and made me cry but also gave such a true family feeling that I couldn't put it down. Thea was so brave and smart that she seemed surprised when good things happened to her. The storyline and the characters have such a flow that you have to finish it as quickly as you can. this book is my new favorite and will be recommending it to everyone.

This romantic suspense will grab your attention right at the beginning, and you won't be able to put it down. Thea's parents took her and her brother to Kentucky for a two-week visit with their grandmother and returned to Virginia. They were then murdered and she, and her grandmother, instantly know what happened. They both have the gift of sight and being able to see the truth. The murderer also has this gift, and the plot thickens as he and Thea each know what the other is thinking. A page-turner that will cause you to lose a little sleep. Well written with lots of emotion and depth. I read a free book via Net Galley and voluntarily chose to write a review.

It’s one of those books where it looks as though everything is falling apart, but you just know that things can’t possibly be as they seem. You hold out hope and cross your fingers that things aren’t as black and white as the characters think they are. And you’re rewarded in spades. Nora Roberts, has done it again. I knew, they would never let me down. 10/10 read!!
