Major thanks to NetGalley and JetSpace Studio for an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest thoughts.

I misread ๐˜ค๐˜ฐ๐˜ฎ๐˜ฑ๐˜ข๐˜ฏ๐˜บ for ๐˜ค๐˜ฐ๐˜ถ๐˜ฏ๐˜ต๐˜ณ๐˜บ and realized how political this book is. It took me by surprise. Looking at the way entertainment companies will use their own idols as dolls instead of allowing them to be who they want to be, who they are.

Salvo is able to weave present day issues with the kpop industry with a spicy unrequited romance between our two male leads. It reads quick with fun shifts in plot with a wild ending that also took me by surprise in emotional tone.

For fans of EXO, BTS, NCT, SEVENTEEN, and STRAY KIDS with imaginative fantasies (I know which twitter accounts you secretly follow ๐Ÿ‘€๐Ÿ‘€๐Ÿ‘€).

Book Review for: "Idol Moves" by KT Salvo
Source: ARC from NetGalley
Score: 4/5 stars

The book "Idol Moves" continues to follow Jason and Tae Hyun as they navigate their public relationship and try and find success while many people are working against them.

The book is is more than romance. This time there are darker elements and mystery/thriller components taking center stage.

Plot:
The plot continues from Tae Hyun announcing his feelings for Jason and now they are together and preparing for Tae Hyun's solo debut. The story quickly takes a turn and gets dark with "threats" and other events that put our main characters at risk. The book focuses more on the plot/mystery than it does the relationship between Tae Hyun and Jason which is good because it gives the pair more opportunities for character development.

Throughout the story, the book discusses the forces working against Tae Hyun to suppress his chances of making a comeback in the music industry. We also see more emotions from our characters as they deal with stressful situations and the challenges of being a queer couple in the entertainment industry.

Overall, there were plenty of growth in the characters and the plot allowed for more emotions to be explored.

Writing:
The book again moves quickly but there is more time spent on the interaction of the characters. The author does a good job at exploring the emotions of our characters without getting too dramatic. With that being said, I did feel as though a lot of the issues in the relationship between Tae Hyun and Jason go unresolved.

Overall, the book moves quickly and is interesting throughout the entirety.

Characters:
Overall, the characters continue to be a strong point in this series. The supporting cast is pretty much still intact and are more involved in the storyline this time around.

The only issue I had was that the supporting cast was reintroduced very quickly with very little context to remind us who they were in the previous book. It took a moment before I remembered who this person was from the previous book. That isn't so much that the characters were not strong in book one. It is more so a product of how memorable the two leads were.

Finale:
Overall, it was good to see a m/m romance that represented East Asians in a positive light. The book is much darker and continues to have strong characters to keep readers invested.

I didn't realize this one was a sequel when I requested it. I'm sorry, but I won't be reviewing it at this time. I'll look for the first book at my local library and will come back to read book 2 if I can.

When I stared โ€œIdol Movesโ€, I didnโ€™t realize that it was part of a series. I read it anyway (out of order- the blasphemy! I know.) Jason and Tae Hyun weโ€™re an adorable couple. The book was the perfect mix of romance with some suspense and a side of hurt/ comfort. I would recommend this book to all fan-persons, especially k-pop and fan fiction fans. I definitely recommend this book and look forward to read other books in this series!

I really loved this sequel to Idol Minds! This book was darker and quite action-packed which did not at all hinder the romance of the story between the two protagonists. I really liked the supporting cast of characters and the continuity of story arc among those characters. I thought the author did a great job of showing the growth and depth of the relationship of the two leads in spite of all the drama and obstacles put in their way. I also felt that the description of the tension in Korean society between the traditional and the modern aspects of the culture was nuanced and really interesting.
This ends with a surprise so I hope we will get a third installment of this series.

I would highly recommend this to romance readers and K-pop lovers!

Tae-hyun and Jason's love burns brighter and deeper in this sizzling sequel. In a story filled with mystery, action, and seduction their relationship faces perilous new challenges testing the strength of their bond. This tantalizing read had my heart racing and left me craving the next book.

Gone are the lighter Korean & Thai BL vibes from Idol Minds; Idol Moves is all angsty, dangerous K-drama. And I Love It!!!

At the end of Idol Minds, Jason Park and Woo Tae Hyun's relationship exploded all over entertainment news in Korea. Now they are settled in LA and working to succeed in the new direction their careers have taken. Returning to Seoul to attend a wedding puts them in danger from an unconfirmed source. Will their security team be able to handle the threat before it is too late?

Idol Moves is part mystery and part action-thriller with a healthy dose of love and sexy times.

Recommended for: Idol Minds readers; romance readers; K-drama fans

Content warning: physical violence and emotional trauma; abusive parents; mentions of teen suicide

This was so good. I like that it was slightly darker than the first book. And finally a romance that doesn't have the ever present miscommunication trope. Jason and Taehyun were adorabke

More romance books should get sequels, just so we can spend more time with the characters. I was glad to see Idol Minds got a sequel, and excited to read it early!

I've enjoyed Idol Minds, and I enjoyed this too, but I also have to admit these aren't exactly my brand of romances. I like the characters and the actual romance, but the high stakes of these books and the darker element don't really work for me in a romance, because I read those to be comforted. This leaves me feeling a little conflicted, because there are a lot of elements I enjoyed, but overall this just isn't exactly my type of book. I am still glad I read the sequel, just to spend more time with the characters.

Idol Moves was a great continuation of Tae-hyun and Jason's story. This second volume went a little darker than the first but was a satisfying read both in terms of an interesting development in the plot and in the further exploration of the romantic relationship. It finished in a way that was satisfying but which still left me wanting to know what would happen next, so I hope there will be a third volume to conclude the story. I am giving this book four stars.
