Thank you to NetGalley and Boldwood Books for my copy of Death at Paradise Park by Ross Greenwood
Di Ashley Knight is called to a murder, a man eating his supper behind the fish shop is dead.
Murdered as he sat in his van.
Teamed with her rookie sidekick Hector Fade and the rest of the team are looking for answers when another murder occurs on their patch.
Are they connected but how?
I felt this book didn’t move as quickly as the first in the series and got bogged down in the middle, but I did enjoy the finish and like the team.

I would like to thank Netgalley and Boldwood Books for an advance copy of Death at Paradise Park, the second novel to feature DS Ashley Knight of Norfolk Police.
It starts with Alfie Hook being murdered behind a fish and chip shop in Hunstanton, then another body is found in the nearby caravan park, Paradise Park. Ashley and the team struggle to find a connection between the victims as the body count rises and the few leads they have paint a contradictory story.
I thoroughly enjoyed Death at Paradise Park, which is a thrilling and engrossing read with a plot complicated enough to fool most readers (including this one). It is told mostly from Ashley’s point of view and I like that as it allows the reader to concentrate on the narrative without disruptions and offers an immersive read. The reader knows what she knows, so, with so many unanswered questions, it gives the reader much to think about and arouses the curiosity to know more.
There is never a dull moment in the read with so many developments, twists and small reveals. I will say that the plot is probably not reality based, but that doesn’t matter when it’s so entertaining. Ashley and the team are up against a very smart, strategic killer, who is running rings round them for much of the novel until they get a breakthrough, which comes in the shape of a double cross. As they say, there is no honour amongst thieves, but the transactional nature of those involved, even peripherally, is quite shocking - my jaw dropped several times. I was glued to the pages.
The novel has a bit of everything, a terrific plot, grisly murders, lies, twists, victims, thrills, excitement, a certain amount of misdirection, some neat ironies and humorous dialogue. The detectives are all dedicated to hunting down the killer, but it’s not all work as there is time to explore more personal issues as well. They don’t detract from the work, but they make the characters more likeable and human. The verbal jousting is fun and realistic.
Death at Paradise Park is a good read that I have no hesitation in recommending.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book, it has a great first chapter that really grabs your attention. It is a police procedural and the officers are realistic characters. There are some very funny lines in their conversations and the interactions between them make this book better than some others of the same genre. The story is set on the North Norfolk coast with lovely descriptions of the sunsets there. It is the second in the series but could also be read as a stand alone. I’m looking forward to the next book already!

Alfie Hook is enjoying his fish and chips in his truck outside the Vegas and fish and chip shop in Hunstanton. He is a regular there. When an unknown person jumps into his cab and stabs him. His body his not found until nearly 24 hours later. Alfie is the husband of Jackie Hook that has just been released from prison for the last 8 years after killing a Policeman and holding a firearm. Norfolk major incident team thinks that Jackie is the number one suspect. When another body is found in nearby caravan and lodge park. The team wonder if the two deaths are linked in some way or is it just a coincidence.
Death at Paradise Park is the 2nd book in the DS Ashley Knight series and another fabulous episode in the series. The story has well developed characters and a story line of intrigue and suspense. There is a lot of twists and turns and a lot of red herrings along the way. I liked the camaraderie between the team and the humour in this storyline too that made me more want to read it. I will wait patiently for book three. I can’t wait. 5 stars from me.

Death at Paradise Park is the second in the Norfolk Murders series, I have not read book one, but I don’t feel this was necessary as, for the main, the book works as a standalone. DS Ashley Knight, and her colleagues have a somewhat complex tangle of criminal activities to unravel… Everyone involved is lying to the police, and it takes a long time for the police to realise this. Then we have the interwoven tales from the personal lives of the team. There is a lot going on and with such a sizeable pool of suspects I found myself getting confused more than once. Personally, I felt the book was too busy, and I found I wasn’t bothered about the outcome – which I have to say, was on the fantastical side.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for this ARC. I haven't read anything by this author before but highly enjoyed this one. It had a lot of characters which at times got confusing the story was great and it had plenty of twists!

Death at Paradise Park is full of suspense, thrills, murders and many plot twists. And, some humorous moments help too. What more could you ask for?
I have not read the first book in the series and had no issue reading this as a standalone. I enjoyed getting to know the main character, Ashley as well as her team.
I was kept guessing up to the end.
I am already wondering where the author will take us in the next book in the series.
Thank you to NetGalley, Boldwood Books and the author for the opportunity to read this book for my honest review. All opinions expressed are my own.

DS Ashley Hook and her team are called in when local man, Alfie Hook, is found dead in his van. Alfie’s wife has just been released from prison on parole and Ashley knows that telling her about Alfie’s death won’t be easy.
Initial investigations lead them to the Paradise Caravan Park, a place that turns out to be anything but paradise when another body is found.
Ashley feels like the deaths must be connected but is struggling to find out how. As the body count rises and the leads get more tangled up Ashley and the team are in a race to find the killer before they disappear for good.
Well plotted, strong characters, good setting, this is an incredible twisty crime thriller you won’t be able to put down.

I really enjoyed Death in Cromer Beach and could hardly wait to read the second in the DS Knight series. It could be read as a standalone, much better if you read the first. This is some of the best British crime I’ve read, the author doesn’t skimp on plot details. The characters are richly described and believable. This murder case has detectives doing extensive legwork piecing together clues, interviewing, tracking down suspects and motives. The husband of a recently paroled wife(Jackie) is found murdered, which is only the start of an intricately plotted novel.
Some of the British terminology kept me on my toes, (caravan is a fancy name for an RV/trailer park to this native Texan!) The setting at this vacation spot attracts mostly retirees and some younger types who are bored, escaping or hiding. Next a young woman is found dead under gruesome circumstances. DS Ashley Knight and Hector have a complicated web of criminal activity to untangle. The manager of the Paradise Caravan is a suspicious character, as are the groundskeeper and maintenance man. The pool of suspects responsible for the revolting murder is rather large. Soon the debonair Deniz is linked to more than one lonely lady at the Caravan. Is money a motive? More deaths follow and Knight is using all possible personnel to halt the increasing body count before more people die. Are these deaths connected, a serial killer? Or is there more than one killer? I found the mystery increasingly addictive and couldn’t read fast enough. I was drawn into the maze of suspects and clueless to how they would catch those responsible. I thrived on the detailed case explanations and will continue to read this series and highly recommend the author.
Thanks to NetGalley for the digital advance reader copy of “Death at Paradise Park” DS Knight book 2, and to Ross Greenwood, publishers Boldwood Books. These are always my own honest personal thoughts and opinions given voluntarily without any compensation.

DS Knight is on the ball again in the 2nd book of the series. I enjoyed the 1st one and this did not disappoint.
Two bodies are their troublesome case, but no ties. No connection means more work for the team.
Or is it two killers? Doubling the work for them.
They knuckle down and we get to know the outcome.
So will you, read the book you won’t be disappointed

Alfie Hook is no stranger to a fish supper. It's his last meal, but (surprisingly) it isn't what killed him.
Just across the road, in Paradise Park, there's another body, in the posh bit of the holiday park.
DS Ashley Knight and her team really have very little to go on - apart from the fact that everyone is hiding something.
Excellent - can't wait to see what the team get up to next

Death at Paradise Park
A BRAND NEW addictive crime thriller from Ross Greenwood for 2023
by Ross Greenwood
The second outing in the DS Knight series finds Knight and the team faced with a less than straightforward case beginning with one Alfie Hook. A seriously Good book! This book had a bit of everything! It had suspense, Action, intrigue, mystery, revenge, murder, serial killer, hired gunmen, great who did it, great plot twist, and some crazy twists and turns! Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for sharing this book with me

This is the first Ross Greenwood book I’ve read and whilst I gather this is part of a trilogy I had no issues reading it as a standalone. Set in a quiet seaside resort where the investigation into the murder of a man who was found stabbed to death in a car park leads them into the premium section of a local caravan park and the discovery of another body which seems impossible to link. There’s a lot of characters in this but I found it generally fine to keep up with and the crime was increasingly complex as the body count rose. It did stretch incredulity to an extent which I struggled with but overall it’s a good police procedural with a whole lot of action going on.

local-law-enforcement, procedural, teamwork, drugs-issues, crime-fiction, thriller, suspense, banter, sly-humor, murder, investigations, riveting, Norfolk*****
Such well developed characters and insight into them. The team is great and the ones on the other side of the law are some real misfits. The due diligence is very complex and the paperwork endless. the plot is sneaky twisty with some diabolical red herrings and the sprinklings of humor really make it. How have I missed this author?
I requested and received an EARC from Boldwood Books via NetGalley. Thank you!

Death at Paradise Park by Ross Greenwood is the second book in the DS Ashley Knight trilogy. I was hooked by the opening scene with Alfie Hook and him eating his fish and chips and his ultimate demise.
The story mixes good tension, some humor, and solid, well-developed characters. I enjoyed getting to know Ashley and her team. This book can be read as a standalone book.
I look forward to book 3 in this series.

This is another fantastic read from Ross Greenwood. I loved the characterisation and the touches of humour within the team. Please tell me there will be another in this series! Filled with tension, murders, plot twists and interesting characters, it's an easy 5* from me. Thanks to Net Galley for my ARC.

A Grisly Killing..
The second outing in the DS Knight series finds Knight and team faced with a less than straightforward case beginning with one Alfie Hook. A second body at a local caravan park complicates matters, the grisly killing must be connected. Local residents are tight lipped, alibis check out. What exactly are the team missing? Deftly drawn characters populate a tightly constructed plot with twists and turns aplenty in a well imagined setting. Another immersive and engaging instalment and a worthy follow up to the first in this new series.

The second in the DS Ashley Knight trilogy which is set in Hunstanton, the apparent murder capital of Norfolk! The team of the Major Investigation Unit have a real mix of characters to deal with this time, a millionaire and his glamorous partner who was a renowned crook when younger; an ex con out on licence who is the van drivers now widow; an assassin and a collection of elderly residents of the caravan park. This is so well written and plotted and reads well as a stand-alone but the first book was great so I’d grab that too if I was you!
Briefly, a morbidly obese van driver is killed in the car park of a fish and chip shop. This is followed by the discovery of a female drowned in her hot tub on the nearby Paradise Caravan site. With few clues but a number of suspects Ashley and her team get to work but as more bodies are found their workload is increasing and they are no closer to finding the killer.
With the assassin seemingly one step ahead all the time it becomes really difficult for the team to separate fact from fiction. Brilliant storyline and the relationships between the members of the team are a real joy to follow; I love all the banter and the lighthearted moments. Rather than a trilogy I reckon there needs to be more! Too good to stop at three.

Complex thriller set mostly in a holiday park, mostly the luxury lodges. Many deaths few suspects,a tricky case for Detective Ashley and her crew.

I enjoyed reading this book. It had a good story to it. I liked the variety of characters in it. I have read other books by this author and liked them too.
