#TheHouseGuest #NetGalley This was a great thriller with so many twists and turns that kept me turning the pages long into the night! Told from the perspective of four different characters, just when you though you understood what was happening and who was wrong/right another little curveball appeared at the end of the chapter that made me rethink everything again. Am ending I didn't see coming - a well deserved 5 stars!

I love a good domestic thriller.
The thought of not knowing who you've truly invited into your home is terrifying.

A fast paced and gripping read that i could not put down.

What did I just read!!!! Wow. Thrilling page turner I couldn’t put down. Multiple POV and despicable narrators. I loved this book.

Thank you #NetGalley for the ARC!

This really had me from the get-go but I thought the ending was just kind of lackluster. I would have liked a little more suspense and drama. I thought it was a really good concept and moved pretty quickly. I do wish the characters had been a bit more developed though to add some tension between their relationships. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

The House Guest by Alison James and narrated by Jan Cramer was an excellent audio book / book it was full of brilliant twists and turns that had you sitting on the edge of your seat. WoW this audio book was so good! Once I started it, I found it hard to stop - so glad I had a full battery on my phone! which made it a completely unputdownable psychological thriller that had a shocking twist.

All Alison's books have always been a brilliant read and the way she writes is just amazing especially as she has a way of drawing you in and all the characters of every book have been excellent and perfect.
Alison's books are magical in every way and so believable!

The narrator Jan Cramer was excellent as well and bought this book to life.

I highly recommend this book and a great holiday read. 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ read.

If you want a book to keep you completely this is the book for you. When a stranger turns up on their doorstep claiming to be a long lost relative of her husband they welcome her to stay. As they can't have children when her husband dies their lovely stately home will pass on to this young woman. It isn't long before she regrets letting her stay and she has reason to.
A really good book to keep you wanting to carry on reading.

While I thought this book started out slow and at each turn of the page I thought I knew what was coming, I was really surprised at how fast paced and more intriguing it got. A true cat, cat, cat and mouse thriller that this time turned out to be the Mouse's win. I can't wait to check out more from this Author.

#TheHouseGuest #NetGalley has enough twists and turns to keep the reader guessing until the end.
All families have secrets, but some of those can ruin a life or marriage in an instant.
This story was a wild ride, and I couldn't stop reading it.

This was one heck of a story. The same events were told several times from different viewpoints which I found absolutely fascinating. It keeps you reading, wanting to know more.
A marriage that appears relatively happy on the surface. A long-lost relative showing up out of nowhere. A best friend who suddenly stops talking to you.
Nothing is as it seems and you want to keep reading to find out more.
There are several big twists at various points throughout the book, which wind down to a satisfying, if predictable ending.
I recommend!
Thanks to NetGalley, the author, and the publisher for an ARC of this book.

I really enjoyed this book. Very good writing style divided into different sections being told from different viewpoints. We’re told the timeline so it’s not confusing. Full of suspense and a great ending

This intriguing book is divided into 8 parts- each identifying the character point of view from which the story is being toľd. The timeline is given at the beginning of each well written, descriptive chapter. Although none of the characters are particularly likeable, this fast paced story keeps you turning the pages to find out what the next twist is.
Thank You to NetGalley, Bookouture and Alison James for the opportunity to read this ARC.

Reading Between the Wines book review #132/115(met goal in Sept!) for 2023:
Rating: 4 ½ 🍷 🍷 🍷 🍷 (rounded up to 5)
Book: The House Guest
Author: Alison James
Available Now!!

Sipping thoughts: I REALLY loved the writing style of this book. I always enjoy Alison James books but this one really had me in a chokehold! I loved that it was written from different POVs and went back in time to see how each story was viewed by the different characters. Reading the first part of the book had me internally rolling my eyes because I felt like it was going to play out like the typical gaslighting, cheating spouse but boy was I wrong. I could not finish this book fast enough and I was just floored at what kept coming up. This is the reason why I rounded my stars up to 5 stars.

Cheers and thank you to @Bookouture and @Netgalley for an advanced copy of @TheHouseGuest.

I had a hard time finishing this book. It was a little slow for me. I ended up taking a few breaks from it. I couldn’t connect with the characters and didn’t find them enjoyable. There were some twists and turns but it was all very predictable.

Thank you NetGalley, Alison and bookouture for the ARC!

Thank you NetGalley for my latest 3.5 star read!

Juliet is the woman that everyone is jealous of. She has a gorgeous husband, a wonderful son, an immaculate home, and she is simply stunning. However, her life begins to unravel when a young woman pops in to visit. Alexis is the heiress to the estate that Juliet and her husband own and she wants to see the property that may one day belong to her. But what else does Alexis plan to claim?

This is one of the most twisty twisty thrillers that I have read in a minute. Allison James is giving Freida McFadden vibes with this one. While Feida is the GOAT with the twists and turns, Allison doesn't do too bad. The mulitple POVs with this book kept me guessing a bit about who knew what and which scheme was going to fall apart and which one would be hatched next. I really enjoyed this one!

I didn’t hate it but I didn’t love it. The house guest had a very slow start for me. I almost put it in the dnf pile but I kept on. It was an okay story and I liked having multiple points of view even tho I disliked almost every main character. The different points of view were also slightly repetitive. I enjoyed the plot until around the last 10%. I think the story line ended up too complex and didn’t pan out thoroughly enough for my liking.

Thank you Net Galley and Bookouture for the opportunity to read The House Guest as an arc in exchange for my honest review.
