The book starts when Becka comes out of a coma that she has been in since an accident, with hardly any memory. Luckily, Freddie is there for her, and as she recovers, she tries to get back to what she thinks is her life.

This gripped me from the start.
The book was everything I wanted from a thriller - exciting, fast-paced, strong characters and a brilliant ending. I loved the short chapters. They made it a real page turner - in fact, at the end I couldn't turn the pages quickly enough! Bring on novel number three, Hayley!

A great twisty read. I've recently read another from the author and found that gripping and twisty too. Can't wait to read more from the author based on this and the other I've read. Great characters and plots.

pretty fun domestic thriller with some decent twists. I usually love the amnesia trope so this was up my alley. I will say the pace was a bit slow and I didn’t love the multiple POVs but overall had a good time with it.

Its not often that I read a book where I really find myself connecting with the main characters. This book was it for me. It had the perfect amount of suspense and a really good pace. I will definitely check out this authors other works

I have read similar books before but this one had a totally different twist. Becca wakes up in hospital after being involved in a serious accident. She realises that her memory has been affected and she cannot remember the accident or her past life and doesn’t even recognise the man at her bedside, her husband Freddie. Whilst in hospital some of her memory returns and she remembers her name and is told that she can be discharged to go back home with Freddie. But once home Becca feels things are not adding up. The clothes, which are supposedly here, are not the correct size and not her normal style. The mystery depends more when her elderly neighbour tells her that she had a successful baking company but Becca just cannot believe it. That’s when she realises that something is really wrong. Who is Freddie and can he be trusted? What is going on? The story is told before and after the accident with so many twists and turns along the way. It had me totally hooked.
Thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book.

Why did I think immediately that the man at Bekka’s bedside when she awoke, minus her memory, was not her husband? I was right, but it was hard to judge the guy who just oozed love and concern.
Becca’s trying very hard to remember her past and her “husband” feeds her the information she needs at the moment. He obviously hopes her memory never returns but it does in little increments and situations much to his chagrin and he is constantly on guard.
We meet people in her past life and how they may have been involved in her assumed demise.
The author maintains the suspense by doling out small facts of her past to the reader. It’s a psychological thriller that will keep you engaged throughout.

So this was good! I can't believe that at the end she finds out she was actually trying to get in touch with Freddie before the accident! I also think she was trying to get rid of her husband!

Aah the suspense in this book was incredible. I had to keep turning the pages to find out what was happening. I very much connected with the main character. The book was realistic and of course there is lies and secrets involved.

Becka wakes up after a serious accident. As she lies in the hospital, she is unsure of why or how she got there. Initially, her own name escapes her memory. The man by her bedside, Freddie, her supposed husband, fails to evoke any familiar feelings. Despite being by her bedside for days, he remains a stranger to her. The amnesia caused by an accident that saw her car swept away in flood water. Mainly due to some disturbance in oxygen going to the brain, saw her forgetting everything before her accident and the accident itself. She needs to take Freddie’s word for it. She has to let him help her to fill in the missing pieces of herself. Becka begins to doubt everything when she discovers another woman’s clothes stashed behind the boiler. And why is there a teenage girl calling round the house looking for her? instead of it getting easier, Becka is becoming more confused with her situation.
It was a fun read.

WHAT A THRILLER!! This book has EVERYTHING- love, twists & turns, deception, AND murder.

Becka awakes from her accident, with no memory, to her loving husband, Freddie, who hasn't left her side. When she arrives home things seem odd, including the elderly neighbor across the street. As she starts to have "dreams" about her past, Becka needs to figure out exactly who her husband is, and more importantly HERSELF, before it's too late.

This book is perfect for fans of BEFORE I GO TO SLEEP & BEHIND CLOSED DOORS

The very first sentence of Such a Loving Couple by Hayley Smith hooked me. The story highlights that a mother’s love will always prevail.

There’s something captivating about stories of amnesia and memory loss. They draw you in and prompt you to ponder what would happen if you found yourself in the same situation. Imagine gazing at your loved ones, recognizing them, yet being oblivious to your shared history. Where would you even start to unravel the threads of your missing memory?

Plot…

Becka wakes up after a serious accident. As she lies in the hospital, she is unsure of why or how she got there. Initially, her own name escapes her memory. The man by her bedside, Freddie, her supposed husband, fails to evoke any familiar feelings. Despite being by her bedside for days, he remains a stranger to her.

Hayley Smith captures the desolation of having no memories perfectly in Such a Loving Couple. The fear – of not knowing who you are is all consuming. The narrative quickly throws the reader into a spin. You just have to go along with it and hope for the best. The descriptive writing shows exactly the emotion felt at every stage of her memory returning. The empathetic connection between reader and protagonist is done with such finesse, it has you looking for the answer on Becka’s behalf.

Such a Loving Couple is a story about obsession and family. A vivid style The way the story came together was sublime – satisfying, like putting in that final piece of a jigsaw puzzle.

Becka is very easy to relate to. She’s been caught up in circumstances out with her control. How would any of us react to this situation? I think I’d crumble, not knowing my past or the people around me. Becka’s strength is tantamount to her character. She’s strong, grasping each bit of information between her teeth, like a dog with a bone. She won’t give up until all the pieces lock into place.

Nothing is whet is seems in this novel, just who is telling the truth! I do enjoy novels where the protagonist wakes up in a nightmare of not knowing her partner. It’s not an original idea, but this novel keeps the topic fresh and fast paced.

Chilling book, where a woman wakes up after an accident with memory loss, and slowly starts rebuilding her life with her wonderful husband.
Or so it seems.
Some things don't add up - who is the mysterious lady who bakes cakes? A neighbour might be able to help, but her memory isn't the best either.
As the clues develop, things get much darker, and there are expected but also very unexpected twists to come.
