Catherine Walsh wrote another holiday book?! Sign me up!

Walsh’s books are so cozy, heartfelt, and a joy to read. Nothing feels forced or artificial, you genuinely connect with the characters and fall in love with them. Snowed In was no different.

I adored this book. Christian was there for Megan through everything, and he was so sweet. Even though the relationship was supposed to be fake, he was the perfect boyfriend. And Megan was dealing with so much, it was lovely to see him supporting her through it.

And then as they got closer to each other, you’re dying for them to realize the feelings they have… and that’s when they get snowed in and stuck in a cabin in the mountains. Absolutely perfect.

Plus no third act breakup, no miscommunications, no unnecessary drama. Just a holiday romantic comedy that will leave you smiling.

Catherine Walsh writes my comfort reads and I cannot wait to read this one again.

Highly, highly recommend!

Ok, so take modern holiday movie, The Holidate (Yup, that Netflix movie that's showing up on your landing page lately, starring Emma Roberts), and add a pinch of Victoria's storyline from How I Met Your Mother. THAT is the recipe for Snowed In by Catherine Walsh and I am here for it!

Cute, seasonal storyline. Great characters. Overall, I really enjoyed this and flew through it!

The tropes, by the way: Runaway Bride, Childhood Friends, Fake Dating, Home for the Holidays, among others ...

Although I haven't read Holiday Romance by Catherine Walsh, I DID enjoy her other books - The Rebound, One Night Only and The Matchmaker. I'm going to have to check out Holiday Romance because so far I've loved 100% of this author's books! Check 'em out if you haven't already.

Amazing! Catherine Walsh can do no wrong. The bar was set high after last year's Holiday Romance, but Snowed In 100% delivers and is equally as perfect and is a strong sequel.
So many tropes are represented in this story but they all blend so perfectly together without being too kitschy (runaway bride, fake dating, friends to lovers, forced proximity), The banter between Megan and Christian is funny, witty, clever, believable and the dual POVs absolutely works and brings so much perspective and development to the overall story line. The tension and chemistry between the leads was perfection; it made total sense, was believable and relatable. I loved both characters and it was super easy to root for them.
On top of everything else, the holiday backdrop in snowy Ireland just adds to the dreaminess. Overall, the perfect cozy, holiday read.
Cannot recommend enough!
Please let there be a part 3 in the works!

Thanks you to net galley and the publisher for providing me with this readers copy in exchange for a fair and honest review.

The book was a wonderful holiday romance. I was hesitant at first as it sounded just like a few movies I’ve seen in the past. The ole let’s fake date to appease our families.

This book was warm and funny and I was able to finish it in one sitting. I highly recommend if you are looking for a cozy Christmas romance

Snowed In is exactly my type of romcom fiction — it’s funny, swoony, and realistic — and I loved every page of it. I’m so excited that I’ve been introduced to Catherine Walsh and her books, and I can’t wait to read the other four now firmly placed on my wishlist.

Snowed In has everything you could want in a Christmas romance: snow, fake dating, sexual tension, food, decorations, forced proximity, and a massive dose of Irish humour. It grabbed me right from the first page, and I instantly fell in love with Megan (and later, Christian. Oh yes. Christian is my new book boyfriend). There’s nothing like a runaway bride to grab my attention!

Megan and Christian meet up accidentally and decide to fake date just for Christmas, but obviously feelings get involved and things take a very romantic turn. I loved both of these characters so much, and I really want to be friends with them in real life — Megan could knit me a scarf, and Christian could just do absolutely nothing while I stared at his hair. Ahem. In all seriousness though, they’re flawed and sarcastic and so very well written, and I genuinely didn’t want this book to end. Why wasn’t it longer?

Snowed In is a fantastic, seasonal romance which can be read and enjoyed at any time of year. It’ll make you swoon, sigh, laugh, and also be glad there are no creepy foxes watching you in the middle of the night. I loved it, I highly recommend it, and I’m very glad I read it. It gets five out of five Christmas baubles from me!

Such a sweet holiday story. I read Catherine Walsh’s Christmas book last year and loved it. So I was happy that she wrote one this year too. It makes me want to visit Ireland and see all the villages for myself. The story was so touching. Yes it was filled with drama but you could feel the chemistry between Megan and Christian from their first meeting in Dublin. And now I need to read the authors other books because I enjoyed the 2 holiday books so much.

Holiday romances are like hot chocolate - even the most mediocre will get you in the spirit.

But “Snowed In” by Catherine Walsh is like a dark rich cocoa, elevated by world-class banter, loving family squabbles, and copious amounts of Irish countryside. Even the fake-dating trope - too saccharine in most hands - takes a fresh approach here, avoiding cliches to keep it from getting too predictable.

This is my first Walsh holiday romance, but it won’t be my last!

🎄Snowed In Book Review🎄

I enjoyed this story so much. Loved the dual POV, the hero was gone for the heroine straight away and it was so well done. I loved the witty dialogue and the Christmas setting with the Fitzpatrick family.

So heartwarming 🧡🥺

“I want to spend next Christmas with you, Megan. And every day in between. I want to wake up knowing I’m going to see you. I want to know everything there is to know about you and I want to start right now.”

Snowed in was the perfect holiday romance to kick off the season! I loved the witty banter between the two main characters, Megan and Christian, and the development of their relationship from old friends to fake dating to dare I say it… more!

The perfect mix of festive and cozy cute without being too cheesy. I loved reading this up north at the cabin and getting all the warm fuzzies while cozying up by the fire. Highly recommend adding it to your holiday tbr!

This was a sweet read, good to pick up over the Christmas season. I enjoyed the fake relationship and all of the build up. The shared history and going back to your old hometown are always fun tropes. That said, the payoff felt super rushed at the end. I’m not sure the author quite had a vision for how she was going to get there. But a Catherine Walsh romcom is always a good time.

This winter I keep reading holiday romances that have been void of holiday cheer, but SNOWED IN finally delivered on the promise of a Holiday Romance!

Megan and Christian have mad chemistry from the very first scene and I loved their fake relationship turned real. Along the way there is plenty of Holiday cheer with quirky family moments, getting snowed in during a blizzard, holiday movies, and glitter!

SNOWED IN had a perfectly slow burn that I loved and really funny dialog between the lead characters. I chuckled a lot while reading this book!

I took off a star because there were too many characters in this book and it's easy to get lost (and I say that even having read the first in this series). There were both families and a group of former friends and an ex and his new fiance and her family. It was just too much.

But SNOWED IN is my best Holiday read of 2023 so far and definitely one I recommend!

If you picked up this book expecting a forced-proximity romance - based on the title - you will be disappointed. But that doesn't mean this isn't a sweet romance. Megan and Christian are a sweet couple, who grow both together and as individuals. I like a good fake dating trope, and this one was done very well.

Another amazingly funny book by Catherine Walsh!

I am a sucker for a good Catherine Walsh book. The writing was amazing, the story enticing, and the characters hysterical. The book reads like a movies. I always fly through the pages. There is never a dull moment in any of her books and Snowed In is not an exception.

Snowed In is a fake dating trope with a hint of forced proximity and 2 characters you can’t help but fall in love with. Man, do we all want a guy like Christian Fitzpatrick. A guy who pays attention to details, who wants to do the fun stuff, who compromises, and does the big gestures. We all love him and our love continues throughout the entirety of the book. Megan is just an infectious. She is described as a girl just like you and me who LOVES TO KNIT and does not want to draw attention to herself. They are perfect for each other and I love watching their relationship grow as I continued to read.

The writing was absolutely amazing, but the thing I loved most about this book was that it was real. It showed 2 people getting to know each other and then liking each other because of things the other has done. There was no sudden realization of OMG I LOVE HER I HAVE TO TELL HER ASAP. It was real, it was good, I love this book. I highly suggest this Christmas romance to anyone who wants to get in the spirit and get out of a reading slump. Fast pace and lovely the entire time!

Thank you to Catherine Walsh and NetGalley for an advanced copy of this book!

5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. The month of November kicks off “EVERYTHING CHRISTMAS” for me….books, movies, decorations, baking, etc. I am so extremely happy to say that my first holiday book for this season was a PERFECT 5 stars! I loved it!! I absolutely adored Christian and Megan! Yes it was a predictable story…but aren’t most romcoms?! I didn’t mind at all. I caught myself smiling so much while reading this one. It definitely could be made into a Hallmark movie…but then again it was a lot more “spicy” than a Hallmark movie. The chemistry between these two characters was one of the best I’ve ever read in a romcom! I have all positive things to say about this book and highly suggest picking up a copy as it was just released on November 1st.

A big thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

Forced proximity and fake dating? Count me in! I enjoyed Megan and Christian's story. Having them know each other from their home town was an interesting twist on the fake dating for the holidays idea. I loved that Megan had knitted hats for Christian's sheep as a child!

I was a bit worried because I am not always a fan of old drama in a romance but this felt more like Megan dealing with something that was overdue. I did feel like some of the characters could have been a bit more developed. I would have liked to see a bit more of Isaac and Megan's past for example.

While I enjoyed Megan and Christian I wasn't blown away by their chemistry. I was more interested in the aspects of this story that dealt with Megan's past.

After running away from her wedding a few years ago, Megan is dredding going home for the holidays for the first time since her wedding. Christian, is equally not looking forward to going home solo for christmas, the two run into each other in a pub in their town. Having grown up together/been in the same friend group in school. They hadn't seen each other since her wedding that wasn't but they end up catching up over a drink after he walks her home from the pub. She proposes they spend the holiday together with movies and take out and being to busy for their familkes. He proposes a ruse instead...go home together, madly in love.

Fake dating, holiday romance. Then getting stuck Snowed in in a cabin in the woods where they finally lean into their *very* real feelings. 🥰🥰🥰 this was such a fun read to get into the festive season. And it was so fun to have a visit from Andrew and Molly (I loved their book as well!!).

Fake dating for the holidays is a classic setup and one that’s hard to resist – but make them childhood classmates who run into each other in a pub, her a runaway bride who hasn’t been back to her small hometown in years, him a constantly single workaholic who doesn’t want his family asking about his love life, add incredible banter, and set it in Ireland, and fake dating for the holidays gets cranked up to 11.

Though this book is very funny and filled with classic romcom tropes, the runaway bride angle brings a lot of interesting emotional depth and nuance to the story that keeps it feeling very realistic, and not too sugary-sweet.

Definitely pick this one up if you like:
🎄Christmas in Ireland
☃️complicated family dynamics
🪵cabin drama
💕top-tier banter
💋a bit of spice

I’m a sucker for great, witty banter and all things Ireland, so I really enjoyed this one – and will absolutely be checking out more of Catherine Walsh’s books.

Thank you NetGalley and publisher for this ARC publication for an honest review.

I am a Catherine Walsh fan and Snowed In is a continuation from her book Holiday Romance (another total gem!) Christian happens to be Andrew's brother from that book (and Molly also makes an appearance!) This story features Christian and Megan, both who are dreading going back home for the holidays. The two come up with a fake dating plan to make the holidays easier. Yes, the premise is a bit cliche', however, the execution is sweet and swoony perfection! The whole book just made me smile and my heart warm a happy glow...

Another great novel from Catherine Walsh. It was lovely cosy Christmas read. I enjoyed the characters of Megan and Christian including all the supporting characters. It was great to catch up with Molly and Andrew from Holiday romance as well. Highly recommended.

I really enjoyed this book. It was sweet with just the right amount of spice. I loved the fun family traditions that Megan and Christian's families took part in. I also loved the character growth that happened throughout the story. And of course, who doesn't love a little fake dating, forced proximity Christmas magic??

4/5 stars and definitely recommend for a great Christmas read!
