A delightful Christmas read! Makes you want to curl up with a hot chocolate and finish it in one go.
Thank you @netgalley and @bookouture for an ARC of the book! This comes out on November 1st!
First of all it serves so many favourite tropes: fake dating, closed proximity, romantic small town Irish setting and childhood acquaintances turned to lovers! It is everything you would enjoy in a cozy Christmas book!
What I especially liked that I expected some cliches in the book around the Christmas setting and faking part but rather the focus was on Megan and Christian’s witty yet friendly bond, their relationship with their families and how beautifully they find happiness in each other without missing out on any chemistry! Being snowed in at a romantic cottage overnight helped, of course!
This is was a kind of follow up to Holiday Romance (story of Andrew and Molly) whose relationship is also shown in this book! Though this was a first book for me by Catherine but I do see myself happy to read others from the author!
Recommended if you are looking for a cozy Christmas magic romance that has no third act breakup cliches!

The storyline was a cute idea, the fake dating trope. Lots of cozy Christmas vibes!
The two main characters were entertaining and had good character growth.
However, the side characters were focused on a little too much — too many names and situations to keep up with. That, along with the main character’s history preceding the book, took away from the book to me.
I loved the Christmas theme — it has me ready for the holiday season, and has me wanting to read more Christmas themed books ahead of time!
Overall, I would give this book 2.5-3 stars.
This was a super cute winter romcom. Megan and Christian are both dreading returning home for the holidays. Megan doesn't want to because she left her fiance at the alter years ago and the town hates her and Christian because he's alone and his family is all couples up. They decided to fake date but you know how this one goes.
I loved the story and the chemistry between the main characters! Their banter was cute and funny. Loved the winter theme as well!
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for allowing me to read this arc in exchange for an honest!
4.5 ⭐
After loving Molly and Andrews story, I was thrilled to come back to this family and small town and I was not disappointed with what I recieved! Catherine walsh never misses 🫶🏻
Megan and Christian are hot, hilarious and heartwarming all rolled into one and I loved it
The perfect holiday romance to get you in the mood 🎄
Hoping we get Hannah's or Megan's brothers story next 🤞🏻🤞🏻
Thankyou Bookouture and Netgalley for the ARC
Catherine Walsh did it again! I loved this one. I read it in two days (only because I had to go to bed to work the next day). Megan and Christian's story was adorable (there was some heat which was great too). I loved their fake dating scheme for the holidays and this was the perfect follow up to Holiday Romance (which I also loved). I liked that though this one had similar vibes, it was still different trope and plot wise. I was excited to see how Megan stood up for herself against her ex. I LOLed when reading this at times, which is always a win.
Looking forward to whoever is next!
Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the ARC!
Thank you to Netgallery and Bookouture for this arc.
Snowed in is a fake dating / friends to lovers lovers based around the Christmas holidays in Ireland.
After Meg ditch’s her hometown and her fiancé she runs into an old school acquaintance who has just moved to her small town. They hadn’t seen each other in 5 years and both were unhappily heading home for the holidays. Which is where they come up with a plan to be each others backup. Unknowingly the plan would fail and they would fall in love.
This book was the perfect book to get you into the Christmas spirit, it was full of love, laughter and festive spirit. I so enjoyed being in this world and I hope I find a man like Christian!
There’s some spice too, which is always pleasant but what I mostly enjoyed about this book was the author really made you fall in love with the characters. The banter between the two main characters is everything I personally look for in a book. So thank you for that.
Overall, this book was just brilliant and I cannot wait for more Christmas books from this author.
Maybe that could be their thing, a Christmas book writer!

Five years after becoming a runaway bride, Megan runs into her former schoolmate, Christian (brother of Andrew from 𝘏𝘰𝘭𝘪𝘥𝘢𝘺 𝘙𝘰𝘮𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘦) in a Dublin pub. Both are dreading heading home to their small town for the holidays, and decide to form a fake relationship in order to buffer each other from any unwanted/undesired attention while back at home.
This book was hilarious while also being so cute. Christian and Megan’s banter, with each other, and with their families, was so much fun. I loved how well they could communicate, while also taking the piss out of each other.
I loved the setting (Ireland 💚) and the cabin (hot tub!) and the snow. And now I want every side character to have their own book!
Seriously, these books need to be on your holiday TBR list!

This is a total Christmas delight! Catherine Walsh always hits it out of the park with her love stories.
Snowed In has great family dynamics, sarcastic wit and sizzling chemistry between Megan and Christian. I adored them together. They brought out the best in each other and a happiness that neither of them fully realised they deserved.
We were also dealt with some epic romance tropes - fake dating, looking after the other when they’re sick and an epic Christmassy grand gesture (that I would very much love please and thanks).
This was an awesome follow up to Holiday Romance and I loved the snippets of Molly and Andrew that we got too.
If you’re looking for your next Christmas read that feels like a big hug in a book - this is it!
Thank you @netgalley and @bookouture for the DRC!
Folks, that time of year has begun:
HOLIDAY ROMANCE!
And there is no better way to start this cozy season than with this book.
We got Ireland, we got a fake relationship’s, a dual PoV, we got funny comebacks.
Do we need more?
Almost forgot, we got Christmas!
5 stars for this one.
Meghan, the one who got away, and Christian have to go back home for the holidays and they both need a backup who helps them with their families, so they decided to help each other.
I love Christian and Meg’s dinamic, their dialogues, but i loved more how Meghan managed to heal and move on from her past.
She got her chance to finally speak her mind, and she was finally able to be honest with the ones she loves.
And mostly she got Christian, i mean.. the grand gesture was something every christmas lovers would die for!📽️🔥🎄
Also, i thought that was a good plus, there is no third act drama that would change the mood of the reading. It’s heartwarming and tender all through the ending.
You can also have a sneak peek of Andrew and Molly😍
"Take me on a date," I whisper. "A real one.Our first one."
"I can do that," he murmurs. "And then?"
And then?
"Everything,"
I tell him.
"And then everything."
Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for providing me with the early copy in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and feelings are my own.
Megan running into Christian at a pub when she’s been stood up might just be the best thing. Turns out they are both heading home for the holidays and both dreading it for different reasons. Last time Megan was home, she left her fiancé Isaac at the alter and moved to Dublin. The town now dislike her for breaking his heart and never giving him an explanation on why she left. Christian is tired of having to explain to his family why he’s single every holiday. As they talk, Christian tries to convince Megan that they should go back home as a pretend couple so that they can avoid family questions and support each other during the holidays. Megan is resistant at first but then realizes this might be the only way to survive the holidays.
I don’t read a lot of holiday rom-coms, but I’ll have to say I really enjoyed this one! I absolutely loved the banter and chemistry between Christian and Megan. The family dynamics were also super fun! I would definitely recommend you add this to your TBR list if you are looking for a cozy holiday read with fake dating, forced proximity and humour
CW: Controlling relationship
✵Many thanks to Netgalley, Bookouture and Catherine Walsh for gifting me this Advanced Reader’s Copy in exchange for my honest review.✵
This book is going to be the next big Christmas Rom Com!!!
The characters had great banter, I loved the story line and it wasn't too cheesy. Christian and Megan are hilarious together and I loved the style of writing of this book.
I really enjoyed the conflict with the other characters, all aspects felt realistic and kept me engaged through the entire book.
This is the perfect warm, cozy romance perfect for the Holiday season!
This was such an utterly delightful read. When Megan and Christian bump into each other - quite literally - in a pub, they struck on an unusual arrangement to enter into a fake relationship for the festive period. As they head home together for Christmas though, lines become blurred.
I love love love Megan as a character. As a knitter that works in marketing, why wouldn't I?! I also love how much depth both her and Christian have as characters. I also really enjoyed that the drama is Snowed In actually served a purpose for the story. There were no ridiculous twists shoved in for no reason and as a result the story flowed in a really organic way.
Snowed In was my first festive book of the season and I loved every page!
Megan’s story. She returns home. So many dislike her for leaving the golden boy. This is realistic fiction with characters who are intriguing. Even the title is mysterious. Snowed In.. those words bring up a myriad of ideas. Some good. Some not so much. This talented author has written a page turner. Spend an afternoon snowed in with these characters. At times, a little too much detail. Thanks Netgalley.
Absolutely love! I was hooked from the first chapters and couldn't put it down. The characters are charming and relatable. Walsh invokes the feelings of your favorite Christmas rom-coms, and is an absolute must read this holiday season!
Super cute! 10/10, loved it! Fake dating to real dating, no third act breakup, super sweet. There was one weird point for me, which I won't spoil, but it didn't make sense to me with how I think I would've handled it if it were me. I also really liked that there wasn't a point where each of the characters in the fake-dating relationship were like, oh I can't tell them I actually like them and want to date them, they just talked about how they wanted the relationship to be real and continue. I also really liked the epilogue showing they are still together, I imagine most holiday romances breaking up around February after the shine of a new relationship and the holidays are over.
After reading Holiday Romance last year, I was so excited to receive an arc through NetGalley for Snowed In!
Christian is feeling a little lonely with all of his siblings coupling up. He runs into Megan again after he helped her escape her wedding 5 years ago. She hasn’t been to their hometown since. They agree to fake date for the holidays to survive their small home town.
I love a fake dating holiday romance especially with a dual POV. I wish their relationship had become real a bit sooner!
I thought I liked Christmas romances, this book made me realise I LOVE them. A perfect heartwarming read that makes you feel festive no matter the season and the weather outside. This book is beautifully full of well written tropes, making you need to read just one more chapter every time. I’m also a big fan of dual perspective romances so this book ticked all my boxes!

I’m crying and I’m dead
Last (?) year I requested Holiday Romance from Netgalley because I thought, this looks cute - maybe this will make me not hate Christmas Romances and you know what? It was the best damn thing I’d ever read. Fell right in love with every single fucking second and when Matchmaker rolled around I requested that too, curious to see if it would be a one time thing and it WASN’T. IT WASN’T AND I BEGAN TO PANIC because I’m SO good at a one and done with reading and authors, SO good at reading one book and being like oh its okay and then moving on with my life but Catherines books are a genuine addiction that can’t be satisfied.
the author has a way of writing the most awkward, banter filled scenes that have genuinely made me laugh out loud, like so loud the people in my office look at me weird. Like so loud I need to lock my phone and set it down and GUESS WHAT? the chemistry between the characters has the exact same effect. Basically I read five pages, felt too much and needed to set it down to process BUT THEN I feel like I’m missing out and that I NEED to keep reading I NEED to know what happens next and then a few hours later i’m done and then I feel like laying face down on the floor and sobbing because WHY ???? don’t the Fitzpatrick men exist ???? A literal crime against humanity.
Megan and Christian pretend to fake date so they ~dont~ disappoint their families on Christmas and it is a big fat mess from the beginning to end but it is so warm and so heart breakingly cute it makes me want to slam my head into a brick wall. What could go wrong? turns out everything :D But they have each other and turns out again thats all they need
Snowed In by Catherine Walsh releases November 1st and I expect all of you to read it and then tell me how right I was about how good it is
I usually wait to read Christmas-y books in December...but the second my request for Snowed In was approved, I couldn't resist starting it right now. And I am not at ALL sorry. Last year, I read Holiday Romance and decided it was my favorite holiday novel, and this one has many of the same characters in it, all of whom I loved. It's a standalone, so you don't have to read HR first - but you should, because it's just so good.
This one, though, is going on my favorites shelf. It has a few tropes that I can't resist: fake dating, being snowed in together, and falling in love during the Christmas season. And as I mentioned, lovable characters. The entire Fitzpatrick family is one I'd visit anytime, and it was so much fun getting to see Molly and Andrew again and finding out what they've been up to. Christian and Megan were three-dimensional, imperfect humans, with flaws and things they are working on, which made them so believable. And I love the witty dialogue! It felt completely real and sucked me in right from the start. Not to mention the amazing setting in Ireland! Dublin, the Irish countryside, the family farmhouse, the cabin in the snow - I was fully immersed and imagining myself right there with them. All of it flows so well and feels real, and as soon as I started reading it, I did not want to put it down. If life hadn't gotten in the way, I'd have read it one day, but on the other hand, I didn't want it to end.
Catherine Walsh will be an auto-buy author for me from now on, and if you are looking for a cozy, romantic, fun read this holiday season, this is the one to get. It's out on November 1st, so add it to your TBR, you won't regret it. A huge thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for the ARC in exchange for an honest review. (I'll publish my review on Amazon on Pub Day).
Catherine Walsh does romantic comedy well. I especially loved this book set at Christmastime. Megan and Christian make a holiday pact to help out with each other’s holiday obligations. Like with all great romantic comedies the lines of the pact are always get blurry . I had a goofy grin reading this in one go on a Sunday afternoon. Zero regrets of postponing chores to get wrapped up into such a great read. Thank you for the advanced copy in exchange for my honest opinions.
