Snowed In was a delightful, cozy holiday romance! I loved both main characters and laughed out loud a bunch of times throughout the book. Andrew and Molly were two of my favorite characters— little did I know that they have a book of their own. I’m a little anal, so it bothers me that I read them out of order, but I’ll live. The ending is a little bit cheesy, but in a way that I enjoyed anyway. It’s my first Catherine Walsh book, but I will definitely be reading more of her books!

This is mostly going to be the Dayquil talking (typing?? Whatever I'm doing right now) but I’ve just finished Cat Walsh’s second holiday romance and I’m too excited about how good it is to wait until I’m not actively swallowing razors (water, but it feels the same right now tbh) to scream about it for a minute.
In this follow-up to Holiday Romance, we get all the things we expect from Walsh’s writing- great character building, people who actually communicate with each other, and, above all, BANTER. She is the freaking queen of it and I will hear no arguments against this. While initially I wondered if I would end up liking Christian, he grew on me very quickly, and Megan was an insta-love for me as well, so I was fully enveloped in rooting from them almost from the get-go. Fans of Molly and Andrew (book 1) will be pleasantly surprised as they are around a LOT and we get a really sweet next chapter to their story.
I binged this book in one day, even messaging poor Catherine Walsh at 2am my time (so it was like 7am for her in another country, chill out people I’m not a monster interrupting authors at 2am THEIR time) to tell her how much I enjoyed that her characters actually talk to each other, as it helps us get to know them AND understand how they’re falling in love. Too much general conversation happens off-page for me these days and it’s refreshing when you can actually be there for people watching them learn more about each other- and when they’re in a hot tub it doesn’t hurt either.
I saw criticism on another review that being “snowed in” doesn’t actually happen until the 70% mark, but that didn’t bother me at all. We got tons of build up, we got to be around Andrew’s family who we all fell in love with in book 1, we get tons of set up for Megan and Christian, so by the time they actually DO get snowed in, we’re so SO ready for whatever is about to go down (and go down it does).
Anyway.
I’ll probably wish this review was very different once I’m not on the verge of sweet sweet flu-ridden death, but for now this is what I’ve got for you. 5 stars!! Read it and weep (with joy)! Goodbye!

Snowed In comes from the self-declared Christmas girl Catherine Walsh and that title couldn't be any more true. After Holiday Romance last year she has done it again.
A perfect Christmassy romance with some hilarious moments and whitty dialogue. I instantly fell for Megan and was happy to be back with all the familiar characters from HR. I'm sad it's over and that's THE number one sign a book hit exactly all the right spots. Definitely the Christmas book of 2023 and one I will recommend to everyone I know.
Snowed In is like a warm, cosy hug from your favourite person on Christmas Eve in front of the fireplace that you don't ever want to end.

*** Thanks to Netgalley, Bookouture and Catherine Walsh for this ARC in return for an honest review.

Snowed In was an enjoyable, festive story but I expected something more. The main characters were likable, there were funny moments and their dynamic was good, but I didn't feel fully invested in their romance. I hoped to love it as much as I loved Holiday Romance but it missed something. But it was still an entertaining book.

So starting off Zoe was a clear favorite character and I do hope to see more of her ! and am crossing my fingers for her to get her own book! But back to the stars here Meghan and Christian. I really liked their relationship, it was honest and between the two of them there wasn’t all the relationship drama that can sometimes cloud the enjoyment of a good romance. Not to say they did not have their ups and downs but overall I enjoyed them as a couple and that was what made me keep reading.

When I tell you I INHALED this book. The perfect Christmas book to get you in the spirit. I loved the banter between Christian and Megan, despite their initial hesitancy they seemed like the perfect match. I really enjoyed how this wasn’t a “stereotypical fake dating” scenario and their was depth to each of the characters stories. Also I really loved the character Zoe, her dialogue genuinely had me laughing out loud. Only wish we had more of their story in the epilogue, it felt a random spot to end on. Although I understand the reasoning it gave a full circle moment which was very sweet. Overall great book, light and easy read just what you want when picking up a Christmas book!

Snowed in ! The book I was looking forward to the most this year. It did not disappoint. I absolutely loved this just like holiday romance last year it came me all the feels. Nice to get to know Christain alot better as he was one of my favourite characters in H R. Catherine Walsh really is a fantastic author.

Summary: Megan was once a runaway bride and has since avoided returning home for the holidays. Everyone took the jilted groom’s side because they don’t know what he did. When she runs into Christian, an old classmate, and he offers a way for both of them to get through Christmas, she ignores all the red flags and signs a contract napkin to make it official.

Thoughts: Christmas in Ireland? Yes, please.

I loved this book! Catherine Walsh is so effortlessly funny. The dialogue between characters had the perfect dry, witty humor and I was guffawing at sections. Yes, I said guffawing, nothing is dramatic enough for the sounds I made.

I am seriously sad to be done spending time with the characters in this book. They were so refreshing with how mature they handled emotions and communication. It kept the entire book feeling just healthy and filled with joy.

Now I just need to know… how am I supposed to read any other holiday romance after this?

Thank you to the author, publisher and NetGalley for providing me an eARC in exchange for an honest review. These thoughts are all mine!

I've never read anything by Catherine Walsh but this had me sprinting for my Kindle for more of her novels.
As with most Christmas romances, this was sickeningly sweet in places, but I could cope with it because Megan and Christian were so charming and perfect together. The constant chemistry and authentic conversations made me never want to finish this. I loved the messiness of their families and how everything just sort of fit together in its own chaos.

I felt Isaac turned up maybe one too many times and it seemed to get a bit repetitive, but apart from that, I loved every second. A perfect cosy romance as the weather begins to turn colder.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publishers for an eARC in exchange for an honest review, all opinions are my own.

I genuinely believe this was a perfect Christmas romance novel. I loved it,

Megan hasn’t been home since she became a runaway bride four years ago and broke the heart of town’s Golden Boy. Now her brother is making the journey from Australia for Christmas, and it’s time to face the music for her family. Christian is tired of going home for Christmas as the sad single member of the family and dealing with pity and questions. The two run into each other in a pub and hatch a fake dating, ‘be my backup’ plan. Of course, things don’t often go according to plan…

There was nothing I didn’t like about this book. I loved Megan and Christian. I loved their families—misunderstandings, communication issues, complicated emotions, and all. It felt very authentic. Bonus: Christian is the brother of Andrew from ‘Holiday Romance’ so we also catch to catch up with him and Molly. There was genuine life conflict and complexities involved throughout this book, but they never felt so heavy that the spirit of hopefulness and the season was lost.

Fake dating is one of my favorite tropes and it was executed in the best way here. There was chemistry from the start and nothing ever felt fake about the connection between Megan and Christian. There were protective instincts, caretaking, mutual respect, and of course, a snowed in moment. The spice was just the right amount. There was open-door steam that furthered the plot and never overwhelmed the story.

This was my third Catherine Walsh book and definitely my favorite so far.

Snowed it set the bar for holiday books, but it might be too high, because I don't know if many can match it.

I'm so thankful to Netgalley and Bookouture for this ARC in exchange for my nonbiased review. You sent have to wait long to grab this one as it will be available on November 1st, 2023.

I read this one in one day. This is a stand alone but I highly recommand reading Holiday Romance by Catharine Walsh. It's one of the best holiday books in my opinion because some of these characters are in Holiday Romance and this is Christian's story.
I instantly fell in love with Christian and Megan. While this is a holiday rom-com. It has other elements too. I loved the dual povs that give Christian and Megan's side.

The setting trashes place in Ireland so get your blankets and hot cocoa or coffee and let this book take you away.

A really cute, funny festive read. Christian and Megan had really good natural chemistry and some really easy believable banter. There were some lovely moments between them that came from their shared history and their reconnection. I really liked how their fake dating plan played out. A really enjoyable supporting cast of characters as well with Megan and Christians respective families. The writing was warm, funny and engaging and the romance was well paced and charming. 4 ⭐️

walsh is an auto-read for me, and her newest did not disappoint (though i am a bit embarrassed to say i made it through the entire novel before without recognizing molly & andrew as the leads from her last book… in my defense, megan & christian’s story is way better…must’ve wiped them from my memory lol). i liked the pacing; there was never what felt like a “slow” part. i liked how quickly the leads bumped into each other and got the ball rolling on their plan. i especially enjoyed the third act and how the traditional drama you’d usually expect at that point in a romance novel was skated around. the banter and dialogue in general between the character was witty and fun to read. i really liked the relationship between megan and christian, and how their “fake” dating (if it ever really was fake 🙂), blossomed, as well as how they supported and listened to each other.

My first festive book of the season! I had intended on this being my Christmas eve book but when it popped up on netgalley, I couldn't wait!
I don't think I can put into words how much I loved this book! I enjoyed Holiday Romance so much, I didn't think I'd fall for this as much but I did. I have fallen hard for Megan and Christian. They have become my new favourites of all the couples in Catherine's books. I devoured this in two sittings. I was grinning ear to ear while reading and did not want it to end! Full of cosy vibes and Catherine's signature wit. There was the perfect blend of drama, swoon and spice 🌶 It was just delicious! It's given me a massive book hangover and I hope Megan and Christian will appear again in future books.

If you're looking for a charming Christmas read then look no further. 5⭐️

Huge thanks to @netgalley and @bookouture for the arc in exchange for an honest review

Snowed In is the follow up to Holiday Romance and I have to say that I enjoyed this one more!! It's a delightfully sweet romance that is full of well written characters and I loved how natural the transition was from fake dating to real romance! And the best part is you get to catch up with Molly and Andrew as well - I'm just sad we don't get to see Molly's reaction to the Christmas sweater.

Thank you to Netgalley, the publisher and the author for the opportunity to read this book.

Thank you to Bookouture and NetGalley for this gorgeous ARC! Megan and Christian’s story was so delightful and despite not reading it at Christmas time, it gave me all the warm and fuzzies of a perfect Christmas romance. I couldn’t help but root for them from their first meeting, and I love how their story was told. My only issue with the book is it does feel a bit crowded and I had a hard time keeping everyone straight at first, but it didn’t seriously impact how much I enjoyed the book. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a cozy, feel good Christmas romance. Love!

I loved Holiday Romance, and this book didn't disappoint. A great balance of rom, com, and rich relationships all around, this was a fun, light read. Perfect cozy vibes to get me ready for holiday reading, enjoyable and relatable characters who felt unique and real, and a romance that stuck the landing!

Snowed In was the perfect cosy christmas read! there's a perfect combination of angst and romance. this is fake dating done to a T! if you read fake dating you'll love this.

Also the pacing of the writing itself was so easy and it flowed perfectly!

over halfway through and i was getting worried the book title wouldn't make sense but it does, it just happens later

Catherine Walsh can do absolutely no wrong in my eyes and when I saw this was being released I knew my bff wouldn’t disappoint and oh my god this book is just so good! I didn’t want it to end. The banter and wit of each character is on par with Lorelai from Gilmore Girls. The backdrop for this romance feels so vivid, and none of the side characters felt one-dimensional or unnecessary. And the romance? I was giggling and kicking my feet. My only complaint is that it was too short.

Will be thinking about Christian, Megan and their story until further notice 🫶🏻

Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture for an arc in exchange for my honest review!

I loved this another part of this great series I discovered not too long ago. Just in time for Christmas, here is Christian's story, which I must say wasn't that complicated. It was really relaxing read, which was probably intended given that this is Christmas story. Definitely will comeback to this author.
