I need the audiobook version of this book! With Pierre's French accent, I can imagine how sexy that would sound. I think he was the better of the two MCs, but I liked seeing him more through Tasha's POV coz he's just so sweet and adorable. His own POV makes him appear more serious and mature which wasn't ideal for me in a light-hearted rom com like this one.

I'm not a fan of the fake proposal idea. I get that none of the story is meant to be serious, but even for a story like this I felt it was very immature and honestly crossing of boundaries when Pierre's agent takes it upon himself to find an American wife for his client. I found the love to be too instant later on in the story. There wasn't any display of true emotions or any of the dilemmas that come with real love. I didn't feel like I was reading something authentic.

The characters weren't layered at all, but I liked what i saw on the surface level. I get that not all romances need to be deep, but this just wasn't it for me.

A Not So Fictional Fall is an incredible romance story by the amazing Savannah Scott. Tasha Pierson is on her way to meet her favorite author, Amelie de Pierre. But, instead, she finds herself a “hot French professor”. After discovering that Pierre Toussaint is the man behind the pen name Amelie, Tasha finds herself in a situation one would only find in romance novels.

This book was magnificent. It was such a feel-good romance, like the type that gets the reader smiling and saying “me when?” every few pages. It’s like I didn’t want this book to end. Some people may be stuck on technical details about the marriage-for-green-card plot, but to be honest it did not bother me at all. I was in it for the romance, and it delivered an absolutely beautiful story. I loved the side characters just as much as I loved Tasha and Pierre (well maybe not Stuart, but he was funny, I’ll give him that). The family dynamic was absolutely heart-warming. I loved how fast Pierre’s sisters accepted Tasha, and I loved how protective Heather was over Tasha. I would like to know more about Heather’s story too! Tasha’s online-to-irls friend group was also very sweet. As someone who has lots of online friends, it was validating to see such a heartfelt friend group.

I loved how Tasha was already attracted to Pierre before knowing who he was, it’s like it was a gift to her: finding out the man you find gorgeous turning out to be your favorite author who needs you to be his fake wife. Another thing I loved was how their first scene was so rom-com movie-like (as intended). She drops the books, and he picks them up (never gets old). But in this case, I too would drop my books if I learned that Amelie was Pierre. All the scenes in the hotel were so fun to read, with Tasha getting to know Pierre the man instead of Amelie the author, and Pierre finding a friend in one of his biggest fans. The dinner scene has my entire heart, I loved how Cass gave her spot to Tasha knowing she was the bigger fan. It was so sweet. Rene was also one of my favorite characters. He was so funny and charming. I loved how much he pushed Pierre to realize that he was in love with Tasha. And well, if he hadn’t written rules to make sure Pierre and Tasha didn’t fall in love, they wouldn't have had the rules to break :)

Tasha and Pierre. I quite literally loved everything about them and their every scene. They went from strangers to friends, to best friends, and I absolutely love a friends-to-lovers story. I loved how supportive and accepting Tasha was towards Pierre, and I loved how considerate Pierre was. AND HE COOKS!!! Like let alone being a ROMANCE writer, the man cooks!! Throughout the book, Pierre almost always prioritizes Tasha’s feelings and does everything to help her in any way, and I loved it so much. The kitchen scene. Both at the Inn and at Pierre’s home. Everything about those two scenes was magical. Also, I have to mention that I screamed every time Pierre called Tasha “Cher”. (I was screaming and crying when Pierre said “I think she liked it when I call her Cher.”) I LOVED that there wasn’t a senseless 3rd act break-up. Yes, there was a conflict, but the characters solved it through communication. I’ve actually never read a romance book without a random 3rd act breakup before, so this book was like a fresh breath of air. I loved how after they realized they were in love with each other, they decided to go back to the dating stage (whilst remaining married). I loved the effort Tasha put into learning French. I loved Pierre’s proposal at the end, and how he memorized the sentence Tasha said when he first proposed. It was so sweet in every way. Basically, this book was perfection.

If you’re looking for a sweet romance story that will make you smile in every single page, making you wish it never ends, this book is for you.

This book delivered more than I expected it to in the beginning! It quickly picked up with the likable characters, marriage of convenience troupe, extra twists AND who doesn’t love reading a fall book in October?!

This was my first book by Savannah Scott but I thoroughly enjoyed her light and witty writing! If you are looking for a clever and loveable book to read while you cozy up under a blanket this fall THIS is it!

Thank you @netgalley for the advanced copy!

Another great one from Savannah and The Sweater Weather series. Pierre was so great and Tasha was hilarious. I loved everything about this book. The chemistry between Tasha and Pierre was perfect. I’m pretty sure I have more highlights then. Non highlights.

This book was beyond adorable. The main character's were ridiculously likeable and the setting was perfect. Love the addition of the French language as well.

If you're looking for a closed door romance that is funny, unique, and revolves around authors and small towns, this is the book for you!

I received this book from netgalley in exchange for a review.

This is my third book in the Sweater Weather series and I have adored each of the ones I have read! I was honestly a little skeptical of the marriage of convenience trope from the blurb of this book, but it was SO MUCH FUN! Pierre was the swooniest of all the swoony MMCs, and is my new favorite book boyfriend. His affection for Tasha was so sweet to read. Their enevitible first real kiss was *chef's kiss*. I can't wait to read more from Savannah Scott in the future. I secretly hope we get another book with Rene. He was the best.

Thanks to Netgalley and the author for a review copy of the book!

Honestly, I loved this book more than I thought in the beginning. It was super fun, lighthearted, sweet, cute, and so cheesy. The story has a great pace; it doesn’t feel rushed. And I read it in less than 24 hours. I loved the family dynamic. It was so wholesome. Also, I loved all the references about Bookstagram and this beautiful community. I felt seen.

Also, I loved their relationship and the straightforwardness of their feelings, avoiding ridiculous problems due to miscommunication, making it a smooth relationship. I just love that they didn’t make it such a huge deal that they were falling for each other. I mean, of course, they did give it the importance it had but didn’t try to hide it or solve it on their own but instead, talk to each other like adults.

Some things were cringy, but they bothered me more at the beginning of the book. And at times, it was a tad too cheesy, but overall, it was a fun read.

If you’re looking for a quick, lovely rom-com, this is the one for you. You’ll enjoy it and flip the pages almost unconsciously.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for giving me an eARC of this book in exchange for an honest review

I didn't really enjoy this book. The idea was perfect. A male author who hid their identity until a book signing, and a woman who helps authors with promo. It was a great idea. I don't know how to explain it, but it didn't work. I think the style of writing and the characters felt like they lacked a bit. I wish I loved this book, but I didn't. Sorry

Ahhhh!! Let me start this review by saying I was *not* prepared for it to send. I literally gasped inside when I saw the words "Epilogue" - what?! This cannot be over already?!

But let's back up to the beginning :)

This was the first modern main character I've read that was French and it definitely added a twist to the plot - the culture, the language phrasing. I was shipping Pierre and Tasha from the start and could not wait for the marriage of convenience to be part of the story - but, it was definitely worth the wait.

Favorite part of the book - when Pierre turns off the stove 🔥 - that may seem ordinary, but if you've read the book - you know it's not!!

Tasha is a romance reader through and through. She is meeting up with her bookish friends to finally meet her favorite author, Amelie de Pierre. Turns out Amelie is really Pierre Toussaint, a gorgeous Frenchman. After some sweet and embarrassing encounters at the author’s event, it comes to Tasha’s attention via Pierre’s publisher that Pierre is in danger of not being able to stay in the country and finish his book signing tour for the year. Tasha must now decide if she is willing to risk everything for someone who is basically a stranger and enter into a marriage of convenience. Of course, Pierre and Tasha cannot deny the growing attraction they feel for each other. Will the two come to terms with their feelings for one another or will their marriage dissolve in a year as planned. Can they convince their friends and family of their whirlwind romance? This is another installment of the Sweater Weather series and like the others in this series, it brings all the sweet romance feels.

A part of the series Sweater Weather . Tasha is going to finally to meet her favourite romance author French Amelie De Pierre . What she didn't exept was that the sexy French man she saw was that author .

When Pierre has a problem with his visa his agent suggest that he marries Tasha because of their chemistry so he can get his green card . While both are worried they afree to marry and after a year they would divorce . What happens when few kisses , hugs and touches make them fall in love with each other ?

Thank you to Savannah Scott for the book to review. All opinions are my own.

Pierre Toussaint is a famous romance novelist. But he has gotten to live in anonymity behind his pen name, Amelie De Pierre. Which suits him just fine. But when his agent has the bright idea to unveil the man behind the book at a literary festival, he meets and is immediately drawn to one of his super fans Tasha.

Tasha is a book lover. She works as an assistant to authors, she narrates audiobooks, she has a Bookstagram. And when she literally bumps into the hot French man who, it turns out, is her favorite author, she is taken aback by this new reality. And she is even more taken aback when his agent proposes to her on Pierre's behalf, or rather for Pierre's sake because he did not know about the ask before the question was posed. And when she says yes to becoming Pierre's wife to get him a visa, neither of them is prepared for what faking a relationship will do to their hearts.
_____
If you like the movie the Proposal, this book has very similar vibes. Tasha and Pierre have much to confront in their ownselves in regards to their feelings about romance. The have to contend with fictional ideals, their own fictional scenario, and their not so fictional feelings. I liked the community around Tasha and Pierre and how supportive they were and how they knew them and pushed them to confront their feelings.

This story requires some suspension of belief with coincidences and the risks taken, but what good romance doesn't require you to take a leap of faith?
_____
This is a closed door, kisses only romance.

There is a bonus scene available by joining the author's newsletter. Make sure and check that out!

This is such a cute book! First of all I love the fact that Tasha is a bookstagrammer, since that’s what I do, I could connect a lot with the character. She also is audiobook reader and author personal assistant. Pierre is romance author Amelia de Pierre, posing as female author, and now has revealed his true identity. It’s definitely a meet cute with these two. When Pierre needs a wife to stay in the USA, did I mention he is French, his people propose (literally) to Tasha. It’s a modern marriage of convenience. I loved how Pierre misunderstands some of the American lingo and makes for some hilarious moments. I loved how they make rules but then break them. I loved their relationship. I felt like them staying in a treehouse together before being married was unnecessary but nothing inappropriate happens. Overall I liked this story and thought it was cute!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.75

Content: share a treehouse before marriage(nothing inappropriate happens), they make noise that implies “marital relations” on wedding night(just making the noise not the doing)

I received an ARC via NetGalley and Victory Editing to voluntarily leave a review. This is book 6 in the Sweater Weather Series, which is a multi-author series of 7 standalone books. This is the first book of the author's that I've read and I would like to read more from her. The book's blurb gives you an idea of what to expect. It's a sweet marriage of convenience romance told through Tasha and Pierre's pov. Tasha is thrilled at the chance to finally get to meet her favorite author and is surprised, like everyone else, when she learns that Amelie De Pierre is not a woman like she thought but rather a man. When he needs her help, she doesn't think too much about entering a marriage of convenience with him. For years Pierre has written under a pen name letting others make assumptions about his identity. When his agent convinces Pierre that it's the best time to reveal himself during his book tour, he agrees but, once he gets some different treatment, he misses the feeling of being anonymous. Meeting Tasha makes him feel comfortable as she's a fan but she treats him normal. When he learns he has visa issues and his agent suggests that he enter a marriage of convenience with Tasha, Pierre isn't sure but he knows he trusts Tasha. The pacing of the story is slow and it took me some time to get into the story but, once I did, I was really into the story. I liked that the story didn't have much conflict and that the focus was on Tasha and Pierre's budding relationship. They had an instant connection, because of their love of books, but they slowly became best friends. While there is some innuendo and an implied intimacy scene (towards the end), this book can be considered a clean romance in terms of sweet kisses and no foul language being used. Aside from their romance, I liked the side characters and hope that Tasha's sister and Pierre's friend get their own books. I also liked all the bookish love and quotes before each chapter. Overall, this is a great introduction for me to the author and it's a book I think others who are looking for a sweet, no stress story will love.

3.5 stars

Pierre is a popular romance author - writing under the name Amelie. His publicist decides it's time for him to announce to the world his true identity, at an Author Meet and Greet.

Tasha and her Bookstagram friends attend Amelie's Meet and Greet and are surprised to find Pierre in her place. Upon learning that Amelie is in fact Pierre, Tasha strikes up a friendship with Pierre, as she protects him from unwanted female attention due to his big reveal.

A Not So Fictional Fall is the 6th instalment in the Sweater Weather Series - a sweet fall romcom series which are all closed-door (no spice) novels. I think maybe I am losing steam with this series at this point, having read the first 5 prior to this. This just moved a bit too slowly, and it was listed as a "Marriage of Convenience" trope, which isn't even mentioned until the second half of the book. I enjoyed watching the friendship blossom between Tasha and Pierre, as she became one of the few people Pierre trusts. This had a good, solid ending and I enjoyed the second half much more than the first. I would have liked to see more Harvest Hollow characters from the previous books, though I can appreciate that these can also be read as stand-alone novels.

A Not So Fictional Fall was perfect for a fall read. Scott gives you all the warm fuzzy feelings. I am obsessed with this book and will be recommending it to all of my book friends.

I have really been enjoying reading the sweet romances in this series. The FMC was very likable and the plot was unique. However this installment felt the least connected to the Harvest Hollow world. Most of the book takes place in another state entirely, and I really missed the small town vibes from the other stories. At the same time, the relationship between FMC and MMC felt pretty …. Surface level. I didn’t connect with their love story. Perhaps it was because the story was very front-loaded and resolved very quickly at the end.

I think a lot of readers would relate to this book - especially the bookstagram community.
