A book that I was lucky enough to obtain before its release, about which I had doubts, but which surprised me, then charmed me.

☕️ Tasha is a book lover and luck has just changed for her: she will finally discover her favorite female author on a paradise island with her bookish friends. But, she absolutely did not expect what would follow, since she discovered quite quickly that her author was in fact a charming and charismatic male author who also needed her help in order to stay in the country for his booktour. Quickly, she will have to differentiate between her feelings and her duty as a falsely married woman.☕️

To make this clear, I have an appreciation-discomfort relationship with this story. The beginning of the story was quite difficult for me. I only started to appreciate the whole thing in chapter 14, but particularly in chapter 18. 📖

Honestly, Tasha’s work made me dream. Assistant author, voice narrator for books and bookstagrammer? Where should I sign? I liked the character of Tasha, in which I saw a lot of myself. Discreet, but fun; soft, but with character. Would I have agreed to marry illegally with a handsome stranger just to “do him a favor” and get money? No. But it wasn’t bad for the purpose of the story. 🎙️

Pierre… is not my type of male character. I enjoyed finding out what little backstory we got from him, but something was missing… development? I don’t know.

Also, marriage is a central point of the story, right? The plot revolves around an unconventional marriage, but we fly over this day so quickly that it is impossible to appreciate it. Where is all the planning, preparation, nerves, time with families, etc.? This happens so quickly that it’s almost possible to forget that they simply didn’t sign a paper, quick and easy. 💐

One of the first things I noticed was the writing and the dialogue. Honestly, I was a little discouraged by the lack of fluidity in the writing, particularly in the descriptions and inner thoughts of the characters. On several occasions, I said to myself: “But who talks to themselves like that?” For me, there was a lack of realism. Also, the English translations of very simple French words and sentences were boring. It’s possible to let the reader do their own research when they don’t know what it means. Or is it because I speak French fluently that it affected me so much? Maybe. And I’m not even talking about the French used which is almost never used, like « une ange » or « Cher » every two sentences… I was even able to detect a few errors in the French text… Was this intended or did the French correction not take place? In short, the writing absolutely did not reach me. 🖋️

What saved the story for me was the romance. She was well planned, took her time through the pages. I liked that each person developed their feelings separately from the other, not for the strange situation they were thrown into, but for the person as such. Usually, I don’t like things left unsaid or miscommunications in stories. But here, it charmed me. They keep coming back to the written contract, which would have been 100% my kind of reaction in such a situation. Without forgetting Pierre’s best friend who got involved and tried to save the situation: it was hilarious! 🍂

I admit that I secretly liked the unique quotes linked to the chapter to come. They were sought after and pleasant. Some particularly touched me, making the experience more personal.

Ultimately, the story was good, very cute and put me in the mood for fall. Tasha was a hit for me and the romance that slowly developed was superb.

The book follows Tasha who is an audible narrator and Pierre who is a French author writing under a pen name.

This book was absolutely ADORABLE, I flipping loved every moment of it, from the marriage of convenience down to Pierre best friend and Nate, Tasha’s nephew.

Rene, Pierre’s best friend is so funny as he’s trying to help his best friend overcome his feelings for Tasha, with all the rules and him flirting with Tasha herself. Mind you, none of this helped out anyway.

Pierre is such a sweet gentleman to Tasha and I love she is their to always help out a friend, even if that mean breaking a law. I loved the friendship that Tasha had with her booksta besties and that they were understanding in regards to her actions.

This book was everything I needed and more, it was for sure a five star read

I can't even with this Sweater Weather series! This book sang to my heart and whispered sweet little nothings to my soul and I couldn't get enough.

Right off the bat, Tasha connected with me. Hello! She's a bookstagrammer, an avid reader, and she adores everything about the autumn season. But best of all? She totally fan-girls over her favorite author and what happens when she goes to meet her virtual book friends and said author had me laughing, swooning, and lapping up every droplet of French charm that I could get my eyes on.

Pierre is every reader's dream...and more. He oozes magnetic appeal and I was crushing as hard as Tasha.

"Those dimples are a crime. They are definitely making me want to do illegal things right now."

Savannah Scott delivers a believable, modern-day, marriage-of-convenience and I was shocked at how invested I was. The honeymoon scene had me laughing soooo hard. Besides the undeniable attraction and connection between Pierre and Tasha, I think Rene almost stole the show. He is an extremely hilarious, yet supportive, best friend.

From start to finish, this book was everything I dreamed it would be. Yay for crossover characters and for a brilliantly engaging and delightful plot.

Content: mild romance (kissing, swoon, light innuendo)

I’ve never craved apple picking more in my entire life then while reading this book! This story is every romance lovers dream come true in the ultimate marriage of convenience. Such a cute and sweet story of Tasha and Pierre complete with an adorable meet cute, crazy marriage proposition, friendship, love, and so many laughs along the way. This story is a must read with some french pastries and apple flavored coffee by your side.

I received this book as an advanced review copy and offer my honest opinion voluntarily.

This book!!! Definitely a reread for me! I loved it so much! So many great characters. I want the author to write stories for all of them! Rene, Heather, Bob, Stuart, the Bookstagrammers, the sisters! ALLLLLLLL OF THEM please Miss Scott! You would make many fans very, very happy! Just sayin'!!! ;-)

Tasha and Pierre were fabulous on their own but put them together and magic happened! Holy Cow!!!! I loved them so much! The mix ups that happened, the long talks, the proposals, the wedding, the family, the honeymoon morning (remember this is a marriage of convenience so no shenanigans), the friendships, the laughs, the longing glances, the lingering touches, the swooniness!!!! Seriously, alllll of it was so much fun! Savannah Scott nailed writing a marriage of convenience trope!

And can I just mention all of the funny American and French slang used throughout this book?! Tasha saying something and confusing Pierre and needing to explain it. And vice versa for Pierre needing to explain his slang or incorrect use of American slang. Wet Chicken anyone? Hahahaha!!!

I've recommended this book to so many of my IRL friends and can't wait for them to dive into it so we can talk and laugh about it! I love the joy that comes from reading books with friends and being able to discuss them! Just like Tasha and her Bookstagram friends!

Oh, stop reading my review and go grab a copy of this perfect Sweater Weather book and read it!!! Don't forget the sweater, comfy blanket, hot cocoa and sitting outside or next to a window watching the fall leaves!

Content: There are some mild innuendos, some sweet kisses but nothing further. This is a book about marriage of convenience so there is a scene where the couple is forced into the same bed for a short moment, but it was kept very mild. I would consider this a clean read but would suggest for older readers.

I received a copy from the publisher, Victory Editing NetGalley co-op, via NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions in the review are my own.

Happy Reading!!!

This is my first one in the series, but certainly won't be the last! I can't always say this, but I LOVED the marriage of convenience in this one and how it played out. This book was a fun one to read - I love all things French (including all French authors named Pierre). Definitely would recommend if you're looking for a quick, cute book to read this fall! Just cozy up next to the fireplace with some hot cocoa and this book, and you're all set! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This was my first time reading a book from the Sweater Weather series . It was fast paced and surely a quick read. The relationship between Tasha and Pierre is adorable. Tasha’s inner thoughts are so relatable I laughed out loud. And Pierre, oh sweet Pierre, he was so respectful and kind. I loved watching their relationship grow as the story progresses from friends to marriage of convenience and to actually falling for one another. This book is perfect to read in the fall next to a fireplace with a pumpkin spice latte in hand. Thanks to NetGalley and Victory Editing for this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

'A delightful closed-door autumn read that will give you all the fuzzies and feels of the season, a true RomCom masterpiece' - The British Bibliophile

A Not So Fictional Fall is book six in Savannah Scott's Sweater Weather series. A standalone novel. This book can be read independently of any other in the series regardless of its number in the series.

This is also my first introduction into Savannah Scott as an author. I was browsing NetGalley for a potential new read, and this book was in the newly listed ebooks and immediately stood out. Firstly due to its cover. I was after a typically autumn read and this cover screamed autumn, without even having to look at its title. That in itself, was the second thing to draw me in. Without reading the blurb, it was obvious that it was to be a book set within this season with some bookish link. An immediate green flag. The third and final thing to draw me in was the blurb itself. After reading quite a few dark/mafia romance novels as of late, this was a perfect book to balance out with its storyline and romcom nature.

Props to Savannah for getting in contact with me personally to inform me that this is a 'closed-door' romance. For those of you who don't know what that is, a 'closed-door' romance is a book in which intimate scenes between characters are hinted at on the page but don't take place in front of our eyes. For some this might be an automatic DNF--because we book girls do love action on the page--, but I encourage you to give this and other closed-door romances a chance. They might surprise you as to how good they are, as this read did with me.

In contrast, an 'open-door' romance is where we get to see things happening on the page. Just so you know.

Tasha Pierson--our leading lady--lives for happily ever afters. Here in this book is her chance to get said happily ever after when she gets to meet her favourite romance author in the flesh. Only, she's in for a surprise. Her favourite romance author, Amelie De Pierre, is not all she seems. For when Tasha meets 'her' in person, she finds out that the person behind the books that make her weak at the knees is in fact, a man. He's the real-life epitome of a book boyfriend in appearance and when he speaks to her in his enchanting, crooning French accent, she's putty in his arms. Metaphorically speaking, that is.

Stripping her of her usual put-together countenance, Tasha is stammering and blushing over Pierre, two things she doesn't do normally. That is the effect of a man who can write a seriously good romance novel and be equally as besotting off-the-page as he is within them. Good thing this change in her will only last for the duration of their brief meeting right? Wrong.

Back in the safety of her home, Tasha's heart continues to beat out a samba when unexpectedly receiving a call from Pierre's agent. That isn't the heart-thumping part. What is, is the proposition of marriage. Not to the agent, but to Pierre himself. They want Tasha to marry the internationally renowned romance author, Pierre Toussaint.

A Not So Fictional Fall was every bit as enjoyable as it promised to be from its blurb. Taking a chance on a new-to-you author is always a gamble and at times like these, it pays off with a romantic comedy read that will have you laughing behind your screen at what you are reading. This is truly a situation that can only happen in a romance novel, and I loved where Savannah went with it and took us. Pierre and Tasha were lovely to read and get to know through their story, and I couldn't have asked for a better introduction to the world of Savannah Scott through them.

I'll definitely be back for more, and I'll be putting the rest of this series on my backlist of books to read.

If you want to dive into something light-hearted, romantic-yet-funny this autumn, this is the read for you.

A Not So Fictional Fall is the sixth closed-door romantic comedy in Sweater Weather, a connected series by various authors; each book can be read as a stand-alone.

Tasha Pierson is an audiobook narrator and author assistant living in Asheville, North Carolina. Her older sister, Heather, is her best friend. Heather is the manager of the Cataloochee Coffee Shop in Harvest Hollow, North Carolina, which is the setting for the Sweater Weather series. Tasha is meeting four fellow Bookstagrammers at a writer’s conference off the coast of California, where Tasha’s favorite romance author, Amelie De Pierre, will be the featured guest.

Frenchman Pierre Toussaint has written 22 romance novels under the pen name Amelie De Pierre. His publicist has decide that he should reveal his true identity at a writer’s conference in California, kicking off his latest book tour. Pierre has just told his family and best friend, Rene, about his secret identity. He is staying in Harvest Hollow, North Carolina for a year so he can enjoy different scenery while he plots his latest book. Pierre is very introverted and lives a quiet solitary existence. He is not interested in a romantic relationship since being dumped by his girlfriend, Camilla, years earlier.

Tasha is thrilled to meet her bookish friends in person and flabbergasted when she discovers that her favorite romance author is the extremely handsome man she met in the hotel elevator. Tasha and Pierre hit it off, especially after she rescues him from overzealous female admirers. Her group of five bookstagrammers and Pierre socialize together, going out to eat and dancing. Both Tasha and Pierre are surprised when pictures of them are published online.

A few weeks after returning to North Carolina, Tasha is surprised when Pierre’s agent contacts her to request a secret meeting. It turns out that they discovered Pierre had the wrong kind of visa when he was making arrangements to travel to Canada. So the best option to keep Pierre in the US is for him to get married. Pierre offers to pay Tasha $250,000 for a two-year marriage, and she is tempted because she has student loans and wants to help finance her sister’s purchase of the coffee shop.

I love a good marriage of convenience story, particularly when the main characters are attracted to each other. Neither Tasha nor Pierre have any major flaws, so there is little angst in this story. A Not So Fictional Fall is a funny dream-come-true romance with behind-the-scenes views of an author’s life. I enjoyed the many French phrases sprinkled throughout the book and the overall niceness of the characters. This is a great addition to the Sweater Weather series, and I will definitely be reading more books by this author.

I received an Advance Review Copy (ARC) from NetGalley and Victory Editing Co-op for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

I don’t know how she keeps doing it, but Savannah Scott continues keeps making me fall in love the characters she creates. And that most definitely includes Tasha and Pierre from her latest book A Not So Fictional Fall. Tasha is a lover of books. She works as an author assistant as well as a narrator, and now she’s taking the trip of a lifetime, meeting up her online bookstagram buddies and getting the chance to finally meet her all-time favorite author: Amelie De Pierre. Little did anyone know that Amelie De Pierre is not a woman but rather is actually the pen name of Pierre Touissant, who happens to be the drop dead gorgeous guy she spots in the hotel lobby. Savannah hits all the right notes. We get a fun meet cute which then rolls into the classic romance trope of fake dating/marriage leading to real love. (Pierre needs to be married to stay in the country to continue his book tour.) It’s a wonderful trope, one of my favorites, and I absolutely loved how Ms. Scott acknowledges it being a trope, to the point of having Tasha think on it even as she watches Sanda Bullock’s The Proposal. Tasha and Pierre are wonderful characters, but so are all the support characters, especially Pierre’s best friend Rene. Is the story predictable? Yes, but in the best possible way because in the best romances you fall in love with the characters and want to see them get their HEA. I’d like to thank the author, publisher, and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review A Not So Fictional Fall.

I've found a new favorite author! I stumbled on this book through the series, and this has been one of my favorites. The chemistry between the characters was believable and dreamy. I found myself thinking just like Tasha...how can this be!?!? The writingnis easy to follow, the plot is believable and not hokey, and the romance is clean. I love harvest hills and ms. Scott did the series justice. Highly recommended!

A Not So Fictional Fall by Savannah Scott
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

A sweet, warm closed door romance with marriage of convenience that you can’t help falling for. This was my first book by @savannahscott_author and it won’t be the last!

Please note that I received an ARC from @victoryeditingngc @netgalley . Publication date is October 5th, 2023.

Synopsis: Tasha is a bookstagrammer and happens to get a chance to meet her favourite female romance author at a book event, only to find out that it’s a man - Pierre - behind the pen name. He is an absolutely hot Frenchman, much like the hero of the books he writes. In certain turn of events, Pierre needs to get into a fake marriage with Tasha to secure his stay in the US.

My Thoughts:
It was a delightful read well worthy of the Sweater Weather series as it made me feel warm inside with all the cozy chemistry between Tasha and Pierre. I found myself smiling and sometimes giggling through the book. It played out like a perfect Fall romance movie, that I would love to watch on Netflix! In fact, the book gives a shoutout to one of favourite movies - The Proposal!

I liked that both the main characters were so kind and loveable. Of course, nobody seduces so effortlessly like a Frenchman. 🥰 Who can resist him when he calls you his ‘Cher’! The book beautifully describes how Tasha and Pierre’s relationship grows from friends to lovers with some swoon worthy moments.

If you like marriage of convenience trope with slow burn, then this is the perfect book! 🌻Also, the leads being a bookstagrammer and a romance author, is already so much fun!

P.S. I loved reading the quotes cited from different authors in every chapter heading!

A Not So Fictional Fall by Savannah Scott is out today! This lovely read takes place in Harvest Hollow, as do the rest in the beautiful Sweater Weather series. A Not So Fictional Fall is so beautiful and fun—there are so many great tropes in this one. Mistaken identity, forced proximity, and a marriage of convenience combine into a beautiful story. Throw in a Frenchman, chemistry for days, and, of course, “the rules” that every fake relationship has; you won’t want to put it down!
Pierre has just revealed to the world that he is the author behind some well-loved romance novels. Where he thought he might lose fans, he discovers the opposite. Some very committed “fans” erroneously concluded that he is much more open and amorous than he is, and he has to dodge their advances.
Tasha has loved Pierre’s writing for years, and she was attracted to him when she saw him across the lobby before discovering his identity. Now that she knows, she wants to help him.
Pierre and Tasha find themselves in an easy friendship. Their friendship and Tasha’s desire to help Pierre come in handy when problems are found with Pierre’s visa, and his agent knows just the right thing to solve the issues. Throw Pierre and Tasha into a temporary marriage of convenience. But what happens when real feelings get involved, especially with those pesky rules involved? Dig into this sizzlingly sweet closed-door romcom to see how they get their HEA!
I was given a complimentary copy. My thoughts and opinions are my own.

If you like any of these tropes, then this book is for you!

Tasha and her bookish friends meet together at a book convention. She can’t wait to meet her favorite romance author and get her signature. Only when she’s waiting in line, does she find out the true identity of her favorite author. He is a man, named Pierre and was writing under a pen name. They meet a few times over the weekend. A few weeks later, Tasha gets a call from his agents. They want her to marry Pierre!

This was such a wholesome story, especially for a marriage of convenience trope. It was cute and cozy with the fall vibes and the characters. Overall, I enjoyed this one. Be sure to snag this one as it launched today!

Thank you to NetGalley for my arc. This is my honest and voluntary opinion.

Another book in the Sweater Weather series. If you enjoy a nice clean romance this is the book series for you.
This book is about a fake marriage (one of my favorite tropes) of convenience. Love the twists to this book as it starts off with a big shocker about who Pierre is. He and Tasha have an instant connection and she saves him a few times in the book. Their chemistry you can feel even if both don't realize it right away.
If you are looking for a feel good romance, check this one out.

Tasha was finally going to meet her favourite romance author, Amelie De Pierre, in person. Only, she thought Amelie was a woman, but it turned out it was a pen name for Pierre Toussaint. Their first meeting was funny, with Tasha being dumbstruck at his looks and the fact that his was a secret identity.

Weeks later, she gets a call from his agent, proposing a marriage of convenience between her and Pierre due to a logistics mishap that meant Pierre was in the States illegally.

She agreed after giving it a thought, though they barely knew each other aside from the few encounters they had at the island retreat. They developed a friendship as the wedding date neared. Feelings weren't in question until after their first kiss, at which point Rene, Pierre's best friend, came to the rescue with much needed rules of engagement 😂

It cracked me up when at some point they were faced with the one bed trope situation and Pierre recalled all the times he'd written it into books, then proceeded to try and avoid it at all costs 😂

They finally admitted their feelings for each other. I loved that Pierre recognized that they lost the early stages of building a relationship and he wanted to restore those experiences by dating her. That made for the sweetest epilogue 😍

Thank you to Netgalley and Publisher for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This was such a lovely, cosy and heart-warming read. We are introduced to Tasha, a passionate bibliophile, who finds her enthusiasm reaching new heights when she secures the opportunity to meet her revered female author at a book retreat. Yet, in a delightful twist of fate, this encounter unfolds with an unexpected revelation: the author, Tasha's literary heroine, is none other than a Frenchman named Pierre, who had been crafting his novels under a female pen name. ⁣

From their very first, somewhat awkward meeting, Pierre finds Tasha's unfiltered authenticity endearing, appreciating her unapologetic realness. Their connection deepens organically as Tasha steps in to rescue Pierre from an overly zealous fan. ⁣

Paparazzi lenses capture their interactions, sparking rumors about a blossoming romance. The plot's pièce de résistance arrives when Pierre's visa troubles come to the forefront. To circumvent his impending departure, he presents Tasha with a proposition: a green card marriage. This sets the stage for a truly unique love story. ⁣

The narrative takes its time to kindle the flames of affection between its characters, but the journey is profoundly rewarding. Readers will find themselves enveloped in a cocoon of charming moments and an ambiance that transports them to the cozy small town of Harvest Hollow, complete with a longing for moments by the fire and the aroma of freshly baked apple treats. ⁣

For those who enjoy slow-burning romances, appreciate straightforward yet engaging storylines, and yearn for the heartwarming embrace of autumn's ambiance, you're going love this book.

The story's premise immediately caught my attention—an unexpected revelation about the real identity of a romance author sets the stage for a charming tale. Pierre Toussaint, the enigmatic man behind the pen name, turns out to be the mastermind weaving those dreamy tales. The vivid description of Pierre, complete with hazel eyes, a strong jawline, and a swoon-worthy French accent, made the narrative all the more engaging. As the plot unfolds, a sudden proposal of a marriage of convenience adds an exciting twist to the story.
The chemistry between the characters, with all the blushing and stammering, was endearing and had me rooting for their relationship. The pacing of the story was spot on—neither too rushed nor too slow.
The characters' growth and their journey through the fake marriage made for a perfect blend of heartwarming scenes and humor.

It felt like a warm embrace on a crisp autumn day, fitting seamlessly into the 'Sweater Weather' series.

This book was hilarious and completely adorable! The premise of this story was right up my book loving alley and I was here for all of it. There were several times I laughed out loud, and this book just made me smile. Tasha and Pierre's relationship was natural and sweet, and I loved it. A truly wonderful read perfect for an autumn day! This is one for my keeper shelf and multiple rereads.

I received a copy of this book from NetGalley and was not required to post a positive review. All thoughts are my own.

Ooooo la la! My swoony French Pierre Toussaint! Oh my gosh I love this Frenchman so much! He’s so subtle, relaxed, sincere, confident yet unassuming. I can see why the ladies melt over him! And Miss Tasha Pierson, who is just genuinely herself, kind, thoughtful, fun to be around, sincere, and easy to be around. Tasha and Pierre seem to have the easy to be around qualities, or it may just be that they are naturally easy to be around one another.

These two meet at an author book signing where Pierre reveals to the world that he has been writing these famous romance novels under a pen name of Amelie De Pierre. Tasha is his biggest (non-crazy) fan and they stumble into a meet-cute when Tasha discovers this swoony Frenchman is signing books at her favorite authors book signing table.

Tasha is at this book event with her Booksta Besties that she is meeting in person for the first time. Yes, her Booksta Besties! What a fun way to tie in Bookstagram and the wonderful book fans that love their authors so much. I loved that aspect of the book!

Tasha gets to go out to dinner with Pierre and discovers he will be holing up on the outskirts of her hometown of Harvest Hollow for the next year while he does his US book tour and writes.

Next thing we know, a proposal may be in the works but not the kind you’d expect. Pierre needs help to be able to stay in the US and his new friend Tasha is the only one who can realistically help him. These two decide to embark on adventure that has them keeping their secrets close and their feelings even closer.

The chemistry between these two is the sweetest slow burn. It’s subtle, delicate, unassuming, and it shows how both of them care for one another.

Pick up this book and get ready to be swooned over by a sweet Frenchman!! 🇫🇷
