I found this book during a professional low. I felt stifled and stuck at work and didn't have any idea what to do next. She Thinks Big is aimed at entrepreneurs more than people sticking to some kind of corporate ladder. I ultimately decided not to start my own business (one of the paths I'd been considering) so a lot of the book didn't apply to me, but there's also a rich vein of professional development ideas here that I found useful and inspirational.
This book is a pretty good resource for entrepreneurs, but there's also helpful information for anyone looking to grow and advance in their careers. If you're into reading professional development, some of the concepts will be familiar. But that's not a bad thing, repetition helps with learning, plus she manages to put her own spin on the explanation and ways the information is applied. While it's a review it's not a complete rehash of other people's work. I really appreciated that she included real examples. It helped to hear how other's struggled and resolved specific problems.
While I haven't yet worked through the questions and exercises, I definitely intend to, soon. I'm especially looking forward to creating a ten-year vision and using that work through some shorter-term goal setting. The next couple of months is perfect for reading and working with the book to get yourself prepared for the coming year.
She Thinks Big is a motivating read for any woman looking to grow her business with the input of a business coach. It offers practical tips on everything from managing cash flow to building a reliable team, with inspiring client stories. It's a helpful guide that plants seeds of trust and credibility if you're interested in taking your business to the next level with her coaching.
