Gotta love a good cowboy story. This one is wonderful! The cowboy and the teacher will leave you loving every minute you spend reading this book!
Presley is a student teacher who has moved to Montana to increase her chances of becoming a full-time teacher. She meets Shane who has been working on a ranch for most of his life and now he would like to buy it. The two of them think this will be just a chance meeting until Shane finds out that Presley is his daughter's first-grade teacher. Now this and a few other hick-ups along the way make for a good story that has you guessing whether they can get together or not. A good story with good characters.
When I started reading Cowboy in Her Classroom, I didn't realize it was part of a series called The Cowboys of Burton Springs. Somehow I overlooked that even though it is right there on the cover. It wasn't that hard to get into the small town of Burton Springs though so I think that this one can be read as a standalone.
Presley is new in town and a few nights before her new student teaching gig starts, she finds herself at a local beer flirting with a handsome stranger. She doesn't catch the name of the stranger and doesn't expected to see him again. That is until he walks into her classroom as the father of one of her students. The attraction between them is still obviously there but the prioroty becomes toe child who is reluctant to go to school.
Shane is a single father raising his daughter Cassie. Her mom is not in the picture as she ran away when she was much younger. He hasn't really had any desire to be with another woman until his run in with Presley. He is super protective of his daughter and the farm that he has worked on for years. The opportunity to actually take over the farm has presented itself but the question is if he will be able to actually afford to purchase it. Shane is a go-getter type of character, does not like to let anything stand in his way, and does not like to be let down.
The mixture of family, romance, and mystery is well done in Cowboy in Her Classroom. Even though there is an attraction between Presley and Shane, their relationship is a slow burn always taking into consideration what it means for Cassie. There is also an older man who continues to show up at the farm and seems to be taking a special interest in Shane and Cassie. The identity of the man ultimately puts Shane on edge forcing him into super protective mode. If I'm honest, Shane did annoy me during this part because he refused to listen to anyone else and always thought he knew what was best. I wouldn't have blamed Presley if she had decided to leave town when her teaching gig was over and never look back. The setting of the farm house plays a crucial role in the romance, the mystery, and the family and I enjoyed watching everything unfold.
This is a good book. The two main characters are Presley and Shane. They meet in a bar, there was an instant attraction. They meet again on the first day of school, Presley is starting her student teaching in the first grade, while Shane is taking his daughter to her first grade class. They start dating. Shane is trying to buy the ranch where he works. Presley is try to find a job when she finally finishes student teaching. They grow close together. There are some issues they have to work out but when they do, they fall in love.
A heartwarming cowboy romance. It is a delightful tale that blends the rugged charm of Montana cowboys with the passion of unexpected love. I loved the characters and the small town essence.
Many thanks to Bell Bridge Books and to Netgalley for providing me with a galley in exchange for my honest opinion.
I enjoyed this boom it was a nice easy read. I enjoyed how they overcame their obsticals tone togather. I reco.mend this title.
I was in my cowboy era and this single dad x cowboy story didn't let me down, it had me sat from beginning to end
Another great book from Pam Mantovani. I loved seeing how Presley and Shaneβs relationship developed from the moment they meet to the end of the book. There are plenty of twists and turns as well as emotional moments and events that the two main characters work through. Both have similar backgrounds in that they were abandoned by their parents and although there is an instant attraction between the two of them Presley is Shaneβs daughter Cassieβs teacher. Can they keep the relationship on a professional level or should they give in to how they feel about each other? A quick and easy read that I devoured in one sitting! Thank you to Bell Bridge Books and Netgalley for the ARC
I've loved cowboys since I was a little girl watching the old B&W westerns on TV. Being allergic to horses, that was the closest that I ever got to a horse or a cowboy, so I just have had to live vicariously by reading about them.
This is a sweet, clean story by a new author to me. She got me at Cowboy. Handsome Shane Abbott was abandoned by his parents during his teen years, when his mother gave his father an ultimatum about leaving the ranch life. But weirdly, they left their son behind with the new owners, Roger and Margaret Douglas, who were better parents to him than his own. His one mess up, was a one night stand, which left him with a baby girl. Cassie is a sweet charmer. Shane manages the ranch, but after the recent death of Roger, Margaret is ready to sell and has offered Shane the chance to buy it- if he can come up with the money or a financial backer. Enter Presley Clark, a new student teacher to Burton Springs. Her first night in town, she meets Shane, but when it turns out that Cassie is in her class, she tries to distance herself from Shane. Also she is only in town temporaliy. Presley has a lot in common with Shane and Cassie. She never knew her father and her mother abandoned her when she was a little girl with her grandmother. Gran changed her life around to take care of her granddaughter, hoping not to repeat the mistakes the she had made with her daughter. Then when her grandmother grew older, their roles were switched, when Gran needed help, so it has taken Presley longer to get her teaching degree. Shane and Presley are drawn to each other, but must walk a careful path because of her job and Cassie. But as the three get closer, more complications threaten their HEA. Love the story and the characters and look forward to reading more books by this author.
I read an ARC the tI found on NetGAlley.com. This is my unbiased and voluntary review.
I really enjoyed this book. Presley and Shane both have been abandoned by parents and let down by the people they loved. I liked that neither shied away from their attraction and even when others thought they shouldn't be together they still went for it.
Usually when a child is included in a book I find their character unbelievable because they are written to sound so much older than the age given. Cassie was just right and didn't take away from the romance at all.
It is always incredibly exciting to discover a new to me author and fall head over kindle for one of their books. Pam Mantovani and ππ’πͺππ’π¬ ππ‘ πππ₯ ππππ¦π¦π₯π’π’π is a prime example of that. I enjoyed reading Presley and Shaneβs love story. I am a huge fan of small town romances and when they include a single parent (in this case, dad) and a hint of the forbidden, I am all in. Once I started reading, I could not put this down. It was sweet and sexy, and oh so satisfying. If you like cowboys you're in the right book.
Presley is just for a few months in the town for practic to be a teacher and Shane is a single parent dad with a farm to buy and see where to get the money.
Cute and lovely story with ups and downs, a beautiful girl in and many complicated things.
Have fun reading!
I received an arc from NetGalley and this is my honest opinion.
This was such an endearing romance with a cute little addition named Cassie. Shane and Presley meet and feel an instant connection however Shane finds out Presley is the new student teacher for his daughter Cassie.
Can the two keep their attraction in check or will the Principal Oleson put a stop to their inappropriate romance?
I think the story was entertaining and I love a cowboy romance. Also, the teacher-dad trope is just taboo enough to bring a bit of heat and is underused in my opinion.
Presley is a student teacher, and Shane is a single father in this delightful romance set in rural Montana. Liked this one a lot and found it hard to put down at times. To be honest though, while I did see the attraction there wasn't an overwhelming spark between the two characters. Still though, strong enough to be pleased with the ending. Would recommend.
Presley Clark has moved to town to do her student teaching. She meets cowboy Shane Abbott on her first night in town. When school starts Shane has a daughter in her 1st grade class. Cassie is a delightful student and needs a little extra help learning to read.
Presley and Shane try to stay away from each other; but they can't seem to help themselves.
Shane is trying to find a backer so he can buy the ranch he works and manages. Presley is worried about her grandmother who raised her.
I really enjoyed Shane and Presley's story. Slow burn as they try to avoid the inevitable crash of chemistry. Cassie was sweet, and the mystery surrounding the guest/investor was intriguing. Can't find the book on Goodreads to copy to.
