Another hallmark Christmas film type of book, that again gets me excited for the Christmas holidays!

I loved the forced proximity in this book, but I personally didn’t like the writing of the book and for me there was just something missing.

I also didn’t realise that there was another book before this (although they don’t need to be read together), but I probably won’t be giving the first book or any future books a try.

An enjoyable , light hearted holiday romance. The main character begins as a frosty character however is thrown together with the man who she soon discovers is not who she thinks he is.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book, finding it the perfect cosy, quick Christmas read, with a good amount of spice. My first read by Liz Alden, who I will be reaching for again!

Cute lil holiday novella. It wasn't anything ground breaking, but I don't expect that from holiday romances, so that's not too surprising. Even though it was a novella, I feel it could have been a few pages longer and would have given a bit more of what was missing. The grumpy wasn't really giving grump, and the insta love wasn't for me.

For a novella this packed a lot of punch!! I loved that it was a co-worker romance and took place over Hanukkah with an only one bed situation. I also really loved that Peter’s sister was trans and that was a big part of the story!! Great diversity, swoony, he falls first romance and lots of family drama. Highly recommended!!

For enabling me to read this book in exchange for an unbiased review, I would like to thank Netgalley and the author. Anyone who enjoys a Christmas romance will appreciate this; therefore, I was quite eager to read it! I adore cartoon covers because I always know that what's beneath them shouldn't be exhibited in or related to a cartoon lol, which is what really pulled me in to request this book. What I really liked was how short this book was and the story as I read it in one sitting. While reading this, I was disappointed quite quickly. I really didn't like the author's writing in this book; she was putting in foreign phrases or slang and expecting people to just know what it was, and the storyline was the most disappointing of all. It was never really clear what was going on, and it was just jumping from situation to situation without any notice and just having to guess what was going on. What I did enjoy was the cultural aspect of this, especially with Hanukkah, the lighting of the candles, and the Jewish baking. Personally, it was the trope that put me off, as it was almost like insta love, which I really don't like. The whole get-together was too quick for my liking, but the found family I loved. Overall, this just wasn't for me, which is really upsetting as this was one of my most anticipated reads for holiday romance.

This was a really cute little holiday novella! I really liked Peter’s family and seeing Kara interact with them. Especially how she was with his niece. The makeup scene had me tearing up. So sweet. I also loved the setting, as I’ve never read a book (other than historical fiction) set in Germany/Switzerland. It was so funny seeing how Kara and Peter’s sister bonded over their love of smutty books 😂 While there were a few things that I wasn’t a fan of, this was a solid little novella and I will read more from
Liz! Thank you so much to Netgalley and Liz for the copy of this book to read and review! All views and opinions are my own.

This had a great holiday feeling and atmosphere but I didn't connect with the leads really at all unfortunately./

This was a shorter read than I was expecting given the premise. At only 154 pages, there was a lot of aspects to this read that I felt were either glossed over or magically fixed themselves without any effort by the characters. For an example, if part of Peter's character is that he's an introvert and tends to keep to himself, then I wanted to see that more on page and see him working through it or actively choosing to try and talk with Kara. But instead we see him immediately thaw toward her pretty much as soon as he sees her with his family and then that part of his personality seems to entirely disappear. I really loved Peter and Kara as their own characters and thought they worked together pretty well on page but they really only spent 3 days together so my inner insta-love skeptic wasn't entirely sure about the HEA we got. We get to see Peter's family celebrating Hanukkah and a little of Kara's family celebrating Christmas. There were some really great heartwarming as well as steamy scenes, but I just felt like Alden was trying to pack a little too much into too short of a page count and as a result we lose some of the development or depth to the story and characters that I really wanted.
Thanks to NetGalley and the author for the ARC.

I received an ARC of this book from netgalley in exchange for my honest review.

I liked this book. I always struggle with novellas because I always want a little more than they can provide in a short length.

Peter is a perfect grump and I liked Kara too, she’s definitely the sunshine. I loved that Peter was Jewish and having all of the Jewish and Hanukkah references and culture was really cool and made me love his family all the more.

There were a few things just weren’t my favorite but overall it was cute and a fun quick read.

FROSTY PROXIMITY By Liz Alden

A closed airport, fifty miles of Swiss countryside, and the threat of record-breaking wind and snow stand between me and flying back to my family in New York. The family that labels my job as a personal stylist as “frivolous” and “shallow.”
My client, Peter, is working just as hard as I am to get me on that plane.
It seems he really doesn’t want me crashing his family’s Chanukah based on the tension in the air and the grunts he aims my way.
Grunts I should not find sexy.
But we may not have a choice. And when his family opens their warm, cozy home to me, I may realize that, beneath his frost, Peter makes me melt.

😊What i liked -

✔ Christmas/Grumpy-Sunshine/Workplace/Forced Proximity.
✔ Love Hallmark Movies, then this is the book for you. Total Hallmark feels.
✔ I loved the way Kara bonds with Peter's family, especially the kids.
✔ It's full of banter, drama, tension and fantastic chemistry.

🤔What could have been better -

✔ Though I liked the book, I felt the pace of the book was really slow.

📚Who Should read :

Frosty Proximity is a novella, and the second book in the Winter Wanderlust series by Liz Alden. I did not read the first book in the series, and while I think returning readers will have a head start on knowing the characters, this novella stands up just fine on its own.

The snowstorm of the century is approaching, and my only hope of getting home for Christmas is my grumpy, rich, and definitely off limits client. A closed airport, fifty miles of Swiss countryside, and the threat of record-breaking wind and snow stand between me and flying back to my family in New York. The family that labels my job as a personal stylist as “frivolous” and “shallow.” My client, Peter, is working just as hard as I am to get me on that plane.

Frosty Proximity is exactly what I was looking for. Peter and Kara are both likable characters that find their way from a working relationship and friends of friends to so much more. This was a fast and fun read, and I loved the get to know you stage and the move on forward. I like that they are both mature enough to talk about disagreements, misunderstandings, and real things while also still having fun and light moments between them. The family moments and caring aspects of this story we just as important and engaging for me as the hotter moments, and I think this novella balanced a lot of important aspects to both Kara's and Peter's lives nicely. I enjoyed this read and think many other readers will as well.

Cute, short, and sweet. A bit of spice, but nothing mega detailed! Novellas are hard for me because I just want MORE, but the focus of this one on found family and traditions and welcoming new into a world of wild was pretty much perfect. Loved Peter and Kara’s relationship and how she helped break down barriers he had put up due to the past. Also love how Kara took up for herself in times when many wouldn’t. Great short story! Thanks for the opportunity to read as an ARC!
