Kara is Peter's personal stylist. When Kara's flight home for Christmas is unexpectedly cancelled due to a snowstorm, Peter invites her to spend the holidays with him at his parents’ house. She reluctantly agrees, after all, her options are limited. With Peter's entire family staying at his parents’ house to hunker down for the storm, the bedrooms are FULL. Peter and Kara decide that as mature adults they can share a room... and thus a bed. Will this platonic bed sharing arrangement turn into more?

I love how this story unfolded. This was a slow burn—but not so slow that I lost interest. I read this in one sitting and could absolutely not sleep until I finished. The main characters were developed beautifully and I found myself invested in their lives. I highly recommend this book to any romance lover—it’s an excellent holiday read! This book is the perfect blend of cute romance and SPICE!

Thank you so much to NetGalley and Victory Editing for this ARC!

Curl up this Christmas with a fun, festive, cozy rom-com! 𝐅𝐫𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐲 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐱𝐢𝐦𝐢𝐭𝐲 is the perfect holiday read. It’s light hearted, sweet, and gender inclusive. I loved so many things about this book. The budding relationship between our MC’s was absolutely swoon worthy. The bond Kara makes with Sylvie made my heart so happy 🥰 And as someone who married into a Jewish family it was really cool to see those traditions explored in a holiday romance.

About 𝐅𝐫𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐲 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐱𝐢𝐦𝐢𝐭𝐲:
With a snowstorm on the way, Kara has no hope of making it home for Christmas. That only leaves her with one option. Spend the holidays with her grumpy, rich, and off limits client. When Peter’s family opens up their warm, cozy home to Kara lines begin to blur between business and pleasure.

The Tropes:
🛏️ One Bed
❄️ Snowed in
☀️ Grumpy x Sunshine
☃️ Client x Business relationship
♥️ He falls first
🎄 Family Christmas

All things considered I genuinely enjoyed this book. I highly recommend picking this one up this holiday season ❄️☃️ Thanks to the author for providing me with an ARC in exchange for my honest review. Now excuse me while I go pull out my Christmas tree and bake some Christmas cookies! ♥️

Kara, a personal stylist, has one job in Europe before she’s back home in NY for Christmas. However, when the snow starts to fall, all flights are canceled and one of her clients, Peter, offers to let her spend Hanukkah with his family. Peter’s family is warm and welcoming and after her short time with them, Kara needs to figure out if her feelings for Peter are real or is she caught up in the holiday magic.

This was such a warm and joy-filled story. It was short and sweet but there was no lack in plot. I felt like I could picture everything in the book and had me feeling nostalgic for a place I have never been. Kara and Peter need a full length novel, I NEED MORE.

This was a short, sweet and enjoyable read!

I'm going to start off by saying that Peter is incredibly cute. I know, I know, he's a hotshot businessman that barely smiles and is too serious for his own good. But, when his walls come down, he is just so incredibly cute!

It's pretty evident that Kara feels the same way about him from the beginning. She's certainly a confusing FMC, flip-flopping between considerate and closed-off, but when we learn about her background, it all makes sense why her walls are up so high.

The chemistry between Peter and Kara is so well-written. I'm not even sure how the author managed to pull it off in such a short story, but the tension between them is palpable from the start.

Short & sweet. Stormy & all the Hallmark feels. What could be better? This was everything I wanted from a grumpy meets sunshine.

YES, that's the kind of holiday romance we all need! It's cute, it's short, it's sexy and heartwarming!
Trans rep thoughtfully done in my opinion (in a side character).
Nothing more to say really... since the book is short no need to explain too much, the description is what you get.
I also didn't know it was part of a serie, even though they can be read on their own (which I did for this one), I now really need to go back and read the first one!

*Thank you so much to Liz Alden and NetGalley for the eARC against an honest review.*

Rating:3.5 to 4 stars
Spice: 🌶️.5

I have to start off by saying thank you to the author and publisher for allowing me an ARC copy of this novella! I will start off by saying I really enjoyed the plot of this story. Kara is a successful personal stylist who has accompanied a few of her clients to Switzerland to help get them ready for a charity event and while there she finally gets to meet another one of her clients,Peter, face to face for the first time. And while the attraction is immediate, Kara and Peter are both determined to keep their relationship professional. Then the storm of the century hits leaving Kara believing she’ll be stuck hunkering down in a airport with strangers for Christmas. That is until Peter extends a grudging invitation to spend Hanukah with his family. And over the course of three days Peter and Kara’s attraction explodes into a whirlwind romance!! One that will have you flipping pages!! Now I will say while I enjoyed the characters and plot of this book and would definitely reread this story again as a quick holiday read, the reason it only gets a 3.5 to 4 star rating for me is that while I love a quick novella and love story, some of the stuff that happened to our characters and their reactions came off a bit shallow or underwhelming. I think that’s just the novella restrictions though. Overall, this book was well worth the read and I thank the author and publishers again for a chance to read this novella early!

HAPPY READING 📖

Frosty Proximity follows Kara who is left stranded for the holidays after her plans to travel home are scrapped due to a snowstorm. Her client, Peter, feeling apologetic invites her to spend Chanukah with his family. This was a fast, heart-warming holiday-themed book. I loved the characters and what they each brought to the story.

I would’ve loved it if the romance between Kara and Peter was more detailed. I wanted to have tiny moments that lead up to their relationship being just clients to more so that it would feel more authentic to me.

However, this is such a great book to pick up if you’re in a reading slump and you want something short and sweet. It’s also a great book to read if you need an easy read.

OH MY FROSTY STARS!!! This is the cutest book ever and perfect for the holiday season!! I absolutely loved it so much!! I literally could not put it down and finished it in one day. Frosty Proximity has a grumpy/sunshine trope, forced proximity, he's her client/she's his professional stylist, hallmark movie vibes with some spice and is filled with tension, banter, chemistry, drama, humor, love, self discovery, wonderful family and amazing friendships!! I really enjoyed that this unique holiday romance focused on Christmas AND Hanukkah. The author does an awesome job making the characters feel real and relatable and I could see myself spending time with them. I am quickly becoming a huge fan of Liz Alden and cannot wait to read more of her books! Such a beautifully written story that will make you smile, laugh and swoon!! 🩵☃️❄️☃️❄️🩵

Kara is stranded in a foreign country with no hopes of getting home for Christmas because a snowstorm of the century has caused the airport to cancel all flights. Her client, Peter, invites her to spend the holidays with his family. However, does Peter really want her crashing his family's Hanukkah? It seems Kara really does not have another option. Immediately, his family is very welcoming and makes her feel like she belongs. The only issue is that space is limited and Peter and Kara end up sharing the only empty bedroom!

Overall, its a sweet, cozy and heartwarming read with a HEA that I highly recommend!! All the frosty stars!!! ✨✨✨✨✨

This was my first ever Novella and it did not disappoint. While I wish it was a full novel, and didn't end so soon, it was perfect the way it is. You are introduced to the Characters, you very quickly grow to love them. The story was faced paced and so fun. The perfect cozy holiday read.

You have forced proximity, Hallmark movie feels, some spice, lots of family time, Trans representation. It was truly an all around very good read that u would definitely recommend!

Thank you to Net Galley and Liz Alden for this ARC. I cannot wait to read more from Liz!

This is such a cute cosy holiday themed novella! The characters were likeable, the writing was great and this is the perfect book to curl up with in a blanket and a cosy drink. I love a good forced proximity/one bed trope and this did not disappoint.

This little holiday novella was SO CUTE and gave me the “sitting in front of a fire with a cup of hot cocoa” cozy vibes. But spicy. 🤌🏽

❄️ TROPES & THEMES ❄️
✔️ one bed
✔️ forced proximity (they are snowed in 🥹)
✔️ he’s her client
✔️ muffled 🌶️ 👀
✔️ “like a hallmark movie - but make it spicy”
✔️ stranded for Christmas
✔️ she’s stuck with his family and it’s SO WHOLESOME!
✔️ HEA stand-alone

Firstly thank you NetGalley and Liz Alden for sending me an ARC! I really had so much fun reading this story. It’s easily bingeable in one sitting. Our FMC is stuck out of country after all the flights got cancelled and her client (she’s a stylist), Peter, takes her home to his parents as they snuggle up and celebrate Hanukkah.

The vibes were so good. The banter and tension was yummy too! I desperately needed a palette cleanser book - and this book not only jumpstarted my reading passion but gave me the urge to skip spooky season altogether and dive right into holiday/winter reads. 🤣

We had spice, we had drama, we had heartwarming moments… and most importantly, an HEA!

I’m so happy I found this story, I loved it so! I can’t wait to read more of Liz’s written works!

I did receive this book as an arc and these are my honest thoughts!

This was another cute and quick read. I love Christmas romances and this one actually combined Christmas and Hanukkah, which made it more unique than most holiday romances out there. Peter was shy at first since he had a crush on Kara, but when things heat up between them, he comes out of his shell and turns on the charm. Kara had a unique occupation, so I have to give the author props for making the characters memorable. I loved their chemistry together, even if they did seem to fall in love a bit too quickly for my liking. But I guess they did know each other virtually for a year, so it's not like they were complete strangers prior to meeting in person.

I loved Peter's family. They were so welcoming to Kara when she showed up unexpectedly with Peter. And Kara's family turned out to not be so bad by the end.

I'm quickly becoming a Liz Alden fan. Her books are always quick and light reads, with heat to go with it.

Kara is stuck in a foreign country when her plane home for the holidays is canceled due to The Storm of the Century bearing down on them. Her employer, Peter, invites her to celebrate with his family. The storm hits shortly after they arrive, trapping her in with Peter and his whole family who decided to bunk together through the storm. Of course, that many people in one house means space is limited and Peter and Kara end up sharing the only empty bedroom in the house.

I love the fact that Peter already admitted to having a crush on Kara before any of this goes down. And that he’s clearly spoken to his family about her in the past. He’s a goner. Kara admits an attraction to him but wants to keep things professional. I also love that while Peter is Kara’s employer, it’s not a big hurdle in their relationship. It’s acknowledged but not fixated on as so many books do.

This story blends Hanukkah traditions with Christmas cheer and small-town charm. It’s sweet with just a touch of spice and the chemistry sizzles. A fun and festive read for the holiday season.

A cute, forced proximity Christmas story.

I enjoyed it overall, but think it suffered from the novella-syndrome. You know, the one where all of a sudden the relationship is rushed. I felt like we went from clients who feel a bit awkward around each other to feeling very familiar and comfortable around each other a bit too quickly. There was no real relationship build up, just a shift that I couldn't pinpoint, if that makes sense. Other than that, I liked the family moments with Sylvia and Juna, and really liked Peter's chivalry and gentlemanly ways.

Kara is a successful personal stylist who's very passionate about her job. Peter, who works in the upper-level management at a social media company, is one of her clients.
And even though she's been working for him for a little less than a year, they just have a cordial professional relationship. But that's about to change. Because the storm of the century is coming, forcing Kara to spend Hannukah at Peter's parents' house, where they'll get to spend more time together ... oh and of course, share a bed :)

2.5/5 because I have mixed feelings about this novella.

I liked ...
1. The mood : I'm a sucker for holiday movies and books. And I can tell you that this one is indeed as Christmassy as it gets (even if technically, Hannukah is the main celebration here).
2. The plot : nothing original about it, we've read and seen this storyline over and over ... but we like it ! I like the simplicity and predictability of it, it’s comforting.
3. THE CHEMISTRY : Is this author a teacher ? Because she just gave us a lesson in chemistry ! ... I'm sorry for this terrible joke. But really ... Peter and Kara ? There's just something about those two that I can’t even explain.

So, anyone who's reading this review (is anyone reading it ?) will wonder why I gave it 2 stars. Well it’s actually 2.5, and I do have my reasons (spoilers coming) ...

1. The MMC (Peter) : I've always had an issue with dual pov, especially in romance books, because most authors do not bother to differenciate a woman's voice and thoughts from a man's. Here's an example (Peter) "I'm thirty two, and so far, I can’t find a woman who wants to settle down and have babies with me". It’s not about what he said, it’s about the way he said it, the words he chose. English isn't my first language, but I'm certain that men usually express that thought differently. Again, this is just an example, there are many other examples that got me eye-rolling hard.
3. The characters : I didn’t like their personalities. Well, this one really is a personal opinion and I won't hold it against the author. But basically, I found Peter rather bland and boring and Kara behaved like a self-centered brat with her family (no, no, it wasn't justified).
4. Sure, they had incredible chemistry, but their relationship was mainly based on physical attraction and nothing more. They had very little in common and didn’t really get to know each other better during those three days. I'm a hopeless romantic, but I'm unconvinced by how they are supposed to have fallen in love in "three days" and immediately started talking about moving countries.
6. What about children ? Kara's dislike for children has been brought up many times, and as we know, Peter wants someone who's willing to have babies with him. But they didn't talk about it afterwards, even in the epilogue (unless I missed it). Such a big issues shouldn't be forgotten about.
7. Sylvie's transitioning - or rather "how the author chose to depict the family drama surrounding it" : in this story, two people reacted more or less negatively to the teen's transition, the great grandmother and Peter's ex. Here's the thing, I know it's a sensitive subject, but I don’t think anyone should blame a 90yo who's "memorie isn't the best" for misgendering someone. Leave her alone, she didn't do it on purpose. Why not just make Peter's ex do it ? That would've served the purpose so much better. Instead, Peter's ex alledgedly ruined Christmas and the whole family's dynamics because she said that buying high end make up for Sylvie was a waste of good product ? I honestly would've made the same comment if someone bought a 14yo expensive make up, regardless of their gender haha. That’s just how I see it.

Ok now I'll stop, this review is getting longer than the novella. Big thanks to NetGalley and the author for giving me access to this e-ARC in exchange of an honest review.

Kara and peter were such a fun couple! I loved seeing all the characters in this book and even though I hadn’t read the first one I could completely understand everything as if it were a stand alone. My only problem was when I would translate some of the sayings they wouldnt come up for the translation kindle version so theres a couple parts i’m really not sure what they say. However, not anything to the point I couldnt understand the gist of what was happening. Loved this book and cant wait to read more by them!

When Kara's work trip to Switzerland ends with her being unable to leave the country due to a snowstorm, one of her clients invites her to spend a few days with his family. Peter is quiet, and hot, and, it turns out, not quite what she expected. Around his family, he brightens up, and Kara can't help but feel like she might belong with his family more than she does with hers. And, of course, when they find themselves sharing a bed, things begin to heat up...

Frosty Proximity is fun, and sweet. The ease with which Peter's family welcomes Kara, and with which she joins in their Chanukah celebrations despite it not being her culture was sweet. And the bonding moments between Kara, a professional stylist, and Sylvie, Peter's trans niece, were really sweet.

I loved Frosty Proximity and, as always, am looking forward to reading more from Liz Alden.
