Leonie has the perfect life. Someone wants to take it away. Leonie is living her best life. Still in her twenties, she’s beautiful, successful and has just met Markus, the man of her dreams. But Leonie has a secret. Ten years ago, she was involved in an accident in which another driver died. Leonie shouldn’t have been behind the wheel that night – no license, no insurance – so she fled the scene. And ever since, she’s been struggling to deal with the terrible guilt. Now, as her wedding to Markus draws near, it seems someone is out to get her. It’s little things at first – botched work appointments, a cancelled bridal dress - but it soon escalates into a terrifying campaign which threatens her business, her family and even her life. Leonie, caught up in a relentless nightmare, has no idea why anyone would set out to destroy her. Until she realizes there’s a link to the accident that happened all those years ago. Someone knows what she did. Someone is determined to make her pay.
This is my 11th or 12th novel by Miranda so I may be a little biased, but I just can't get enough of her novels. Fast paced story lines, just enough details to keep you engaged and just the right length before wrapping it up with a little twist!
Thanks NetGalley, Inkubator Books, and Miranda Rijks for the ADC.

The Homemaker was not my favorite read, unfortunately. I found it difficult to route for any of the main characters, as they were all extremely unlikeable and I found the ending silly and over the top.
Thank you to the publisher for an advanced copy in exchange for a review.
This was a thoroughly satisfying read that I devoured in less than 24 hours. Creepy and twisty, I raced through it. I am not seeking out the author’s other novels.
This was the first book I’ve read by this author and am so happy to have found her! “The Homemaker” is one of the best thrillers I’ve read in a long time! Maria is a fascinating character, and she took me on a rollercoaster. Nothing in this story is predictable. You do get all the answers at the end, but I didn’t see any of it coming. Absolutely loved it and have been recommending this author to everyone, including the library book club.(it’s a perfect group read!). Thank you for the opportunity to read in advance!
A bit late to reviewing but definitely need to be updating NG! This book was good, I did enjoy it and glad I got the chance to read and review it. Thanks
This was CRAZY! I mean it was kind of a perfect storm of circumstances to let someone like Maria in, but my goodness, Imogen, get it together gal and get some rest. I loved every minute of this twisty, crazy, page turner, I flew through it and I could not put down until I knew how Imogen was going to get herself out of this sitch. But let me tell you, it most certainly did not disappoint. This was another winner by Rijks and I cannot wait to read what she writes next!
Thank you to Inkubator Press for the digital copy to review.
The best psychological thriller I’ve read in a long time! I enjoyed the unique plot. Although it didn’t have the most shocking twists, it was definitely a page turner. Miranda Rijks writing is easy to follow and flows smoothly. A bit more character development could have been nice, but great as is!
Kinda ruined by the mediocre and cliche moment when it all ended, otherwise very good!Kinda ruined by the mediocre and cliche moment when it all ended, otherwise very good!
This book makes me think twice about hiring help around the house! It was interesting for the most part. Seems to sizzle out at the end.
Really enjoyed this book. It is well written and has great character depth which kept me Really invested in them and their emotions. The book it written from different view points on the same time line with events set in current times.
Some of the chapter are longer than I usually like but when reading them it doesn't feel as though they are full of unnecessary fill ins.
The book has a couple of small twists but it really concentrates more on the reader knowing the villain, but not knowing what they will do next.
Would definitely recommend this book.
Really enjoyable storyline which had me gripped from the start, wish I could read it again for the first time! Highly recommend
I struggled to get into this once i did it was ok there were pkenty of twists too keep you goibg and put you edge - i struggled to relate too any of the characters which is a big thing for me but overall it was a good read
This book makes you question everything you think you know about every single character. It absolutely delivers the perfect ending!
This book was dark and twisty. The plot kept me guessing as to the lengths Maria would go to to make her daugther love her. I enjoyed the book, but hated all the characters which is always a struggle for me.
3.5 rounded to a 4. Overall a solid read with a few twists and red herrings to keep you into the story.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for this ARC. It started out slow for me but picked up and kept me hanging on for a ride. It was fast paced with many twists! I'd recommend!
The Homemaker by Miranda Rijks was another excellent book especially as it was full of twists and turns throughout that just had you gripped from the very first page till the end. It was fast paced and a great page turner which made it a great quick read, great for your holidays or your day off.
I highly recommend The Homemaker another 5 ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️
Big Thank you to Inkubator Books and Miranda Rijks for my advanced copy of this book to read.
This book was a page turner from beginning to end. A mother dies and leaves a family with questions - her daughter learns she is adopted and is not sure if she wants to find her biological mom. She is struggling with things at home being pregnant and already with one little and so her and her husband agree to hire someone to help. However this new addition to the family has a lot of secrets and brings a lot of baggage into the home. This book has so many twists and turns it had me guessing until the end. Amazing writing. Would highly recommend. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Imogen’s life looks pretty perfect from the outside; she has a loving husband, a beautiful young daughter with another baby on the way, and a budding Bed and Breakfast in the countryside. But Imogen finds herself in need of help juggling her family commitments on top of her new business. She wants to show her husband that the Bed and Breakfast she has worked so hard to create is more than the “hobby” he refers to it as. Imogen is sure she can find success, if only she had more time or help.
Enter Maria, the homemaker. Maria is eager to lend Imogen a hand and help clean the rooms of the bed and breakfast. She seems like the perfect solution to help ease some of Imogen’s stress. But it soon seems Maria is little too eager to help the family and shows up when she’s not welcome. Before long, Imogen realizes Maria is not the helpful addition she desperately needed.
Two women, both harboring secrets. One will do anything to keep them buried while the other will stop at nothing to expose them. Which one will come out on top when pressed too hard?
Miranda Rijks is always an instant must-read and this novel is no exception! It was a thrilling ride from start to finish. I highly recommend this four star read! It was released October 22nd, 2023 - go grab a copy now!

I really enjoyed this and found it fast paced and easy to follow. There were many twists I didn't see coming and it kept me on the edge of my seat for the second half.
