Sisters in Paradise by Carolyn Brown is a heartwarming, small-town romance that celebrates family, second chances, and unexpected love. Ophelia Simmons returns to her childhood home, a former brothel, to reassess her life and career. There, she finds herself at odds—and eventually, falling for—Jake Brennan, the gruff owner of a local winery. Meanwhile, her sister Tertia returns to the same town and faces her own romantic dilemma with Noah Sullivan, a childhood nemesis turned potential love interest. With the help of their matchmaking great aunt, both sisters discover that love, career, and happiness often come from the most surprising sources. Brown’s witty, endearing characters and warm storytelling make this an uplifting, feel-good read.

I enjoyed the book, the characters and got a good laugh from it all with heart warming moments. I'm not always a huge fan of drama in books but I enjoyed it between the characters. The obvious love and care they had for each other in the family even when some family likes to stick their nose in things.

I found this book hard to get into the story. It was okay but didn’t blow me away. The characters were lacking depth and I just felt like nothing was drawing me in.

Thanks to NetGalley, Sourcebooks Casablanca, and the author for the chance to read this book.

This is a nice romance novel with a large cast of characters. There's a bit of drama and some hilarity interspersed with plenty of sweetness. Imagine having an aunt Bernie in real life! 😆

I enjoyed the story, but found that I got a bit lost with the characters at times. That's probably on me and not the author though. I am looking forward to going back and reading the first book and then the other books that follow this one.

Ophelia Simmons is back home at the Paradise—the former brothel where her mom raised her and six sisters—contemplating her next career move and dodging Great Aunt Bernie's matchmaking attempts. She is about to meet her match in Jake Brennan, the ruggedly handsome owner of a local winery where Aunt Bernie convinces her to take a job for the summer. At first Ophelia and Jake's personalities clash, but soon enough sparks start flying.

Meanwhile, older sister Tertia Simmons also returns home to look for a new job. Tertia never thought she'd work for, let alone fall for, Noah Sullivan—the boy who once taunted her when they were kids. But when he offers her the job of her dreams in his new café, Tertia finds herself torn between her head and her heart.

As the sisters navigate the ups and downs of love and career with the help of their outrageous great aunt and the rest of the close-knit family, they learn that love can be found in the most unexpected of places—including their own hometown.

Once again Carolyn Brown takes you on a sentimental ride. I really love her books as they feel like you are coming home again. Will recommend to others.

This is a good book. It is about a family that has seven sisters. They have grown up and left their home. They all come back to home with their parents for one of their sister’s marriage. This story is about family, loving, bad and good times. It is about choosing what you want out of life. It is about falling in love. It is really a good story.

I am loving this series and this second book has been just as good as the first in the series. Going back home to find happiness sounds like a great plan for the sisters in this heart-warming and charming book. I am love Great Aunt Bernie and all her matchmaking attempts. She brings light and humour to this story. The two sisters Ophelia and Tertia are great characters too and they make for fun and interesting reading.

The books so far in this series are fun and entertaining, light hearted and family oriented which makes them easy to read and both the story and the characters are relatable. I already have the next book in this series lined up and ready to read so off I go for another great story.

Thank you NetGalley and SOURCEBOOKS Casablanca for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book.

This is book 2 in the series, Sister’s in Paradise. Ophelia is out of the military and returns home to the family home , a former brothal, when her mother and grandmother raised her and her 6 sisters. Grandmother starts matchmaking with the new neighbor who runs a winery. Carolyn Brown always writes great romances with loving families. More books to come with more sisters.

After encouragement from her Great Aunt Bernie to go interview for a job at the local winery owned by handsome Jake Brennan. She does so and gets the job. In the beginning Ophelia and Jake’s personalities have clashed. But sparks begin to fly between them.

Quick Summary: A small town, family affair, women's fiction novel

My Review: Sisters in Paradise by Carolyn Brown is book #2 in the Sisters in Paradise series.

About the Book: Anything can happen in a small town. Well meaning loved ones can set you up. Encounters with familiar and not so familiar friends can happen. Problems and blessings occur. Forever is found when or where, perhaps, you least expect it. For Ophelia and Jake, as well as Tertia and Noah, their stories of connection are an event.

My Final Say: This is just the type of story I adore. It has a homey feel to it. It is about family and community. It is about the newness of relationships. It is about second chances. It is about love.

Other: I plan to go back and read book #1 (Paradise for Christmas). I don't want to miss a thing. Readers who want a story with humor, warmth, and sweetness will enjoy this book.

I love everything Carolyn Brown writes and this is another hit. Her stories of sisters, their struggles and love for each other really hits home. Her characters are so vivid and real it's as if the author is peering through my parents kitchen window spying on my own life! I loved the first book in this series TROUBLE IN PARADISE which came out years ago. It's so fun to revisit the sisters in the old brothel in Paradise and see them all grown up and finding love of their own. I cannot recommend this book highly enough. It's just a fun, fast, entertaining read!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

This was a two for one small town romance!

First we follow Ophelia who returns home where her aunt will not stop trying by to play matchmaker. She soon takes a job at a local winery where she and the owner Jake seem to clash! But soon there is some major chemistry.
Tertia also returns back home and gets a job at a cafe, but soon finds herself torn between her head and her heart.

This was such a fun read! I can’t wait to go back and read the other books in this series! I loved watching the women grow and realize love is not always where you think it is. Carolyn Brown did a great job of making you feel like you’re in this story! I couldn’t put it down! This was such a sweet lighthearted book!

This is a delightful small-town romance novel featuring the Simmons sisters returning to their family home, the old Paradise house, where Great-Aunt Bernie plays matchmaker. The story focuses on two sisters: Ophelia, a former Air Force drone operator, and Tertia, a dissatisfied substitute teacher. Set in a slowly reviving Texas town, Ophelia finds romance with her new boss, winemaker Jake Brennan, while Tertia rekindles a softened enemies-to-lovers relationship with an old school rival, Noah Sullivan.

Great-Aunt Bernie catalyzes these romances, prompting the sisters to reevaluate their desire for relationships. Meanwhile, the family is busy with Ursula and Luna's summer wedding plans and the opening of Luna and Shane’s bait store. The novel features low conflict, focusing on family, sisterhood, and the revitalization of their town. The series continues with hints of future romances for other sisters. "Sisters in Paradise" is perfect for readers who enjoy easy-going, slice-of-life small-town romances.

As the seven Simmons sisters filter back to Paradise, Aunt Bernie is determined to see all of them settled and married. Ophelia Simmons has come home to make her next move whatever that may be. She is definitely not looking for love. Tertia Simmons has also returned to a new job. Will these two sisters be able to forge their own futures? Or will the find the love they don't realize they need? Aunt Bernie strikes again as matchmaker, but are these the two hardest candidates? I received a copy through Netgalley. Thank you NetGalley allowing me to review this book. I truly enjoyed reading about wonderful sisterhood between the sisters. They share, laugh, cry, and stick together. It was funny that our great aunt try hook up by communicating with Universe. We have Aunt that know all and more. On the other, I glad that Jake and Noah each a Simmons sister. What a happy ending for all Simmons sisters that I got know in this book.
