Lexi Winter, the ex-prostitute turned policewoman is back in this third episode of the series. She is such a great character. Smart, fearless, feisty and always thinking outside the box. It was also great to have Dawny, a favourite character from earlier back in this novel, along with her reprobate, but likeable husband Desmond.

When Dawny turns up at Lexi’s flat asking for a favour for Desmond who is being held by a motor cycle club, Lexi and Finn agree to go under cover to meet with the club president, Breen, a particularly nasty and violent character. Once in the club, Lexi recognises some of the members as members of the club she hung out with when she was young and where she learnt her computer hacking skills. The previous club president, Arthur Cronin, was jailed for importing cocaine, but Lexi always had a feeling there was something wrong there, as she never saw him taking or dealing in drugs.

Zander, an old friend of Lexi’s in the club is charged with watching her while she does what Breen asks of her. However, reigniting their friendship results in a complaint against Lexi and her job with the police is terminated and she turns to the club, offering to use her hacking skills for them. Is this really the end of Lexi’s career in the police, a job she has come to love?

This is a really suspenseful, action packed, fast paced thriller. There are bombs, cage fighting, killings, violence and misogyny, all of which Lexi must navigate to survive. Forced to confront her past and what happened with Cronin, we also discover why she has never trusted Cass, her colleague in the police. Even with the dangerous position she is in, Lexi is at her devious best as she blurs the line between crime and justice.

When the local cops were faced with a bombing, one that was similar to ways in the past, they were horrified to learn Arthur Cronin had just been released from prison after ten years. It hadn't taken him long to start on his vengeful and vindictive response to what had happened to his family just prior to him being put inside.

Dawny's husband Desmond was in trouble, working for a Motor Cycle gang - one that cop Lexi Winter used to belong to. Lexi needed to help her colleagues bring Desmond in; find out what was happening within the gang. The new president, Breen, who'd replaced Cronin, was a cruel, take-no-prisoners type of person, but Lexi wasn't afraid of him. With her partner Finn, the two of them entered the world of criminals, determined to do what they set out to do. But Finn was too "cop" and Lexi knew she had to do it alone.

Enter Lexi, cool, calm and unafraid (most of the time). Zander, whom Lexi had befriended when she was part of the MC, was still there, and he was charged with keeping an eye on her. But there was so much going on; too many eyes on her. Would she be able to convince Breen, Rocco and the others to trust her?

Vendetta is the 3rd incredible episode in the Lexi Winters series by Aussie author Sarah Barrie and I was hooked! An electric thriller, the pacing was at warp speed, the twists blew me away, and the outcome was spectacular! What a brilliant character Lexi is!! The author has hit the nail on the head with this series and each episode only continues to get better. I'm looking forward to #4 and have no hesitation in recommending Vendetta and the series, highly.

With thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for my digital ARC to read in exchange for an honest review.

What another great episode in the Lexi Winter series. But, oh Finn, what have you done (no spoilers!!). How to see some of the new characters pop up in the next thrilling instalment!

These are just some of the things I said as I was reading Vendetta.

This series has quickly become a must read for me.

I knew this installment of the Lexi Winter series was going to be one that I would enjoy, but boy that was an understatement.

You will need to have read the first two books (Unforgiven and Retribution) to get the whole Lexi story (and believe me, you want to get the whoooole story).

The emotions I felt reading Vendetta, though, were unexpected.

I felt anger, hurt, disappointment. All the things that Lexi was feeling as she embarked on this part of her story.

I don't want to give too much away, as this story is one you just need to immerse yourself in and just be there as everything unfolds.

In the words of Molly, do yourself a favour and buy this book, you won't be disappointed.

Vendetta is the third book in the Lexi Winter series about a former escort turned police officer in central New South Wales, Australia. It’s helpful but not essential to have read the two previous books, Unforgiven and Retribution, to understand the characters and their relationships. These are gritty police procedural thrillers with a recklessly brave heroine and good support cast.

Lexi is still recovering from injuries sustained in her last case when she is persuaded to go back undercover into the world she thought she’d left behind to help rescue her friend Dawny’s husband - the violent misogynistic biker club she hung out with as a teenager. If they discover her new profession they’ll kill her, so Lexi must use her exceptional hacking skills to ingratiate herself, but then she is betrayed by her own team, and must decide once and for all which side of the law she belongs on.

I’ve really enjoyed these fast-paced tense thrillers - Lexi started out as a vigilante, but is now constrained by the rules - just about - but will still always do what she thinks is right, over what the law says. This has a mad bomber going on a revenge spree and I was genuinely nervous for certain characters. Looking forward to plenty more of Lexi’s adventures please!

Thanks to NetGalley and Harlequin Australia for the ARC. I am posting this honest review voluntarily.
Vendetta is published on November 15th.

Thanks to Netgalley, HarperCollins Australia & Sarah Barrie for the chance to read this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I absolutely LOVED this! Lexi Winter is my favourite thriller heroine by far.
I thoroughly enjoyed Unforgiven & Retribution and I was thrilled to be given the opportunity to read Vendetta early. It lived up to the first two books and then some.

Vendetta was an adrenaline filled epic and I loved every minute of it.
It was good to see all the main players back again: Lexi, Finn, Rachael & the team. It was great to see Dawny back too, getting up to her usual mischief.
The only disappointment for me was the addition of Olivia, as I'd hoped to see some progression with Lexi and Finn. Hopefully that happens in the next book. 🤞

The Lexi Winter series is one of my all time favourite series. It's right up there with the Lacey Flint series by Sharon Bolton, which gives me similar vibes.

Thanks to Sarah Barrie for another fantastic installment, I can't wait to see what happens next.

5 stars from me. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Oh how I love Lexi Winter and I am so excited for another book. Our favourite vigilante cop is back in Vendetta and it is a wild ride. It might be a long book but it flew by, you just have to keep turning those pages to see what would happen next.

Dawny is back!! I missed her in the last book but she is back and she brings trouble with her. Lexi to rescue.. landing herself in more trouble. And this time it is even more dangerous and she comes face to face with her past life. Dead bodies, books, motorcycle gangs. She finds herself on the outer and struggles to know who she can trust. How is she going to get herself out of this situation? a well you need to read it to find out.

Lexi is still the badass, act first think later character that fans of this series love. Vendetta will tal
Le you in a roller coaster ride and back again. Clear your diaries, you won’t want to put it down.

Thanks to Harlequin Australia for my advanced copy of this book to read. Publishes on November 15th.

I loved the motorcycle club. Really gave me a Son's of Anarchy vibe!! But I didn't love that Vaughn wasn't mentioned more. It kinda gets thrown in at the end, almost as an afterthought.

Overall, this was such a wild ride!!! The Third installment in the series not only keeps you guessing but will have you on the edge of your seat the entire way through!!

Thank you to Netgalley, the publisher and the author for the opportunity to read this book.

You are going to want to clear your schedule and remove all distractions as Lexi Winter is back in an explosive new novel.

I became a fan of Sarah Barrie’s work after reading the Calico Mountain series but I must say that the Lexi Winter series is totally next level and the third instalment is the best yet.

Lexi has fast become one of my favourite crime fighting heros, this book had me doubting her loyalties, and now, just like the last time I finished a book in this series, I am eager for the next instalment.

4.5 stars for the next Lexi Winter instalment - Vendetta. Cops and bikie gangs, criminals and vigilantes. This one had it all and gave me lots of feelings:
* Concerned for Lexi - which side is she actually on and how will she get out of this dangerous situation?
* I really like Zander - but he is supposed to be a bad guy - shouldn't like the bad guy right?
* Dawny and Desmond - what have you got caught up in and why did you involve Lexi?
* Finn - why are you listening to Olivia Brighton?
There is mystery, action, explosives, found family, murder, those out for justice and more. Loved it!

Another seat of one's pants reading. A gripping saga of how Lexi brings down the criminals, crossing her path.
Confusing and making the police think, she works with, she has left being a cop, to work back in her old game. Without either side knowing, she was playing a very dangerous game. Loved it, hoping one day she get Vaughan, and brings him down. Wonder if she will ever find love for herself.
So enjoy the series about Lexi
