I really enjoyed this book, but I tend to like the author. The characters were sympathetic and understandable, which I prefer. The story line is a little preachy, but for a good cause(s). I would definitely recommend this to my friends, and you are sorry when the story ends. These are people you want to be.

The story evolves around Marni McGuire is a celebrity cooking show host, her daughter and two friends. Marni and her group of friends gather together to have a good time and also support each other through life problems. I enjoyed reading this book because some of the problems the ladies were going through are relatable. I’ve read almost all of Robyn Carr’s book and this one did not disappoint.

Thank you NetGalley, Harlequin Trade Publishing and MIRA for sending me an ARC in exchange of an honest review of the book received.

Celebrity show host Marni McGuire is single, happy and trying to convince her daughter Bella that she does not need a man in her life. She has been married twice, widowed and divorced. Her best friend and colleague Ellen is also single and feels the same. Bella is having a high risk pregnancy and her marriage is struggling. The intern Sophie is in a toxic relationship that she can’t get out of. Suddenly all four of them are navigating through the changes in their lives. Thankfully the group has each other for support! Another great one from Robyn!

I enjoyed this multigenerational group of ladies and their friendships. These gals enjoyed each others company. They were an integral part of each others lives. I love deep friendships like this. The storyline was great. These people wanted to give back to their community. It was a great read!

Thank you, Harlequin Trade Publsihing/MIRA and NetGalley, for the advanced copy of The Friendship Club.

This was my first Robyn Carr book even though I've watched the Virgin River series on Netflix. It felt a little slow in the beginning, and the dialogue seemed a little too artificial at times, but as I continued reading, the book took some unexpected turns and started dealing with some real issues. All in all, it was a heartwarming read that I would recommend.

Four women come together at a tumultuous time in their lives, forging an unbreakable bond that will leave them all forever changed.

Nevada - Present Day

Marni is a popular television chef. Married twice, and now happily single, she finds herself fending off her pregnant daughter's sudden need to find her mother another man. But Bella's choices leave something to be desired, and Marni, who is not really looking for a man, does wonder if maybe there is the right guy for her out there.

Working behind the scenes with Marnie, Ellen loves being a chef, but wants to stay out of the limelight. Widowed, she is comfortable with her single lifestyle, and happy to spend time with Marni, her daughter Bella, and young intern Sophia. Ellen doesn't feel lonely, nor does she feel the need to date, but when her next door neighbor, a widower, offers to help her with a house issue, she wonders if it would be nice to have him as a friend, at least!

Marni's daughter, Bella, is struggling with the hormones of a pregnancy. She's a lawyer, as is her husband, Jason, and everything seems to be bothering her. She wants her mother to "settle down" with the right man, and she's wondering how her marriage can survive this pregnancy. Why can't Jason understand her mood swings? Why can't he understand her need to not gain too much weight, instead complaining about eating salads for dinner every night? Is he cheating on her? Bella worries about a lot.

Sophia loves her job at the television station working with Marni and Ellen. She also attends college, so has little free time. When she meets Angelo, he sweeps her off her feet with his attention, and Sophia hopes she has found a good guy. But soon, Angelo shows his true self, and it's not pretty. How can she tell her father? And should she bother Marni, Ellen, or Bella with her thoughts?

THE FRIENDSHIP CLUB is a story of modern day women who deal with twenty-first century issues. And it is, of course, a story of friendship and how important it is to be there for each other. Robyn Carr delivers a personal, emotional, and thoughtful story in THE FRIENDSHIP CLUB.

Robyn Carr brings us a story centered around several women, their personal lives, and the connections to each other. There are some difficult topics to deal with from domestic abuse to the devastation wildfires cause to communities. But throughout, this is a story showcasing the strength these women give each other during traumatic times as well as celebrating the special joys of life.

Robyn Carr writes an emotional tale that makes you want to join in the women's shoes and also stand back and shout at them for the decisions being made lol. But that just makes for amazing writing!

I enjoyed Robyn Carr's Virgin River and Thunder Point novels, but this book felt shallow somehow and predictable. If the author went deeper with one or two of the characters, that might have been more engaging. The book started slow and I needed time to track all of the characters. With her other books the landscape was really well developed and in this book less so, perhaps that's another reason why I found the book less appealing. Thanks to Netgalley for an early copy!

I love Robyn Carr books and this was no exception. This book about old & new friends and daughters and all they were going through was great. When friends always come together to support one another it’s wonderful. There were a couple bumps but the came together to help and be the change.

Thank you so much to NetGalley and the publisher for allowing me to read this ARC.

I love Robyn Carr books and this book was no exception. It’s about a group of Friends all around Marni, who is a celebrity chef. She had gone though a rough divorce and her daughter wants her to start dating again but she didn’t want to. But then a farmer stops by with asparagus and she begins to second guess her not wanting to date. Her daughter, Bella is about to have a baby they have tried for years to have. She had to go through fertility treatments and Bella is overly emotional and a little irrational
All these women in the friendship club have some ups and downs. Middle aged women finding love again when they didn’t think or want to find it again. A mom to be finding her struggle with pregnancy and a young woman dealing with a toxic relationship and getting out. I really loved this book! Thank you netgalley for an arc. . .

I have been a huge Robyn Carr fan for awhile now. Her books got me through through 2020, when I obsessively read the entire Virgin River and Sullivans Crossing series. I was super excited when I saw that through @netgalley @harlequinbooks had let me read her newest The Friendship Club early in exchange for a review.

Marni’s life is pretty amazing. A celebrity chef with a tight knit group of friends and co workers. A daughter she adores and a grand baby on the way. But her daughter has been insisting she starts dating. After her disastrous divorce a few years ago she hasn’t been eager to jump into the dating game. But when a sweet farmer shows up at her house with a box of asparagus, she might be willing to explore the idea of a relationship.

Her daughter Bella is feeling overwhelmed by her pregnancy and struggling with her marriage. Best friend and longest standing colleague Ellen, hasn’t dated since she lost her husband after being his long term caretaker but a new neighbour has her reconsidering. Her intern, Sophia, finds herself stuck in what appears to be an abusive and dangerous relationship. Together they will support and love each other through the hard times and celebrate the good ones.

This was basically a one sitting read for me, as all her books are. I did feel this wasn’t quite as cohesive or organized as her previous books. There was a flow between characters and storylines that felt like it was missing. But overall I super enjoyed reading it. I love books with supportive and loving friendships (and relationships) at their core. This book also gets into domestic violence and abuse, and I think that was handled with love and compassion for the woman involved.

If you are looking to add this to your reading list it hits shelves Jan 23 2024.

Rounding up from 3.5 stars. I usually love Robyn Carr books but this one missed the mark for me. The storytelling was good as usual but many areas of the book were repetative and a few just didn't ring true. There was also a lot of content about abuse and stalking which were handled well but are such heavy subjects. I enjoyed the firefighting aspects of this story and to me were the highlight of the book. I will continue to seek out the author's books and look forward to the next one. Many thanks to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for an ADR of this book in exchange for an honest review.

What an uplifting story about the power of friendship. I loved the four characters in the book – independent woman who support each other when the difficulties of life happen.
Once again Carr delivers the perfect escape read.

I want to start this review by saying that I'm a huge Robyn Carr fan. I've read a lot of her books/series in the last few years and have never been able to put a book down for too long. This is the first book by her that wasn't a page turner for me and started off slow. It's a good story though, about the friendship between these four woman of different ages and different stages in their lives and how they are all there for each other during difficult times. The type of friendships we all wish we had and are grateful for the ones we do have.

Thank you to Robyn Carr, Harlequin Trade Publishing, and Netgalley for this ARC

I must admit, it took me a little bit to get into this book but once I figured out all of the characters and how they were connected, I got lost in reading this one. A book about women who meet together in friendship but it is so much more. The cheer each other on, they support each other, they laugh, they cry and when one of their own is threatened, they rally around her to help her get through it. A book about friendships and how they change and how we change. As the book continued, I found myself wishing for this kind of friendship with a group of women. I wanted to be around their table with them. Great book that I recommend to anyone, Thank you #NetGalley for the ARC.

I really like Robin Carrs books and this is a great book about friends coming together to help each other in their time of need which built a strong bond between them and new romances for each of them. It tells about a hard pregnancy and the moods that go with it and a stalker who won’t leave Sofia alone and she is so scared. A great book that is hard to put down

The Friendship Club by Robyn Carr is another winner from the beloved author.

The novel centers around celebrity chef Marni and three other women who, despite being different ages, find strength through each other and this in turns helps them find their inner strength(s).

I'm at an age where I'm now friends with my daughter's friends and those relationships mirrored some in the book and it was very relatable.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and hope to read more of the characters in future novels.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC - all opinions are my own.
