I have loved watching Sydney run over the years. She is a fierce competitor and class act. This book showed the behind-the-scenes trials over a brief period of her life and how it led to the deepening of her faith journey. It was an inspirational book, but I would have loved even more!

I really enjoyed this book. It kept me engaged and it only took a few days to read. I think this is going to be a good book club option for several clubs. I plan recommending to my book friends and I look forward to reading more by this author.

I was encouraged how she overcome all her fears in her story. I really can relate to what she is going through as an athlete , and as person. She inspired me that I can overcome too. Her story hits home for me in my own life. I also believe what she said was so true about "Life with Jesus better." I can not do nothing with him in my life. I truly enjoyed her powerful testimony of faith in God. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own. #Netgalley# #Far Beyond God#

Far Beyond Gold was the amazing story of a young runner who turned everything over to God, realizing that He mattered most, not what she could do. There is si much truth in this story. It is great for young girls as well as older ladies. One of my favorite nonfiction books of the year!

It's a perfect time to read Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone's memoir as the 2024 Summer Olympics are underway in Paris. It's really well done! Although a good portion of her memoir is about her hurdling career, there is also a big focus on Sydney overcoming her fear and anxiety, becoming closer to God and improving her mental health. She takes us from her first Olympic Trials, when she was only 16 and felt very out-of-place and afraid to lose, to the current day (2022) where she is more confident, focused and trusting of the process. She also gives the reader a glimpse of how difficult things could be despite the rest of the world only seeing the amazing success of a young track star. She does an excellent job of portraying her physical, mental and spiritual growth. I also enjoyed pulling up her race videos after reading about them in the book. Thank you to NetGalley and Thomas Nelson -- W Publishing for the digital ARC.
