I never hesitate to recommend a book by Dani Pettrey, unless the reader is not willing to lose a few hours of sleep. Once I start reading any book by Dani, it is nearly impossible to put down.
Christian O’Brady, a PI, and Andi, Forester, an insurance investigator, formally, FBI, both arrive at an art gallery to investigate a heist. The owner, insured for ten million dollars, owns three galleys and they all take a hit. Each has an expensive collection; two of art and jewels and the third, nearly priceless wine. The losses far exceed the amount of insurance coverage.
Christian, with a checkered past himself, spent time as a teen in juvie, however, contributes the changes in his life to his faith and trust in God. He and his siblings are in business together, with his specialty of providing top of the line security systems, as well as his status as a PI.
Andi lost her job in the FBI because of false accusations, that, at the time, were impossible to refute. As Andi and Christian team up to catch the perpetrators of the heists, several murders are also connected to the crimes. Christian brings his sibling business partners into the investigation. What a shock when Andi discovers Deckard, Christian’s brother is the very one who supported the false accusations against her, causing her to lose her job with the FBI.
Many twists and turns take the reader on a wild ride to unexpected places and unforeseen circumstances. Intriguing characters and clues even lead them across the country. When additional details emerge, Dekard teams up with Andi’s best friend, Harper, to disprove his earlier assessment of any wrongdoing by Andi.
From the first page of this gripping, captivating story, I could not turn the pages fast enough. After the last page was turned, continued to think of this riveting story.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions and comments are my own.

ONE WRONG MOVE by DANI PETTREY is not only a fast paced and chiiling thriller, but it is also an inspirational novel with a strong Christian message of redemption, the importance of choices made, forgiveness and second chances. The unforgettable characters, some with their less than happy childhood and young adult years, show how the Lord restores those who put their trust in Him…
The plot is well laid out as former FBI forensic expert, Andi Forester, teams up with former conman Christian O’Brady and his partners in the family P I business, to solve one gallery heist after another, in which the criminals seem to be playing a game with them. Christian’s brother, Deckart, teams up with FBI analist Harper Grace, Andi’s best friend, to solve Anne Marlowe’s murder and to clear Andi’s name with the Bureau…..
All very exciting - and there is also some great romance….
I am not going to tell you any more for fear of spoiling things for you.
I cannot recommend One Wrong Move highly enough as an all round enjoyable read.
I was given a free copy of the book by NetGalley from Bethany House Publishers. The opinions in this review are completely my own.

One Wrong Move is an explosive and fast-paced start to the Jeopardy Falls series and it definitely leaves me eager for the next book! Complex and detailed, with two mysteries to solve, I found the book compelling and hard to put down. I loved all the characters and delighted in watching the various relationships developing. Christian and Andi both have obstacles to overcome to become the strong and faith-filled adults they’ve become, and I loved their chemistry and belief in each other. I highly recommend this book for fans of a good mystery, page-turning suspense, and sweet romance.

Yay, 4 stars!

I really enjoyed this! We follow an art heist that turned deadly and the PI and Insurance Investigator assigned to the crimes. Christian and Andi. Ugh I loved them.

Christian was such a solid rock of a man and I immediately liked him as a character. When he meets Andi, his kindness and compassion towards her was so endearing. He is definitely added to my favourite heroes list.

I found Andi relatable and sweet. She was a great partner for Christian and I just swooned over their romance!

The mystery was good but definitely did not stand out compared to the romance for me.
Art heists don't interest me, but watching Christian and Andi spend time together trying to solve them, was still fun. I also loved the setting of the farm! Christian and his siblings have some acreage with 2 homes on it and I liked whenever they spent time there.

The siblings were great as well! I can see we'll have 2 other couples to follow in the next books and I will definitely be reading them. We got quite a bit a scenes in their perspectives enough to pick up on that romance brewing and their individual personalities. I really like what I saw there.

Again, the romance made me swoon and it totally won the book for me. If not for the bit a uninteresting art heist talk, I would have given this 5 stars.

Oh, one last thing: we also got chapters in the bad guys' perspectives and that brought the suspense factor way up! I liked it.

Definitely recommend this and I am so happy to like another book by Dani Pettrey!

I was given a free copy of this book by the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

Great start to a new series.

Christian and Andi are two likable characters trying to solve a mystery.

One Wrong Move has absolutely all the right moves. The plot had twist upon twist entwining two mysteries, three couples, and more suspects than you could count. The action just kept on coming, my heart pounding out a rhythm with each character.
Christian took his skills from a broken past and turned them into a career that helps others. When he meets Andi while investigating a heist he’s immediately drawn to her. Though hesitant to involve his heart he steps into the waters of a relationship and soon finds he may be in over his head. Will he swim away or find an anchor in Andi?
Andi is an insurance investigator who lost her job with the FBI along with her fiancé when she was framed for botching a case. Now she treads softly when it comes to men. She’s not sure she’ll ever trust again until she meets Christian a man who shares her faith and her drive for the truth. Could he be the one to break down her walls?
The other characters were pivotal to the story and helped it move along at the perfect pace. I was moved by the authenticity of each character’s back story and path to faith.
This was one of the best romantic suspense books I’ve read in a long time and I can’t wait for the next in the series.
I received a complimentary copy courtesy of Bethany House. This is my honest opinion of the book.

One wrong move- dani pettrey
Jeopardy falls book 1 -romantic suspense
I'm a pretty big fan of dani pettreys and have enjoyed all of her books so far, this one wasn't my favorite but, still a good one.

Heists, intrigue, cons, investigations, 2nd chances and most importantly, faith.

We start off following one investigation and end up in an investigation of the past as they continue to unravel what's going on.

Overall I enjoy reading her books and look forward to book 2. You can pre order now!

Blurb:
Taunting riddles.
A deadly string of heists.
Two broken hearts trapped in a killer's game.

Christian O'Brady was pulled into a life of crime at a young age by his con artist parents. Now making amends for his corrupt past, he has become one of the country's foremost security experts. When a string of Southwestern art heists targets one of the galleries Christian secured, he is paired up with a gifted insurance investigator who has her own checkered past.

Andi Forester was a brilliant FBI forensic analyst until one of her colleagues destroyed her career, blaming her for mishandling evidence. She now puts those skills to work investigating insurance fraud, and this latest high-stakes case will test her gift to the limit. Drawn deep into a dangerous game with an opponent bent on revenge, Christian and Andi are in a race against the clock to catch him, but the perpetrator's game is far from finished, and one wrong move could be the death of them both.

My first boo of the new year and it was a great read. Two couples and two twisty crimes, one cold and in the past, the other a current string of art heists. Both with romance that is quick but feels real. Set in New Mexico, but traveling in pursuit of answers, I thoroughly enjoyed this latest novel from Dani Pettrey. It had all the twists I love with characters I quickly cared about. Recommended read!

This romantic Christian suspense takes the reader alongside a PI and art theft investigator, as they chase after a thief who always seems to be one step ahead and has personal knowledge of the main characters. The thrill ride is fun and it was interesting to see the story through a PI/security expert and an art investigator. The faith content is sprinkled throughout the story and is displayed by the main character. There is a fair amount of secondary characters that display unfavourable behaviour (drinking, affairs etc).
There are also 2 different mysteries to investigate and about half way through the story we meet another couple, who we follow (in the first person). I felt this secondary mystery could have ended up in another book. While it is pertinent to the main story, it could have been dealt with at another time in the series. In my opinion, it detracted from the main story,
If you are a fan of Dani Pettrey, this story is definitely worth reading. I may continue with the series but I found her other series more engaging.

Hooray! Dani Pettrey has a new book out, starting a new series set in the American Southwest. She introduces the reader to three women and three men, each of which is smart, talented, and of course, good-looking, but each of whom also has a broken past with secrets they need to acknowledge and allow the Lord to heal. I thoroughly enjoyed the book. It’s very fast-paced, but Pettrey does a great job with pacing – there are interludes when the characters, and the readers, can catch their breath. There are violent thieves/killers on the loose who chase after the six “good guys/gals” and their friends.

I’ve read some Christian suspense novels that leave me worn out and tired of all the killing. Pettrey’s books stand apart in that hope and redemption are woven through the whole book as the characters deal with justice, truth, love, broken pasts, nightmares, and trying to figure out who the villains are.

I can hardly wait for book two!

This was an excellent read. I finished it one day.
Great characters and a fantabulous plot. I was invested from page one.
I love that this book has love, faith and keeps you in suspense throughout the whole novel.
The faith part is my favorite part of the story. I liked how each character turned to God for help.
I thought Andi was done wrong. But then I guess there'd be no story. It was all done very well and I liked the fast action too.
Lots of twists and turns that will keep u guessing. I figured it out from the get go but I still wanted to finish it.
This story had a satisfying ending that left my heart feeling full and happy.
This author always does. When you get one of her books you know you're getting a treat.
Christian was my favorite character. I liked that he believed Andi right off the bat and did his best for her. That's all I'm going to say.
I just wanted to mention that I didn't like Tad much. He made want to scream sometimes with his sneakiness. Ugh!
I also liked the cover. It makes you ask yourself what's really going on in this story. Very well written. I loved every minute of it.
5 stars! Wish I could give it more.
My thanks to Netgalley and Bethany House for a copy of this book. I was NOT required to write a positive review. All opinions expressed are my own.

One Wrong Move has all the intensity of a gripping and terrifying thriller in Dani Pettrey’s new book. I was a little unsettled at the beginning of the book with the mindset of the killer, but I was hooked with the story of the protagonists. There are two stories going on throughout the story. Christian and Andi are working to solve multiple art gallery thefts while Christian’s brother, Deckard, and Andi’s best friend, Harper, are working to clear Andi’s name after being fired from the FBI for allegedly botching a case. I enjoy Dani Pettrey’s books and this is no exception. I recommend the book for those who enjoy a good mystery thriller with some romance and faith thrown in.

This book has a lovely cover but it just wasn't for me. It was hard to follow and the beginning was confusing as to what was going on.

A suspense story with a substantial amount of romance. Initially, it starts out with an act that almost made me put the book aside, but when you get a book for free in exchange for a review, one powers through.

First we have the leading male character who used to be bad, but is perfect now. “I don’t judge people at first glance. I look at all the information before making a determination”. Of course he does. “His instinct for summing people up was a fine-tuned gift.” “The interior of his house was gorgeous, the kitchen looked rustic and gourmet at the same time and the bathroom was stunning.” Top that off with a hot tub in the courtyard and firepit to sit around. I had expected no less. Gentleman that he is, he’s going to sleep on the couch. Of course he needs a pillow which he grabs off his bed where he has a plethora of fluffy pillows. Really? Which male do you know who has a plethora of pillows on his bed? A knot in her neck? Our hero will get the kinks out, thank goodness his forearms ripple with toned muscles, not to speak of his sexy brow and strong, chiseled chest. You get the picture.

Then there are the supporting characters who, luckily enough, are all single, gorgeous, smart and like each other. I see where book two and three will be heading. Then there’s the well doer who has all the money, all the connections and always knows what to do (except when his love interest is in danger.) I was astounded by the actions of the main characters. What makes you go sit out by the fireplace at night, armed just in case, when you’ve been shot at? The two main characters keep going despite having been in an accident and having to scale a rockface to get out of the canyon. I found the suspense part of the story too far-fetched. However, the author knows how to write, even if the type of story is not my style. If you like clean romance, lots of it, this book is for you.

Thank you NetGalley and Bethany House for providing me with an ARC. I was not required to leave a positive review and all opinions are my own.

One Wrong Move by Dani Pettrey traces an art heist from one side of the American country to the other side of the country. The heroine and the hero are both similar because they want to move forward from a huge mistake in their pasts. The truth from their pasts do make them stronger as they evaluate the mystery element and have to learn to work together to help solve the case. Of course, as the mystery ups its game, Andi and Christian must learn to trust each other with the reality of their pasts and learn if they can move forward with the truth. As the clock clicks closer to the climactic ending, Pettrey does a okay job at tightening the noose around the character's necks. The mystery element is not that original, yet predictable. Overall, One Wrong Move by Dani Pettrey does check off all the boxes for a romantic suspense, but I personally, wanted more suspense than the romance.

I received a complimentary copy of One Wrong Move by Dani Pettrey from Bethany House Publishers, but the opinions stated are all my own.

"One Wrong Move" by Dani Pettrey is an action-packed christian suspense novel with a sub-plot of romance. It follows a lively group of characters, including our hero and heroine, as they hurry to solve two different mysteries filled with riddles.

It took me a while to get pulled in to the story but once I did I flew through the book as the mysteries were being unraveled by the characters. Throughout the book we see the characters battle with personal struggles and how their faith guided them, although I would have liked to see more faith elements. The two different mysteries made the plot very dynamic and with various surprises, keeping me intrigued until the end. The romance at times seemed to overpower the mystery aspect of the story, but I did appreciate it being closed-door.
In conclusion, I'd recommend this book to readers who enjoy romantic suspense with faith elements.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher through Netgalley; the opinions stated above are entirely my own.

The start of a new series for author Dani Pettrey, this first book in the series presumably sets up the coming books with an interesting set of side characters. The book contains two stories - one with our hero and heroine, the other with the brother of the hero and the heroines best friend. These two stories play into each other in great twists and turns.

The combination of the two stories made the book seem quite long but since the stories were both interesting, the length is not a problem - after all who wants a good story to end? I liked the main character had a past and how the heroine didn't spend half the book getting over it. The best friend character was well written to help facilitate that. All in all a good story.

I receive complimentary books for various sources including, Netgalley, Authors, and other such sources. I am not required to write a positive review and have not received compensation.

"One Wrong Move" is a Christian romantic suspense novel. It had two mysteries and romances in it. The main story was Christian and Andi investigating the art heists. Christian pulled off some art heists as a teenager, so he's great at setting up security to prevent them, yet someone knows exactly how to break through it. Andi once worked crime scene forensics for the FBI, but she was falsely accused of messing up the evidence and putting an innocent man in prison. It's Christian's private investigator brother who ruined her career, but now her best friend (from that same lab) and his brother investigate her claim that she was set up.

The physical danger to the main characters and others kept the suspense high. The characters were smart, complex, and dealt with realistic struggles. I cared about what happened to them. The romantic pairs worked well as a team and built each other up. The characters were Christians, so they prayed to God to help them, and their beliefs affected their choices. There was no sex or bad language. Overall, I'd recommend this interesting, suspenseful novel.
