I had a bit of a love hate relationship with this story. I loved the story and the friendship that was built between Noah and Grace. I hated how they kept missing a chance with each other because of hurt, pride, stubbornness and bad timing. I enjoyed how the story show the growth that both Grace and Noah went through. I also liked all the characters in this book. Overall it was a great book.

This book was such a good read! The characters were well written and you can see their grow through the book as they both work through their individual traumas. All the different instances that bring them together have you cheering for them and being so glad they are able to work things out in the end.

Tutored in Love is a debut novel for author Barbara Adamson. It is a cute story with a lot of character development. Both main characters have some trama from their past’s that they need to work through before they can commit to a relationship

I enjoyed the way the author used the different points of view in this book. part one of the book was from Grace’s point of view. part two was from Noah’s. And part 3 was from both. I liked getting to see the story from both sides and understand why they reacted the way they did.

I also enjoyed the love story between Noah and Grace. I was cheering them on and hoping they would figure things out and get together by the end.

Overall a great story. I really enjoyed reading it. It is one I will be recommending. !

Very cute! I really liked how this story dealt with some heavy topics such as mental health and how it's a pretty normal thing that can be worked through. I thought that Grace and Noah fit well together and that their struggles really helped them in the end even though in the moment it was super unfortunate. I also liked how the different sections of the book were narrated differently! That doesn't typically work for me, but this one did! My one draw back was about 2/3 of the way through I felt like the book should be over but it wasn't. I liked what happened after, it just dragged a bit in the middle. Super delightful read though!

I really enjoyed this book. It was a book that kept my attention and made me wonder what will happen next and who will end up with who.

Grace is in her last semester of college and has left the vegetables until the end : math . She hates and struggles with math.
After a lot of encouragement she gets a tutor . A tutor that suddenly has a family emergency and now she has a substitute tutor, Noah.
Noah is patient , kind and …. her tutor.

I feel like a portion of the book is about Grace finding peace with who she is and the grief in her life. She finds peace with her life and who she is.

Noah too struggles with grief in his life . He is close with his mother and brother but becomes closer once his brother is in a serious accident. The accident makes him reevaluate his life and the anger he has held toward others.

Noah and Grace continue to run into each other during their life journey . It seems like they are meant to be and then the author throws in another twist. Well done!

What I especially liked about this book is the twists in the story and that the whole plot wasn’t laid out within the first few pages. A wonderful clean romance!

This is one of those middle of the road books for me. I didn’t love it and I didn’t hate it. There were some scenes that had great dialogue, intriguing and moving moments, but some parts that would just drag on with mundane chatter. At times the characters would drive me crazy. Just before part two we were given more insight to explain some background and clarified a few things. There really was some great building blocks for dealing with anxiety, trials, and challenges we all face. The romance was really off for most of the book. I thought of not finishing a few times. Even though I skipped through some parts, it felt like it never was going to end, but when I commit to a book, I do my best to finish it. In the long run I am glad I finished the book the ending was satisfying and pleasant and because of that I’ll give it 3 1/2 stars. If you enjoy lots of descriptive, dialogue and conversations, some therapy building strategies and a little bit of romance. You will probably enjoy this book. It is a wholesome and clean story. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

I liked the book as a whole and felt it was a fast read. I typically stay away from spoilers or saying much about the content of a book but I think it’s necessary as this book will do best with a specific crowd.
I think it’s helpful to know that this story doesn’t immediately jump into the romance. It’s definitely an individual character development long before it becomes a relationship.

I will say that the ending was my favorite part. It made me love it as a whole. Definitely not bad for a debut author.

There were a few nuances that won’t appeal to the general public.

This debut novel is divided into three parts and slowly builds steam as it progresses towards growth.

1️⃣Act I shows us Grace, who desperately needs to pass a college math class, being tutored by Noah, who desperately needs the money. There’s a bit of a grumpy/sunshine business relationship in the beginning. Grace comes off as a little immature and flighty, but she’s still young and inexperienced in life and is likable.

2️⃣Act II was interesting, as they reconnected in Mexico working on a service for an orphanage. It was fun to watch them develop a tentative friendship, but all kinds of secrets from their pasts are revealed here and a lot of character growth results, especially for Noah, as this section focuses more on his life experiences.

3️⃣The final act reconnects this duo once again as they are settling into careers and have intersecting lives with obstacles keeping attraction at bay. Reading more like a women’s fiction, with hazy love triangles, misty attraction, outdoor activities with groups of friends and self-exploration, this book is full of longing, multiple chances and finding the good in life by moving on past the difficult things. I love the reminder that life is all about the timing.

Content: barely there romance; mild talk of religious things (no preaching); talk of off-page alcoholism and death

I absolutely loved this book. The storyline and characters were engaging. I also loved the emphasis on mental health healing.

The book is divided into 3 parts. The first is from Grace’s point of view, the second from Noah’s and the third is dual point of view. I loved how this was done. I loved that we got to go with them on their journey of healing and growth. This journey leading them to being people who can fully participate in a healthy relationship. It was truly beautifully done.

There were so many good things about this book, but I’m hesitant to give much away. I went into it blind and absolutely enjoyed the journey. This is one of those books that reminds me of why I love to read.

I enjoyed this debut novel. If you are looking for a light and fluffy romance, this isn't it. Both characters are dealing with grief and carrying a lot of baggage along with it. And in the beginning of the book, neither one of them is dealing with it in a very healthy way. Along with being a romance, the story is about finding healthy ways to move through grief and carry on in a positive manner. I thought the author did a good job of dealing with a tough subject.
I loved that the characters really had to figure out their own issues before they could be more to each other. And the more they figured out, the more likable they became in my opinion. Their first meeting, and really their second meeting doesn't really show them to best advantage. They had to work on changing themselves first. I liked their introspection as they began to see their own failings and desired to change for the better.
I enjoyed the story.

Christian setting (they attend church and have church activities etc but no sermonizing)
Potential triggers: family member with alcohol problem, loss of a loved one
No sex, language or violence

Overall 3.5 stars for this debut author and her first published book. Initially, before even starting this book I figured this would be the classic girl falls in love with her tutor, some big event happens in the middle and they would eventually have a HEA. However, initially upon meeting the main female character Grace, I did not like her. She appears to be shallow, surface level, indifferent towards other and comes across rude (which I believe, after finishing the book was the intent of the author for you to feel this way towards Grace). However once you learn exactly what she was going through right before we meet Grace you can understand her mental state a bit more and why she was the way she was. Her growth throughout the story (and how much I enjoyed reading and "witnessing" her growth) actually surprised me how invested I was.

Noah hasn't had an easy life and ends up becoming Grace's math tutor. He finds her self centered and rude and has no desire to talk to her about anything other than math. Initially I liked Noah and I was rooting for him, until the unexpected twist (which I did not see coming in and left so surprised but in a good way) and the way he handled that situation. It was clear that he himself had growing to do with the way he handled it.

It's not until they both find themselves on a service trip in Mexico where they realize they're just two lost individuals trying to find their way and from the outside looking in you truly have no idea what someone is going through and their story truly shows that.

I did not realize that this book a quasi-Christian book however the denomination isn't mentioned however there are mentions of bible study classes, attending church, and going to activities planned by the Young Christians Serve committee. While these things are mentioned I do not feel like it overwhelmed the story or that religion was the main focus.

I enjoyed reading Tutored in Love, very much. Romance is not at the top of my list of favorite genres. I do enjoy a well written story. Tutored in Love delivers. The story takes place over a decent amount of time. It shows how lasting relationships take time to build and effort to maintain. The effort is very well worth the outcome. Assumptions are made, only to be proven wrong.

Okay. This book is written in three parts. Part one is from Grace's perspective. Part two is from Noah's. Part three is dual POV. This book wouldn't be considered a romcom. Definitely more women's fiction, although is men's fiction a thing? Because Noah goes on a journey, too, friends. It has a sweet romance, solid character arcs and growth and is worth your time.

Blind date gone wrong, second chances, tutoring, biking, running, Christian undertones, sweet ending. Its a lot of really good things wrapped up in this book!

Thank you to the publisher and @netgalley for the ARC. All opinions are my own.

(3.5 Stars) It has been a while since I have read a contemporary romance set in a religious environment. This is a college setting where there are bible study classes, attending church in the norm as is going to activities planned by the Young Christians Serve committee. While there is no denomination mentioned, if you live in Utah (as I do) and have a child who graduated from BYU (as I do), I could easily envision the fictional campus. With all that being said religion isn’t the focus and attending church is more a place to meet others of similar values. No one is party happy or has vices.

The story is told from the POV of Grace Ebert and Noah Jennings. And in a switch up the first half of the novel is from her view and the second half from his. Without giving away spoilers Noah is Grace’s math tutor. And since it is mentioned in the blurb they both are dealing with grief that impacts their fields of study and their dating lives. Grace and Noah are well developed characters and there is growth for both of them during the book. Occasional lines would knock me out of the story. The rant Grace throws at her best friend's crush about attraction being a gift not sin made me laugh so hard I stopped everyone in the room to hear it. (I don’t think that was the author's intent.) I did love the biking trip near Moab, Utah, having hiked there many times. This is a sweet and wholesome story with no big angst even though both MCs have felt grief. I especially think Christian romance readers will enjoy this. Thank you to NetGalley and Covenant Communications for the ARC and I am leaving an honest review.

Tutored in Love is a deep and slow burn closed door romance. The story line was interesting and kept me reading waiting to see when Noah and Grace would finally realize they both like each other. I liked seeing the journey the two main characters went on to grow and work on themselves. The story went into some deeper subjects and I enjoyed that it wasn't just a light and fluffy romance.

This novel started out a little slow, but picked up the pace as I continued to read.
Grace hasn't had much success when it comes to dating. She is awkward and has a hard time putting her best self forward. After her sister scolds her, for practically ignoring a blind date, that her and her husband set her up on, Grace decides it's time to look at herself and make some changes.
Noah hasn't had an easy life and is less than impressed with Grace, whom he's tutoring in math. He believes that she is self centeuhred and he doesn't want to talk to her about anything but math.
When Grace and Noah go on the same service activity in Mexico. Noah wonders if he has misjudged Grace, when he learns more about some of the trials she's been through.
Two wounded people trying to find their way.

Grace and Noah are fantastic characters with lots of depth. I loved seeing their growth throughout the book. There are fun situations and great chemistry. I loved the dual points of view as well. I also really liked that the book took place over a longer time period to allow the growth of the characters. I would definitely recommend this book.

I believe this book wasn’t for me. There were a few of things that I enjoyed, like the authors voice and the concept of the plot. I also liked the twist In the story.

In the end, I had a hard time connecting with the characters and found it difficult to be invested in the story. I found myself skipping pages of interactions because they just didn’t hold my attention. And I felt like the romance factor did not really kick in for the main couple until the last section of the book. I really wanted to see more of them together than what was shown.

I do believe this book could work for the right audience - but unfortunately was not for me.

I read this book in two days. I couldn’t put it down. This was Barbara’s first published novel and I look forward to seeing what other books she will come out with. I usually go for regency novels but this one intrigued me so I gave it a shot and I’m so glad I did. I empathized with Grace so much and Noah as well. Life isn’t easy and they both had to face their past, their personal challenges and overcome their fears in order to come together. The slow burn was killing me lol. But it only made me want to continue reading on to see how it ended. Spoiler alert… it was a great ending. This book was funny, gave elements of Christianity, discussed mental health problems and had some aspects of high adventuring. It was a nice change of pace from my usual reads.
