ARE YOU KIDDING ME!? I just finished and I'm screaming. I couldn't put this book down, I devoured it. I want more, I need more! When I got to the last page I kept checking to make sure that was it, that there were no more pages. We start off meeting Julian Rousseaux, a sexy, angry and commanding vampire. Then there's Thea Melbourne the cellist. She's always late, over caffeinated, overworked and seriously stubborn. A chance meeting sends both their lives into chaos. I loved seeing the characters try to navigate the obstacles that seem to be around every corner. It kept me guessing and begging for more. I honestly don't know how I haven't heard of this series before. I will be buying all the books in this series! I can't wait to read more from this author.

So this is my first book from Geneva Lee and while I’m not familiar with vampire stories, this book keep me gripped from the beginning.
Julian wakes up after four decades nap and finds out that his mother summons him. His brother reminds him about the social season that takes place every fifty years which is The Rites, more like a mating ritual. And Julian as the eldest son, had to take a wife. He met a human cellist, Thea, and offering her a proposition to be his fake girlfriend to avoid The Rites.
I feel like I’m watching a movie or series about vampires. I was intrigued when I first start this book and I can’t stop. I’m not really big at their insta attraction but I get it. Thea get to know a lot about vampires history from Julian and I wonder why she didn’t freak out and even willingly to go out to on a dinner with him. But hey maybe even I won’t deny if I met a hot vampire 🤣 I love the author mix modern situation like how Julian’s mother hates Thea because she’s a human and didn’t belong in their world. I enjoyed their boundry rules, how Julian respect her but hate how he took his time explain all those things to her. The mate thing grabbed my attention and I really hope I’ll get the answer in next book.
All in all, it was an enjoyable book. It end with cliffhanger and I really want to throw my kindle because of the ending. I can’t wait to read the next one!
4 / 5 ⭐️
Im.nit sure this book was for me. Interesting premise, but it was either anger or horniness from the characters and with no actual sex on page. Feeling kinda meh.
Julian Rousseaux has a problem. He’s single, and for the world’s wealthiest vampires, the social season is about to begin. Julian would rather stake himself than participate in the marriage market.
A fun urban fantasy paranormal romance. Very entertaining.
This was a sexy, modern vampire romance and I couldn't put it down!
During a cocktail party 900 year old vampire Julian and 20 year old cellist Thea meet. He can't resist her scent and rescues her from dire situations during the event. The two begin to fake date to solve each of their issues, but the line between fake and real quickly blur.
I love fated mates and fake dating tropes and this book delivered. This book also delivered crazy sexual tension between our MMC and MFC. Julian was the perfect brooding and protective vampire and Thea was a yearning virgin finally ready to live her life. However, vampire society frowns on their relationship and the two must face their own true feelings about each other and numerous external obstacles. This book is the first in the series and I'm excited to read and learn more about this Filthy Rich Vampire world.
If you're looking for a spicy vampire read, this is it!
Smexy, a bit heavy and dark, plus ends on a cliffy.

One of the things that is interesting about many vampire stories is that the people are beautiful. In this story, we have a gorgeous, strikingly handsome man who is under fire as he must marry and fast.
But inconveniently enough, he has also recognized the tantalizing beautiful cellist calling to his soul. Unfortunately, she is human and absolutely will not be accepted into his family or culture.
The author takes us on a journey from galas and balls to Paris and other fabulous destinations. With sweeping descriptions of beautiful places and events, it’s easy to get caught up in the story.
Lee’s characters are intense and fierce in many ways. But her two main characters of the story are definitely destined for eternity if Julian can keep her alive. With plenty of heat and passion between the two, it remains to be seen where the story will take us because it actually ends on a cliffhanger.
Filthy Rich Vampire is an imaginative and exciting story that brings us smexy heat and passion but includes somewhat dark themes as well. Lee interlaces humor and grumpiness, age gap romance, and the ever-loving billionaire spoiling Cinderella into this enticing story. Just be prepared that you will not get your HEA!

Julian is a handsome, super wealthy vampire who is awoken from a decades long slumber and ordered by his mother to participate in the Rites and find a wife. At a vampire gala, he meets Thea, a human cellist and student and he suddenly becomes incredibly protective of her. Julian decides the best way to protect Thea is to make her his fake girlfriend. He’ll get out of vampire matchmaking, and will pay of Thea’s student loans and her mother’s medical debts. The lust between Thea and Julian is pretty instant, and they find themselves fighting for one another while simultaneously struggling to fit into each other’s world.
I really enjoyed this book on the surface level. It’s a quick, easy read that kept me interested the whole time. I really enjoyed Julian’s protectiveness over Thea, and Thea’s personality was great. I would have loved more background info on the history of vampires and the politics and rules within their community. Way too much time was spent on if and when Thea should lose her virginity for my liking and I wasnt a huge dan of Julian’s pet name for Thea. I didn't see the ending coming at all. The cliffhanger left me excited for see what happens in book 2!
Thank you to NetGalley and Entangled Publishing for the ARC.
Hello, my Twilight obsession, Welcome back to my life. Vampire romance can be either a big hit or a complete miss for me but I am happy to report that Filthy Rich Vampire by Geneva Lee is a winner! Vampire royalty, social season, mating rituals, falling for a measly human and all the heartbreaking angsty ramifications..this feels like beginning of a new addiction for me.
Thea Melbourne has an utterly simple boring and sometimes depressed life. Student loan, mother's cancer, struggling as a cello artist..and it all changes when she attends a part time gig at a lavish party. It's not a simple party. It's a part of vampires and witches announcing beginning of The Rite, the social season of finding a partner. Julian Rosseoux is the royalty and he has no desire to take part in this season but is being forced by the archaic rules and expectations. Thea shouldn't belong in his world. But he is strangely attracted to her and feels an unnatural protectiveness and possessiveness. Thea is enticed by him and when he offers her to be his girlfriend for show..she couldn't refuse. But the dangers are too high. And Julian doesn't know how to keep her..
Julian gives me chills. He is the perfect alpha hero. Even without the vampire power, he is dazzling. He and his family is obnoxiously rich and powerful. And the author cleverly mixed some important historical events and personalities to make it even more interesting. He is a predator. A complete brooding edgy royal who is feared and wanted by all. So naturally, Thea doesn't understand why he is attracted to her. She is simple in her own eyes but the truth is she is beautiful with a beautiful heart. I must say that she was handling the whole vampire drama a lot better than I expected her too. She is curious and inquisitive and Julian has a profound effect on her heart and soul. His world is dangerous and deceptive and his mother has clearly expressed that she is not welcome but Julian is adamant. He is also clueless about his overpowering need and passion for Thea. This all consuming desire to keep her in his life at any cost. But then the puzzle pieces start falling into place and the truth is even more dangerous. He has a choice to make. To break her heart or to keep her safe from the brewing war at the horizon..Thea can be fierce and sassy but the challenges can be intimidating. The chemistry is explosive here but it's a slow burn. Soulmates' energy isn't a matter of joke. This book gave me all the angsty aching feels with swoon effect. And I cannot wait to start the next book.
I reviewed an early copy voluntarily
✨Adult Urban Vampire Romance - think Twilight, but way sexier ✨
Filthy Rich Vampire ticks all the boxes for an adult paranormal romance and features plenty much loved tropes including fake dating, forbidden love and fated mates. The author puts a unique spin on the vampire world and introduces us to layers of tradition, politics and family dynamics that kept the book interesting and fresh in a popular genre.
Both MC's were very likeable and I loved the dual POV, particularly the MMC's as it gave the reader a glimpse into the depth behind his nihilistic demeanour ("Just stake me already"... relatable). One thing I found a little frustrating was how much information/backstory was withheld from the reader until it was brought up in the dialogue, but it was still always interesting when revealed.
I enjoyed the spice (2.5/5🌶️) and thought the build up to those moments were great. It looks like the spice will increase in the following books.
This book ends on a big cliffhanger so is not a stand alone book, and I can't wait to read the next one and devour it like a did the first!
Filthy Rich Vampire by Geneva Lee, the first book I’ve ever ready by the author -
This was an insta-love paranormal romance. Some of the tropes were billionaire, forbidden love, fade to black and fake dating. I don’t feel like there was enough world building in this book which is unfortunate with a vampire story. Vampires are pretty much immortal and live for centuries upon centuries so it seems like there should have been a lot more history on Julian.
Julian propositions Thea by offering to help her financially if she pretends to be his girlfriend for a year. Things don’t go as easily as anticipated, especially when vampire politics are involved and Julians mother interferes and tries to get rid of Thea. There’s fade to black romance that blossoms between the two and the book leaves us on a bit of a cliffhanger.
The pacing of this book was pretty slow and I had an extremely difficult time getting invested in the story however, I managed to finish the book and found it to be just…okay.
I loved this book!! It was super fast paced which I normally don’t like but that really worked for me in this one. The ending was such a cliffhanger I absolutely want more of this world and the vampires and humans in it. The duel perspectives is always a plus for me because I like seeing both sides throughout. I hope more in this series is published!!
I requested this book to NetGalley because the description intrigued me so much and although i was a bit skeptical at the beginning, i really loved it.
At first it sounds like a mix of the most famous vampires books i've already read (which are actually not a lot!), but then it progresses from the more introductive chapters and it feels like a totally different story. I've always liked fantasy books so i love when there's a bit of magic and supernatural creatures involved and i think this was the perfect read for someone who's new to romance as the intimate scenes are few and not that scandalous.
I loved the jumping from Thea's POV to Julian's. It kept me glued to the book, wanting to know more and more and i couldn't stop reading even if it was wayyy past my bedtime.
The book also ended on a cliffhanger and i can't wait to read the next one!!!
I am not a huge fan of romance just by itself, but this sounded interesting, so I requested it. At first, I was sure, but it really didn’t take me long at all to become invested in the storyline. I just adore the vibe between Julian and Thea. This may seem like an old, reused theme, but this author somehow makes it fresh. There are many obstacles for these two, and they try to overcome them while finally…well, you’ll have to read this for yourself to find out. Well-written and fun, I’m ready for the next book after that tough cliffhanger. Highly recommend. I was provided a complimentary copy which I voluntarily reviewed.
Thank you Brittany Zimmerman, NetGalley and Entangled Publishing for gifting me a copy in exchange for an honest review.
Filthy Rich Vampires gave me all the feels of the Twilight era vampire romance books but Adult. With the tropes of Billionaire romance, paranormal and fake dating. This was a solid 4 star read for me, with a low spice level in comparison with other books within the genre. Being the first in a series, I imagine the spice level increases in later books. It was a great introduction to this series and a cliffhanger that brought back all the feels of New Moon. For my introduction to Geneva Lee's writing I found it easy to follow her pacing and her plot and made for an easy fun read.
This is a dual POV and starts off following a struggling cellist student named Thea in modern day San Francisco. (Cheers from the bay area). One fateful gig with her quartet she finds herself in the middle of a world she never thought existed. Playing for a party of Vampires, and our love interest Julian. Julian was awoken early on the demands of his mother. Brought to San Francisco to be thrust into the Social Season, but not just any social season, the beginning of The Rite. A tradition set to have the vampire elite married and continue the lineage of their magic. Julian is not only opposed to being thrust into this social season, but as an heir he is expected to get married, which he is whole heartedly averse to. When he saves Thea from becoming a meal, he is utterly drawn to this young woman whose blood sings to him. He devises a proposition for Thea, she must act as his girlfriend for the next year and he will make sure she is provided for. Her mother's medical bills? gone. Her student loans? paid. What could a girl do but accept to spend her time with the handsome vampire and see a way out of her debt?
As you can expect things don't go as smoothly as planned, and once the season truly begins Thea begins to find out just how dangerous this world of magic is.
While not much world building is done, one is expected to make relative inferences based on the setting of our own world. We do get a bit of vampire background here and there, but we are very much in Thea's level of understanding despite this being a dual POV book. Things begin to pick up more exponentially toward the last quarter of the book as vampire politics get thrown in and the danger actually begins to rear its head, but for the length of the book we still don't really learn much. It took a lot of the book to get to the starts of the brunt of the over arching conflict for the series, but we did get there toward the end.
In terms of the romance, we are pretty much sitting in the lust stage for quite some time, considering this is fake dating this level makes sense. The biggest roadblock to their relationship comes from Thea being a virgin and some chosen vampire lore that hinges on her virginity. Despite this "roadblock" Thea and Julian do develop a stronger relationship that you see growing at a relatively good pace through the storyline.
This is a good book if you are looking for an easy paranormal vampire romance and a completed series you can binge read. I enjoyed this series opener and will continue down the rabbit hole to see how this develops.
I really struggled to finish this book and I usually adore paranormal romances. The plot kept going in circles and the characters came off as very one-dimensional. If you enjoy vampire romance filled with the following tropes: fake dating, mates, billionaire MMC then this might be a good one for you to pick up.
This was an absolute gem in the world of paranormal romance, and it easily deserves a 5-star rating. This book is a captivating and enchanting tale that seamlessly blends the supernatural with the mundane, resulting in a story that's impossible to put down.
Geneva Lee crafts a narrative that explores the tension between the vampire world and Thea's humanity. Initially, Julian initially dismisses Thea as too innocent and too kind, and I felt like it set the stage for their unlikely connection. The author masterfully builds their relationship, transforming a seemingly straightforward fake girlfriend arrangement into something far deeper and more complex.
I feel like what sets this book apart is the richly imagined vampire world, which is both decadent and dark. Lee's world-building is exceptional, immersing readers in a society of wealth, power, and secrets. The story keeps you on the edge of your seat with a perfect blend of forbidden desire, suspense and a generous sprinkling of supernatural intrigue.
The characters are beautifully developed and the chemistry between Julian and Thea is electric. Their evolving relationship is a testament to Lee's skill in creating multi-dimensional characters with genuine emotions and vulnerabilities.
As the plot unfolds, new dangers and secrets emerger, keeping the reader engrossed and emotionally invested. The pacing is spot-on, and the narrative is expertly balanced, making it impossible to resist turning page after page.
Overall, this was a mesmerizing paranormal romance that surpasses expectations. This was a story of love, sacrifice, and discovering the unexpected in the most extraordinary of circumstances. If you're a fan of paranormal romance with depth and intrigue, this book is an absolute must-read. It's an enchanting journey into a world where love knows no boundaries and it leaves you craving more.
I normally am not one to read romances. I am a hardcore Fantasy reader who is happy to stay in her fantasy worlds. But Bookstagram has been talking about this book a bit and ya know what, curiosity bit me and I went with it.
I read this in one day. Holy cow it was AMAZING. It was the right amout of paranormal and magical surrealism to satisfy my craving for the fantastical mixed with contemporary life set in 2023. The rules of the author’s world is a beautiful take on vampires and witches with a stunning plot that keeps me guessing at every turn. Absolutely brilliant.
Geneva Lee’s writing is entertaining and engaging. I was laughing from start to almost finish. We’re not talking about that cliff hanger ending. Every character is alive and vibrant on these pages. They’re easy to love and easy to connect to, even the vampire mother. The dialogue is smart and sassy. The burn is slow and oh so satisfying and the spice is hot hot hot.
Geneva Lee has created a alternate version of our world that I would say yes to being apart of without hesitation.
I got an e-arc on this book. And it’s really good. It’s fast pace. It was something I could not put down. Definitely 🌶️🌶️🌶️ . Will definitely buy the book. Can’t wait what happens next.
It’s about this vampire that has been asleep for decades, and comes across this human woman, that has instant attraction to her. Not only by her loos, by her smell or blood. I have no clue how to word it lol but he becomes protective of her.
Fake dating.
Definitely horny for each other.
Dual points of view.
Thank you to NetGalley and Entangled Publishing for this book.
I loved this book. Yes, there is no sec between Julian and Thea's, but wow the chemistry is ther.
I love the whole filthy rich vampire falling in love with the poor human theme. And he is over the top handsome and such a gentleman too. Swoon.
I don't care if it doesn't make sense. I don't care that the whole must find a mate thing and create vampire offspring doesn't make sense. I am a sucker for vampire human romance.
I loved the story and can't wait to read more.
Highly recommend.
