This was such a great addition to the series! Holly and Evan are getting ready for their Christmas themed wedding when the lead ballerina in the local production of The Nutcracker dies during a parade. Holly finds out that Tiffany, the ballerina, was poisoned with cyanide in her protein smoothie.

I loved being back in Mistletoe, Maine! The combination of all the normal holiday festivities, prepping for the wedding, the Nutcracker, a blogger and Holly investigating was perfect. The mystery was intriguing, even though I wish we knew a little bit more about Tiffany, the victim. As always the characters in this series are great and make me wish I lived there.

I listened to this on audiobook. The narration brought Holly to life which I enjoyed.

Stalking Around The Christmas Tree is the fourth book in the Christmas Tree Farm Mystery series. I have read and enjoyed them all, but they can also be read as standalone stories. Christmas time in Mistletoe, Maine, is th busy season for Inn Keeper Holly White. Business is booming at the Reindeer Games, her wedding to Sheriff Evan Gray is nearly here, and the annual parade is about to begin. The town is also hosting the State Ballet Company, who are going to be performing The Nutcracker. Many of the dancers and others with the company are staying at Reindeer Games. When the lead ballerina, Tiffany is found dead on one of the floats, Holly will be working overtime to help solve this murder. Was it the Rat King, whose mask was also found on the float, or someone else in the company?

I enjoy this series and it was fun to be back in Mistletoe, Maine for this festive, cozy mystery. Holly is a great character. She knows everyone in town and they don't hesitate to talk to her. Being engaged to the sheriff, who trusts her intuition and sleuthing, helps to solve these crimes as well. As Holly beings talking and gathering information, she learns that Tiffany had some secrets, as well as people who were not happy with her dancing the main role. The mystery was well plotted and was well presented in the book with just the right mix of personal story and festive fun with the Reindeer Games' activities. I really enjoyed all the famiiar characters being back and part of the wedding plans, games and input into the mystery. A fun, festive Christmas mystery that I recommend. I did a read/listen and enjoyed both formats. Allyson Ryan narrates this one and does a nice job with the story pacing, expression and voices.

Holly White is getting ready to marry her sweetheart Evan when a murder happens in the tourist town of Mistletoe Maine. Unfortunately, this is becoming a holiday event, with the town having had 3 holiday murders. The mayor has arranged to have the state ballet perform The Nutcracker for the holiday. Everything seems perfect until the lead ballerina is found dead. Worst yet, she’s discovered inside a parade float. There’s no way to keep this quiet. Evan’s sister Libby believes that the murder was a case of mistaken identity , and that she was the intended target. Libby testified against a criminal case and believes that she’s being targeted. It appears that Holly won’t be getting the honeymoon of her dreams if Evan and his team can’t swiftly wrap up the case So Holly steps in to offer her assistance. Who knew that a ballerina could have so many enemies? You’re sure to love this tale of who done it.
Stalking around the Christmas is a fun holiday must read. I can’t wait to read more of the series.

Stalking Around the Christmas Tree, by Jacqueline Frost, is the fourth book in the Christmas Tree Farm mystery series. This is an atmospheric, festive, holiday mystery with an extremely cute cover. The setting is also quintessential Christmas taking place in Mistletoe, Maine on a tree farm that hosts “Reindeer games”, treats, trees, and an Inn run by Holly White.

There is a two part mystery in this story. When the ballet comes to town to perform, also being featured in the annual parade, a very public murder takes place. Also, Holly’s soon-to-be sister-in-law is being followed by a vehicle and receiving mysterious, threatening notes, that could potentially tie into her past. The timing could not be worse. Not only is this the busiest time of the year, but Holly and Sheriff Gray are soon to be married.

Since the ballet troupe is staying at her inn, Holly, of course, decides to investigate, despite her fiancé’s protest. In fact, she seems to be doing far more work on the case than he is, as the Sheriff. This cozy mystery is well-received by many, and I can see why. I, however, found the main character to be difficult to like. Holly seemed to not take her responsibilities very seriously, other than her fixation on the crime. She consistently put her own interests and needs before others, and overall seemed rather insensitive and inconsiderate and occasionally clueless. I also didn’t get the impression that she was overly invested in her upcoming nuptials.

That said, the reveal was surprising, the conclusion was sweet, and the inclusion of “Santa” was a nice touch. Thank you to MacMillan Audio for the audio-version of this book which added more interest to the plot and kept me invested through to the end.

This cozy mystery has everything you want in a cozy mystery...a small town, during Christmas, on a Christmas tree farm, it can't get much cozier than that. Oh and a murder along the way.

Holly White helps her parents run their Christmas tree farm and Inn in Mistletoe, Maine. Everyone is busy getting ready for the holidays and Holly's wedding to the local Sheriff, Evan Gray.

The state ballet is also in town for performances of the holiday classic, the Nutcracker and is staying at Holly's Inn. The town is bustling along until the star ballerina is found dead on na float in the middle of the Christmas parade.

Can Holly help solve the murder in time to make it down the aisle?

I had read other series by this author but hadn't picked up this series yet but I am so glad I did! I love the small town vibes with all of the Holiday aspects with the Reindeer games. I also love that Holly helps to solve the murder but Evan is always looking out for her too. Overall I highly recommend this holiday cozy, mystery and can't wait to read the rest in the series.

This was my first trip to Mistletoe, Maine. And as much as it's a standalone story, I did feel like there were things I was missing since earlier murders in the town were referenced frequently. But overall, I enjoyed the story!

Holly is an innkeeper, hosting a ballet troupe who are performing in town, leading up to their big show in Boston. Between the inn and wedding preparations, there's plenty to keep her occupied, especially as she's getting ready to marry the love of her life, Evan, the local sheriff, on Christmas Eve.

Unfortunately, one of the ballet corps dies in front of everyone during a parade, and both Evan and Holly know that time is running out if they want to identify the killer before the ballet troupe continues on to the next stop in their schedule.

I loved how the two worked together to solve the mystery, and how the whole town pulled together to make sure that their wedding went off without a hitch.

I look forward to visiting Mistletoe again in the future.

Thank you to Jacqueline Frost, Dreamscape Media, and NetGalley for an advance review copy.

I loved visiting Mistletoe, Maine for another Christmas. We got to see some reindeer games and a blizzard as well as a wedding. I loved the Christmas feel of this book! The wedding is a good payoff for Holly and Evan. It was so good to see everyone coming together to help them.
The mystery was interesting. The first time we see the victim, Tiffany, is when she is dead. Then we learn about her as they investigate. It was a bit hard to keep some of the ballerinas straight, so I was never quite sure which of them was a suspect. The murderer made sense in the end. I also liked the stalker mystery and how Evan's sister had to work through that.
Amazing setting, wonderful characters, and pretty good mystery.

Stalking Around the Christmas Tree is the fourth mystery in the Christmas Tree Farm Mystery series. Holly White is the inn keeper at Reindeer Games Inn and with Christmas and her wedding fast approaching she already has a lot on her plate. When murder strikes and her fiancé, Evan the local police detective, is pulled into another case, Holly takes it upon herself to help him get to the bottom of it so nothing can interrupt their big day.

I love this series and am always excited to see a new mystery coming out! I really enjoyed this book and loved seeing the gang again. This series is full of fun characters, Christmas themed games and cheer and mysteries that are fun to get lost in. I didn’t want to put this book down and found myself guessing until the very end on who the killer was. I am so glad that this book included Holly and Evan’s big day and I can’t wait to see what comes next for the budding romances between some of the other characters. If you haven’t experienced this series yet, I definitely recommend picking it up! I can’t wait to see what will come next I’m this series and will be eagerly waiting for the next Christmas themed cozy featuring Holly!

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for a copy of this book!

Stalking Around the Christmas Tree by Jacqueline Frost (aka the lovely Julie Anne Lindsey!) is an excellent addition to A Christmas Tree Farm Mystery series.

The characters are so lovable and scenery is definitely cozy. I enjoyed trying to piece together the mysteries throughout and cried happy tears at the most beautiful ending.

I've been following this series since shortly after book one came out and everytime I read this series I constantly wish I was at the reindeer farm partaking in the games or having some tasty treats at the cafe. Jacqueline Frost's descriptions are always so well done.

It's nice to be back in Maine with these characters and it was fun to see Holly running the Inn this go around. The characters growth from book 1 to now has been great too. I was glad we got to see Libby (Evan's sister) back in town, Evan taking on the big brother role even more from the craziness that came with her return, and Libby's deepening relationship with her soon to be sister in law, Holly. Family is always a big theme in these books and it's always done in a relatable way and in just the right amount.

As always there were twists in the story and the mystery was crafted well. There are ballerinas, parades, wedding bells, reindeer games, love, family, mystery, laughs and good ol' Theodore the goat who Cookie is trying to find a wife for (ha!).

This is a go to series for me and I can't wait to read any more that may come.

Thank you to netgalley and the publisher for the advanced listening copy. My rating and opinions are all my own.

This author and series are new to me so I was slightly apprehensive about jumping in mid series, but I needn’t have worried. I was instantly drawn in by the engaging descriptions of the small town of Mistletoe and its inhabitants. I loved all the details of the various Christmas activities which balanced out the cosy mystery plot well. Holly, the female main character, was imminently likeable and relatable, as was her fiancée Evan. I’ll definitely be going back to read the earlier books in the series, so I can see how their relationship started. I liked the narrator, who has a gentle, soothing voice, which is relaxing to listen to.

Loved this one!! It’s the fourth one in the series and they just keep getting better. The author is always great about giving us all the details even down to the tiny ones that make the books come to life. Now that it’s the fourth book, it feels like visiting a friend. If you enjoy audiobooks as much as I do, I highly recommend listening to the series as the narrator is the best!

A delightful Christmas mystery in a holiday town setting.

This is my first in the series, and it was just what I needed! Holly is the delightfully charming Innkeeper that runs the holiday themed games in Mistletoe, Maine. This book is cozy to the core, so expect warm greetings from old friends and lots of sweet treats. The murder mystery is well written and I didn't even guess the killer.

I came for the mystery and stayed for the Christmas goodness. The holiday cheer came early this year!

Thank you NetGalley for my ARC.

Hooray! I love Christmas books with Christmas tree farm and this series is even called A Christmas Tree Farm Mystery! 🎄❄️☃️

Set in Mistletoe, Maine, innkeeper Holly White of Reindeer Games Inn has a lot on her plate. It's just a week until Christmas and this Christmas town is bustling with tourists and Holly's Christmas Eve wedding to town's Sheriff Evan Gray. There's also a ballet company in town for The Nutcracker performances and they'll be part of the upcoming annual parade.

The mayor's idea to restore the town's safety reputation by bringing in the ballet company is crushed when the lead ballerina dies during the parade. Who could want her dead? Looks like Holly has to solve this mystery before her wedding day and before the ballet company leaves town.

This cozy mystery is really sweet, has such a charming ambiance of Christmas, and is very festive. Holly's family and friends are fun to follow. Her dad is a lumberjack and her mom is a baker/chef at their cafe. Her friend Cookie has a goat that's adored by everyone and Caroline has a to-die for cupcake shop.

I enjoyed the audiobook read by Allyson Ryan. It was a quick and entertaining listen. I would listen to more of this series. 3.5⭐

Thank you Dreamscape Media for the ALC.

3.5 out of 5 stars, rolled up to 4

There is 1 main and 2 subplots interwoven in this story set in Maine at Christmas time. This makes the fourth Christmas since Holly White has returned home to her parents’ farm. This year the holiday is made even more special by the upcoming wedding nuptials of Holly and Sheriff Evan Gray.

Add to the festive atmosphere a Nutcracker ballet troupe and a holiday parade.

Things are looking up for Holly, her family and her friends. That is until, of course, someone dies. There is just days to the wedding, a snowstorm approaching and a murder to solve. No pressure, LOL.

Caroline is wedding planner extraordinaire which leaves Holly time to investigate. No bridezilla moments, thankfully, in the mix. At one point it seemed that the death had been overshadowed by wedding, perhaps on purpose? Not sure.

I was a little annoyed with Holly sneaking to speak with performers preparing to go on stage for a performance, but I guess there was no other time, especially for those not staying at the inn.

Glad that Cookie was around and safe. Her and her dance troupe provided cute moments.

The evolving friendship between Samantha and Holly is fun to read.

Ray, Caroline, and Libby have lots going on but still manage to help Holly when they can.

I felt disappointed in Holly for missing so many clues, but then I remembered she was getting married in a few days. It would make sense for the character to be a little off her game as she prepares to wed. To be fair, there is a lot of other stuff going on as well and she is barely keeping her head above water. It is not so much that it is hard from the reader to follow though.

Holly and Evans wedding was beautifully set and executed, even better than Ray’s parents wedding had been the prior Christmas (Slashing through the Snow, book 3). Maybe there is another one in the works, I wouldn’t object if there were (*hint*).

Overall, a quick fun read and good addition to the series. Looking forward to the next one.

Thank you to #NetGalley for the opportunity to do an early read and share my thoughts on the story.

Happy Reading!

I haven’t read any of the other books in this series, but I’m so glad I picked up Stalking Around the Christmas Tree. There is a strong sense of family and community in Mistletoe, Maine.
I like Holly White. I think it’s lovely that she is set to marry Sheriff Evan on Christmas Eve.
The mystery is an interesting one. I didn’t figure out who murdered the lead ballerina in the Nutcracker. I do agree with Holly that masks and full head covering costumes are creepy.
I like all the secondary characters - Libby, Ray, Caroline, Evan and Holly’s parents.
I think this can be read as a stand-alone as that’s what I did and I didn’t feel lost.
I’m happy to recommend Stalking around the Christmas tree.
I both read an ebook and listened to the audiobook. I like the narrator.
Thanks to Netgalley, Crooked Lane Books and Dreamscape Media for the opportunity to review this story.
