Thank you NetGalley and the publishers for this ARC in exchange for my honest review!

“Anywhere you go, that’ll be home to me.”

This was so freaking CUTE!! Maelstrom was adorable and I loved his antics throughout the book. Twigs was awesome too. Strong and ready to protect everyone with a soft heart. They were the best team with Anise and the others.

The art was so colorful and well done. I’ll have to see more from this creator. I also didn’t expect to be invested so much in the actual story. Seeing the prince of evil join the good guys and seeing how happy he was just made my heart smile.

The scene when Maelstrom and Twigs were at the ball had me giggling and kicking my feet. They had such a nice moment. This is such a heartwarming graphic novel and the end had me tearing up. Deff recommend if you like stories with queer themes and sweet characters.

An entertaining, comedic, and unexpectedly heartfelt story with wonderful queer undertones! While Maelstrom, Twigs, and Sir Anise were such easily likable characters from the start, I really loved seeing them grow for the better as they learned from each other. I mean - “Anywhere you go…that’ll be home to me.” Screaming, crying, throwing up. This graphic novel had me feeling EMOTIONS. Genuinely a fantastic story about choosing your path in life - and your family. 10/10.

I love a good hero/villain team-up, and this one hit the mark! Maelstrom was hilarious, with a fun, engaging voice and art style. It definitely lived up to the Adventure Zone comp, but I think it'd also appeal to fans of Star Vs The Forces of Evil, Steven Universe, and Hazbin Hotel. Super fun.

In this story we get to meet Maelstrom, a bored prince who is looking for something exciting. Along comes the Hero of Virtue to free the country of his mother's rule. Sadly, she's not quite ready. Maelstrom decides to help her embrace her full potential by joining the resistance-only so that he can have a more epic story of how evil can overcome good. Maelstrom: A Prince of Evil is a beautifully drawn and compelling story. The character design is beautiful and story well paced. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this!

This was so cute! I love that Maelstrom reminds me of a lot of different chaotic good villains in some of my favorite media. They're such a trouble making cutie.
