This book is exactly what one expects from the title. Harper becomes a big sister to her new little brother Wyatt. Her and her dads are very excited for this new adventure. Things are harder than Harper expected. Wyatt is not able to play and both dad and daddy are not always available to do what Harper wants to do. Things are changing and it’s stressful. But as a family, they can get through things together. This book is well done, the illustrations are nice, it has a lesson and it teaches it well. Overall, this is a great book for any collection.

This book has becoming a older sibling down to a point the many emotions kids go through when getting a new baby. This would be great to prepare children for new littles ones on the way.

When Dad and Daddy adopt a new baby, Harper's routine changes. This book would be great for helping kids prepare for new siblings in the home.

This is a good picture book to help prepare an older child to become a big sibling. Even though it's a big sister in the book it can be used for all big siblings.

I received an arc of this title from NetGalley for an honest review. It's Harper, Dad, and Daddy. One day Harper is sat down and asked if she wants to be a big sister. She is very excited, until her new sister arrives and everything changes.

The illustrations were so whimsical and beautiful.
There were so many hidden rainbows for lgbtq rep.

I appreciated the different view points that can be given to a child that gets their first sibling. I think this can be a helpful book to anyone who is about to become a big sister/brother for the first time.

This is a great book for kids about to welcome a new sibling. Having a new siblings is a huge change to a family and it lets kids know that things will be different. They may not be happy about every change but that doesn't mean they are not still very important. I love that it shows Harper talking to her dad about her feelings which is something many kids may have trouble doing with their parents. There are many opportunities for parents to talk to their children about welcoming a new baby to the family.

I found this to be a sweet book on welcoming a new sibling. The book touches upon the excitement and love that comes with a baby but also on the changes that occur with a baby which can cause feelings of anger, resentment, and even exclusion. While the book centers on a non-traditional family where there are two dads, this book does not focus on the struggles such a topic might bring about especially when it comes to adoption. Instead the book is normalizing the nontraditional family by not making them any different from a couple that would adopt. This book might still be considered polarizing due to the fact that the couple is not what is expected. Despite that fact, I still believe it to be a great example of what to expect and anticipate for families that are growing.

Harper Becomes a Big Sister is a beautiful story of a young girl who becomes a big sister overnight, when her dads adopt a newborn baby. At first, she loves him to pieces, but she starts to get frustrated that her parents have less time for her than before. Her dads explain that it's an adjustment, but things will fall into place, and that there's more love to go around when there are four of them instead of three! This is an adorable story of a young girl adjusting to a new sibling. So many of us can relate! Beautiful story for kids, especially ones that have younger siblings!

Thanks Netgalley and the publisher for the opportunity to review this advanced review copy (ARC) in exchange for my honest review on the book!
