This was a great story to read with my dino loving three year old. Wonderful pictures and a fun adventure! Perfect for any dino collection.
A cute picture book about a slightly scary T-Rex. And kid who is dino crazy would love this book added to their library
Oh, dear. This spends too much time introducing a whole host of dinosaur characters, puts one of them in trouble, immediately gets it out of trouble, the end. The plot is shoddy, the artwork is almost unsettling – and not in an uncanny valley way, either – and if you want a book to highlight friendship and cooperation, get one of millions that do it better than this.
Cute book for the Dino loving kids! My granddaughter looked looking for Rex.. All the dinosaurs working together to save Rex was sweet.
The illustrations were well done. Each dinosaur had a nickname and at the end of the book there was a picture of each dinosaur with their actual name as well as their nickname.
This is a fun loving children’s dinosaur book about a t-Rex named Rex who goes missing, and his friends set off to find him.
Excellent for children who love dinosaurs, the illustrations are fantastic
Great for your dino loving kiddos! Mine is obsessed with this one! He loves "looking for rex" saying where is rex where did he go? Highly recommend!
5/5 stars - Dino-mite!
I dove into the prehistoric world of this delightful picture book with my dino-obsessed 3-year-old, and let me tell you, it was a roaring success!
My little one, who can barely pronounce "spaghetti" but knows every dinosaur by heart, was absolutely hooked. The storyline about Rex, the adventurous T-Rex, going missing had him on the edge of his kiddie seat. He was genuinely concerned when Rex's friends set off on a quest to find him.
What really stole the show were the nicknames given to the dinosaurs based on their scientific names. My son, being the tiny paleontologist he is, insisted on calling the triceratops "ceratops" – and he made sure I got it right every time we read the book. It's the small victories, right?
The book is a cute exploration of friendship and teamwork. As the dinosaurs dash around seeking Rex, be prepared for your little reader to jump up and join the search party. The climax, where they find Rex in a sticky situation (literally, in a tar pit), had my son giggling and pointing at the funny illustration.
The best part? The story wraps up with all the dino friends rallying together to rescue Rex. The teamwork theme hit home, and my son loved the camaraderie among the dinosaurs.
In the end, we not only enjoyed a tale of prehistoric friendship but also added one more book to our bedtime stories pile. Trust me, if your kiddo dreams of dinosaurs, this book is a must-have!
This is a pretty easy read for young readers all about the missing Rex. I thought the illustrations could have been better I didn't find my 2 year old was attracted to the pictures at all.
I received a free copy of, Where's Rex, by Michael Garland, from the publisher and Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. Rex is a dinosaur, his dinosaur friends are looking for him. This is a cute story for kids, always tell someone where you are going, and have a great support system if you can.
My son definitely loved Anky. He said, “Look mom may! It’s Bumpy!” (Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous reference.) This was so cute and he had me reread it. Something else I loved was the teamwork. My son has been saying a lot lately, “Teamwork makes the dream work,” and at 5-years-old, he knows what that means.
Rex has gone missing and his friends are asking around to find out where he is. When they find him, he is stuck in the mud, and it takes all of the friends to save him. What a great message about friendship and teamwork! And such unique illustrations. I really enjoyed this.
I have a few grandchildren that love dinosaurs and know them by name. They would love this book about all the different dinosaurs that are good friends with Rex. I love the names that that each of these good friends have. Rex is a Tyrannosaurus Rex and his good friend Anky is an Ankylosaurs and their are 6 more. It is a clever story of friends concerned about their good friend Rex and how they worked together to get Rex out of a jam.
The illustrations are well done. A great gift for your dinosaur fan.
A special thank you to Boys Town Publishing and Netgalley for the ARC and the opportunity to post an honest revie
This book was a good book for kids about problem solving and being a good friend. The pages were colorful and had a lot of different types of dinosaurs. The story was a little repetitive and didn't have much going on until ⅔ through the book. I rated the book ⅗ stars. My kids love dinosaur books but this one was not that exciting. It has a very simple and basic concept. Thank you Netgalley for sharing this book with us to read and review in exchange for our honest opinion.
Thank you netgalley for the chance to review. The opinions are my own.
I read this book with my 2 year old.
This is a cute story about friendship with dinosaurs. I do think however Rex would not have this many friends because they would be his lunch. Both my son and I enjoyed this book. It was adorable and the illustrations were hilarious.
"Where's Rex?" by Michael Garland is a fun adventure story about Rex, who loves exploring. He gets stuck, and his dino friends, Dac and Steg, set out to rescue him. The book is great for kids, teaching them about teamwork, friendship, and problem-solving through an exciting adventure!
Cute book about dinosaurs and friendship. I don’t necessarily understand why the trex has all these friends because he’d have eaten them all but it’s cute.
Thank you to Boys Town Press Publishing, Independent Book Publishers Association (IBPA), Members' Titles and to NetGalley for an ARC of this book.
I thought this book was great. The illustrations are fantastic, and the story is great and about friendship and helping one another.
Very cute!
A really fun story about teamwork and friendship with great illustrations and cute nicknames. My 6 year old thought that it was really funny!
The graphics of this book receive my highest praise - they were attention grabbing, colorful, and truly complemented the text. The story is great for beginner readers, with simple sentences and easy vocabulary. Even with its simple text, a clear story of friendship is there, as well as themes of problem solving and working on a team.
I think that the information at the back of the book could be expanded upon. Instead of just "Anky is an Ankylosaurus" it would be even more interesting for readers if further information was shared about that dinosaur type as well as the others.
