I was happy to find this short book about Rumi. It's little intro for children, I'm guessing. It really could have used a bit more info. I liked the drawing. I had no idea Rumi was a Sufi and affiliated with thre Whirling Dervishes. One never knows where knowledge may come from! While I wouldn't personally purchase this book, I am sure it may make a nice gift for a child as an intro to Rumi's works.

I really enjoy reading Rumi quotes added to graphics scattered among social media, so when I saw a beautiful picture book about his life, I knew I had to pick it up. I knew nothing about this amazing, loving, and kind poet and teacher, so I actually learned a lot by reading this book. This is basically a short biography of Rumi simplified down for kids to read and enjoy.

The illustrations and artwork are absolutely stunning! The colors are so bright and vibrant. The style of the art is unique and fun. I didn’t want the book to end because I loved the beautiful artwork so much. Plus, I wanted to learn more about Rumi in this easy, simple way.

I also enjoyed reading the author’s note and more info about Rumi at the end.

After reading this book, I went to my library app to borrow some books written by Rumi. It made me want to learn more about him and read his works. Highly recommend!

This picture book is so beautiful. Everything about Rumi was new to me, but it made me want to learn more. Really beautiful book that will be a great read aloud to all age classrooms.

I quite liked this picture book biography. I gave it 7/10.
The drawings were very beautiful and also meaningful considering the philosophy of the poet.
The plot was of course simplified but it was on point for the target audience. A worthy addition to the memory of Rumi, who is one of the most humanistic people who lived in this earth.

This was an excellent autobiography of Rumi for children to learn and be captivated by.

Rumi was an Islamic poet born in 1207 and known for his wonderful and unique poems. We homeschool our children so this was an excellent addition to our supplemental learning. The illustrations are rich and vibrant which easily capture my children’s attention and hold it while I read. There are sooooo many beautiful things to look at in each illustration. The story is longer for a children’s book but contains excellent information in an easy to understand way. I was disappointed that more of his work wasn’t quoted in the book however, I think the addition of some of his beautiful quotes should have been added for us all to enjoy.

As a history teacher, Rumi is mentioned in our Islamic Civilizations unit. Rumi - Poet of Joy and Love provides an entry point for even the youngest student to learn about Rumi. The book is beautifully illustrated. Rumi - Poet of Joy and Love shares the message of friendship, learning from others, and the joy of sharing with others. I plan to use this book as an introduction to literature in my Islamic Civilizations unit.

I have always.wondered who Rumi was. I !ah have.read.some of his.works in school but not quite sure. I finally read a book about Rumi and it was so beautiful. I need to find and read his work. I am quite sure I will love it. This book was beautifully written and loved the.story. the illustrations are wonderful and it brings you into his story of how he got started in writing. It seems like I was pulled into the.story and seeing it come to life. Very beautiful and everyone should read it.

Kheiriyeh accomplishes a difficult task - introducing a well-known Sufi mystic in a way that will appeal to children. Her delightful illustrations have a Persian/Turkish flare while being distinctly modern. A good book to expose young readers to the life and beliefs of Rumi.

This was beautiful! The illustrations were gorgeous and so colorful. I already knew a little about Rumi, but this was a fun book and could be a nice introduction about him for kids.

I recently had the pleasure of reading "Rumi - Poet of Joy and Love" by Rashin Kheiriyeh, and I must say that it was a delightful experience.

Rumi is a poet, although often talked about, is probably not as well-known as he should be. This book is a child-accessible biography of the poet, how he began his writing, and what influenced him the most. I found it to be simple and enjoyable to read, and it works well to express to children how you can find your passion and run with it.

To me, it was very interesting to learn about Rumi and different cultures through this book. I was very impressed with the pictures, as they are very beautiful. They have lots of details and are very colorful, which I love. The story to me was a little bit difficult to read and comprehend, I did have to focus. Maybe that was because it isn't my culture and it just takes a little longer to take it all in, but I doubt if children will understand the story. Nevertheless I loved the story and especially the pictures!

I loved this book. The colors are so enchanting and so is the story. I have a Rumi poetry book, hence the interest in this book. Rumi's poetry is very accessible. I didnt know the story of Rumi, his friendship and Simurgh. Happy to know the backstory.

This is a nice introduction for children into the nonfiction side of books. The story spells out some of Rumi's teachings. His words of wisdom and value placed on him by his students are expressed. In addition, there are beautiful illustrations. They are bright and colorful. I found them to be peaceful.

The Author's Note is a wealth of information with facts and definitions not given in the story.

I found the overall reading out loud cumbersome. However, the overall experience was gratifying. I would gift this to a child, gift as housewarming, and/or as a family hostess gift.

Because I love Rumis work I was excited to read this. But I thought there would be more poetry & not a history of Rumi.

I didn’t mind it but would have preferred poetry.

Illustrations were beautiful.

Overall 3 stars!
