We love an interactive picture book! Our storytime kiddos are suckers for all of the “There’s a ___ in your book!” titles. This isn’t *quite* that interactive, but it does have some nice elements. The illustrations are fun and child-like. And the story is cute. Kids will definitely enjoy spotting the dragon parts throughout (plus the cute twist that the dragon is the narrator). Definitely a fun one for a fantasy-themed storytime.
This is a cute book that includes a wide cast of characters in what looks like a multi-family house. It's an interactive book and invites the reader to find hints of dragons and then complete actions to find friends of the main dragon. In the world of interactive books, this one's content is fun, but middling. The illustrations are wonderful and relatable for children.
Super cute book! Throughout the book kids can search for clues of dragons in the house as you read each page saying there are NO dragons in the house. My son had fun with this one!
This is a fun, cute book that would capture the attention of the preschoolers I work with. I love the interactive part of looking for the dragon that is "not there". Its a quick, easy read that would enjoyable for the younger-aged children and a fun read for parents to read with their kids.
So cute! This reminds me a bit of the monster at the end of this book?
Which is amazing because it’s a classic, and an absolute favorite. Anyway, this book is so fun, and my daughter loved it. It has sweet illustrations.
Rating 4/5
Thank you for this arc in exchange for my honest review.
This was the cutest book about overcoming fear and acceptance. I loved the end where the reader “shakes” the book to bring the dragons back!
This story was cute and funny. I could see children liking this book and having fun finding the dragons on each page. This story is also interactive, which they would love.
There are No Dragons in this Book by Donna Lambo-Weidner is a cute storybook with lots of visual clues for children to find to see if there are any dragons. With a good storyteller reading the book, it could be a lot of fun to make a child giggle while shaking the book in his/her lap. I found the illustrations to show a lot of humor and all the hints for kids to find, but the drawings could have been made by a child and were messy and difficult to interpret. I think the book has potential and the illustrator had great ideas, but the drawings themselves could be improved, I do not think I would purchase this book for anyone. I am voluntarily submitting this honest review after reading an advanced complementary copy of this book thanks to Netgalley and NorthSouth Books, Inc.
A really fun and cute book that made my daughter laugh. She liked trying to find the dragon on every page and then shaking the book at the end. Just a clever kids book that I recommend for little ones!

Kids will love this book with lovely drawings, a fun story, figuring out what is hiding in the book.
There can't be dragons right? The title says there are NO dragons in this book.
but what is lurking and playing hide and seek?
Super cute and fun.
Thank you NetGalley, the author and publisher for this fun cute read.

Thank you NetGalley and North South Books for the opportunity to read "There Are No Dragons In This Book" in exchange for my honest opinion.
I liked this book. It's different from other children's books that I've read but I can see the potential for conversations with teachers, parents, caregivers about what is happening in the story. Kids will enjoy looking for this nonexistent dragon. They'll wonder where the nails came from, or the sparks, how did the wall happen to get that hole and who made the mess. Great things to talk about and see where the kids imagination takes them.
The kids learn that there were dragons but they went through the crack but if they shake the book, they'll be back.
The drawings will appeal to children because it will remind them of drawing in art class in school. The soothing colours make it a gentle read.
A sweet picture book in which you won’t find any dragons… Or will you?
An interactive book to keep young readers glued to the pages trying to find all the hidden dragons on the pages. Some of the instructions are funny and keep you entertained. Besides the discovery of the many dragons, there wasn’t much else to take from the book, lesson and meaning-wise.
The concept is cute, but the illustrations don’t do much for me I’m sorry to say. If they intended them to look like a child drew them, they succeeded. Apologies.
This children's book was a great interactive way to engage kids in the story! I loved the illustrations and how the story flowed! Great job!
This book is so cute!
I really enjoyed the plot and the illustrations that play with the reader in a funny way that probably will make them laugh a lot. The illustrations are so nice and dreamy 😍
The title of this book reminds me of several fun children's books like "Don't Push the Button" and "There's a Monster at the End of This Book". It has a similar silly tone that invites the reader to keep going and winks at adults along the way. There are, in fact, dragons in this book (spoiler) and it is a delightful read. Although the art style is not for me, I think kids will enjoy the silly hiding spots of the dragon.

This book says there aren't dragons in it, and it means it. No matter what kinds of dragony messes you see, there's probably another explanation ... right?
This is a playful little book that considers the way that words can twist just a little bit to create new meaning. There are interactive elements, including twisty text and I spy moments. The illustrations are messy and fun, and the end has a funny little twist. It doesn't have a deep meaning, but it's a fun one to read aloud.
Thank you to NetGalley and the Publisher for this ARC. All opinions are my own.
Oh this one really cute and clever!
The book coming with simple illustrations and soft colors but reminds me alot into children drawing style. It will make kid feel close into the story. The interactive story it self really fun and intriguing. I am sure it will make children giggles, engaging and busy help searching the dragon.
Perfect book for kindegarden and early primary library collection.

This story is very short and OF COURSE there are dragons in the book! Every page invites you to explore the colorful, childlike illustrations to search for clues that there are, in fact, dragons in the book. It was fun! This is a book I would have greatly enjoyed as a kid. I wasn't crazy about the font. It seemed a bit too small and plain compared to the artwork. Sometimes a phrase would be jumbo-sized and tilted at an angle, and I would have a hard time finding where the rest of the sentence was because of the size difference. But on the whole, very cute and something I would consider buying a youngster in my family.
This is such a fun and adorable book!! It's engaging and interactive. I love that parts of the dragon are lurking in all the pictures as the narrator works to ensure the reader there are NO dragons in this book. Inquisitive kids will no doubt have lots of questions about the pictures. It's just so fun. The illustrations are cute and have lots of little intricacies to talk about.
