For all fans of The Book with No Pictures by B.J. Novak or Press Here by Herve Tullet.
There Are No Dragons in This Book will make kids fall over with laughter. I can totally imagine a group of kids at storytime yelling over each other to make the adults see that there are indeed, dragons in this book. I wasn’t a big fan of the illustrations, but I think kids don’t mind their simplicity.
This was a delightful and interactive book that will captivate your little ones with the story. Ideal for any dragon enthusiasts, just like us ;). Just when you think they're right and there's no dragon, if you look hard enough, you'll find them hidden. It's a creative book, and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The illustrations are lively; Every time we read it, we discover something new. It's so enjoyable to shake the book to see who might be hiding or to turn it a different way. We love how hands-on and interactive the book is. You'll love it. We certainly did.
Adorable. The art is fun, my kids would have loved looking for the dragon, that is obviously not in this book.
5 stars
This book was so adorable, I loved everything about it, the illustrations were so well done, they suited the book perfectly, the story was amazing as well. I’m sure the kids are going to be just as enthralled with this amazing book as I was. I will definitely recommend! Thank you netgalley and the publisher for this early copy
A big thank you to NetGalley and NorthSouth Books for the eARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. This is a children's book. This was difficult to read on my Kindle as the page formatting wasn't working. It is a short book. The verbage did not seem to flow. The graphics were nice. This was just okay for me. 3 stars
There are no dragons in this book, or are there?
I laughed the whole time I was reading this book.
This was so original, creative, fun (and funny!), surprising, cute, interactive and it had a satisfying ending.
I also loved that this is a diverse book (there was even a dragon wearing glasses). I really had the best time reading it!
Thank you NetGalley, for providing me with this arc in exchange for my honest review.
"There are no Dragon in this Book" is a cute little children's book. I read this with my dragon obsessed son, and he got really excited trying to point out to me where the dragon was on each page.
He enjoyed it. but my only critique is that the writing didn't seem to flow that well. Whilst reading aloud, there didn't seem to be a nice rhythm. So if I were to read it again with him, I probably wouldn't even read it aloud to him, and instead just let him look at the pictures on each page instead.
I did enjoy the page that asks the reader to shake the book to help get the dragons out, it was a nice interactive element.
There are No Dragons in this Book is an interactive read young readers will enjoy! Accompanied with fun illustrations, readers are encouraged to take a closer look and what they might find. Makes a great read-aloud!
This was cute! Fairly simple and great for young readers. Interactive and engaging! I received an advance review copy for free via Netgalley and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
This was a fun and interactive book that will get your little ones engaged in the story. Perfect for any dragon lovers out there, like us. Just when you think they are right and you don’t see a dragon if you look hard enough you find them hidden. This was a very creative book and we really enjoyed it. The illustrations are also fun and engaging. We discover something new everytime we read it. So fun to even shake the big to see who might be hiding or turning it a different way. We love how hands-on and interactive the book is. You will love it. We sure did.
I love interactive books that get the readers involved in the story! The art is wonderful. I don't even mind the dra- um... I mean, there are no dragons!

I'm not sure about this one. I like the color palate and it gives good descriptions/uses good adjectives, but the book is weird, especially the first page. I don't know if kids will like it.
This was cute. I liked the illustrations. A dragon was hidden throughout, so kids might have fun trying to spot him.
This is a cute interactive children's book for any kiddos interested in dragons, but personally I wasn't a fan of the illustrations as they sort of look like they've been drawn by children--maybe that'll have an appeal with them. I thought the story was very simple. The best interactive part was when it asks the reader to shake the dragons out of the spine, otherwise it's like a where's Waldo with dragons.
I think this was a cute idea but the illustrations were not my favorite, and I felt like the text wasn’t well thought out.

Well, this book doesn’t have dragons, or maybe it does. You have to read it to find out. ;)
This is a quirky concept with interactive text and no proper story. Each page has an illustration with short text, teasing the reader to read more and solve the tricky question. Does the book have dragons or not?
The community home setting brings some diversity to the characters. The backgrounds are in pastels, with the central theme highlighted in orange. This creates a nice contrast and helps kids easily identify the… shh… dragon! The humans are roughly sketched, with the kids being typically naughty. The illustrations are done in pencils (and/ or crayons), giving the book an almost ethereal and whimsical feel. The final illustration (with the cat) is such a cool touch!
To summarize, this is a fun little book meant for entertainment and laughs. Go with the flow, and don’t look for stories or morals.
Thank you, NetGalley and NorthSouth Books, for the eARC. This review is voluntary and contains my honest opinion about the book.
This picture book is so cute and funny! Let’s spot a dragon in a no dragon book, shall we?
I just want to know if the author is a young artist!
The entire read is fun and the artwork is perfect if you love crayons/pencil colours.
Thank you, North South Inc., for the advance reading copy.
Donna Lambo-Weidner's first picture book, "There are No Dragons in this Book", is a hilarious work that is superbly complemented by the illustrations by Carla Haslbauer. Narrated from the perspective of a mischievous dragon "in denial", Lambo-Weidner's story deals about some of the mayhem created by a dragon going about its business in a perfectly normal way.
Holes in walls, huge orange flares, gargantuan claws and a spiky tail are all bit perfectly natural phenomena which people are wont to experience every day. Why blame such sightings on a poor non-existent and innocuous dragon? Does such a creature event exist? Or is it the human imagination running riot when there are actually no dragons whatsoever running through the pages of the book?
"There are No Dragons in this Book" is a very apt book to be read to and along with kids to the accompaniment of what I sure would be more than just a bout of spirited and spontaneous guffaws!
"There are No Dragons in this Book" is published by NorthSouthBooks Inc and will go on sale from the 5th of March, 2024.
Thank You Net Galley for the Advance Reviewer Copy!

This is a very cool, creative book. Illustrations are wonderful. It got so immersive, that the kid jiggled the ipad to see if a dragon would op out of it. Fun.
Thanks to NetGalley I can read this fun picture book! I am very sure my little version will enjoy this book a lot since I do enjoy it even tho I'm an adult now. It was fun to see a part of the dragon here and there in this book while the narration said that there are no dragons! I also love the interactive part where we asked to shake the book so all the dragons that were lost could come back again.
