The book follows Olivia and her childhood acquaintance, Ryan when they are accidentally handcuffed together. Ryan is a celebrity returning to his hometown to help the local theater and Olivia is staying with her mom after a failed engagement.
Overall the book was cute and very hallmark-esque. It fell short for me due to the lack of flushed out scenes and ideas. I feel like there could have been so much more detail added. On the positive side, it was an easy read with likable main characters.
This is definitely a sloowww burn. If you’re into very cheesy romances, this could be a good read for you!
My opinion of this book is that it is a very cute slow burn romance. I loved Olivia and Ryan’s characters and their relationship development. If you love slow burns I would say this book is something you’d like. I also liked how moments from their childhoods were brought to the present to bring the story together.
This was a cute romcom! Olivia ends up handcuffed to her celebrity crush thanks to her well meaning friends. Even worse the key to the handcuffs is missing so they are locked together for a few days. I liked the characters and the setting was great. Overall a fun story!
Here we have a cute rom-com that was easy to follow which lead it to be a quick read.
The chemistry between the characters was good and they felt real even though some might say they didn't always acted their age.
If you are a fan of books that includes small town, fake relationship and closed door romance then this might be a good fit for you especially if you are enjoying Hallmark movies.
Wonderful story, great character development, great writing! Highly recommend this book. I thoroughly enjoyed it
Mia Summers vividly illustrated a cute romantic comedy. The readability was straightforward. It didn’t leave you guessing on who was talking. Overall, a 5/5 star read with a reallly good push and pull banter throughout.
I loved this. It was a sweet closed door romance and I loved every word of it. I could not get enough of it. It was so good! This is one of the best closed door romances I've read. Absolutely perfect.
I just reviewed Hooked On Hollywood by Mia Summers. #HookedOnHollywood #NetGalley

This is my first Mia Summers book and I really enjoyed it! Fans of Halmark movies or RomComs will enjoy.
Olivia is a small town girl, Ryan is a famous Actor with a reputation. They met as kids. They get stuck together via a date involving handcuffs, and things spiral from there.
Overall this was a very cute and sweet read. I loved how they fell in love little by little as time went on. Small town romances have always been my favorite! Would recommend to anyone who loves RomComs and is looking for a quick, easy read!
This one just didn’t work for me and I DNF. The characters were supposedly about my age but acted like they were in high school… I got that in the first couple chapters and couldn’t stand it.
I also couldn’t get over the FMC cop costume changing to a robbers costume and then changing back to a cop costume even though she never changed…. It was just icing on the cake of a disjointed book.
So I have to give it 1.5 stars.
Olivia Bloom finds herself thrust into a surreal situation when she wins a dinner date with her childhood crush and Hollywood heartthrob, Ryan Jones. However, there's a catch – they're handcuffed together, and the supposed "just for show" cuffs are not coming off. After a painful discovery of her fiancé's affair, Olivia, disillusioned with love, retreats to her small hometown. In an attempt to lift her spirits, her well-meaning friends concoct a plan to win a silent auction prize: a one-on-one date with Ryan Jones. Little do they know that this seemingly harmless plan will set off a series of events that will either reignite old feelings or drive Olivia and Ryan apart forever.
Ryan, a charming leading man, volunteers to be auctioned off for a dinner date, complete with handcuffs, to save his childhood community theatre from closure. The unexpected twist occurs when Olivia, the girl he never forgot, wins the bid. The date starts on a sour note due to a viral video tarnishing Ryan's image, leaving Olivia with a skewed perspective of him as an egotistical jerk.
As if things couldn't get more complicated, the duo discovers that the key to unlock the cuffs is missing, ensuring they are stuck together for the next five days. Amid the challenges and awkwardness, Olivia begins to develop unexpected feelings for Ryan. The question arises – will their forced togetherness be the catalyst for rekindling old emotions, or will it only deepen the divide between them?
It is a charming small-town romcom featuring a celebrity crush, a fake relationship, and a delectable slow burn. Mia Summers delivers sizzling chemistry, lovable characters, and a heartwarming story perfect for those who prefer a sweet romance with less heat. It is a delightful rom-com that delivers on its promise of a sweet and heartwarming story. The premise of being handcuffed to a childhood crush adds a unique and entertaining twist to the traditional romcom formula.
The author skillfully weaves together humour, charm, and a delicious slow burn, creating a narrative that keeps readers engaged from start to finish. Olivia and Ryan's dynamic is endearing, and their challenges while shackled together provide ample opportunities for laughter and heartfelt moments.
The small-town setting adds a cosy backdrop to the unfolding romance, and the closed-door aspect ensures that the focus remains on the emotional connection between the characters. Mia Summers successfully navigates the complexities of fake relationships and unexpected feelings, delivering a satisfying and heartwarming read.
"Hooked On Hollywood" is a delightful escape for readers who enjoy romcoms with lovable characters, witty banter, and a healthy dose of sweet romance.
Hooked on Hollywood is such a cute , closed-door rom-com! I"ll admit, I loved Ryan and Olivia's chemistry, and would have loved to have a bit of spice-my only complaint! This book is fake relationship/celebrity crush/forced proximity trope with a great slow burn that will keep you reading to see if they get their HEA! Thank you NetGalley, MIa Summers, and the publishers for an advanced copy of this book in exchange for my honest review!

Hooked on Hollywood is a second-chance, closed-door rom-com.
After catching her fiance cheating with her maid of honor, Olivia moves from LA back to her small hometown. Olivia's friends bid for her to win a dinner date with Ryan Jones (a Hollywood star and her childhood celebrity crush), who happens to be back in town to host a charity event. As luck would have it, they end up being handcuffed together for a week, and forced to acknowledge their true feelings for each other.
This book is super cute and funny. The scenes of Olivia and Ryan trying to figure out how to do everyday things while handcuffed had me laughing out loud. I also laughed when Ryan saw what Olivia had in her childhood bedroom. I felt Olivia's embarrassment! The banter between Olivia and Ryan was great! They had great chemistry and I was rooting for them to get past their issues and be together. I loved Olivia's creativity! Reading about the sock hop had me feeling nostalgic. I didn't like the phone mishap, stubbornness, judgments, and trust issues they pushed on each other, but all of that was necessary for this story to have a happy ending.
Although there are some holes in the story, some unanswered questions, and some predictable moments, this was an overall fun and easy read.
Thank you Mia Summers, Sterling & Stone, and NetGalley for providing me with an e-ARC in exchange for my honest review. Opinions expressed in this review are my own.
This book was immature and discombobulated. What could have been fun and flirty fell very flat and uncomfortable.
3.5 STARS.
I wouldn't say this was terrible, but it definitely had more potential.
The insta-love was a bit too much and too fast in my opinion. Also, I just feel like the characters were my age but still acted like they were in high school and that's a big turn-off for me in books.
thank you netgalley and publisher for an arc copy in exchange for an honest review.
I received this book as an ARC from Netgalley for my honest review! Thank you Netgalley! I think everyone needs some kind of Hallmark romance vibe books on their shelf for the cheese, ridiculous hijinks, and ultimately a fluffy romance where you know both of their dreams will come true and they'll live heapily ever after! I think this book and this author's others fit well into that category. It's easy and super, super light.
A cute small town, fake dating, close proximity second chance celebrity rom-com with zero spice.
Heartbroken and dreams shattered, Olivia returns to her quaint hometown after moving to LA and being betrayed by her cheating fiancé. Just as A-list actor recently entangled in bad press, Ryan, makes a reappearance in the small town for a charity auction to save their historical theatre (and hopefully his reputation). In a ploy to lift her sulking spirits, Olivia’s friends bid her the winner of dinner with her former childhood celebrity crush (after his on set rampage went viral). Ryan immediately recognizes Olivia as the girl that got away — in fourth grade. Things take a turn when they are handcuffed to each other for dramatic effect, and forced to remain that way for days. Doing their best damage control with the paparazzi, they spin a story of truths and dares that leaves them no choice but to come clean about their feelings for each other, then and now.
I actually adored the plot and all of the characters in this book and appreciated how Summers expertly wove Hollywood into the charming small town in a realistic way. However, this book read like a young high school romance most of the time. I had to keep asking myself how old the characters were (mid-twenties) and only found their age believable a few brief moments throughout (intellectually) and on the final page (physically). The lack of spice in such a close proximity storyline was a missed opportunity here. It didn’t need much, just something to prevent it from feeling juvenile. 2.5 stars rounded up because it really was "cute".
This was such a captivating and hooking plot. The characters were fun, and the story was easy to fly through. Can't wait to read more from this author.
This story was very well written and the entirety of the plot was quite captivating. I thoroughly enjoyed the characters, and the setting, and hope to read more from this author.
Overall, a definite 4/5 read!
I do love a good Hollywood romance! I am an absolute sucker for a romance that includes a famous character.
I did really enjoy this, it was a good fast paced book for me which made it flow and easy to read which makes me really enjoy those types of books.
This was my first Mia Summers book I would definitely pick up another.
I thought Olivia and Ryan worked really well together, had great chemistry. This was a great romcom 3.5/5 stars!
Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to read Hooked on Hollywood!
If you are a Hallmark movie fan then this book is for you! A tad predictable but a fun read!
Thank you once again!
