The last and final book in the Bergman family series! OMG what a journey! I feel so honored to have read these books. We finally have the long awaited story for Viggo, the ever intrusive brother who believes in romance for all but has trouble in the love department himself. I loved the FMC Tallulah and how she was the grump to Viggo’s sunshine. This book is the usual slow burn as all the books in the series. Great build up to a spicy payoff! I love this series so much and I will definitely be reading it all over again’

Only and Forever is the seventh and last book in Chloe Liese’s Bergman Brothers series. I’ve been reading it over the last year, picking up books on a whim in no particular order. Liese has done a good job of creating each story as a standalone romance so I haven’t felt any qualms about reading out of order. That being said, having been introduced to brother Viggo before, I was ready for him to meet his forever love.

Viggo has a lot going on in his life, but it hasn’t stopped him from hoping to meet ‘the one’. Definitely a true romantic at heart, he’s a rabid reader of romance novels (with the t-shirt collection to prove it) who runs a book club and has been working on setting up a romance-themed bookstore on the side (a secret endeavour he’s kept from his family). Truthfully his life is a bit chaotic, his ADHD diagnosis contributing to that chaos, so it’s not surprising he hasn’t met the girl of his dreams.

At a family gathering, he reunites with family friend, Talullah Clarke, who happens to be his unrequited crush from university. Any history between them is definitely one-sided as Talullah had snubbed him in class and hasn’t had the time of day for him since. But a morning coffee at the Bergman cottage has them now, seven years later, actually connecting.

Talullah is stuck. Stuck in writing the sequel to a bestselling thriller, stuck trying to find a place to live after her ex kicked her out, stuck with a toxic parent. But some early morning sharing with Viggo and his insightful thoughts inspire her to make some changes and move forward, and cements the start of a friendship between them.

A year later, Viggo has got his bookstore ready and told his family about it, and they’ve joined him for a soft-opening as he prepares to actually open his business to paying customers. Talullah shows up, the woman who has been in his thoughts but whom he hasn’t spoken with since that family gathering. As they reconnect, Talullah shares that she’s still having some trouble with her second novel, in particular the relationship between the married couple whose relationship is on the rocks. And Viggo admits that he’s feeling stressed with all the things he’s trying to do with the bookstore, including setting up a cafe with homemade treats for customers. During their discussions, they realize there’s a way they can help each other out;Talullah could work with him at the bookstore and Viggo could help brainstorm ways to fix Talullah’s relationship story issues. As they work together to fix each other’s problems, will their closeness lead to something more?

Viggo is such a sweetheart! If you like gentle giant heroes who fall first, this is definitely a read for you. He’s smitten with Talullah, and even more so when she explains her attitude in university and why she was so closed off to him back then, and her opening up to him now just makes him fall harder for her. I really enjoyed these two characters, with Talullah’s acerbic wit and Viggo’s ability to banter with her and make her feel genuinely cared for. They have genuinely honest conversations about many things, including Talullah’s diabetes and Viggo’s ADHD struggles.

It’s not long before they give in to their mutual attraction, which leads to some sexy scenes. Talullah, who has been crashing at her sister’s due to difficulties with her last landlord, ends up living in the spare bedroom at the back of Viggo’s shop where he has a two-bedroom apartment that came with the store. There’s an end date involved in her stay, meaning that when they sleep together, Talullah is able to convince herself that it’s just while they’re roommates. She doesn’t believe in happy endings after seeing her parents’ relationship, the fallout from which has scarred all three of their children. Viggo has his work cut out for him convincing her that what they have is real.

The close-knit Bergman family is heavily featured in the story (no surprise since it’s the seventh book of the series) and I loved seeing all of the couples and siblings together (even for the books I haven’t read yet). Talullah gets a chance to see what a loving family is really all about, and it goes a long way to healing her own heart, especially with their warm-hearted welcome into their family. Chloe Liese has the formula down pat for having realistic characters who have mental and physical struggles get their well-deserved happy endings and I’m happy to recommend this opposites-attract romance.

Romance reader Viggo gets his story at last! In between taking care of all his siblings, launching his romance bookstore, juggling pet care and soccer coaching, things are starting to fall through the cracks. Naturally, he invites the woman he has a crush on to come live with him and help him manage his store in return for a place for Tallulah to write in solitude. They're complete opposites, with Tallulah the grumpy jaded cynic and Viggo's sweet, warm, open nature draws her out. The slow burn from frenemies to romance is sheer delight. His executive function challenges are ADHD related, and she's an organizational powerhouse, so eventually find they compliment one another, more than they clash.

This is the last in the Bergman Brothers series of romances focuses on a sprawling, imperfect, loving family and the friends and lovers they take into their fold. Most are loosely structured on classic romances and comedies, from Austen to Shakespeare... to Ted Lasso. The seven Bergman siblings live/work/play in SoCal (but spend time in the Pacific Northwest in their expanded A-frame family vacation home) and are of Swedish descent; geographical and cultural details beautifully round out the love stories. Each tale, edited and re-released by Berkley Romance with a bright, attractive cover, includes a preface from the author about her commitment to writing neurodivergent and chronically ill characters. All of Liese's characters are portrayed with authenticity and sensitivity, and a recognition that no two people's lived experiences are alike. The gentle trigger warnings may be helpful and appreciated by some readers. Each has a signature scent, and most have a preferred nickname because they don't like their full name, and each have a term of endearment bestowed upon them by their lover. New bonus epilogues further the story, and sometimes help segue to the next; afterwards include more information, and often, each concludes with a sample chapter the next book in the series. Each chapter is told in alternating points of view, and each chapter in each book is prefaced with a song title/artist evocative of the mood, tone or subject of the chapter. All of the titles are cleverly pulled from a snip of dialogue spoken from one protagonist to the other at a pivotal moment.

I love being able to dive back into the Bergman family and finally see Viggo get his story. I also love that it was a romance bookstore and a thriller writer together. The two of them complimented each other and also allowed each other room to grow.

Finally we have Viggo's story!!!! Ahh I've been waiting so long for this and it was just. SO.GOOD! Tallulah and Viggo's story was everything I wanted. It was interesting reading about a male main character who is a hopeless romantic, but it was so refreshing! I literally am crying that this is the last book and we saying good bye to this family. They truly are my heart and soul. Read this is you love a slow burn, frenemies to lovers, roommates, pining, no third act break up and ADHD and diabetes representation.

This fictional family is everything to me and I already want to do a reread.

Another fabulous book by Chloe! Chloe has an amazing way of fully immersing you into her worlds and making readers fall in love with her characters. I always have the worst book hangovers after finishing a Chloe book.

Viggo is THE best! I love this whole family, but I have a soft spot for this guy! His story was absolute perfection!

This was the perfect sweet and cozy romance read to get me out of my reading slump! This book contained some of my favorite romance tropes, including sunshine/grumpy and forced proximity. In "Only and Forever" Viggo is a romantic-hearted man who dreams of his happily ever after. Tallulah is a somewhat cynical struggling writer. The two were in college together but hadn't seen each other since until Tallulah unexpectedly shows up at Viggo's family gathering. Their relationship develops from there.

Going into this, I wasn't aware that this was the last book in a series. It works fine as a stand-alone, however, there were a lot of moments I probably would have enjoyed more had I read the rest of the series first. Viggo's family dynamic was one of my favorite things about this book. I loved his family! It took me a while to warm up to Tallulah but by the end of the book I was really rooting for the two of them to have their happily ever after.

Only and Forever review

I have been eager for Viggo’s book since the beginning of this series. I remember laughing so hard at Sebastian’s description of Viggo as “always waving around a romance novel, yelling about toxic masculinity and happy endings” and just knew I would love him and his story.

Their journey to falling in love was authentic, emotional, and deeply relatable. I loved how they supported each other even as they were fighting their feelings.

This book was a wonderfully crafted contemporary romance and an amazing end to a great series. Only and Forever was an insightful, heartfelt, and enjoyable read with great banter and emotional depth.

I love Chloe Liese. I loved the other books in this series and all of Viggo’s siblings, but this one didn’t hit the same to me. I struggled with the chemistry between Viggo and Tallulah. I also know I read this during a busy work season for me so I’m hoping I love it more with a reread.

I loved the grump/sunshine trope and that Tallulah was the grump. I love Viggo and how much he loves romance.

I thought this was very good and I will have to add this to the shop shelves. Thank you for the chance for us to review.

I didn't realize this one was part of a series when I requested it, but I didn't have much trouble reading it as a standalone. I do think that more of a. background on each of Viggo's siblings and their relationships would have brought something to the story that I missed, but the story as a whole was fine without knowing any of that.

I enjoyed Viggo and I liked him and Tallulah together, both as friends and then more once their chemistry hit a breaking point. I liked the variety of tropes, and thought they were balanced out well between characters. The fact that Tallulah was the grumpy, jaded/cynical character to Viggo's romance loving sunshine self was a fun twist on the norm, and I really enjoyed that. The ADHD and diabetes rep were a nice add and I was happy to see both in the story.

I probably won't go back and read the others in this series, but I will read future books by this author.

I still can't believe this series is over! And what a way to finish it off, with hopeless romantic Viggo Bergman and the woman who is his complete opposite in every way. I never could have predicted the personality of Viggo's love interest because Viggo always felt like the character who kept parts of himself locked away. In the previous books, he plays a very big role in matchmaking for his siblings, which is why having his book be last was the perfect decision. Not only did he not take any of his advice that he loves to dole out to his siblings, but he actually struggled a lot with his feelings. I loved seeing how he navigated that with Tallulah.

Another great book by Chloe Liese! This is the first book from the Bergman Brothers series and now I'm excited to go back and read the others!

I loved Tallulah and Viggo's connection. The way they knew each other from college and the way they fell for each other made for a great storyline.

One thing I really loved and appreciated was the inclusivity in the story. Representation for mental health, and diabetes was great! I really like that she puts so much inclusion in her books and it's obvious that a lot of research and work goes into the accuracy of the representation.

Reverse grumpy/sunshine was a fun time in this one! Such a fun switch up from the normal.

Only and Forever was the best ending to the Bergman brothers series that I could have ever asked for. Finally getting Viggo’s happily ever after was worth the wait. I was unable to put it down and it frequently had me kicking my feet. Tallulah was a perfect match for Viggo and I’m also a sucker for a story about opening a bookstore (slash dream small business). As always, Chloe Liese makes sure to include diverse representation and highlights the importance of understanding and respecting chronic illness. Especially invisible illness. Great beach read or cozy comfort rom com read.

📚 series info 📚
The Bergmans are a close knit family, so you will see a lot of the previous couples and allude to their story, so I think they are best read in order. Book 1 was a little slow to me, but book 2 is one of my favorite books that I’ve ever read, so they are worth your time, and I’ve loved the rest of the series! All of the romances are slow burn, but I feel like they burn slower as the series goes on - so keep that in mind!

📚 review 📚

I put this book off for months because I wasn’t ready to say goodbye to the Bergmans!

Viggo might be my favorite Bergman. I love when the MMC is given characters more commonly given to FMCs, so a romance novel obsessed MMC is absolutely my kind of man. I loved that he always smelled like cinnamon sugar to Tallulah. Talk about a cinnamon roll MMC! I also love it when the FMC is given traits more often seen with MMCs. So I loved that Tallulah was a thriller writing romance cynic.

If you loved the part in The Hating Game where the FMC realized that he painted his bedroom walls the exact shade of her eyes - there’s a moment you’ll absolutely love in this one!

Lately, it feels like recovering from childhood trauma or the loss of a parent seems like a really common trope, so any time we get to see Mom & Dad Bergman, it feels like such a treat!

🎧 I love this duo, and that they narrated almost all of the books together!
