I wish I could be an honorary Bergman 😭 I love this crazy fam so damn much. Like with all of Chloe Liese’s books, Viggo and Lula’s story was filled with fun banter, incredible tension, as well as very real vulnerabilities and strengths in equal measure.

Viggo’s ADHD experience feels so true to my own. I often forget to eat, I hyperfixate like it’s my job, and I’m always doing multiple things at the same time.

I also related to Lula in so many ways, and not just because of the blue hair… I’ve felt so many of the same things when it comes to prioritizing others needs above mine, even to my own detriment. I’ve felt disillusioned due to past relationships/experiences. I really loved her story and character development.

I’m so sad this series has come to an end. The Bergman Brother series has some of the best visibility/representation I’ve ever seen in books. The truth/reminder that every person is worthy and capable of love and happily ever after shines through in each book.

Highlights:
- Romance: MF
- Grumpy/sunshine (she’s the grump)
- ADHD visibility
- Type 1 Diabetes visibility
- Roommates
- One bed
- Hopeless romantic & a huge cynic

Note: I received an advance copy from the author & Berkley. Decision to read/review was my own. Opinion is my own.

Only and Forever by Chloe Liese
Release Date: 4/2/24
Format: ebook/audio hybrid
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I have adored the Bergmans from the dedication of book one and to finish this series is so bittersweet. But to end on Viggo’s story is such a fitting ending. To see him get his HEA before leaving the A Frame in the rear view was such a treat.

This book is everything we have come to know and love from Chloe Liese…it’s representation at its finest, it’s impeccable humor, it’s vulnerable moments with a side of steam. But it’s also a message of what love looks like in real life vs. romance novels. It is perfect!

I knew I was going to be smitten with Viggo, but Chloe is still out here ruining book boyfriends for the world. Adopting animals, owning a bookstore, forever chasing his HEA and pining over icy Tallulah? He’s just so wonderful. I absolutely adored Tallulah as a FMC too and thought she was the perfect and most unlikely match for our historical romance lover!

This series is just so beautiful and will forever hold such a special place in my heart. Thank you, Chloe Liese, for sharing this family you dreamt up with us. And thank you to @netgalley for the arc of this book in exchange for my honest opinion!

Alright, am I crazy because I started the series on the last book? Yes. Do I regret it? Nope!

While I really thought I'd love this book, it ended up just being okay. I didn't love it, but I didn't hate it. The spice scenes were great and I really enjoyed them. It's definitely a spicy book so the smut is there! I think what I didn't enjoy were the characters and some of the tropes. I really hate insta-love depending on how it's written. This one in particular was written where he falls first, but he falls so hard and fast and I didn't feel like the fmc felt the same way which made it awkward lol.

I also got the ick from Viggo several times which is so unfortunate. He's quirky in a way that wasn't always cute for me. I also couldn't stand the amount of times that man winked at her. Like, was there something in your eye sir?

Having read the last book first I don't think I will be reading the rest of the series. They might be better, but I'm just not interested.

It’s hard to believe I’ve been reading this series for four years! Only When It’s Us was one of my early reads when I started my romance journey and I’ve loved following along with this family since then!⁣

I, like many people I think, was waiting for Viggo’s book with every new release. Now, at the end of this series, it seems fitting that he was the last story to be told. ⁣

I really enjoyed Viggo and Tallula’s story. They both came into their roommate arrangement with some baggage but found a way to be honest with one another. They both said what they were thinking/feeling and I found that refreshing. I loved their banter and interactions. They each had an opportunity to take care of the other and those were some of my favorite moments. ⁣

We got small glimpses of the other siblings and significant others, which I loved. I hope we’ll get more in the future via bonus epilogues or a novella. 🤞🏻⁣

The detail included for Tallula’s Type 1 diabetes was appreciated. The level of research was clear and I’m always impressed by the care taken in Chloe’s books. ⁣

This was a bittersweet ending for me and I’m really going to miss being in the Bergman world! ⁣

Expect:⁣
⌨️ Forced Proximity⁣
📚 Black Cat/Golden Retriever⁣
⌨️ Type 1 Diabetes and ADHD rep⁣
📚 He reads romance!⁣

Thank you to the author and Berkley Romance for an eARC of this book. All opinions are my own and given voluntarily.

I have been SO excited to read this book ever since at LEAST book three (and maybe even before) when Viggo really started to shine for me as a character and this book

DID. NOT. DISAPPOINT.

I wound up falling in love with Viggo even more than I was expecting when I read this book. There was so much about his character that I found to be SO relatable, and it was so satisfying to read his perspective after experiencing him as such a prominent supporting character throughout the series.

Not to mention I am OBSESSED with his dynamic with Tallulah. Leave it to the hopeless romantic to fall in love with the thriller writer that doesn’t believe in happy endings (the opposites attract is opposites attracting). The execution of the “she’s grumpy, he’s sunshine” trope was done SO WELL and the romance between these two characters was SO on point.

Speaking of Tallulah, I LOVED her character development. Chloe Liese is a master at writing characters that have to learn to be vulnerable and embrace the relationship in front of them, and I love seeing that journey play out every time.

Overall, this book was even better than I was expecting. With a romance reading hero and a grumpy author heroine, some adorable furry friends, top-tier roommates to lovers tension, as well my favorite family dynamic in any book EVER, this was exactly the kind of strong conclusion this series deserved.

The Bergman series continues with the romance-book-loving hero, Viggo.

This one was a bit tough for me because the author opted for an unlikeable heroine: Tallulah Clarke. Viggo has always been interested in her, but Tallulah is so closed off and the ultimate cynic. She and Viggo are at complete odds. Yet these two find themselves needing each other in an odd way that gives them both a chance to do what they’ve struggled with: rely on others.

This book was good because it took two completely different types of people who faced similar issues but for entirely different reasons. Viggo has always had his family but has struggled to commit to things and often can get side-tracked due to his struggles with ADHD. Tallulah came from a rough family life that shocked the very foundations of trusting others and believing that people would be there for her. While Viggo and Tallulah are opposites in their opinions on love, they’ve both struggled in different ways and continue to struggle. Where Tallulah has pursued a future as a writer, her writing misses romance, and Viggo is an expert on that but not so much at handling the wildness of his life. That’s where Tallulah comes in.

This book summoned forth emotions in me that I was surprised by. I really cared about Viggo getting his happily ever after and finding someone who would treat him right. I really didn’t think that would be Tallulah with her cynicism towards romance. But she wasn’t immune to the magic Viggo was capable of. On the flip side, Viggo is adorable, and he needs someone like Tallulah to push him past his hang-ups. Because shockingly, for being such a romance lover, he definitely has a few issues.

From an overall story perspective, this one meets all the qualities of a slow burn. Things take a bit to heat up on the page, but once they do, Liese delivers. There are plenty of shenanigans, which can only be found in a Bergman Brothers book, along with plenty of family moments with some favorites from previous books in the series. All-in-all, this one is a nice wrap-up to the series. I will say, Liese saved the best for last. Only and Forever works as a standalone. Though, I recommend to fully enjoy this series you should read the other books.

This was a beautiful ending. I honestly wasn't sure what to expect with this book. The Bergmans hold such a special place in my heart - each of their stories are touching and important in so many different ways - and I didn't want it to end.

I'll be honest, I wasn't sure what to expect with this book. I'd liked Viggo previously, but there were some moments in other books where I personally felt like he was getting a little high-handed and pushy and dare I say preachy with his siblings and their partners and I wasn't sure how that was going to come off in his book. I should have trusted that Chloe knew exactly what she was doing. Viggo's growth and maturity was amazing to see. I loved watching his dream become a reality seeing him adjust his expectations on what he's supposed to get out of a romance and make it something real.

Viggo and Tallulah's relationship was so special - I love how they supported and leaned on one another, discovering new things about each other and growing together. She was a great new character and I adored their history together and seeing her take such courageous steps to grow and heal was amazing. Their love was palpable and made me feel so happy for how this truly one-of-a-kind series has wrapped up.

Viggo Bergman.
Romance book reader. Plant daddy. Baker. Prankster. Lover of love. Curious. Kind. Enthusiastic. Generous. Son. Brother. Friend.

And now, the romantic lead. The role Viggo has been wanting for so long. To find his love, to care and nurture, to hold tight and to be held.

Viggo has watched his brothers and sisters meet their partners, fall in love, work through challenges and if he nudged them along the way, well, so be it. 😉

We’ve spent some time with Viggo in the previous books, but now we get to know him in depth. His vulnerabilities. His insecurities. His dream, goals and triumphs. The secrets he’s been hiding from even his family.

Of course the person who captures Viggo’s heart isn’t who he expected, despite having a past history with her. Tallulah is Viggo’s complement in so many ways. Not a fan of romance. Grumpy and cynical while he is sunshine and optimism. A bit of a loner while he seeks out people.

Reunited by their siblings, they soon find themselves spending a lot of time together when Lula needs a place to live and help adding some romance to her book while Viggo needs help getting his new business venture off the ground.

And while neither set out to do so with the other, they quickly find themselves making a home together, complete with all the plants and some very adorable pets, as well as helping one another become the best version of themself.

And it wouldn’t be a Bergman book without meddling siblings, time at the A-frame, Bergman brothers summit, and catching up with all the characters we fell in love with in the previous six books.

The entire series is brilliant and Viggo’s story is the perfect ending.

While there is some sadness, we can revisit the family and return to the A-frame. Each time we read, we’ve lived a bit more of our own lives and can read with new perspectives and feelings, empathizing in different ways, appreciating the nuances and struggles, celebrating the small and big moments.

Thank you, Chloe, for sharing the Bergmans with us. We ❤️ you.
Thanks to @berkleyromance @berkleypub for the eARC. All opinions and feelings are my own.

It’s the end of an era & I’m not alright 🥹

Only and Forever is the 7th & final book in Chloe Liese’s Bergman Brothers series & it features Viggo, the softest people pleasing, romance loving hero of the bunch 👇🏻

Viggo is opening a romance bookstore but instead of asking for help, not wanting to burden his family or friends, he’s doing it all himself. He runs into his once college acquaintance, Tallulah. She’s a thriller writer trying to finish her sophomore novel. She’s struggling to master the chemistry & tension between her husband & wife MC’s, not to mention currently without a place in LA to stay. The pair come up with an agreement: Tallulah will move into the spare bedroom of the store’s apartment with Viggo & help work at his bookstore & in exchange for being a “romantic advisor” for her novel.

This is a very character driven book as we slowly watch these two very opposite MC fall head over heels. We’ve watched Viggo grow from book one, but Tallulah was brought up in a very different, toxic household. Because of this, she’s made herself closed off & holds an anti-love state of mind. Viggo felt like the perfect match. This is a slow burn to love & intimacy, but when it hit.. BOOM 💥 So many moments to love here: Viggo & Tallulah talking about romance novels & getting all hot & bothered from it, then cuddling on the couch. The rescue animals! I’m swooning just remembering it all. Not to mention all the cameos from the Bergman family. It was a heart warming end to one of my favorite series of all time.

Viggo’s love for historical romances has provided inspiration to all of his brothers pairings so when he meets Tallulah again, it comes as no surprise when his siblings and their spouses try to matchmake. He doesn’t really need their machinations because since finding her again, he is all in. Tallulah has a back story filled with unhappiness and she doesn’t trust that love is true. Viggo on the other hand has his head in the clouds, wishing for those wild gestures and romantic moments but with her he finds patience and understanding. I liked the two of them together and it was nice to see Viggo finally find his own true love.

I have really enjoyed the Bergman Brothers romances and admittedly Viggo was a fun side character. Some of the things that made him so charming in small bits were maybe a touch too much for the main hero but I was willing to give this author the benefit of the doubt. I will say that Tallulah’s personality balanced his because she leaned hard towards the realistic and cold hard facts side of romance. They were in fact each others match.

If you like soft-hearted heroes and icy but sweet heroines then this is the right romance for you! It was a nice end to The Bergman Brothers series, but still left me hankering for more.

Reading this book was bittersweet. I found this series over a year ago and have thoroughly enjoyed every single one, so I was so excited for Viggo’s book, my little hopeless romantic 🫶🏼 Although, yes I am a bit sad that this series has come to an end, I feel like Viggo’s book wonderfully wrapped it up and it just made me so happy 🥹

Viggo and Tallulah were everything to me. I just admire the way Chloe Liese writes her characters because both Viggo and Tallulah touched me and I found myself relating to both at some points.
Viggo is such a hopeless romantic and truly such a big softie. All I wanted for him was his happy ending since he was always so hard on himself. And he’s just so kind and the work he puts in towards the people he cares about is just so admirable.
Tallulah was so strong, after everything she’s been through I can understand why she would close herself off, but god how I LOVED her growth. Those moments she shared with Viggo when she let him in were just so heartwarming and perfect. And Viggo was just amazing and patient with her. I love them so much 🫶🏼🫶🏼

What a wonderful way to wrap up the series. It was quite a journey. I’m so happy we got small cameos of the Bergman family, I really did miss them and I’m just so happy at the same time for every single character.

Chloe Liese can do no wrong in my eyes, this book, like all her others had that same effect, they are real, tender, heartwarming love stories (oh and the tension is always top tier lol). And it’s just amazing how she writes for different people in such a careful way and makes you believe that anyone and everyone deserves love. I just truly admire her writing.

Thank you Berkley and NetGalley for the arc!!

LOVED this book -- Cannot recommend it highly enough. What a great sendoff for the Bergman Brothers series!

"Only and Forever" is the 7th installment, though it can be read as a standalone, in the Bergman Brothers series. The owner of a romance bookstore (and a true hopeless romantic to boot), Viggo Bergman is a golden retriever hero through and through. While he dreams of his own happily ever after, he's harbored an unrequited crush for years. The object of his affections? Cynical thriller writer Tallulah Clarke, who doesn't have a romantic bone in her body.

When Tallulah runs up against a major case of writer's block, Viggo offers to help her flesh out her book's romantic subplot in exchange for her help around his disorganized store. Simply out of convenience, Tallulah moves in with Viggo. They challenge each other -- and fall in steamy, swoony, earth-shattering love along the way.

In addition to being great love stories, so many of Chloe Liese's books, especially in this series, have solid disability representation. "Only and Forever" is no exception; Tallulah has Type 1 diabetes, and Viggo has ADHD. Liese depicts both their experiences with excellent, sensitive detail and depth.

We felt like this book was MADE for us, particularly given the disability rep and Viggo's love of all things romance.

I was instantly drawn into the story. The more I read, the more invested I became. I literally had goosebumps from head to toe, my eyes were filled with tears, and I was just overflowing with these intense FEELINGS for this story. Undoubtedly, would be recommending this one!

A few years ago I was introduced to the Bergman Brothers series and immediately fell in love. This series of standalone novels follows the sweetest group of siblings as they all find love. I’ve been raving about this series and I will keep raving about it. I’ve seen where Chloe has said everyone deserves a love story, and her stories really epitomize that feeling. She is incredible at creating incredible neurodiverse love stories, and seamlessly weaving complex issues into beautiful love stories. If you haven’t read this series yet, do it. Now.

Only and forever is the seventh and final book in the series where Viggo finally gets his turn to find love. Viggo is a romance reading hopeless romantic and I am so glad he found his person in cynical Tallulah. Despite being polar opposites they agree to help each other - Tallulah, a thriller author, needs help with the romance subplot of her next book, and Viggo needs an extra set of hands to help him with his new romance bookstore. But their connection proves to be the ultimate plot twist neither saw coming.

This book is everything I could have wanted for the conclusion of the series. This book has Chloe’s signature swoon worthy romance and beautiful representation, with this story featuring ADHD, and Type 1 Diabetes. While I hated to see this series end, this ending was the sweetest and was made even better with the many glimpses we got to see of the other 6 siblings. This was another incredible story and I will definitely be rereading this series again.

Thank you to Berkley Publishing and NetGalley for the advance copy.

This was my first Chloe Liese read, and although it’s the last of the Bergman brothers, I loved this story and can’t wait to read the other Bergman’s’ books. Tallulah and Viggo are an interesting couple and I love the vibe of enemies to lovers in the beginning. Both harbored a crush for the other, only for it to be relit years later.

So many great things in this read! One bed, non-forced proximity (but it’s convenient right), the tension, slow burn, chronic illness representation grumpy and sunshine, and more, I also love the Viggo owns a romance bookstore, and is the one in this book who is obsessed with romance and Happily Ever Afters.

Thank you Netgalley & Berkley for the review copy.

I know I’m in good company with many people who are sharing all the feelings today about this final installment being officially out in the world. We’ve all been waiting for our romance-loving Viggo to find his HEA, and Chloe took good care of his heart by pairing him with romance-hater Tallulah (no, really, she does!). Opposites on paper, they share similar insecurities and find mutually beneficial (and also, mutually beneficial *wink*) ways to support each other as they strive for professional success.

Liese’s writing is always lyrical, emotional, humorous, and heartfelt, and she hit all of the notes with Only and Forever. Reading this book reminded me why I fell in love with both the Bergmans and also reading again in 2021, and I can’t wait to add this to my comfort reread rotation.

Only and Forever was a wonderful way to close out the Bergman Brothers series! I was definitely looking forward to our favorite hopeless romantic, Viggo's, love story. It was wonderful to see Viggo and Tallulah's love grow as they moved in together as roommates and learned to help each other in their careers. I absolutely loved the emotional depth that came with their romantic and friendship dynamic. Tallulah's personality is more of your closed off, grumpy personality. A huge focus of this book was her emotional character growth in the way she learned break through her walls with loving people and romantic love. I absolutely loved how Viggo's character complimented Tallulah's, he was patient, kind, and communicative.

It was such a pleasure to see all of the previous Bergman relationships and children. While I think the romantic love in Only and Forever was swoony worthy and engaging, the elements of friendship and familial love were just as wonderful. There were multiple moments that felt very full circle based on the previous books and I felt like Chloe's decision to slot Viggo's love story last payed off really well. I would definitely recommend this to my followers and audience!

Thank goodness for my ApollyCon TBR or I have no idea when I would have gotten around to reading Chloe Liese, and that would have been a shame. There are just so many things that were so realistic in this book, and I ate it up. ADHD, type 1 diabetes, real life love vs romance books love, and just so much more. Yet Viggo is also the epitome of a perfect book boyfriend. Literally just obsessed.

I've already went and downloaded what Bergman Brothers books I could from my library. So say a prayer for my ApollyCon TBR because now it's competing with me just wanting to read Chloe Liese's backlist.

I have loved the Bergman family for years so it was a little bittersweet to be reading the final book in the series. But this one gave me everything I was hoping for; I was laughing, swooning, and crying. Viggo and Tallulah were pulling at my heartstrings from page one - I adored them so much. There was such a vulnerability to their relationship and watching it evolve from friendship to romance was really satisfying. This couple spent so much time together - practically every moment - that I could feel how comfortable they were with each other and just how much love they shared, even when they weren't ready to admit it. This really was the most beautiful final book in this beloved series.
