Lia is engaged. Her best guy friend of 10 years is going to help her through wedding planning because her new future mother-in-law is more like a monster.
I love Breaker and Lia. This book had everything from love to laughter. I want more of the love story.
Thank you for Meghan Quinn, Sourcebook Bloom Books and NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This is my first book from Ms. Quinn and it will not be my last. I barely put it down once I started reading. Her witty dialogue and quirky characters pulled me immediately in.
Lia and Breaker have been best friends for a decade after bonding in college. Lia has accepted a marriage proposal and Breaker is not thrilled. This is his bestie, and he knows change is imminent. Plus he really dislikes Brian. Lia's fiance is pretty clueless to what she really wants and he is constantly trying to please his overbearing and psychopathic mother, putting Lia last. Breaker intercedes with the wedding planning to give Lia moral support. The results are hilarious at times and equally heart tugging.
I can't recommend this story enough and it has to be one of the romancrs I have read in a while.
Special thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for a copy of this book for my reading pleasure.

Absolutely cannot say enough good things about this book! Breaker is the ultimate book boyfriend, and anyone can fight me over him being their "Pickle of Honor!"
I always forget how unfiltered Meghan's characters are, and nearly choked multiple times while listening to the audiobook today, but every moment was worth it.
I should've known when they first meet at a secret Scrabble club that I was going to fall hard for Lia and Breaker, but I had no idea just how much! Their genuine friendship grows over time and is something to be envious of.
I'm sad to see the Cane Brothers come to their happy ends, but it was a journey I'd gladly go on multiple times (and probably will!)

Thank you to NetGalley, Sourcebooks Bloom, and Meghan Quinn for giving me an eARC of A Long Time Coming in exchange for my honest review.
I think I just discovered a love for the friends-to-lovers trope. I was not expecting to love the trope as much as I did. There is something so wonderful about learning about an already-established friendship and getting to experience the transformation from friends to lovers. Breaker and Lia have been best friends since college and have never truly considered being more than best friends. However, everyone around them can see the connection between the two. It is not until Lia gets engaged that Breaker realizes that he loves Lia. Do not fret tho, this is not a love triangle. I refuse to spoil anything about how it plays out but trust me when I say this is not your average love triangle, nor does one exist in the first place. I would HIGHLY recommend this book to all romance lovers out there; those who love the friends-to-lovers trope, and those who have not read much of that trope (like me). I will say that this book is a standalone, however a lot of it will make so much more sense if you read the first two books first. The dynamics of characters is not established, because it was established in the first two books (minus Lia and Breakers romance), and as such it makes more sense in my mind to read the books in order.

This was an adorable friends to lovers romance. Breaker and Lia are two peas in a pod. I loved them as nerdy friends with all the crazy things in common. And Breaker was a wonderful buffer as Man of Honor because poor Lia sure needed him.
With Breaker as a best friend, I think Lia’s bar for a boyfriend / husband should have been higher. It was disappointing for me to see how she allowed both her boyfriend and his mom to treat her. It seemed out of character for her to let people walk all over her. It was a relief when something so bad happened to finally snap her back to her senses.
Breaker and Lia as a true romantic couple were total goals.

Wow wow wow ! Probably my favorite of the cane brothers! I loved this friendship to lover book ! So cute

Friends to lovers is my absolute favorite trope so I was very excited for Lia and Breaker. Even though Lia starts off the book engaged to someone else, I didn't have an issue with any lines being crossed. This was easily one of my favorite Meghan Quinn books.
Thanks to Bloom Books and Netgalley for my copy to review.

i absolutely loved this book! from seeing the time that they met, to their friendship now, and them realizing they were meant to be all this time. it was truly a long time coming!
this book was the perfect amount of romcom and spice, i laughed out loud several times while reading this book and i'm sure people were looking at me all crazy while i was doing so. i loved everything about this book, breaker and lia are perfect!

I just love the Cane boys so much! And Breaker is just the icing on the cake! <3 <3
Thank you NetGalley and BloomBooks for the opportunity to read this eARC in exchange for an honest review.

Thanks to NetGalley for an ARC in exchange for a review,
I've seen all the hype and I was excited to give Meghan Quinn another try, but I don't think her books are for me. I love romance books, and I love the tropes and everything that comes with it, but when I read this one I just felt like I'd read different parts of this books in others. Breaker and Lia were fine, but I didn't feel really engaged in this story and it was near impossible to get through.
I don't think her books are for me, but I can see why a lot of people like them. Her plotting for me was too predictable but her writing is well done and her characters are interesting and flawed and fun.
Breaker Cane's best friend, Lia Fairweather-Fern, can't get married without some extra help. That's why she's recruited him to take on the snarling beast that's her soon-to-be monster-in-law, Mrs. Beaver. For some reason, the groom's mother seems to have never heard the phrase, "What the bride wants, the bride gets." Lucky for Lia, Breaker has, and he accepts the challenge. After all, how much trouble can one woman cause?
The problem is, it isn't Mrs. Beaver giving Breaker the most grief—it's actually Lia. Because with every second her wedding draws closer, he's starting to see her in a different light. She's always been beautiful, but now, he finds himself staring a touch too long, his hand lingering for one more minute, and when she's upset? Allowing her to sleep in his bed.
Before he knows it, it hits him like a ton of bricks: he's fallen in love with his best friend.
Nothing is snapping him out of it. Not the girl he tries to date during the wedding planning. Not Lia's increasingly suspicious fiancé. Not even the looming deadline of her upcoming nuptials.
Which means there's only one thing left to do: prove to Lia he's the one she should be with instead.
And it's going to be a lot harder than he thinks.

I am just a huge fan of Meghan Quinn’s and this series is one of my favorites! I was so happy to get to read Breakers story. The friendship that be and Lia had was easily the best!
The only downside to this book is how hard they fought to not let their feelings develop into more romantic ones.
It was there all along and at points got so frustrating. I mean having sleepovers with a male best friend while having a fiancé and planning your wedding with said friend because your fiancé doesn’t show up was maddening. I mean Lia come on! But once they finally got there the book was fantastic.

5 stars
Not So Meet Cute was recently gifted to me and Not So Meant To Be has been in my cart for a while now so I jumped at the chance to be able to read this one. It did not disappoint. While part of a series, it 100% can be read as a standalone because Huxley and JP's stories with Lottie and Kelsey are explained enough to where nothing is lost. The past is subtly explained in a way that feels organic and not like there's 2 books of history missing. My eARC also had the cutest b&w drawings every few chapters which was amazing to SEE the characters in the scenes. I hope all the books have those.
That being said, Breaker and Lia's story I think was the place to start. We find out that Breaker is by far the kinkier and wilder one of the brothers (it's always the quiet ones) and I was living for it. The angst, the friendship, the banter. watching Breaker figure out that he does in fact love Lia, cringing with Lia over every mishap with The Beave, all...of...it.
I will immediately be going back and reading Huxley and JPs stories because I love these characters so fricken much that I'm not ready to say goodbye. I really hope Birdy and Penn get a book (even though he's not really a Cane Brother).
Thank you NetGalley and SOURCEBOOKS Bloom Books for the ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.

This was an entertaining, well-written book. It was fun, sweet, charming, steamy, and I couldn't put it down. I enjoyed this book and will look for more books by this author.

I need to begin by explaining that I have not read the other Cane books ( A Not So Meet Cute and So Not Meant To Be). I don’t feel like I missed out on anything by reading this one first- it can absolutely be read as a stand-alone novel. That said, characters from both books do play a large part in this book and I ended up falling in love with them. I have already started Huxley’s story and will be reading JP’s as well.
Now then, let’s get started. I loved the friendship between these two, even if it blurred a lot of lines (you let her sleep in your bed in the past and didn’t realize you loved her?). The story of their meeting at the Secret Scrabble Society, with her just being brutal and him taking it with a smile is hilarious. I love Breaker for the fact that, even though he liked her, the second she said she wanted a friend he decided that that was what he’d be. For ten years. To the point that he thought he had given up those feelings. Seriously, I can’t even imagine. Their taco dates, Password marathons and game nights were adorably charming. I loved their interactions.

A Long Time Coming is the perfect name for this story. Ophelia and Breaker have been best friends for 10 years. They spend a ton of time together and have so much in common. They have never thought of each other as anything other than friends but maybe that might change. What will make them realize that they belong together?
This book is almost two books in one. At the beginning, Ophelia is engaged to Brian. She has to plan her wedding in just 5 weeks and she needs Breaker to help her. I was confused with how the author would handle Ophelia being engaged to someone other than Breaker but it was funny and touching and very romantic. The second part of the story gives readers a chance to see another side to Breaker as he comes to terms with the fact that he is in love with his best friend. He gets a lot different sides in the story including romantic, businessman, brother, and best friend. Ophelia is kind of the same throughout the story. She does make the decision to make friends outside of her friendship with Breaker which I thought was a good story. Her big change is learning to think of Breaker as the man she loves. The side characters add a lot to this story.
If you are looking for a story that will make you laugh and smile give this a try. This is a contemporary friends to lovers story. This can be read as a stand alone story but you'll probably want to read the stories in order since Breaker's brothers play a major role. I will definitely read more from this author in the future.

A Long Time Coming is all about friendship and love. Breaker and Lia have been best friends since they meet back in college. Ten years later, they are closer than ever. Cue in Lia's fiance and terrible soon-to-be mother-in-law and it spells disaster.
This is what I would definitely call a beach read. I was not familiar with Meghan Quinn's work so I was not sure what to expect. This was a fun easy read that I found very enjoyable.
Possible Triggers: Sudden loss and parental loss.
I received a ARC of this book from NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Meghan Quinn knocks it out of the park with 'A Long Time Coming,' the perfect culmination to the Cane Brothers series. This friends-to-lovers tale between Breaker and Lia is an absolute delight, filled with laughter, heart, and the kind of chemistry that has you cheering for love. Breaker and Lia's friendship is the beating heart of the story, and when Lia's engagement sparks a series of wedding planning escapades, the result is a hilarious and heartwarming journey. The characters are so well-crafted that you'll find yourself snort laughing at times and shedding a tear at unexpected poignant moments.
This is absolutely a standout among Meghan Quinn's books!

This book had me hooked! If friends to lovers is your thing, you have to check this one out.
I absolutely adored the relationship between Lia and Breaker, and the witty banter was chefs kiss. An incredibly entertaining and bingeable read.
The turn to lovers was a little intense- and threw me a little with how quickly they dove into that with the personality switches, but still a fantastic read and my heart is still swooning over how much Breaker loves Lia and all the things he said to her, ah! 😍

I LOVED everything about this book. The cover is fantastic!
The Cane brother are pretty amazing each in their own right. I am not sure who is my favorite, I think it will require some rereads. Breaker and Lia, what a rollercoaster. Super nerds, who have a very special place in their hearts for each other, a truly unique friendship, one that is questioned by Breaker's brother's regularly. There is love, and then there is being in love. Some people will never know the difference, others are lucky to and get to experience it all. This book showed all the love, friendship love, brotherly love, acceptance love, I told you so love and then true love. It. Was. Fantastic. I think this is the best friends to lovers book I have read. I had no idea Breaker had it in him, and that was a fun surprise.

So, Lia and Breaker have been best friends since they first met in college, and he had a less-than-savory beard. Ever since they’ve been locked in, two peas in a pod, birds of a feather, and any other proverbs you can think of concerning pairs. Now, Lia has been dating a man named Brian for some time, who proposed, but she’s not wearing the ring because she didn’t want Breaker to find out without her talking to him (see, already messy). Breaker, on the other hand, showed his disdain for Brian long before but supports Lia up until he finds out she’s engaged, and thus the book begins.
I smiled the whole way through, laughed, and downright enjoyed myself. They’re both oblivious and delusional in a way that’s so entertaining. The only other thing that’s stopped this from being five stars is the actual lack of angst. Like angst? They don’t know her. I could’ve done with some razzle dazzle (again, I know people don’t like that trope, but I would’ve ate that up). Other than that, it was amazing, hilarious, and show-stopping. All I can say is that I’m happy for the Scrabble lovers.
