This is a great friends-to-lovers romance featuring a bride and her man of honor. Lia and Breaker have been best friends since meeting in college at a Scrabble club. They bonded instantly and have never looked back. Almost inseparable, they even live next door to one another. It's the kind of friendship where they know each other so well they can even finish one another's sentences. They love their lives just as it is...until Lia's boyfriend unexpectedly proposes and she unexpectedly says yes. Now, things are about to change for Lia and Breaker's friendship.
I laughed so hard reading this book. Lia's future mother-in-law is a nightmare. Breaker steps in to support Lia through the super fast wedding planning process that has been thrust upon her not realizing that the stress he is feeling has more to do with how he really feels for Lia instead of just the upcoming change her marital status. While this is the third in the series, it reads great as a standalone. I enjoyed getting to know Breaker's brothers and their wives. There is real steam to this book but you have to wait awhile since both Lia and Breaker are both dating other people throughout most of the first half, at least. I'm not the biggest fan of this trope, but if that doesn't bother you, you will love this one. This is the first book I have read by Meghan Quinn. I'm super excited to dive into her backlist after enjoying this so much!

Quinn’s writing is unmatched, especially in the steam department. I really enjoyed this book as much as the other two Cane Brother stories and because it dealt with my favorite trope: friends to lovers, I think I loved it the most. I read this in 24 hours…. Quinn does not only a good job flushing/writing out her characters but she nailed the pacing as well. Such a fun read!

A Long Time Coming is the third book in the Cane Brothers series by Meghan Quinn. You can definitely read this as a standalone, as I have not read the first two books in this series and I had no issues.
Breaker and Lia have been best friends since college and while they are each other's person, there has never been anything romantic between them. For the past 10 years they have been there to support one another and have fun together, but that line has never been crossed. Now, Lia is engaged to be married and the wedding is being fast-tracked by the grooms family. Breaker becomes Lia's man of honor and he steps in to help her with wedding planning when it becomes obvious that her soon-to-be mother-in-law is anything but easy to work with. Throughout the process, Breaker has his own epiphany that he is absolutely in love with Lia. Does he make a move? Does he keep his mouth shut?
I enjoyed the relationship that Breaker and Lia had from the beginning. You could tell they had a solid friendship and they could tell one another anything. I found myself rooting for these two from the outset because it was obvious to me they were meant to be together. The chemistry they had was off the charts as well. I am so glad I chose to read this one and it makes me want to go back and read the first two in the series as well!

This book is the third in The Cane Brothers series by Meghan Quinn. Although I hadn’t read the first two, this one was easy to slip into and was quite good as a standalone!
Breaker Cane has been best friends with Ophelia (Lia) since college. Having met as freshman and fellow board gamers they determined early on that they would be the best of friends. They live next to each other, spend a time of time together and really are the best of friends.
Lia announces her engagement to Breaker. Her boyfriend of several years proposed. Breaker cannot stand him but will be happy for Lia’s sake and support her.
Brian’s mother takes over the wedding planning and demands all the decisions are hers and are followed through with our Lia’s approval or even opinion, Breaker steps in.
As Breaker sees not only how her future mother-in-law treats Lia and how little her future husband protects her, Breaker wants more for Lia and is in absolute awe when he realizes he’s the one she should be with.
This is my third friends to lovers book in a row and trust me when I say, this one is perfection! I absolutely love Breaker and Lia’s deep connection as friends and then as lovers. The spice is magnificent and Breaker might just be my new book boyfriend! This a a 4 star read for me, I definitely need to read more from this author!

This is the 3rd book in the Cane brothers series. It was the most perfect friends to lovers trope to start the year!
Billionaire Breaker Cane realizes he’s in love with his best friend Lia. They have been best friends for the last 10 years since starting in college. It isn’t until Lia is engaged to be married that Breaker even realizes it. When Lia asks him to be her man of honor he has no choice but to be there for her.
Breaker and Lia have some off the charts chemistry that was so in sync. There were lots of laughter at loud moments. Breaker had definitely become my favorite brother.
This book was previously published by another publisher but comes out today from Sourcebooks.

A LONG TIME COMING is a friends to lovers, nerds unite romance that I wanted to love, but it was just an okay read for me.
There's not really any romance or falling in love. There's part one (help me plan my wedding!) and then part two is just lots and lots of sex.
I loved the friendship and the nerd-life between Breaker and Lia, but the rest of the story just fell a but flat for me.
I was rooting for this couple to change their relationship from friends to lovers, and when they did the steamy scenes were H-O-T!
But I longed for a bit more story and more romance.
𝗥𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗡𝗚: ⭐️⭐️⭐️
𝗦𝗧𝗘𝗔𝗠 𝗟𝗘𝗩𝗘𝗟: Rated NC-17 / 5+ sex scenes, harsh language. *MIGHT* include props/bondage.
𝗧𝗥𝗜𝗚𝗚𝗘𝗥𝗦: past death of parents
𝗙𝗘𝗘𝗟𝗦: 2/5 - A bit of drama, but still a pretty light read.

This Cane brother left it a little late...
To realize that he's into his best friend, Lia. Like, really into her.
Yep. He's her best man, her man in waiting, her wedding helper and he's crushing on her. Hard. So, he distracts himself with another woman (of course, what an idiot). Lia's fiance is all kinds of shady. There is Beaver drama.
So who will Lia walk down the aisle with?

Breaker and Lia. The last Cane Brother. The brothers we love so much. Much like the first two books, so much banter between the boys. So exciting, so fun.
But Breaker’s story is a bit different. He and Lia have been best friends for many many years, going back to that initial scrabble game. They have been everything to each other, except romance. But when Lia gets engaged to Brian, something isn’t right and they both feel it. But Breaker, being a friend, goes along with Lia, trying not to cause trouble, but it is eating at him. He thinks he will loose his best friend, he thinks Brian isn’t good enough, and that list goes on and on. A problem at work has Breaker taking a break so he spends everyday with Lia helping her with the wedding details. Every day they spend together, those friend feelings get stronger and stronger until realization hits Breaker..he loves Lia, like really really loves Lia, and now he is terrified he is too late to do anything about it.
These stories are so amazing. You can read as a standalone but why would you? Read the first two first so you can get the backstory. They are all great reads, highly entertaining, funny, great banter, and the couples have amazing sizzling chemistry. Highly recommend.

3.5 stars!
This is my first Meghan Quinn book and I'll definitely be on the look out for others when purchasing new books. That being said, I haven't read the other books in this series, but it definitely works as a stand alone as I didn't feel as though I was missing out.
I am a sucker for this trope and loved the way Meghan told this story, it was both cute and funny and I really enjoyed the characters as well! I tend to love a fast paced books and I found this to be a bit slow at times.
Thank you NetGalley and SOURCEBOOKS Bloom Books for the ARC!

Friends to lovers is a very favorite trope of mine. Lia and Breaker are adorable ride or die best friends. The journey from besties to lovers is twisty and curvy and a real treat to read.

Just like every Meghan Quinn book I have read, this one had me laughing out loud. The best friends to lovers trope is so well written. Definitely a slow burn, sometimes I felt a little too slow. But I loved it none the less. Meghan Quinn is the queen of rom-com! Thank you for the opportunity to read this book.

Slow-burn friends-to-lovers romance with no third-act breakup or conflict. I love Breaker and Ophelia (Lia), but, Lord Almighty, it took forever for them to realize their feelings towards each other.
I won't lie, I did not care for the images within the story because, in my mind, Breaker looked completely different, so they threw me out of the story every time one came up. The scenes between Lia and her potential mother-in-law made me cringe a little from second-hand embarrassment but also had me laughing out loud.
I always seem to find myself reading the last or middle story of a standalone series, so I honestly cannot wait to go back and read the other stories involving the other Cane brothers.

After meeting in college at a secret scrabble society, Lia & Breaker immediately become best friends, who are basically inseparable.
Now, years later, Lia is about to marry someone else, which is the catalyst they need to realize how much more they mean to one another.
Breaker Cane is amazing, a humble billionaire and the perfect best friend for Lia. I loved how Lia grew throughout the book, as she figured out what she wanted/needed and how to stand up for that.
Their dynamic & banter was PERFECTION - they were basically already the perfect couple before *actually* becoming one 😍
Book 3 in the Cane brothers series, and my absolute favorite - possibly my favorite Meghan Quinn I've read so far!

This book was hilarious and spicy. I laughed so hard at some points, my kids came to check on me. Others were so spicy I had to pause and take a minute. I had been binging Meghan Quinn and this one, by far, didn't disappoint.

I received this ARC in exchange for my honest review.
This was a fun read! I haven't read the other related books but I definitely am checking them out now!

I've read every book in this series to date plus Untying the Knot, which is Myla and Ryot's story. All of the brothers and their significant others make appearances in this one plus Myla and Ryot, so while you don't necessarily have to read their love stories to understand what's going on, I do recommend it.
That being said, I LOVED this book. The backstory to open up the novel is funny and sweet and you can definitely see why Breaker and Ophelia (Lia) became friends. They are so sweet when they are together and their friend dates are awesome. I can totally buy them being in each other's lives. They are very compatible personality wise and they share similar interests, which is nice to see.
Then we get to present day and we see that Ophelia is engaged and basically from that point on as we get to know her fiancé, we see that while Brian loves her, he may not be her soulmate. I love the slow build up from the engagement to the ending of the book where we see how Ophelia learns to stick up for herself, especially with THE BEAST, who they refer to as Brian's mother. As Breaker helps Ophelia make wedding choices, since he's going to be her man of honor, we, along with Breaker get to see how incompatible Brian actually is with Ophelia, but Ophelia has to come to that realization herself.
I love that Breaker understands Ophelia enough to know that he has to let Ophelia make choices and decisions for herself, even as he realizes in an epiphany that he's in love with her.
And then Ophelia goes to a brunch with Breaker and from that point on, it just amps up to a glorious crescendo of amazing sex, feelings, more angst, and then straight to the finale and it's glorious.
The PINING in this book just made my heart go pitter patter though a lot of it. I think Breaker is actually my favorite of the Cane brothers, because he's so patient and kind and loving and even when he gets to his breaking point, he still gives as much as he can and then when it's time to woo, BOY DOES HE EVER.
This is a must read.
Thanks to Meghan Quinn for the ARC for a review!!!!

This is my first book from Meghan Quinn and it'll definitely not be my last. This reads like a '90s rom-com movie in all the best ways. It's funny and sweet without being corny. I think in the beginning I was impatient for them to get together but as the story progressed I just couldn't put the book down. There's so much joy and love and comedy on every page. I totally recommend this book.

I’ve read this entire series and completely loved it, I think the romance was perfect to read the character development was great. What I liked about the story was that it was also funny and the writing made it easier for me to fly through this book. I definitely recommend to any romance readers who loves a bit a spice with an amazing plot.

Breaker and Lia have been friends since college. For more than ten years, they have been there for each other so when Lia gets engaged, he is tasked with the job of being her ‘man-on-waiting’. However, it seems that Lia’s soon to be mother-in-law’ is evil and her fiancé, not too convinced about our platonic friendship. As the wedding day approaches, both Breaker and Lia are having second thoughts with Breaker realising that he is in love with her. All he must do is convince Lia that her doubts over her fiancé means that she wants to be with him instead.
The wedding of Lia’s seems doomed from the start as her friendship with Breaker is so close that it made her fiancée see superficial. It was so much fun to see Breaker realise his feelings and then struggle to contain them. Likewise, Lia’s realisation that their friendship can turn to something more without the loss of a friendship was sweet. Their chemistry is fairly intense, so readers be warned that their relationship is intense once it goes from friendship to lovers.

My first Meghan Quinn book, and definitely not my last! I was 15% in and I added a whole bunch to my tbr/wishlist because this was just THAT good. The banter was *chef"s kiss*, the chemistry between the MCs was amazing, and I laughed out loud so many times reading this. Breaker is HOT, the way he falls first and falls HARD was just top notch; he's a total goner for Lia, and I loved that. The slow burn was great, I loved that, and when it started to heat up it got spicyyyy and I was here for it! Easy 5 stars!
