I really enjoyed this book!
Lia and Breaker are two best friends and I absolutely LOVED their relationship. Their bedrooms share a wall and they would communicate by knocking on a wall, I mean how cute is that?!
The trouble starts when Lia gets engaged. This engagement stirs up a lot of feelings on both ends.
I loved watching their relationship develop - and man did they have such chemistry and banter!
I really enjoy when authors include art in the book so you can get a clear image of the scene they are creating! The art of the characters was so pretty!
I would definitely recommend this book to those looking for a cute read with these tropes:
*Enemies to lovers
*One bed
Thank you netgalley and SOURCEBOOKS Bloom Books for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I will literally read anything this woman writes. The End.
Also, Breaker is the best Cane brother, I don’t make the rules.

I didn't think it was possible to top Huxley's story, but Breaker came in swinging and knocked him off. I absolutely loved this book. It was so angsty and hot and funny and all the things I love in a romantic comedy. Throw in Erin Mallon and JF Harding in a duet narration and I was in heaven this afternoon listening to Lia and Breaker's story.
The unknown unrequited love trope was simply perfect. Breaker had my heart in a wringer while he dealt with his feelings and truly even before that when we knew he loved her and he didn't. Lia about broke my heart a few times in her relationship with Brian. I wanted to kick that guy's tookus about half a dozen times. Even if Breaker wasn't for her, she deserved so much more than that twat and his evil mother.
I also adored the friendships Lia found with Lottie, Kelsey and crew. It was so sweet and I just loved that for her, she had Breaker as a bestie, but every woman needs another to lean on occasionally.
I'm so sad this series is over, but I can't wait to five unto more Meghan Quinn stories.

This book is so sweet!! I loved the development of Breaker and Lia's relationship from platonic friends into something more. The dual POV made both of them so relatable and it was so sweet to see how close they are. I don't usually love best friends to lovers but I think the author did such an amazing job because they truly only had platonic feelings for each other until a certain moment in the book. There was such a natural progression. I also love how there was no silly conflict at the end because Breaker and Lia actually communicated with each other (especially Breaker, which made me SO happy). I wish there was more of them when they actually got together but I'm hoping there's at least an extended epilogue because all the characters/couples were amazing. I adored seeing how the other couples were doing.
One thing I really love in this series is how Meghan Quinn portrays the brothers' relationships with each other. Even though they like to bicker and laugh at each other, it's so wholesome to see how they support each other and how they all had to help each other fix their relationships in each book. I love the other characters and the support they give each other. This book had the signature Meghan Quinn humor and spice and I'm really hoping we get more glimpses of these characters in other books!

i went through ALLLLLLLLLLLL the emotions. Meghan took me
on a ride and I didn't want to leave these characters! I loved how there are characters from other books that make appearances and I loved the ebb and flow of this book. I was completely consumed. Breaker and Lia have been friends for ages. They have a solid foundation. Then one day, something changes. Soon these two must decide if changing the game is worth the risk. GAH! Breaker is such an amazing guy. At times I found myself laughing out loud and I swooned. A. LOT. Do yourself a favor and grab this book today!

Friends to Lovers, a fav trope of mine! This is the last of the Cane brothers and this book did not disappoint.
Lia and Breaker met 10 years ago in college and have been best friends ever since. Lia is sassy, and funny, saying what’s on her mind. Breaker is a great best friend who’s always there when she needs him.
In the present Lia gets engaged to someone Breaker does not think is good enough for her. At this point Lia gets a bit annoying, not admitting what marrying another man will do to their friendship. You follow along on the, sometimes hilarious, process of planning the wedding.. turns into a slow burn of their relationship.
Overall I really enjoyed the story, 4.5 stars! Thank you to Net Galley for sharing an e-arc in exchange for an honest review.

I love everything about Breaker, the best friends to lovers ever. Love the relationship between the two. Definitely my favorite of the series. And the spice 🥵🥵🥵 perfection! Breaker is in the top ten book boyfriend.

I am a die hard Meghan Quinn fan and this one does not miss! I loved this one. Of the cane brothers, this book is definitely my favorite. I love how the cane brothers are “takes” on romantic comedy classics. I loved reading about beaker and lia falling in love. And I loved how nerdy they both are, it made me smile. Meghan Quinn is the funniest author I’ve ever read, and this book is no exception! If you are wanting to swoon, laugh out loud, and blush- this is the book for you!

A Long Time Coming is another laugh out loud hit by Meghan Quinn. This third installment of the Cane Brothers series will have you giddy with laughter and heating up with anticipation throughout the entire book.

Breaker has been in love with his best friend Lia for years, but it's taken her getting engaged for him to realize it. As she struggles with her future mother-in-law's attempts to take over the wedding, he steps in to help as her man of honor and that's when things get complicated. Is Lia slipping away, or does Breaker have a shot with her?
Friends to lovers is one of my top tropes, but I really struggled with this one for a few reasons. First, the pacing was off. So much of the book was given to the wrong relationships that the right one felt rushed. And second, Breaker spent so long in denial that I actually started to worry that he wasn't going to stop Lia before she made it to the alter. And finally, the miscommunication trope popped up at the really vulnerable moment.
But those things aside, I really enjoyed the dynamic between Breaker and Lia. They were such good friends, really perfect for each other. And I loved the Lia found new friends in her knitting circle. Aside from Breaker and Brian, she really didn't have anyone else, so the book really needed that female friendship.
Overall, I think this book is worth reading.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Long Time Coming by Meghan Quinn is set to release in January 2024! Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher Bloom Books for the ARC. This is book three of the Cane Brothers Series, which I now MUST go back and read!
This book holds a special place in my heart. Friends to lovers is one of my favorite tropes, as it reminds me of my own love story. The banter and wit is this book are to die for!!
This story starts off with Lia and Breaker who have been best friends since college, where they met Because of a secret scrabble club. Lia gets engaged, and breaker agrees to be her man of honor. During the wedding planning process Breaker who has notoriously been single, starts to realize he never settled down because of his connection to Lia.
This starts whirlwind of feelings and one moment during dress shopping changes everything!
I won’t lie there where a portion of the book where I was sooo annoyed with breaker, I was like why the fuck is he being such a dick! But the more I read the more I truly begged for them to have a happy ending!
This book has SMUT, so be prepared! 😅😅

Well dang, I have a new author with a back list to read through and I'm do looking forward to it. This is a fun, sweet, and hot romance between long-term best friends who never considered the possibility of a relationship, and it came together perfectly!

Gah! The wit, banter and swoons in this story were glorious. Breaker and Lia were both such endearing and fantastic characters and I loved their connection and chemistry. I adored them, and I can’t say enough good things about how their relationship evolved. The romance was perfection. It’s an effortless, slow-burning friends to lovers story with the most easy to love hero and heroine. Fun, lighthearted, sexy, and completely entertaining…Meghan Quinn took it to the NEXT LEVEL with this unforgettable romance!

LOVE LOVE LOVE! Friends to lovers brilliance! This book is the perfect combo of sweet, charming, sexy, and funny! I also love the appearances of the previous couples from the series. I honestly don't have much else to say other than I love it!

Steamy scenes that Meghan Quinn is known for, mixed with laughable moments, all rolled into a story of characters we've all grown to love. What more could you ask for? Maybe a 4th book...I'm not tired of those Cane men.
Thanks, NetGalley and the publisher, for providing me with the ARC ebook I read and reviewed. All opinions are my own.

This book was absolutely fantastic!! I don't think the friends to lovers trope could have been executed any better than MQ did it. I am not usually a fan of friends to lovers, but I am a fan of MQ, so obviously I had to read it. This was the perfect finish to this trilogy. Breaker certainly did not disappoint. This was a cute, light read, with a slow burn. I found myself rooting for them the entire time. They were the perfect characters for this trope. Very well written all around. Can we also take a moment o appreciate the new cover?! Ugh! So cute!! Congratulations MQ!! A very special thank you to Netgalley, Bloom, and Meghan Quinn for this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Meghan Quinn does it again! Friends to lovers isn't generally one of my favorite tropes but this really delivered. Breaker is such a fantastic character and I found myself instantly rooting for him. This book made me laugh and it made me swoon. I highly recommend everyone give this book a read.

Out of all the Cane brothers, Breaker is by far my favorite! Oh boy, the mouth on that man...
A Long Time Coming is about Breaker and his long-time best friend Lia who meet when they go to a SSS (Secret Scrabble Society). This story takes place years after college when Lia is getting married to her boyfriend, Douche. Sorry, I mean Brian. Breaker, dealing with having to take some time off work decides to help Lia plan her wedding since it is taking place in 5 short weeks. What Breaker doesn't see coming, is how he would react when he sees Lia in a wedding dress. And what Lia doesn't expect is how much she is realizing she doesn't want her relationship with Breaker to change once she is married. So what happens when you slowly start to figure out that your best friend in the world is also the person you want to spend the rest of your life with? Are Breaker and Lia willing to take that leap of faith and risk their friendship for love?
Meghan Quinn is the queen of romantic comedies. All of her books leave me laughing non stop while also hot as all hell. And boy the fire between Lia and Breaker is STEAMING! The Cane brothers are some of my favorite characters of all time. The mouths on these men, dear lord! Breaker being the youngest and the nerd of the group, you would not expect the words that come out of him but holy crap. YUM!
I would like to thank Meghan Quinn, NetGalley, and Bloom Books for this advanced readers copy in exchange for my honest review of this novel.

This book is aaammmmaaaaazing! I’m a fan of Meghan Quinn generally, but this book? These two main characters? They are phenomenal! Sometimes the best-friends-to-lovers trope can cause me stress, because it’s a little too relatable to how my husband and I got together, and the angst of that struggle is REAL! (It’s all good now, though!!)
I really appreciated how the main characters truly, over ten years, never even dipped their toes into an attraction to one another. Even though it is perfectly evident to the reader, AND all of Breaker’s family/friends, he didn’t even recognize he had romantic feelings for Lia until she’s trying on wedding dresses for a marriage she’s rushing into.
Poor Lia is still trying to adjust to life after her parent’s deaths, so she’s not in control of much. She’s not happy, but is trying to make everyone else happy. One part that I especially loved was when Lia attended brunch with Breaker at his brother’s house. I loved that Breaker’s brothers and their wives all congratulated her on her engagement, even though they all really knew it wasn’t the right move. They were loving and supporting her. Sure, they could have confronted her about it, but I really feel like that would have made her character dig in deeper, and work harder to make her fiancé and his mother happy. Because these people loved Breaker, they loved Lia, and wanted to support her the best they could!
Speaking of her fiancé’s mother. Wow! What a piece of work! If you’ve ever had an ultra-controlling family member, you’ll definitely recognize them in her! When Lia FINALLY stands up to her, and to Brian for never supporting her over his mother, I wanted to cheer!
When Breaker and Lia start to have a more physical relationship (which is HOT, HOT HOT!), I love his tactic to try to keep everything else as regular as possible, so their relationship isn’t really changing that much, they’re just adding love into the mix.
Also, Breaker’s sisters-in-law… what great friends they are to Lia! I loved how openly all the ladies were about their sexual relationships with their husbands. So many people are all hung up about talking about sex. Should some things be private? Sure, but having a couple of great, trusted friends helped Lia sort out a lot of what was missing in her relationship with her fiancé, even though she hadn’t been able to really pinpoint it on her own.
Overall, just a really great book! I appreciated that all the tension in the beginning was NOT about one person pining over another, as romantic feelings weren’t acknowledged until almost half-way through the book. I don’t give many books five stars, but this was definitely a five-star-read!!

A cute ending to a fun trilogy! Breaker and Fern are adorable together. I don’t normally like friends to lovers but this worked so well. My only gripe is that I never felt Ferns relationship with her fiancé to be realistic so there never felt like there was ever going to be a real obstacle to get over.
