I am obsessed with this book and whole trilogy in general! Totally swoon worthy the whole time. Incredibly written!

This is a friends-to-lovers troupe. If you are a MQ fan, you will like this next rom-com installment. This is a Cane brothers book and the interplay between the brothers is one of the best parts. This did originally come out with a different cover so if you are a long time fan you may have already read this one.

Thanks Net Galley and Bloom Books for the temporary ARC to review. The new cover is cute!

Breaker did not disappoint.

I enjoy the friends to lovers trope, and Meghan Quinn executed it magnificently.

A Long Time Coming tells the story of Breaker, the last of the Cane brothers, and his long time friendship with Lia; for whom he is now her man of honor. They start to see each other in a different light during this time, especially Breaker (it was kind of obvious that they both liked each other for a long time...hence the title, but denial is also their best friend).

I loved their dynamic as friends and lovers; they were so cute and fun. It was a bit of a slow burn romance, but I rooted for them so hard! It felt really long though (I was impatient). I love how nerdy Breaker is too. Wedding shenanigans are always chaotic and I feel like the book captures that so well.

Also, I loved seeing all the brothers together, it made my heart feel so full and happy. A great end to the series, I'm giving it 4.5 stars, rounding it to 5!

Thank you so much to Meghan Quinn, Bloom and NetGallery for the ARC, these are my honest thoughts.

A Long Time Coming is the third book in Meghan Quinn's Cane brothers series and features the youngest brother Banner and his best friend Lia. Lia is engaged to a man that Banner dislikes and while he is serving as Lia's man of honor, he realizes that he is in love with her. As with all of Meghan's books, jinx ensues as Lia realizes she is also in love with Banner. Lots of laughs, spicy scenes and cameos from Banner's brothers and their significant others make this a book you won't want to put down.

Oh my god this book. It seriously blew me away. It’s easily my favorite of this series and Breaker is officially my favorite Cane brother.

This book was everything incredible about friends to lovers. The genuine friendship turned unrequited love turned to best friends and lovers. It was seriously such a beautiful story and I just can’t get over how in love with it I am.

I found myself so upset when I’d have to put my kindle down because all I really wanted to do was devour this book. It was so beautifully written. Definitely one of my favorites by Meghan Quinn (and I’ve read most of her books). There was just something so incredibly special about Breaker and Lia’s friendship. Their friendship is one of my favorites I’ve ever read in this trope. It was authentic, genuine, hilarious, and just perfect. Their transition to lovers was done amazingly and I couldn’t have imagined a better progression for them. I absolutely adored Breaker and Lia individually and together. You could just feel both the platonic and romantic love they felt for each other through the page and I was just swept away and consumed by it in the best way. So beautiful.

Okay moving on from the sweet parts. The spice in this book???? HOLY SHIT DUDE. I couldn’t contain my excitement finding out about Mr. Breaker Cane and his spiciness. Like damn… so HOT. And him and Lia together???? Unmatched. This easily had some of my favorite spicy scenes in any book I’ve ever read (and I’ve also read sooooooo many lol).

Meghan Quinn truly nailed this book. It was pure perfection in my eyes and might possibly be my favorite book written by her. It was the absolute perfect way to end this amazing series. I already know I need the illustrated edition of this book because I can only imagine how good those pictures are gonna be.

All in all: absolutely incredible. If you love friends to lovers or are wanting to give the trope a shot, this will be one of my top recommendations because it was just done so well. Meghan Quinn. You’re amazing.

Thanks to Netgalley, Bloombooks and the author for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.
I didn’t know this was third in a series, but I feel like it read well as a standalone. There were some references I missed, but nothing distracting from the story. This was a classic unrequited love/friends to lovers story, told very well. This was a very spicy open door book, so if you tend to clutch pearls, be prepared. I’m definitely interested in reading the rest of the series.

In my Meghan Quinn era. Light, funny, sexy, juuuuuust emotional enough to bring me to tears a couple of times. Generally I’m not a friends to lovers fan, but I was invested in Lia and Breaker. This is a great interconnected series. You don’t technically have to read in order and the brothers all have their draws. I liked this one, I especially go for the ultra nerdy sweetheart with a damn filthy mouth. Perfection.

The third book in the Cane brother's series. Friends-lovers. This story was so cute. All of the Cane brothers are absolute perfection, but Breaker is something else. He had so much love for Lia, and was so supportive/protective of her. I loved this book and series!

Lia is getting married soon and enlisted her best friend Breaker's help to deal with her future-mother-in-law. Unfortunately, he is falling in love with her at the same time....

Love Breaker and Lia. So many funny scenes. So many cute moments. Love the humour and the steam. Breaker is a bit silly but so sweet. Love the swoon and the romance.

Thanks to the publisher for the arc.

Breaker is officially my favorite Cane brother. He's a little nerdy and hot as hell. His best friend is getting married which makes him realize he's in love with her! Will he get the girl?

The spice in this is TOP NOTCH!

Thank you for another great book Meghan Quinn!

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for allowing me to read this arc in exchange for an honest review!

Meghan Quinn’s billionaire rom coms have been nothing short of winners for me (I have given all four five stars). Filled with laugh-out-loud humor, the best chemistry, big romantic gestures and all the feels, these are books you will not want to miss out on.

A Long Time Coming is the fourth standalone romance in her latest series and follows the third Cane brother, Breaker, and his best friend Lia. The two met in college at the secret scrabble society, yes they are nerds, and have been each others person for the past ten years (even their apartments are next door). When Lia gets engaged, she asks Breaker to be her man of honor, needing him by her side as she deals with her future mother in law and plans for a quick engagement, only five weeks. However, along the way, Breaker realizes he is in love with his best friend and only hopes Lia will realize too, that he is the one for her… before it’s too late.

Best friends to lovers is my favorite trope and Lia and Breaker had the most ideal friendship. Since they were so comfortable and truly understood the other, when they crossed the line from friends to something more, they knew how to be open and honest with their feelings. The weddings antics added a ton of humor to the story, and I thought Quinn did a great job with the My Best Friend’s Wedding storyline. Also, while this can be read as a standalone, there are many scenes with the couples form the three previous books and knowing the dynamics between them all before reading this book is worth it. I alternated between reading and listening to this one and have to say Erin Mallon and JF Harding did an amazing job bringing Breaker and Lia’s characters to life. My favorite part was how the dialogue alternated between both of their voices regardless of who’s chapter it was!!

Read if you like:
-best friends to lovers
-forced proximity
-all the spicy
-laught out loud humor
-wedding antics

A Long Time Coming by Meghan Quinn is the third book in the Cane Brothers series. This book follows the story of Beaker Cane, one of the Billionaire Cane brothers, and his college best friend Lia. Beaker realizes he is love with Lia and ends up in quite the predicament since he is helping her plan her wedding to another man.

I thought this was a super cute friends-to-lovers rom com and loved that the characters were a bit geeky. I typically enjoy Meghan Quinn books (she's one of my must-read authors) and I think fans of hers will enjoy this as well!

I love the new cover art!

My favorite in the Cane Brothers trilogy because I am sucker for slow-burn, friends to lovers. Breaker is desperately in love with Lia but doesn't know it yet (regardless of people in his life telling him so). Lia is engaged and set to marry within five weeks and is starting to realize, her fiance may not be for her. I enjoyed Breaker and Lia's relationship, you can tell them know each other inside and out - I mean a decade of friendship will do that to people. I didn't love Lia because she was giving "one of the guys" energy but in the slightly toxic way, not uber toxic way. Breaker was also such a soft boy so I ate that up. This reminded me a lot of my relationship with my fiancée because we were friends for a decade before we got together and had been dating for months without realizing it despite others telling us we were practically a couple. So for realistic creativity, this book gets a full blown 5. But for enjoyment, I would give it and 3.5 because it was about 100 pages too long and the writing, which I am realizing is Quinn's style, was a bit amature - I hate the fourth wall breaks, it takes me out of the moment every time.

Thank you so much NetGalley, Meghan Quinn, and Bloom Books for this amazing ARC in exchange for my honest review!

I don't think I'm going to be able to choose a favorite Cane brother. Breaker is the absolute sweetest and I'm really, really glad that Lia wasn't as dramatic as the other FMC's in the first two books. This was wonderfully written as far as "Friends to Lovers" goes. It was sweet, it was funny, it was romantic, it was spicy. It had all the things! It was a really good book and I'm kinda sad the series is over.

Ok, so I really didn't want this book to end. Why?? Because who doesn't want a real-life hot nerd/BFF to fall in love with??
When Lia and Breaker met in college, it was BFF love at first sight! They bonded over Scrabble and all things nerdy, which totally speaks to my heart.
Erin Mallon is always amazing, and this book was no exception. She gave Lia life and portrayed her exactly as I pictured her in my mind.

JF Harding is perfection as Breaker, the sexy, nerdy, bird loving man who realizes he's in love with his best friend.

Meghan Quinn isn't the queen of romcom for nothing! Her books always make me want to jump into the book and be one of her characters!
If you love best friends to lovers, hot nerds for the male MC, and an endearing female MC, this book is for you!

This book gives me allllll the feels. Best friend wedding - what could go wrong? Being best friends with the opposite sex and have to deal with a crazy mother in law makes things more clear for Lia and Breaker. This book gives you all the feels and makes you think of your best friends.

I’m a sucker for a friends to lovers and this one was done so so well. It’s hard not to fall in love with Breaker, the reliable, nerdy-yet-attractive, best friend. I loved reading flashbacks to the start of his friendship with Lia and seeing how it evolved into more. And the unexpected spice coming from Breaker was *chefs kiss*. Will definitely be adding this to my To Be Re-Read pile!
