This was so good! Breaker might just be my favorite Cane brother. This was a much slower burn than the first two in the series but I still thought it was really good.
Loving the new covers and those illustrations! 🔥🔥
Such a sweet love story about two best friends with some found family elements sprinkled in. Loved it!
Thank you NetGalley and Meghan Quinn!

A fantastic book to close the series. I think Breaker is my favorite Cane brother. I loved his and Lea's friends to lovers story, and the funny/horrifying moments when he's helping her with wedding planning meetings. This was a great wrap up for the three Cane brothers, and I loved seeing Huxley and Lottie and JP and Kelsey a lot in here.

I don’t have a lot to say about this book, and in this case, that’s a good thing!
This book is, I inferred part-way through, the third in a series. That’s okay! Each can be read on its own; Quinn provides enough backstory in an efficient manner, so the reader is not left floundering.
For someone who hasn’t read her books before, or perhaps the other two predecessors: this book goes from zero to ❤️🔥SPICY❤️🔥 with very little warning! I’m not complaining, but it shocked me a bit, as the first half(ish) of the book was so mild in comparison. Definitely open door. I don’t have a problem with that type of writing (AT ALL), but I wasn’t prepared for it! 😅
Overall, an engaging story and worth the read.

This series is one of my all time favorite Meghan Quinn series! And this book is my favorite of the series. This is a friends to lovers. Breaker and Lia met in college and have kept each other in the friend zone until Lia gets engaged and Breaker is the “man of honor”. This book was funny and spicy with great conflict. It gave me all the feels. Huge thanks to Sourcebooks and Netgalley for allowing me to read and review this book!

**SPOILER ALERT **
Thank you Net Galley for giving me a chance to make my first ARC review!
Someone said this would be like reading a modern version of the movie 'My best friend's Wedding' (MBFW) which is somewhat true (except their genders are reversed--where the girl best friend gets married while the guy is the 'maid of honor') . In the movie, Julianne was the 'girl boss' who missed her chance to fess up to her best friend, Breaker does not have a solid plan for Ophelia--he merely wants to keep her in his life, repeatedly denying the fact that he is in love with his best friend. While Ophelia (Who takes the role of Michael) clearly wants her best friend, although not admitting it as well because she is expected to be married to Brian, her long term boyfriend who seemingly can't stand up to his mom. Honestly, no offense but his lack of assertion and his low self-esteem wants to make me hurl. He repeatedly blames Breaker's relationship with Ophelia when it comes to her problem and honestly, the entire time, he gives the impression that he is very very insecure with Breaker. (which is far from Kim's portrayal in MBFW). Im sorry, but Brian doesn't have any much redeeming factors with me as compared to Kim (Besides being rich)--which is why I made the comparison, and it is very clear for the readers to root for Breaker from the start--and I hate how that made the book lack nuance for me. I wanted to be torn between Brian and Breaker while reading the book but I just couldn't see how Brian could be good for Ophelia seeing how he always gaslit her in front of his mom. Breaker is already rich, and good looking, and someone who Ophelia clearly loves. I just dont sense the same kind of love and chemistry with Brian and Ophelia as compared to Kim and Michael from MBBW. They made sense--Brian and Ophelia however, didn't. No offense, Ophelia gives me a headache. I'm sorry but I find her a little bit too needy for my liking. Idk Breaker got weird towards the end for me :( Im sorry but he literally did a 180 wtf is this. This became REALLY weird fast for me. I liked the build up, but I was tempted to DNF the entirety of it after she broke it off with Brian. I kind of wished they made it rather PG-13 to work as a stand alone or *fade into black* bc it had sm potential of being a movie if they delved into characterization. How did this start so good and end so... bad. I've honestly read better fanfiction. Only reason I didn't dnf this bc I wanted to see how it progressed.
I could've predicted this one from a mile away. but I honestly found it hard to read because of the dialogue ( I cringed a LOT on Ophelia's part) but somehow, I couldn't put it down. But yeah, maybe its not for me. Another is that the dialogue makes it seem like its a couple of high schoolers talking or ok, maybe freshmen college students but not grown ADULTS. I swear, this is the kind of convo I used to read in dork diaries back in middle school but I guess, with adult themes. I just couldn't imagine adults talking like this. Build up is slow, but honestly, it could've been done in 400 or so pages :( Don't get me wrong I love slow-burn, but this dragged the heck out).
If there were any redeeming factors of this book though, it would be that I could see this blowing up on Tiktok, and i'd say its at par with Icebreaker lol ;// Not my favorite book as well I wish they just kept it until chapter 13 then straight to the epilogue

The set up to the story of Breaker & Ophelia was everything. I absolutely loved it. I don't know how Meghan Quinn does it, but this series of the Cane Brothers was excellent and I only hope that this isn't the end of their stories. I honestly need more.
Best friends to lovers is usually one that I just stay away from because it's so predictable but not this one.
Please don't over look this book. Go for it. Just like Breaker did!!
I received an ARC for my honest review.

Oh my GOD MY HEART! Are you kidding me right now?! This is the perfect best friends to lovers story EVER! And as someone who had their own personal best-friends to lovers trope work out in their personal life, I feel like I can say as the expert that this is it - Breaker is the bar. And the MOUTH on that boy, good GOD. I loved this whole series and this was just the perfect way to wrap up the Cane brothers’ stories!

4.5⭐, 2.5🌶️
This book taught me that I can love a best friends to lovers romance! Breaker and Lia were hyped up SO MUCH in the first two books and I was READY for this book! And they didn't disappoint! Breaker is such a sweet golden retriever MMC and Lia was so relatable. MQ will ALWAYS give us top notch humor in her romances, and this book is no exception. I cant say enough good things about her as an author to be honest. Definitely recommend this series in total to anyone who likes a saucy rom-com.
ALSO, Special congratulations for another one of MQ's books being traditionally published!
Thank you NetGalley and Sourcebooks Bloom Books for an eARC of A Long Time Coming by Meghan Quinn. This is my honest and free review.

This book gave me everything from the amazing banter that kept me laughing so much. The adorable friendship and possessiveness. I found the characters very relatable and you can’t help but fall in love with them. This is my first book from the series and this author. I definitely want to check out the rest!
“That there is no other choice than to become the greatest friends of all time.”
Lia meets Breaker when she gets invited to a top-secret Scrabble club in college. From the start, they really hit it off and become friends.
Fast forward to ten years later where they are best friends who live right next door to each other and have weekly dinner dates. They spend all their free time with each other. While Breaker is single Lia is in a serious relationship.
“Or your maid of honor…ooo, your man of honor. Or, better yet, man in waiting”
Once Breaker finds out that she’s engaged and plans to get married in five weeks. Not only does he help her with standing up to her mother-in-law. But she slowly discovers that her relationship isn’t as perfect as she thought.
“Uh…I believe I just blessed you hard with holy water.”
The church fire scene had me laughing so hard and loud!😂 So many different moments when the Cane brothers are talking, during the girl time, and wedding planning appointments.
This book will not disappoint and give you a little bit of everything. Completely chef kiss.
That’s exactly why, because why do you need a girlfriend when Lia is all you’ve ever needed.”
When Breaker finally realizes that he’s in love with Lia. He comes up with a plan to show how he feels, that it can be their new normal, and how he’s the best choice.
Thank you, Meghan Quinn, Sourcebooks, Bloom Books, and Netgalley for this EARC! As always, my review is my opinion and thoughts. This review will be shared on my Instagram @Alexandriavwilliams_ shortly.

The premise of this story is one that I typically enjoy; a friends-to-lovers trope coupled with some forbidden romance and a lot of pining.
Lia started off as a sweet and lovable FMC. Her banter with the MMC painted her as a strong, confident woman who wasn't afraid of being herself. But, alas, around 40%, she became the pushover of my nightmares, constantly lying to herself just to keep the peace. Her strength and confidence from earlier chapters seemed to disappear into thin air as soon as the wedding planning started.
Breaker (I'm sorry, but I just can't handle that name) was a great MMC. He was loyal, supportive and as soon as he realized how he felt about Lia, he was completely honest with himself and his family.
What's absolutely bizarre is how couple-y Breaker and Lia acted for years, so much so that it was obvious, yet confusing to their friends and family. It was implausible that neither of them felt a semblance of attraction or chemistry in all those years.
I did appreciate that once he realized how he felt, Breaker didn't hide his feelings from Lia despite her engagement. He let her see him as a viable option and form her own opinion of him. He made her feel safe enough to realize and address her own feelings for him.
The plot and storyline were certainly enjoyable, but I do still feel like there was something missing. Perhaps, Lia's character arc could've been a little more significant, and maybe they could've acknowledged their attraction a little sooner, at least to themselves.

Lia & Breaker. Okayyy.. hands down this was the BEST friends to lovers book that I have ever read. Perfection. I usually don't like friends to lovers trope, but this was so good.
It was sweet and funny. And everything I like about romance books.
Slow burn with a lot of spice. I adored Lia, she had so loving heart, but was also sassy. And Breaker, nerdy and dirty....
Lia and Breaker are college friends and later they live next door apartment. Lia is engaged and Breaker is her man-in-waiting. And in this wedding planning, he discovers that he's in love with her.

"A Long Time Coming" by Meghan Quinn delivers a delightful friends-to-lovers romance that had me hooked from the very beginning. The chemistry between Breaker and Lia is palpable, and Quinn's witty banter adds the perfect touch to their evolving relationship. As Breaker steps up to be Lia's Man of Honor in the face of her impending nuptials to the less-than-desirable Brian, the story takes unexpected turns that had me laughing out loud.
Breaker Cane emerges as a standout character among the Cane brothers, and his journey from a supportive friend to realizing he's madly in love with Lia is both heartwarming and hilarious. The dynamics among the brothers showcase Quinn's skill in crafting engaging and humorous interactions.
The book is a rollercoaster of emotions, and as Breaker navigates his growing feelings for Lia amidst wedding chaos, the reader is taken on a journey filled with laughter, love, and a few surprises. "A Long Time Coming" is a must-read for fans of romantic comedies, offering a perfect blend of humor, romance, and the joy of discovering love where you least expect it.
Very grateful to the publisher for my review copy through NetGalley, opinions are my own.

Loved loved loved Breaker and Lia! Don’t ask me why but I had my expectations pretty low for this one and it blew them away.
I often seem to be drawn to stories with great friendships and this series has them in spades. We already knew and loved the brotherhood between Huxley, JP, & Breaker Cane, but add in Breaker’s decade long friendship with Lia and I was in “I want to be in their friend group” heaven.
As for the love story, well even though “friends to lovers” is a tale as old as time, I felt like Meghan took a different approach that made the story refreshing and hot. The mouth on that man. 🥵

Now this book is more when harry met sally compared to ‘So Not Meant to Be.’ This was friends to lovers excellence. You know it’s going to be good when they’ve been friends for a decade. The pining is so good. I love Lia and Breaker’s relationship so much. Even before they were “officially” friends, they got along like they’ve known each other their whole lives. Lia’s ex-fiance was an asshole and his mother a tyrant. I’m so glad Breaker was there for Lia regardless. I will admit that the pacing of this book was a little slow. I’m not sure if it’s actually like that or if it’s a me thing. Either way, when Lia broke off her engagement with that man and she Breaker finally got together, everything went by fast. Too fast. But they *have* been a long time coming. It was a bitter sweet ending to the Cane Brothers series. This book continues to prove the supremacy of the friends to lovers trope.
Thank you NetGalley for an ARC in exchange for an honest review

Saved the best for last!! The yearning! The smolder! The love! The lust! The waiting and the wanting and the teasing and the teaching! Ugh each brother is better than the last and I can’t get enough of this universe.

I absolutely loved this book. Perfect amounts of wit, hilarity, angst and so much love.
Breaker and Lia have been friends for a decade but things are changing. Lia is now engaged and Breaker is her Man of Honor. Here we see the dynamic of how feelings start to change as the traverse unknown waters. As Breaker helps her with her monster in law and all the wedding plans… both start to realize what’s been in front of them all along.
Can Breaker make Lia see that he is who she should really be with?
Definitely one click this amazing story! You won’t be disappointed.

Friends to lovers is such a special plot. I adore Breaker. I love their relationship. The future MIL of who Lia was going to marry was a grade a B. Breaker has a side to him I never would’ve guessed and I LOVED it (hello bathtub scene). As like any Meghan book, the laugh out loud humor has me hooked (and cackling out loud)

I love this series so much; it has become my favorite of the three.
Lia and Breaker are incredible characters, and the chemistry and tension between them are so obvious.
It's funny how their relationship was basically a full-on romance, but they didn't realize it. The complicity and how well they knew each other were just on point.
And when Breaker finally realized he didn't want to see his girl marry someone else—chef's kiss.
I really liked how their relationship evolved after Lia called off the engagement. I get her fear of opening up. But when she finally allowed herself... that window scene spilled EVERYTHING. Seriously, Breaker, call me.
I love these characters so much, and I'm thrilled they finally got their happy ending.
Thank you so much, NetGalley and Bloom Books for sending me this ARC.

I'll say it once, I'll say it a million times- Meghan Quinn's work ages like fine wine- every book she publishers just gets better and better. Breaker Kane is the dirty talking cinnamon roll of a billionaire every girl wishes she had. This friends/pining for each other trope was played to perfection and watching Breaker try and be the supportive friend during the whole...ya know (don't want to spoil it) was like perfect torture to read. The Kane Brothers are just my favourite and I love the cameo's that come in as part of this story.
This is just the third installment of an excellent series by Quinn- add it to your bookshelf ASAP!

I’ve loved this series. I think this one is the best one. I love friends to lovers and Quinn really does a fantastic job with the trope. You believe the friendship and the love that blooms from it. Plus I couldn’t get enough of the drama haha.
This is also super steamy.
