Ahh this one was so cute and such an easy read! Breaker and Lia are best friends who spend a ton of time together and are a HUGE part of each other's lives. Everything is going great until Lia gets engaged--Breaker begins to realize he may have more than "just" friend feelings for her…

Again, SO GOOD. I loved the writing style and the way the plot unfolded!

Love Meghan Quinn books… the romances are great, the men portrayed are loving and amazing making the woman the centre of their lives. Love these.

Classic Meghan Quinn style, which I thoroughly enjoy. There's nothing that is too extreme- rom com/chic lit 100%. If you like the author's writing style (easy to read, flows smoothly, nice escape from your busy day), this goes along with past books. Not a fan of the cover, but that apparently is the newest trend. Just not my cup of tea. But I'm picky like that!

Everything Meghan Quinn writes makes me so happy! The Cane Brothers have been amazing and I loved everything about Breaker & Lia!

The best of friends for years and never discovering their real feelings. It was wonderful seeing things come full circle.

Recommend the entire series!

Definitely a slow burn!

Lia is a college student in need of a friend. In enters Breaker, the guy who runs with Secret Scramble Society. Moving into present day they are still the best of friends and neighbors. Lia is about to get married and Breaker finally realizes he is in love with her.

Absolutely adorable. I laughed, grinned and blushed. Highly recommend!

Thank you to NetGalley for the copy in exchange for my honest review.

Breaker and Lia have been best friends for years and they spend so much time together it’s insane and I knew from this that it would be a slow burn for these two and I was right. While their friendship is incredible and so strong at times it was hard for me to believe that no feelings of more really hit until now. Breaker is this billionaire that’s so sweet and caring you automatically fall in love with him, and Lia is not your typical girl she had her moments when she was with Breaker that I did like her, yet at times (which was several) I wasn’t a fan. The slow burn for these two seemed like it took forever because Lia is with her fiancé for the majority of the book, and it was said that neither Lia or Breaker felt anything beyond friendship for each other but it all of a sudden happens after 10 years. I enjoyed the banter, the brothers, the story even if at times I wanted to throttle Lia and thought it was a fun and sweet story.

Lia and Breaker have been best friends for 10 years. Now that Lia is engaged, breaker is her Man of Honor, helping her make wedding arrangements and protect her from her future mother-in-law, Mrs Beaver. But as planning progresses, Breaker starts to see that maybe he shouldn’t be helping his best friend like this. Maybe he’d rather be the groom instead.

This is part of a series of books about the Cane brothers, and although the other brothers and their wives were featured in the story, it didn’t feel like I was missing anything by not having read them.

I really liked Breaker and Lia’s chemistry as best friends, which became a natural transition to more. Brian seemed like a boring and uncaring man, so to see how much Breaker was willing to prove to her what she was worth was nice. The roadblocks in the wedding planning were hilarious at times. I especially loved Lia’s rant about the journey of paper!

A fun, funny friends to lovers romance!

Lia and Breaker were best friends for the past ten years. They celebrate everything together, spending time with each other daily. Why then, is Lia afraid to let Breaker know that she is newly engaged and her fiancé wants to seal the deal in the next five weeks?

This book is apparently a part of a series of books about the Cane brothers. I was not aware of this and this was my first book by Quinn. I found it to be a bit mid tier as far as romance books. While the spice level in the book was fun, I felt it lacked a lot of development which is shocking because the book was well over 400 pages. There seemed to be an accelerated time line between Lia and Breaker, which I could understand because they had been friends for so long, but it just seemed so abrupt to go from friends to being obsessed lovers. Not really sure, just know that this one missed the mark for me. I still will likely read the other books in the series, though, because the writing was easy to breeze through.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publishers for an advanced copy of this book. All opinions within this review are my own.

I have been in a book slump and once again Meghan Quinn was able to get me out of it. She tells the littlest Cane Brother's story with Breaker in Book 3, A Long Time Coming.

If you love friends-to-lovers/best friends-to-lovers, you will absolutely eat this book up.

This is not a trope I love so it wasn't for me, however Meghan Quinn's books are for me and so are the Cane Brothers (and how she's integrating the sports aspects into this) and I will continue to read what she writes. I also love the Cane Brothers so i easily needed more of JP (my favorite) and there's lots of him in this book. If anything, this book made me want to go back and start the series again. Meghan also continues to add all the girlies and female friendships here and absolutely love that she embraces them because I as the reader have embraced all the ladies in her story telling.

If you love the friends-to-lovers trope, this will absolutely be for you.

The Cane brothers are back in romcom novel. Lia and Breaker have been the best of friends for a decade. They know everything there is to know about each other. When Lia gets engaged to Brian.. Breaker slow begins to realize he has more than friend feelings for Lia.

Things are moving too quickly for Lia having to plan a wedding in just 4 weeks to appease her snobby future MIL. She begins to realize Brian doesn’t fully know or appreciate her like her best friend does. Is she willing to risk her friendship for something more?

Romance : ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Entertaining ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Spicyness: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Overall this was an adorable best friends to lovers novel

When I recieved this ARC naturally I had to make sure I read all the other Cane brother books! So it took me a little longer than I anticipated to start my ARC . But with that said , wow was this an amazing end to this standalone series .
Breaker is briefly in both of the other books , and he does not disappoint in his own book Breaker and Lia's story! Best Friends to lovers what can go wrong ?! Nothing when it comes to the cane brothers . This book had everything close proximity, steam and of course some Meghan humor sprinkled it is just a fantastic book.

I love Meghan Quinn’s books so much!!! This story is SO PERFECT that I was really really sad once I finish it. I just wanted to read it all over again!
Lia Fairweather-Fern, Breaker Cane best friend, can't get married without some extra help. That's why she's recruited him to take on the snarling beast that's her soon-to-be monster-in-law, Mrs. Beaver. For some reason, the groom's mother seems to have never heard the phrase, "What the bride wants, the bride gets." Lucky for Lia, Breaker has, and he accepts the challenge. After all, how much trouble can one woman cause?
The problem is, with every second her wedding draws closer, he's starting to see her in a different light. She's always been beautiful, but now, he finds himself staring a touch too long, his hand lingering for one more minute, and when she's upset? Allowing her to sleep in his bed. Before he knows it, it hits him like a ton of bricks: he's fallen in love with his best friend. Which means there's only one thing left to do: prove to Lia he's the one she should be with instead.
OMG what an amazing book! It was an addiction; I couldn’t stop reading. I was so invested in the story that the only thing I wanted to do was read. Spend time with these two, laughing, smiling, sighing, shouting to Lia to open her eyes and falling in love with the side character. The Cane brothers are a forth of nature. So funny and sexy!
Everything in this story works perfectly. The timing, the perfect amount of aghast, their friendship that feels real and the groom’s family that we detest in a visceral way that make us all more connected with Breaker plan to win Lia over.
The dialogs are witty, outrageous sometimes and so so funny. This is great writing. And once they are together, SOOOO HOT! I highly recommend it.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Breaker Cain and Lia Fairweather- Fern has been friends since college when she got an invitation to a Scrabble game that was exclusive. Now years later and after many game nights and movies she is getting married but not to Breaker. His brothers can’t figure out why. So instead he is helping her with the planning and trying to run interference with the future mother-in-law, Mrs. Beaver. Things start to go downhill at the church when she catches the veil on fire not on purpose, but later after many late nights she finally breaks it off with her fiance. It still takes some time for the two of them to start dating but when it happens the rest of the rest is special and a very good book. A good read with good characters.

This book was just “meh” for me. I felt like I was reading it because I had to finish it instead of reading it because I wanted to finish it. I can’t quite put my finger on what it was.

A Long Time Coming is a delightful version of the classic trope friends to lovers. I loved the endearing back story of Lia and Breaker and how they met in college as part of a secret game night. This story made the characters relatable by sharing the nuances and traditions that are established with over a decade of friendship. I really came to love these two as friends. Then Lia gets engaged and Breaker comes to the rescue as her personal buffer between her and her to be mother in law from hell. It was fun to see how during the wedding planning both characters realizing they have more that friendship feeling for one another. Neither Lia or Breaker will say anything to the other because they don’t want to ruin their cherished friendship. Then Breaker see Lia in her wedding dress everything changes and their friendship will never be the same. Add in some “I told you so” brother and a circle of feisty females and you have the remarkable story of A Long Time Coming.
