*The Best Worst Man* by Lucy Score is an absolute treat for fans of romantic comedy with a perfect mix of humor, heat, and heart. This book has everything you want in a rom-com—engaging characters, witty banter, and a swoon-worthy romance. The story revolves around Kara, who is trying to escape her complicated feelings for the charming and infuriating Ben, her best friend’s brother. The chemistry between Kara and Ben is electric, and their push-pull dynamic keeps things exciting from start to finish.
Score does an incredible job of making you root for these two, even when they seem to be their own worst enemies. The tension between them is palpable, but it’s the emotional depth and vulnerability that really elevate this book. Both Kara and Ben have their own baggage and personal growth to work through, which makes their eventual connection all the more satisfying.
What I really love about *The Best Worst Man* is how Score combines laugh-out-loud moments with heartfelt scenes that tug at your heartstrings. The supporting characters add a fun layer to the story without overshadowing the main romance, and the plot moves at a perfect pace, keeping the reader hooked.
If you’re looking for a rom-com that’s funny, steamy, and has plenty of emotional payoff, *The Best Worst Man* is an absolute must-read. It’s one of those books that leaves you with a smile on your face and a warm, happy feeling long after you’ve turned the last page.
I loved the sassy heroine. She was a compelling character to following through this fun-filled story. Was the premise ridiculous? Yes. However that is the joy in reading a book that takes you away from the mundane lives we live.
Truly love Lucy Score. The gal can do no wrong in my book; her books are always certified bangers. Silly, fun, steamy -- everything a good romance should be! Few can do over-the-top shenanigans with such deft skill, and her characters both perfectly fill archetype tropes while also elevating them to the next level. Score's romances have become one of my go-to -- and easiest -- handsells in my quiver of recommendations.
Frankie is the maid of honor at her best friend's wedding, and Aiden is the best man. The groom goes missing before the wedding and Frankie and Aiden team up to find him so no one notices the groom has been kidnapped. There's some obvious sexual tension between the two main characters from the start and it's so satisfying. Frankie and Aiden start a romance after the wedding fiasco and I loved every second of it. They were funny, confident with each other, and I just love a strong female character. Frankie made it clear she didn't need a man and could take care of herself and Aiden never backs down from a challenge. Her family was amazing and hilarious, I have a great family but even I was a little jealous of hers. It was a cute, funny, feel good romance with plenty of spice!
Wow! This book starts off so intense it's impossible to put down. Let's not talk about the character development! Lucy Score has a way of capturing you from the very beggining until the end! I loved this book! A must read for sure! A page turner!
I was not a fan of this book. For some reason it felt like a rewrite of many of her others books only in a rushed format.
I think the quips were cute and funny but over all it just was not the book for me.
Oh this was such a good read I love the fast pace of the first half of the book. The laugh out loud comedic romance was top tier. I did find the second half of the book a bit slow but I still enjoyed the overall spice and romance.
Best man and maid of honor have to work together to find the groom after he gets kidnapped! Sparks fly and things get very steamy! This book was honestly so good and funny! The banter between Francesca and Aiden was incredible. Honestly I had a great time while reading this one! It hooked me from the very beginning. I actually was not expecting the ride that this book took me on. I was expecting fluffy and steamy romance, so the mystery aspect of this was a fun twist.
It’s romance, but also a little mystery and it was just so funny! If you’re looking for a good time, a strong FMC who isn’t afraid to stand up for herself and get things done, and great banter pick this one up!
I love Lucy Score but this was just not it! The Worst Best Man is up to now my least favorite book of this author. It's too long for no reason and takes place way after the wedding which makes the title no longer applicable. It also has a big theme of "I'm not like the other girls" which gave me the ick.
I absolutely ADORE everything Lucy Score does. And this book is no exception.
She always has the best combination of romance, humor, spice, and cuteness. I absolutely love everything she writes, including this book. Their chemistry came off the page I loved every page of this book!

I love me a hood Lucy Score book so when I seen The Worst Best Man I jumped on it fast! I love a good strong FMC and Frankie delivered. I also really liked how Aiden after one bad encounter really tried to show up for franky. I really enjoyed their banter.
Now, what made me give it 3 stars was Frankie pushing away a lot and third act break up. Also, Pru is supposed to be Frankie's best friend yet let her bridesmaids talk to her like she was garbage because she wasn't rich. The girl fights a stereotypes weren't it for me.
I LOVED this book, went absolutely feral reading it! I have never been into the rich guy poor girl vibes… BUT Lucy has done this trope phenomenally! Frankie’s character was everything! She was so mean and I was here for it! Lucy Score has done it again but we all know that.
Lucy Score does it again creating a fun romance that pulls the reader in. Score creates another strong and funny heroine with Frankie who like in many of her books contrasts the hero. Score continues to use her unique voice and writing style through out the novel. While there may be your normal romance tropes they are used masterfully to tell the story.
I liked this book and I love Lucy Scores books, I loved the novel and highly recommend to every romantic reader.
As much as I loved our hero Aiden, Frankie’s treatment of him makes her less likeable. The best part of Frankie is her take charge attitude and I loved the way she stands up to people.
Overall though, I loved this story! Frankie’s family is awesome and the romance between our main characters is sweet and spicy. I’ve recently discovered Lucy Score and her books are a great mix of romance and laugh out loud humor.
Thanks to the publisher for a review copy via NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
In my opinion Lucy Score is the most underrated romance writer out there and this book does not disappoint. Perhaps at times a bit far fetched, still lots of fun
oh lucy score. i fear i find it difficult having luck with her books, because they are so stinking long! not to worry though- this one was at cute as they come and i enjoyed every second. it doesn’t do anything mind blowing, but what it does, it does well. her writing is so easy to get into and the steam will always knock your socks off, so i say all in all job well done!
The heroine was my star in this book. Stubborn, unapologetic, sassy, smart, hilarious and, IMO, strong. I didn't support all her decisions and doings, but compared to this typical romantic heroine, who wets her pants and drools over the hero, this one was like a chocolate cake after a long diet.
This was fun. I loved the writing, storyline, characters. Such a fun read.

I will be honest, books like this are what make reading such a joy! This was such a delightful wedding romp that it made me wish I was someone's bestie/maid of honor just so I live out this novel in real time. Highly recommended and every romantic will swoon!
