I received the arc from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.

The first part of this book is a bit chaotic and once they retuned to NYC after the wedding, the story for better.

Frankie isn’t a simpering FMC and I loved it. She’s opinionated, caring, flawed, honest, and open to receiving criticism. I loved how her bros bonded with Aiden and made him feel “normal”.

Just a warning, the main characters friend are AWFUL except Chip and Pru. I’m not sure they qualify as friends but more of acquaintances and they will make you mad.

Thank you for the advance reader copy of this book! Once again Lucy Score delivered the spice! I just love her writing. There was a short time in this book I didn’t like the way it seemed it was going with a very domineering vibe, but things leveled out. Lucy does a great job balancing some sort of chaos in her books with the right amount of love and sex.

I love LS’s books but I couldn’t get into this one- her older ones aren’t as polished and just the dialogue is clunkier - when the MMC refers to her as a stripper/working the pole, I knew the dynamic wasn’t for me.

This was an entertaining read for me. The story revolves around Franchesca Baranski, a strong and sassy Maid of Honor, and Aiden Kilbourn, a successful but commitment-shy businessman. When the groom gets kidnapped, their adventure to rescue him takes unexpected turns. I found Frankie to be a refreshing heroine, unapologetically herself. The book had moments of humor, engaging banter, and a growing attraction between Frankie and Aiden. However, some secondary characters felt one-dimensional and clichéd, which was a drawback. While the story followed some familiar romance tropes, it managed to keep me engaged until the end. Overall, it's an enjoyable romantic escapade with appealing character growth.

Thank you @netgalley and @read_bloom for this ARC!
Another LS book getting a major facelift. She's an oldie but goodie, just got a new and improved cover.
Really cute read, I loved Aiden. I thought he was the perfect grumpy, billionaire boyfriend. Frankie was a bit of a wildcara, sometimes it worked in her tavor, sometimes she was a tad snarky for my liking. But overall, I liked their matching and felt like they even each other out perfectly.
If you like enemies to lovers, billionaire/CEO MMC, best man/MOH romances, then this is a perfect option!

Thank you to NetGalley and Sourcebooks Bloom Books for providing me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review!

Maid of honor, Franchesca, is just trying to survive her best friend’s high society wedding without taking out one of the bridesmaids. Just when she thinks she has everything under control, Best Man Aiden Kilbourn enters the chat and inadvertently throws the entire wedding into complete and utter chaos. Despite their rough start, Frankie and Aiden can’t deny their attraction to one another, and continue to rendezvous when they return home. But Aiden is a billionaire, and Frankie is… not. They live in two entirely different worlds, but Aiden is determined to keep her in his, even if she fights him every step of the way.

The Worst Best Man is typical Lucy Score. It’s not the best romance novel I’ve ever read, but it’s sweet and predictable in a way that I have come to appreciate. Frankie has all the sass and Aiden is the grump romance readers live for. I did feel like there was a bit too much plot happening at once (especially near the beginning), and the pacing was a little off, but it didn’t impact my ability to understand what was going on. Sure, some parts were cringe but let’s be honest, it’s impossible to have a billionaire trope with no cringe. Give her a break. Solidly average but plenty enjoyable.

I have read and liked Lucy Score in the past but "The Worst Best Man" is not her best. There is little back story for the characters. It felt like we joined a story three chapters in and spend a decent amount of time trying to catch up. Trying to figure out why Pru would have the other bridesmaids in her wedding when she doesn't even seem to like them (with good reason) took up way too much of my attention. The whole kidnapping subplot was just odd, and while Frankie and Aiden have mad sexual chemistry, neither of them are very nice to each other in their non-sexual interactions. The supposedly terrible thing Aiden did screamed college and Frankie's hold on it did, too. There was some fun banter, and the steam was great. Overall this book was just not my cup of tea.

2 stars. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for a complimentary ARC of this book. The opinions herein are my own.

as a lover of lucy score, i was really excited to see this arrive on my netgalley shelf. she’s the maid of honour, he’s the ‘worst best man’. it’s enemies to lovers but it honestly wasn’t my favourite.

the beginning grabbed my attention instantly. the banter between frankie and aiden was everything i expected it to be in a lucy score book. however as the story continued on and the relationship between mc’s began to develop, i found it difficult staying fully invested.

at times it felt like so much was happening and then there was 2-4 chapters where it felt like nothing was happening. the pacing just wasn’t it for me but i would still recommend it for somebody looking for something that will keep them entertained.

thank you to netgalley and sourcebooks bloom books for an e-arc!

Aiden and Frankie. Oh so cute..
A tale between the best man and maid of honor..

Frankie and Aiden are both headed to their Bff’s destination wedding. Frankie, knows this weekend has disaster written all it. It is her job to ensure the bride has the best day of her life albeit the very different lifestyle that Frankie knows. Let’s just say Frankie and her bff are no where near in the same tax bracket. Nor is she and anyone else at this wedding. Frankie had to take on a second job, as a waitress, just to pay for the accessories needed for this wedding. Everyone else, well, they poop gold. But Frankie is use to it and she can smile and pretend she belongs in this class group for a few days. Her bff, now in lovey dovey world is determined to marry Frankie off also, and to none other than, Aiden. Aiden, the alpha, beautiful, money bags, cocky, gorgeous, you get the point. She has zero interest in the hunky beautiful man, ok yes he is gorgeous, but no thank you. Frankie tries very hard to stay away from the infuriating man but now Aiden has his eyes set on Frankie and game on. He is intrigued by Frankie and wants to get to know her. He is very accustomed to certain high influencing women and he wants something different. Not for forever, just for one night. But something happens the more they talk, they more they hang around each other, and now one night is not going to be enough. They both have some battles ahead.

Such a fun, entertaining read. You can feel the banter is going to be explosive when it’s time for nighttime fun. And Lucy does not disappoint. I will say the ending was a bit rushed as everything came together but glad to see the revenge lol. I know this is a long one, but it read quicker than expected. Definitely recommend.

I received this book via ARC and am leaving my review voluntarily. Thank You #NetGalley and #Bloombooks

This book was very strange to me. There wasn’t much build up in the beginning to let you connect with the characters before it took a turn and became completely unrealistic and a bit cringy. I tried to keep reading but after finishing a third of the book I just couldn’t handle the nonsense anymore and decided to stop reading. I have read other Lucy Score books and absolutely loved them, but this one just didn’t give me enough time to like the characters before throwing them into crazy town. It just wasn’t the book for me.

I love a good Lucy Score book and this one did not disappoint. Grumpy sunshine and enemies to lovers are two of my favorite tropes and they are perfectly depicted with Aiden and Frankie.

I enjoyed the banter and Frankie’s brothers are funny. Prepare yourself because there is some steamy scenes.

My first lucy score book and not my last lol. Loved the main character who was not like the usual damsel in distress types these books often try to sell. Enjoyable, fun read. I had low expectations going in but had a great time reading!

He is the worst best man.

I think that Aiden was the worst best man. He was very hard to root for.
Frankie is supposedly his opposite and determined to make the wedding go smoothly.
There's a lot going on and its more than a bit chaotic.
It was a bit hard to connect to the main characters.
Re-release.

I love Lucy Score’s writing and this was no exception! Aiden and Frankie couldn’t be more opposite: he’s rich, successful, and stoic, and she’s a struggling student with a smart mouth and strong personality. I loved how Frankie stood up for and was always true to herself, and was willing to be her own hero. The story had drama (kidnapping), spice, communication, and was long enough to really get invested in the story. Highly recommend!!

I love Lucy Score's writing and truly enjoy reading all of her work. This book was not my favorite of her backlist due to not being able to feel as connected to the characters as I have in her other books. I did enjoy the book and would recommend, however the plot seemed to jump around a bit, which lead to confusion.

Honestly I think maybe this author just isn't for me, the book was okay. I just feel unimpressed. However I don't want to deter anyone else from reading this. The story itself was good, I just didn't like the writing style itself

I had so much fun reading Lucy Score’s The Worst Best Man! I can’t imagine how much fun she must’ve had writing it!

We’ve all done the maid of honor thing for our best friend, but are you a deli owners daughter from Brooklyn? Was your best man partner a billionaire from Manhattan?

Every time I read a Lucy Score book I feel as though I know the characters, they seem familiar, I’m pretty convinced I would be really good friends with each and everyone of them. The author has a real knack for making us believe these characters are real.

This was a re-release. I didn't know that so I already read it and really enjoyed it for an adult romance!

I just loved Frankie and Aiden! All the wedding mayhem at the beginning and the chase around the island looking for the groom was hilarious and drew me into the story right away. When things move back to New York, the relationship develops between Frankie and Aiden even though they are from two different worlds. They agree to a temporary arrangement that of course turns into real feelings. I loved the banter between all the characters, and really liked Frankie's family and Aiden's interactions with them. This was a fun book with a feisty heroine and over the top protective hero.

Thank you to NetGalley and Bloom Books for providing the ARC.

I really wanted to like this book, but I didn't. I had a very difficult time connecting with the characters. I think Aiden's personality was very standoffish and I didn't enjoy how to spoke to Frankie most of the time. There were instances where I felt like he was demeaning her or condescending to her that were wrapped up as a "oh he's just a gruff business man with too much to do to have a meaningful relationship" than it was he just being a jerk.

And Frankie felt like whiplash for me. Sometimes she was mad at Aiden for the way he was speaking and the very next second, she was attracted to him. And this was happening within the first few chapters. There was no development, no slowly getting to the point of begrudgingly admitting that the other was not as bad as it seemed before they immediately went to sexual attraction. It was very jarring for me as a reader because I was often left wondering if they were genuinely interested in each other.

Some of the plot devices used were a little over the top for the story that was being told. Sure, wedding hijinks can ensue, but I prefer them to be believable rather than just outlandish. I felt like things got a little too silly for me to suspend disbelief long enough to get fully immersed in the story.

Overall, not my favorite.
