Thank you so much to Netgalley and Sourcebooks for an eARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
This was not my first Lucy Score read so I should not have been surprised at the amazing chemistry, lovable and complex characters, or the heart-wrenching emotional aspect to the love story- yet here I am.
The Worst Best Man is a somewhat (like for a hot second) enemies to lovers that follows fiercely independent Frankie to the wedding of her high society best friend, Pru. While at wedding events Frankie is introduced to Aiden who doesn't do much to encourage a good first impression. They are thrown together during some wedding drama that makes it very hard for them to ignore the chemistry between the two but they just aren't quite sure what acting on it would mean. The book follows these two emotionally stunted hotties as they sort out if it's better to have loved and lost or to keep your heart locked up in a box and hidden away.
Aiden falls first and my man falls hard which is a delight to read. Unfortunately that does have the effect of questioning a lot of Frankie's behaviors but luckily she catches on and you don't have to endure too much.
This book is so fun and was such an easy read for 450 pages. This couple draws you in and makes it hard to put the book down. By the end- I was actually upset that I couldn't spend more time with them.
Lucy Score's writing remains top notch and she will always be my go to for laugh out loud but also make you cry romance.

I’m not usually a fan of billionaire boyfriend tropes but this one works for me. At her best friend's wedding, Francesca (Frankie) Buranski, will do anything to make the bride's day(s) happy. Frankie is Brooklyn born and raised and working on her MBA. Her friend comes more from the upper crust, NYC business set, complete with designer clothes and trust funds. Best man, Aiden Kilbourn, is hot, wealthy, Manhattan’s most eligible bachelor and loving it. He insults Frankie getting off to a rocky start with her. When things occur to disrupt the wedding the two band together to resolve the situation.
This one starts a bit rocky as the wealthy folks are really snotty including Aiden. I settled in and started enjoying the story around the 30 percent mark. From there I was all in. The relationship is steamy quickly. Frankie has to adjust to getting gifts and being treated to high end things. Aiden does great at wanting to meet her family and even hanging out with her brothers. Of course there are others who want the pair apart including his father. I liked that Frankie is the one who comes up with ways by the end to fight for the relationship and their chance to be together.
Score writes longer books. This one is almost 450 pages. I usually take that as a plus as I get more time with the characters. But I could have easily done away with some of the extra fluff in this book. Thank you to Sourcebooks Bloom Books for the ARC via NetGalley. This was originally published in February 2018.

Lucy Score has won me over yet again, I absolutely devour anything by her that I can get my hands on! "The Worst Best Man" is a story that blends humor, heart and a healthy dose of sass. Our backdrop is a wedding party straight out of a nightmare, with characters who are rich, vapid, and most definitely entitled. Aiden Kilbourn (best man) steals the spotlight for the most arrogant with a big attitude and even bigger bank account. Franchesca Baranskie (maid of honor) is determined to handle everything that comes her way and her and Aiden's dynamic sets the stage for battles of wit and attraction. Franchesca, with her Brooklyn sass and unwavering loyalty, is a relatable and lovable heroine. Aiden, the business mogul with a commitment aversion, adds depth to the story as he navigates unexpected emotions. This was a highly enjoyable romantic comedy that delivers on laughs, romance and character development.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC in exchange for my honest review!

I was super worried starting this book that it was only going to be a Hangover-ish story with hijinks and unlikely events that would make me roll my eyes. I am SO happy that I was wrong. Frankie and Aiden meet while doing all of the wedding things for their best friends. They instantly clash but his deeply felt attraction for her keeps him trying harder to get close to her.
I loved their instant connection and heat. I really enjoyed after the wedding when they were back in real life. I liked watching them navigate their differences and family dynamics and even though she was super prickly, I liked watching her grow.
This was a really fun read and I am so glad I stuck it out.

I enjoyed this book so much! The banter was amazing and the romance was top tier. I ate this book up.

Love this new cover for the 2018 story! Much more appealing!
The chemistry between Aiden and Frankie was electric, and the banter was hilarious! Wonderful story!

Frankie, maid of honor for her best friend's wedding, loves just about everyone, except rich, handsome, bachelor best man, Aiden. But after they bond over the groom's kidnapping, there might be much more than just hate between them.
Lucy Score is so good at telling a hilarious love story with rich characters. There was so much here that I liked. First, Frankie was amazing. She's a ball buster who doesn't back down from anyone or anything. She's hard-working and doesn't take handouts. This obviously goes against much of what Aiden wants to do for her. I liked how she skirted the rich society of New York but never really fit in or wanted to fit in. And don't get me started on her family. They were AMAZING.
Now, Aiden is also a favorite for me. He is just so kind and charismatic once you get past his gruff exterior. Them together are a perfect match.
All in all, this is such a good romcom that I didn't want to end!
-enemies to lovers
-He falls first
-Rich boy. poor girl
_NYC
-Wedding
Thank you to the author and publisher for the gifted copy. My reviews are always honest.

Snappy writing, grippy prose, fast pace. Easy three to four stars for the target and five for the right readers.
Thank you to NetGalley and Sourcebooks for the ARC.

in all honestly, i didnt like the fact they were literally in their late 30s/40s but thats a me thing!

I really wanted to enjoy this one after enjoying Scores Christmas story a few months ago but this was rough.
None of the characters were likeable or more than one dimensional. Aiden was garbage, any woman pining after him is an idiot. He’s a manipulative narcissist, not someone you should fall in love with. Frankie was insufferable. The entire story, from characters to plot was a hot mess.
In my opinion, don’t waste your time. Sorry.

4.5⭐️
Lucy Score can do no wrong in my eyes! I love her writing style and the way she brings a story to life. Aiden and Frankie had me cracking up and their banter was my favorite! These two can’t stand each other but have to deal with one another since he is the best man and she is the maid of honor in their best friends wedding. They are forced to work with one another after the groom is kidnapped the day before the wedding. The way these two go at each other and the sexual tension between them was everything! I absolutely loved Frankie! She might not have come from money but that girl is smart, sassy, and witty! She doesn’t take crap from anyone and will put you in your place! Aiden seems like a jerk in the beginning but he is under so much stress with the family business and a crappy family. He really is a sweetheart and I was rooting for him. I did take half a star off because I felt like the story dragged a little in the middle. But otherwise it was perfect!

This was such a feel good book!! I am not usually a fan of enemies to lovers but the build up of these two characters was perfection! Frankie may be one of my favorite characters Lucy has ever written. I also loved Aiden. I loved how we got to see a more vulnerable side of him once him and Frankie got serious about their relationship.

I have enjoyed every book I've read from this author, and I have to say that this one did not disappoint. I absolutely love that this was not an insta-love type of relationship and more an enemies-to-lovers romance. It gave the characters time to get to know each other before they ended up having sex and I seem to enjoy these types of stories more. For me, it makes the story more believable, and I love to see the characters relationship develop. This was a laugh out loud story from beginning to end and I absolutely loved not only Frankie and Aiden, but I also loved Pru and Chip. The back-and-forth banter between all of the characters had me laughing out loud and when it came to Frankie she gave as good as she got especially when it came to the bridesmaids. I think that any reader that enjoys a good romantic comedy romance story will enjoy this standalone book. The main characters are great as well as the side characters, there's friends and family drama, a kidnapping, steamy scenes, laugh out loud moments and a fantastic HEA. I'm definitely looking forward to reading more books from this author and will be recommending this one to book loving family and friends who enjoy a good romance read.

A spicy romance that had me hooked from the start! I can sense that this will undoubtedly earn another well-deserved 5-star rating for Lucy Score.

Loved, loved, loved this book. It was not what I expected. The premise of the best man maid of honour getting together is what I expected. I was thrown in a loop of adventure with the wedding drama, boy was it drama…
It was nice to read about a mature couple. He is the quintessential bachelor and she’s got her foot out the door.
Family drama is a must when one is a Manhattan billionaire and a Brooklyn native. “You can’t take the Brooklyn out of the Baranskis”
Her parents and brothers (loved them) are a typical Europeans family.
This one is a definite recommendation.

NetGalley Review — my rating ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
“The Worst Best Man” by @scorelucy is a fun (and funny!) spicy romance coming out January 16!
Frankie is a sassy, spirited Brooklyn-born who is taking her role of maid of honor to her best friend, Pru, very serious! Aiden is a confident, rich businessman from Manhattan who is the best man to his oldest friend, Chip. They couldn’t be more opposite. What could go wrong?
This book was wild! I definitely expected it to be based more around the wedding that is described above and on the back of the book but it really is only a tiny bit of the novel! I loved just how their story was told! It was much more in-depth than I anticipated.
My only downfall was that it did drag on in a few parts. But the character development really carried me through. Really enjoyed this one!
Big thanks to @read_bloom for the ARC!

This book was so good! Absolutely 💯 loved it. Thanks NetGalley and to the publisher for this. I look forward to reading more from this author.

What a delightful read. Love the heroine with her smart mouth and ballsy attitude. Takes a tough woman to catch the attention of a man who thought he had everything. Some fun twists and turns. Some good humor. Great dialogue.
Could see the black moment coming from a mile away. The hero's family was cliche rich and the heroine's cliche working class, but it worked.
Highly recommend.

Ugh. I’ve read a few of Lucy Score’s books before and generally somewhat enjoyed them, but no part of me enjoyed reading this.
Between the dialogue, the characters, and the plot, I couldn’t tell you which was worst. Stupid details were thrown in there for no reason that had nothing to do with anything. The villains were WAY too over the top, goofy movie villains. Both Aiden and Frankie are terribly toxic and 100% wouldn’t be together in the real world anymore. The sex scenes were embarrassing to read.
I really couldn’t with this one. I wanted to DNF after the first 20% but somehow made it through to the end. Looking back, I wish I stopped reading when I first wanted too. Would’ve saved me a lot of time and brain cells.

Lucy Score’s writing is by far the most exciting to read! I always think I know what to expect with a romantic comedy but Score’s books always surprise me and surpasses my expectations. Worst Best Man is an exciting rom com that any fan of Score’s will love. A destination wedding, a wild wedding party, a Maid of Honor and a Best Man trope. This book is laugh out loud funny with all the romantic feels!
