Snappy writing, grippy prose, fast pace. Easy three to four stars for the target and five for the right readers.
Thank you to NetGalley and Sourcebooks for the ARC.
in all honestly, i didnt like the fact they were literally in their late 30s/40s but thats a me thing!
I really wanted to enjoy this one after enjoying Scores Christmas story a few months ago but this was rough.
None of the characters were likeable or more than one dimensional. Aiden was garbage, any woman pining after him is an idiot. He’s a manipulative narcissist, not someone you should fall in love with. Frankie was insufferable. The entire story, from characters to plot was a hot mess.
In my opinion, don’t waste your time. Sorry.
4.5⭐️
Lucy Score can do no wrong in my eyes! I love her writing style and the way she brings a story to life. Aiden and Frankie had me cracking up and their banter was my favorite! These two can’t stand each other but have to deal with one another since he is the best man and she is the maid of honor in their best friends wedding. They are forced to work with one another after the groom is kidnapped the day before the wedding. The way these two go at each other and the sexual tension between them was everything! I absolutely loved Frankie! She might not have come from money but that girl is smart, sassy, and witty! She doesn’t take crap from anyone and will put you in your place! Aiden seems like a jerk in the beginning but he is under so much stress with the family business and a crappy family. He really is a sweetheart and I was rooting for him. I did take half a star off because I felt like the story dragged a little in the middle. But otherwise it was perfect!
This was such a feel good book!! I am not usually a fan of enemies to lovers but the build up of these two characters was perfection! Frankie may be one of my favorite characters Lucy has ever written. I also loved Aiden. I loved how we got to see a more vulnerable side of him once him and Frankie got serious about their relationship.
I have enjoyed every book I've read from this author, and I have to say that this one did not disappoint. I absolutely love that this was not an insta-love type of relationship and more an enemies-to-lovers romance. It gave the characters time to get to know each other before they ended up having sex and I seem to enjoy these types of stories more. For me, it makes the story more believable, and I love to see the characters relationship develop. This was a laugh out loud story from beginning to end and I absolutely loved not only Frankie and Aiden, but I also loved Pru and Chip. The back-and-forth banter between all of the characters had me laughing out loud and when it came to Frankie she gave as good as she got especially when it came to the bridesmaids. I think that any reader that enjoys a good romantic comedy romance story will enjoy this standalone book. The main characters are great as well as the side characters, there's friends and family drama, a kidnapping, steamy scenes, laugh out loud moments and a fantastic HEA. I'm definitely looking forward to reading more books from this author and will be recommending this one to book loving family and friends who enjoy a good romance read.
A spicy romance that had me hooked from the start! I can sense that this will undoubtedly earn another well-deserved 5-star rating for Lucy Score.
Loved, loved, loved this book. It was not what I expected. The premise of the best man maid of honour getting together is what I expected. I was thrown in a loop of adventure with the wedding drama, boy was it drama…
It was nice to read about a mature couple. He is the quintessential bachelor and she’s got her foot out the door.
Family drama is a must when one is a Manhattan billionaire and a Brooklyn native. “You can’t take the Brooklyn out of the Baranskis”
Her parents and brothers (loved them) are a typical Europeans family.
This one is a definite recommendation.
NetGalley Review — my rating ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
“The Worst Best Man” by @scorelucy is a fun (and funny!) spicy romance coming out January 16!
Frankie is a sassy, spirited Brooklyn-born who is taking her role of maid of honor to her best friend, Pru, very serious! Aiden is a confident, rich businessman from Manhattan who is the best man to his oldest friend, Chip. They couldn’t be more opposite. What could go wrong?
This book was wild! I definitely expected it to be based more around the wedding that is described above and on the back of the book but it really is only a tiny bit of the novel! I loved just how their story was told! It was much more in-depth than I anticipated.
My only downfall was that it did drag on in a few parts. But the character development really carried me through. Really enjoyed this one!
Big thanks to @read_bloom for the ARC!

This book was so good! Absolutely 💯 loved it. Thanks NetGalley and to the publisher for this. I look forward to reading more from this author.
What a delightful read. Love the heroine with her smart mouth and ballsy attitude. Takes a tough woman to catch the attention of a man who thought he had everything. Some fun twists and turns. Some good humor. Great dialogue.
Could see the black moment coming from a mile away. The hero's family was cliche rich and the heroine's cliche working class, but it worked.
Highly recommend.
Ugh. I’ve read a few of Lucy Score’s books before and generally somewhat enjoyed them, but no part of me enjoyed reading this.
Between the dialogue, the characters, and the plot, I couldn’t tell you which was worst. Stupid details were thrown in there for no reason that had nothing to do with anything. The villains were WAY too over the top, goofy movie villains. Both Aiden and Frankie are terribly toxic and 100% wouldn’t be together in the real world anymore. The sex scenes were embarrassing to read.
I really couldn’t with this one. I wanted to DNF after the first 20% but somehow made it through to the end. Looking back, I wish I stopped reading when I first wanted too. Would’ve saved me a lot of time and brain cells.
Lucy Score’s writing is by far the most exciting to read! I always think I know what to expect with a romantic comedy but Score’s books always surprise me and surpasses my expectations. Worst Best Man is an exciting rom com that any fan of Score’s will love. A destination wedding, a wild wedding party, a Maid of Honor and a Best Man trope. This book is laugh out loud funny with all the romantic feels!
this is a fun romance story, not my favorite lucy score but still cute & fun. Frankie is a doll, I love her from the start. she’s such a fiery, passionate friend and person. she’ jumps through every hoop for her friends wedding, and then puts Aiden through the ringer once they establish their little situationship. Aiden was a little hard for me to like, he’s def a morally grey hero, but in a very self-aware way. he doesn’t try to manipulate or hide his intentions with Frankie after their first lil adventure. I love the passion and humor between Frankie & Aiden. and I love how Frankie deals with the obnoxious and entertaining side characters who create so much chaos. over all this book was fun to read,a fast read for me bc, and full of Lucy Score love, spice, humor, and adventure ❤️
thank you for the arc!!!
<b>"I’m going to kiss you,” he warned her. “And then we’re going to go inside and have lunch. And then I’m going to take you home and f*** you.” The thrill rushed over her as he reached for her. “Fine, but no tongue. You know my pants fall off when you do that.” </b>
I LOVED THIS BOOK. It was FUNNY, I laughed out loud more times reading this book than I have in a long time! Frankie was FIRE, she's a sassy take-no-sh!t- brooklyn-ite who really sets the bar on the aforementioned taking of ZERO Sh!t! Aiden a generational billionaire who comes from a ruthless family and takes his responsibilities very seriously. What could they possibly have in common? Their friends. And they are getting married! As luck would have it, he is the best man and her the maid of honor and while I think they probably could have at least gotten along long enough to get through the wedding, Aiden has an open mouth insert foot moment that sets the tone for their situationship.
As I read the first part, no, the entire book I was sitting here thinking, Am I really reading a Lucy Score book right now? This book is so different from all of her other books that I have read. The same basic ingredients are there, great plot, lots of wit, some sexy scenes and a bit of tomfoolery. This book grabbed me from page one and did not let me put it down until I finished. There was no slow burn here!
Frankie's family had me rolling and the socialite behavior had me consistently rolling my eyes. But Frankie handled herself so well, her sharp wit was perfect counterpart to the snobby high society people that Aiden dealt with his whole life.
I loved seeing them fight for each other and watched their relationship blossom.
Definitely don't miss out on this book!
Lucy Score is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors. Her writing style draws me in and I don't want to stop reading until I finish the book. The banter, friendships, and spice in her books are usually exactly what I am looking for.
Frankie is thrilled to be the maid of honor at her best friend Pru's wedding, even if she has taken a second job to be able to pay for everything that goes with a society wedding. She adores Pru and Chip but the rest of the wedding are typical society types and she wants nothing to do with them. The best man, Aiden, instantly insults her and her being from Brooklyn and of course they keep getting thrown together. When a crisis occurs that may derail the wedding Frankie is determined to fix it, but Aiden wants to solve it himself. Sparks fly and challenges are issued. Can they get over their own baggage to let the other in?
This was so much fun! I read it in a day.
This book was just overall OK for me- there are better written books by this author for sure. Lots of chaos, but I didn't mind all of the additional side characters.
Another cute story by Lucy Score. The redesign of the cover makes it a lot more enticing to read. She is always on my TBR list.

This is a refresh and republish of a book by Lucy Score. The Worst Best Man is a standalone enemies to lovers spicy billionaire romance. In true Lucy Score fashion, the characters and relationships are perfection.
Frankie Baranski is not from this world. Maid of Honour at her best friends wedding at a posh resort in the Bahamas she’s barely getting through without punching one of these annoying socialites.
Aiden Kilbourn is the best man and the most sought after bachelor in New York. After meeting the brash, straight shooting and gorgeous maid of honour, he decides he must have her, even for a night.
Frankie thinks now that they have returned home, Aiden will just be a one night stand in her rear view mirror but he has other ideas.
She doesn’t belong in his world and he’s starting to realize he can’t live without her. The story was a little chaotic at the beginning, understanding all of the players and connections but I really did love Frankie and Aiden’s story. This was a 4 star read for me with a good amount of spice! If you haven’t read this yet, it needs to be added to your tbr!

This book was smart, funny, and left me feeling happy after it was over. I loved how Frankie was always true to herself and always acted like who she was. Aiden was a strong man and strong enough to handle her. I loved them together. This book was sexy and they were a fun couple to read and follow their story.
