I got through "The Worst Best Man" by Lucy Score rather quickly. I find her books are ones you don't want to put down, even if you're not totally entranced by them. This book felt similar and familiar to several of her other novels, but I understand this is a rerelease and likely came first. Still, it speaks to a bigger issue that all of her stories are... sort of similar?? This is an enemies-to-lovers story about the best man and the maid of honor at their best friends' wedding. They have always disliked each other, but slowly but surely begin falling for one another despite their very different backgrounds (he's a billionaire, she is not). Lucy Score knows how to write spice, and those scenes are very effective here. Main characters Frankie and Aiden have terrific banter and chemistry with one another. Their mutual loathing eventually turns into tender, loving, sweet moments where they understand each other on a different level. While I mostly liked this book, there's A LOT of stuff going on here. Several storylines do not need to be there and are a bit ill-fitting. This makes the narrative feel disjointed and way too long. Lucy Score's books are *always* way too long, in my opinion. This book has the potential to be VERY triggering to people with an ED/who are in recovery for ED as there is a lot of talk about weight, shaming, and even name-calling... it felt very anti-fat at times. It's also very anti-woman at times, pitting characters against one another. In fact, I am not realizing as I write this that this whole story is very, very judgy. All of the characters, all of their personalities.... very judgmental.

This is my first Lucy Score book. I see this one is a re-release assuming since she was picked up by a publisher. I love the cover. It's just so pretty! And the idea of the story sounded fun and was bound to be amusing. I was right!
This is a light hearted enemies to lovers trope with some mystery and thrill woven into. the pages! The pacing is fast and furious. The situations are entertaining. And the burn between the FMC and MMC is delicious.
Frankie is a smart mouthed, independent woman who doesn't take talk from anyone! I love her spunk. She's driven and developed to show what she will do to go after what she wants. But she's also loyal and will do just about anything for those she loves. Aiden is cocky and closed off. Though I found these traits to be something he's built to keep others out. He doesn't find himself worthy of love, or doesn't have time for it. But Frankie changes that for him.
Score really made this story fun and lighthearted. I did struggle a bit with some of the plot moves she decided to make. I felt like she took what could have been the underlying fun of the story with the first plot line and resolved it way too quickly. And she definitely had some stereotypes I didn't necessarily agree with, though I understood her need to weave this into the story line for some characters in order to show sharp contrast.
Overall it was entertaining and I'd pick up another book from this author. Since this is an earlier work, I can only assume her writing has gotten better and her story lines have become tighter

Lucy Score strikes again. Another quick, spicy, and romantic story. I fell in love with all the characters and story line. Short quick chapters made this book fly bye.

Lucy score does it again , amazing story, fun and sweet. Definitely enjoyed a lot this set up . The tension on this two off the roof. Loved the enemies to lovers and wow fun . This was awesome

Lucy Score rules the world of developing angsty men who need some tough love, but know how to throw in some spice. The Worst Best Man will have you rooting for the underdog (Frankie) who has the strong will and smarts to make something of herself and make your heart clench for the “bad boy” (Aiden) as he learns how to open his heart. Starting the story off with a little kidnapping drama, throw in some fun friends, and crazy supportive brothers, and you get a fun, funny, and flirty read that is easily bingable.

Another incredible story by Lucy!
Epic location wedding gone a-rye, the groom is kidnapped and the maid of honor is to the rescue.
A grumpy sunshine best man who's a gazillionaire!! The story's so filled with suspense and fun adding a sassy fierce female MC, what's not to love? Bet you can't put this one down because you'll be too engrossed.

Such a fantastic book! Just when I was ready to mourn over “the ending”, a new story developed. I couldn’t put this book down. The characters were enjoyable and the bridesmaids’ personalities were hilarious!

The Worst Best Man by Lucy Score offers a delightful blend of humor, romance, and wedding chaos. The bride and groom may be picture perfect, but the wedding party is an absolutely hilarious assortment of characters. With its engaging storyline and sharp dialogue, this book is a must read for lighthearted romantic comedy lovers!

Thank you to NetGalley and the Publisher for a ARC of this book.
Lucy Score is one of my favorite authors and when I was given an opportunity to read and review another one of her books, I was very excited. The Worst Best Man didn’t disappoint. This story was funny, had drama, and romance. There were good guys and bad guys. It really had it all. I loved Frankie’s personality. She is a strong woman who doesn’t take no for an answer. She fights for who she loves and what she believes in. Aiden knows what he wants and is cut throat to get it. The two of them take a chance on each other and sparks fly no matter how hard Frankie tries to stop it due to her fears of his world.

I love that I’ve been given an excuse this year to revisit a few of Lucy Score’s books that I’d read some time ago as they’re being published by Bloom. I tend to forget details about books shortly after I read them, but if I enjoyed them, I remember how they made me feel. It’s been like reading something new with satisfaction guaranteed.
I love Frankie as a character. She’s bold, she speaks her mind, and she stands up for herself. She’s also loyal to her best friend, Pru. She doesn’t feel like she fits in her world, but she shows up for her every time and works tirelessly to be there for her. Frankie also shows a lot of growth throughout the book with Aiden. She takes a good look at herself and what she’s been holding back, and she makes the changes she sees are needed. She’s frustrating in her stubbornness and self-preservation at times, but she’s real.
Aiden starts off appearing as a shallow, competitive, “I only want what I can’t have” driven man. Sure, he’s hot, but he gives only-in-it-for-the-chase vibes. That quickly changes when he finally catches Frankie and his whole perspective changes. He’s actually revealed to care quite deeply, he’s just never had an opportunity to show it outside of throwing money at people and things. I love the dynamic of the relationship he and Frankie create together, and at their hearts they are a lot more alike than different.
Because it’s a Lucy Score book, of course there are some wild, off-the-wall moments, like Pru’s groom being kidnapped the night before the wedding and the hijinks Aiden and Frankie go through to rescue him. It’s a total Lucy way of throwing the two of them into a unique forced proximity situation early in the book. It’s ridiculous, but it’s fun. Also guaranteed from a Lucy book: spicy, spicy spice. The woman knows how to write some electric chemistry.

Lucy Score’s writing just has this pull on you from the start. And she completely pulls you into these characters lives, feelings and emotions.
An adorable, swoony, just wonderfully entertaining read.
Everything this author writes is just pure magic!
Thank You NetGalley and Bloom Books for your generosity and gifting me a copy of this amazing eARC!

Lucy Score has quickly risen in the ranks of my favorite romance writers. Her books are witty, pee-your-pants hilarious, spicy, and swoony...this book was no exception. While the characters were not my favorite of hers, I appreciated how independent and spunky Franchesca was. Aiden was just okay as a main male character. Overall, good for a quick romcom read.

The worst best man. A romp between a billionaire and a Brooklyn girl. Fun and sexy this is the weekend read. We need

I had the opportunity to review this one and it was an absolute pleasure!
The playful banter in this enemies to lovers is so enjoyable. I found myself smiling or laughing while reading this one.
The romance is spot on and Lucy does what Lucy does and she does it perfectly! This book doesn't disappoint! It is hands down one of my favorites that she's written!

Franchesca is my kind of girl. She’s a smart-mouthed girl from Brooklyn and she tames the most eligible bachelor! From the first moment they met he couldn’t get her out of his head. I loved her family. The chemistry between Aiden & Frankie was out of this world. Can’t wait to read more from Lucy Score!
Thank you NetGalley and Bloom Books for the arc of this book.

Loved this book! Lucy Score is so good at writing books that feel like the best rom com movies. You'll laugh, cry, and fall in love with the characters over the course of the book. And her FMC's are always so relatable!

loved this enemies to lovers and loved that they were friends of the bride and groom. loved the romance and that they worked as a team and finally found each other. loved her brothers

This story was certainly an enjoyable one, and I was drawn in by the premise. And while Lucy Score's stories are usually a hit or miss for me, I have always enjoyed her writing style!
Frankie certainly started off as a likable FMC, devoted to her best friend's happiness, fond of her family and fiercely protective of those around her.
Aiden was the atypical billionaire MMC. While most would veer mysterious, he was refreshingly open and honest about his feelings and limitations, albeit on one specific subject, but I'll get back to that.
They start off as proverbial "enemies", bound together by their best friends who are getting married. Aiden is clearly jaded and cynical about love, and Frankie gives him a run for his money with her witty comebacks.
Their "relationship" really takes off when the groom, Chip, is kidnapped. And unfortunately, this is where Frankie's character took a turn for the worse, at least in my opinion. It was almost as if protective and loyal Frankie just disappeared, and in her wake was left the untrusting, skeptic that Aiden for some weird reason decided to put up with. She could not see past their surface level differences, and continued to use them as excuses to keep him at arm's length.
Even when they finally agreed to go "all in" on their relationship, she still held onto her preconceived notions and had one foot out the door. The last straw for me is when she blew up at Aiden when she found out what he'd been keeping from her all those years. And the best/worst part is, no one but Frankie was offended by it, because it had happened so many years ago. She used his mistake against him and pushed him away for good.
Of course, this is a rom-com, so they finally figured sh*t out and got back together. But, I would argue that she didn't deserve Aiden. He'd been devoted, loyal and had stood by her despite all of the backlash and opposition that came with it. All she'd done was keep him at arm's length and doubt his every move. But, I digress.
The one person who had them figured out was Pru. Seriously, she should win an award for being the only person that truly called Frankie out on her sh*t. She was the most realistic character, and in many ways, the most likable.
3 ⭐️ because while the storyline was quite interesting, Frankie was not.

I love this story! It's the perfect blend of wonderful character development, witty banter, humor, and heat.
This is the story of Frankie, who is from Brooklyn, working on her MBA and working extra jobs to pay for the expenses in her best friend, Pru's destination wedding. While there, she meets the best man, Aiden, who is a most eligible billionaire who drives her crazy. But then she sees Chip, the groom being kidnapped, and she and Aiden work together to find him. This begins the amazing banter and connection between these two.
This story pulled me in and didn't let go. I also love how Lucy Score adds in real issues and how both genders should handle them so seamlessly. It is a definite buy now. I highly recommend it.

Yet another wonderful book from Score. This book is a hilarious adventure between Aiden and Frankie. Frankie is the MC everyone loves. Strong willed, funny. and a bit of a mouth on. Aiden is your swoonworthy billionaire. I love the banter between the two characters, and hope Aiden was open about what he wanted.
