Frankie is the strong, smart-mouthed, quick witted best friend we all love and want beside us. She will NOT let anything or anyone ruin her best friend's wedding including the rich best man, Aiden.
Aiden has never done long-term relationships. No one has ever held his attention more than a couple months. He was so used to dating the prim and proper, superficial women that Frankie and her smart-mouth was such a huge challenge to him. They end up spending time together to make sure nothing stops their best friend's wedding from happening and sparks fly but not without some bumps in the road.
It's a spicy romance you don't wanna miss out on reading.
Thank you Lucy Score, SOURCEBOOKS Bloom Books, and Netgalley for the ARC!

Sometimes you just need a good romance book where neither character is looking for love! Having never read anything by Lucy Score (obviously I’ve been living under a rock) I was surprisingly charmed by this story. Just enough spice, laughter and romance to make it a good read for me!

This was pure perfection and had everything I want in a romance! This even had an extended epilogue! I was hooked by the very first encounter and couldn’t stop reading. I love these two characters so much, especially all the banter!

Frankie and Aiden's book is a lot of laughs and lighthearted fun. You will laugh out loud, you will root for Aiden to win Frankie's heart and you will turn these pages fast to get to their HEA. Aiden has never met anyone like Frankie, someone who doesn't care who he is, or how much money lines his pocket. And even know that about her doesn't stop her from defending him from the worst of his family. Frankie shows Aiden love in a way that he's never seen before and watching their love story unfold was so much fun!

This is my Third Lucy Score book. I love her writing. However there are some tropes she does better in different books and series. This one was good however. I feel Knockemount had the whole enemies to lovers and fake dating done the best.

I enjoy Lucy Score. Like her Knockemout books, The Worst Best Man has great banter, good spicy scenes, and a nice romance. Also like the Knockemout books, it’s a little longer than it needs to be. I liked this book. It just isn’t a favorite. It should be noted that this book is a rerelease with a new cover, not a new or updated story. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for sending this book for review consideration.

The Worst Best Man by Lucy Score
Rating: ⭐⭐⭐ (3 stars)
Alright, diving into Lucy Score's "The Worst Best Man" was quite the journey, to say the least. While I found myself enamored by certain elements, there were aspects that left me scratching my head.
Let's kick things off with Frankie. Oh, Frankie! She's the kind of protagonist that lights up the pages with her wit and spunk. Every time the narrative veered towards chaotic territory, Frankie's sharp humor acted like a beacon, pulling me back in. Her vibrant personality and relatable quirks made her not just likeable, but downright lovable. Score truly nailed her character, giving readers a strong anchor amidst the book's tumultuous waters.
However, speaking of tumultuous, the pacing of this novel was, well, a rollercoaster. Imagine trying to keep track of ten different storylines in a span of 400 pages—that's precisely how it felt. While I'm all for keeping readers engaged, there's a fine line between a riveting plot and an overwhelming one. The sheer number of events, twists, and turns left little room for the story to breathe. I often found myself wishing for a more measured approach, allowing key moments to unfold organically rather than being rushed.
Now, shifting gears to romance, I've got to hand it to Score—the billionaire trope was well-executed. The magnetic pull between Frankie and Aiden was palpable, sprinkled with moments of tension, tenderness, and undeniable chemistry. These moments provided a welcome respite from the book's frenetic pace, offering readers a glimpse into a passionate and complex relationship.
Yet, for all its romantic allure, the main storyline felt somewhat disjointed. Amidst the whirlwind of events, the core narrative seemed to lose its footing, leaving me wanting more depth and cohesion. While individual scenes sparkled with emotion and intrigue, tying them together into a cohesive story proved challenging.
And let's not forget that ending. Now, I'm all for whirlwind romances, but Frankie and Aiden's rapid trajectory from dating to marriage left me a tad bewildered. In a narrative already brimming with events, their accelerated relationship timeline felt like a shortcut, robbing readers of a more nuanced exploration of their love story.
I just reviewed The Worst Best Man by Lucy Score. #NetGalley

I love Lucy Score, but she’s still a relatively new-to-me author. Her Knockemout series was the first books of hers I ever read, and I’m not up to date on other books she’s written. So, the past several times I’ve requested her books from NetGalley, I thought they were new releases, but it turns out they’re just rereleases with brand new covers, which has been kind of disappointing. The Worst Best Man was a good story, and I liked Frankie and Aiden, but I wouldn’t say it’s one of my favorites. The plot is decent, and (as with every Lucy Score book) there’s lots of sexual tension and spice, but I’m ready for something that’s NEW. Overall, I would still recommend this book, but it will probably be the last Lucy Score book I request from NetGalley until she has an actual brand new release.

I enjoyed The Worst Best Man, but I didn't go crazy for it. It is longer than I expected and it felt like two books in one. The crazy destination wedding vibes gave way to a billionaire romance. The epilogue managed to bring it full circle right at the end, but I was still left feeling like there was an defining line between the first half and second half of the book. It would have been stronger (in my opinion) if it felt like one cohesive book.
If you like billionaire romances, this book is for you.

This book had all kinds of stuff going on, it was like 2 books in one! Kidnapping, rich b&^ch attitude, romance, spice without being dirrrrrty, lavish lifestyles, normal Jane lifestyles and a great building of a romance. I enjoy when the characters do real talk with each other. When you get to see their flaws but also the truly amazing parts of their selves. When they can rationally work through the little thing called life. I really enjoyed this book. It seems there are some mixed reviews but if Frankie and Aide's story continued, I would be all in :)
Lucy Score is a new to me author that I was introduced to this year, not sorry about that :)
Thank you #Netgalley for allowing me the opportunity to read and review this title.

This romance had me smiling. It was smart and funny. I laughed out loud several times. Lots of feels.

The Worst Best Man is yet another great novel by the fantastic Lucy Score! Strong, sassy FMC Frankie is such a feisty character and her banter with sweet Aiden, the MMC, is just hysterical! Lucy Score’s ability to illuminate a plot and bring it to life is nothing short of amazing. Highly recommend this hilarious, swoon-worthy romcom!

Loved Frankie from page one. This book was hysterical, sexy, romantic, all the things we expect from this author !

I just love a good Lucy Score novel! She knows how to tell a great not friends but not really enemies to lovers story with every ounce of finesse that makes the book hard to put down. From the beginning I was rooting for Frankie and Aiden to finally figure out that they were perfect for each other. They met at a friend's wedding, realizing that there was chemistry and some spice they couldn't resist temptation. After coming back to NY Frankie seems to think she doesn't fit into Aiden's millionaire world but he doesn't feel that way at all. He decides to change his ways and commit to her and hoped she will do the same. I can understand that Frankie felt as though her and Aiden's lives didn't quite fit (especially with others saying that). Even though she is a very strong willed woman it still bothered her. However, after a good talking to by her friend she realizes maybe she's not been forthcoming with her feelings and should be all in just like Aiden was.
I think that this story was cute with lots of spice! The storyline was well paced and made it hard to put the book down. I was so happy to see a strong female character and a male character that really let her shine, not wanting to change her at all. I would definitely recommend this book to those who like a quick read romance with spice! I've read many Lucy Score books and while this isn't my absolute favorite it was still a great book!
Thanks to NetGalley, Source Books Bloom Books and Lucy Score for allowing me to review this ARC!

This is a reread for me. I read this originally when it was published in 2018. I have been a longtime fan of Lucy’s. It hits just like it did 5 years ago 👏🏼 👏🏼

My favorite thing about this book was how consistent Frankie was in being herself. Frankie and Aiden obviously come from different worlds but instead of changing for each other, they just made it work while keeping their own personalities. I love that she was unapologetic, funny, and stubborn, and she always knew how to get to Aiden. However, I did get a little annoyed at how much she tried pushing him away though. Aiden was a good mmc. He showed that he cared and he made an effort to prove how committed he was in their relationship. Though the conflict at the end was a little silly and could have been resolved with some communication, Aiden was sweet and charming.
My main struggle with this book was the plot for the first half of the book. I thought the whole wedding kidnapping thing was a bit odd and it felt random. But once we get through all that, it was a fun story to follow along to. I also wish Elliot's character was a bit more fleshed out. Since we don't really get much information about him (or even Aiden's background), I didn't really care much when it came to this. Overall though, this was a simple and sweet story!

While I was fully prepared to see this book as a cute little romance I did not enjoy the misogynistic way the women were written. I completely understand that rich people do act and behave in different ways and I think that you can have rich people shown negatively but simply showing every single woman as a dumb stupid rich bitch was unnecessary and it felt targeted only towards the women. The beginning wedding really made this book unbearable and I kept reading but the actual story between the main characters did NOT make up for this, they are boring and unrealistic and just not my style.

I saw the beautiful updated cover art for The Worst Best Man by Lucy Score and read the glowing reviews and thought for sure I would love this book…but sadly, I did not love it. I normally like a good enemies to lovers and dual POV story, but I honestly had a hard time finishing this one. The first and second halves of the book felt like two totally different stories. And despite the catchy premise, the actual storyline just fell flat for me. The dialogue and characters were all lacking the substance and maturity that I like to see in a book.

Lucy Score is an amazing world-builder and I love all her books. I get sucked into the world and don't want to leave. This book was a really quick and exciting read.
