"Come Find Me In The Midnight Sun" deserves every one of its 5 stars. Right from the start, it enveloped me in those captivating Nordic Noir vibes, akin to watching the show "The Killing." The narrative brilliantly unfolds from a police perspective, and the atmospheric moody tone is so notable, it's like a character in itself. Admittedly, the slower pacing at the beginning had me slightly concerned, but as I delved deeper into the story, I found myself completely engrossed, and the author's clever plotting more than made up for it.

The way the author subverts your expectations about the 'what's, who's, and why's' is a masterstroke. They lead you down a twisting, enigmatic path, and the revelations are nothing short of breathtaking. This story is meticulously crafted, leaving me eagerly hoping for more from this author, even if it doesn't end on a traditional cliffhanger.

The writing style is impeccable, with descriptions so vivid that the story feels like it's leaping off the pages. The attention to detail is remarkable, painting a rich and immersive world. And while the romantic element is subtly woven into the narrative, it takes a backseat to the gripping mystery. Trying to piece together the puzzle was an absolute joy, and this is a true-blue, enjoyable mystery that keeps you hooked from start to finish.

This is a must-read for anyone who loves a well-crafted, moody mystery that'll keep you up all night. Once you start, you won't be able to put it down until you reach that satisfying end. Kudos to the author for a brilliant literary experience!

An intriguing murder mystery. Young men (more than usually expected) are disappearing. Louisa Linebach and Michael Harper are teamed up to investigate the disappearance of one young man. A headless body is found which could be the missing man but it is difficult to confirm (this is set prior to the use of DNA becoming common practice). Their investigation takes them further afield and they discover more young men have gone missing. This leads them to the possibility that a powerful man in the community may be involved. The story is well written and keeps your attention. Louisa has some personal hang ups that could interfere with her investigation along with poor people skills.
There is a little bit of romance between Louisa and the coroner but not much so don’t read if you’re looking for anything hot and heavy.
The story went quite well but the ending was rather unresolved. I am assuming there may be a sequel but perhaps not. The implication of the outcome was there.
