I love this book! I'm big into sports romance and this did not disappoint! I love the chemistry. This was my first Julie Capulet book but I will for sure keep my eyes out for any future books to come. Thank you for the opportunity to review this book! I love a good star player/coaches daughter romance :)
The Insta love story between the coach's daughter and star quarterback? SAY NO MORE!!
Elias and Zara's love story is beautiful. Their tension and connection were terrific and the other characters (particularly Jake, Gabe and West) were gorgeous. This book is written well and has everything I look for in a book.
-Forbidden Romance
-Sports Romance
-College Sport Romance
I loved this Book!
Thank you to Booksiren and NetGalley for this amazing ARC read!!!!
Loved this book. It was a great race & a nice fast pace.
Also love a good love at first sight moments, and no 3rd act break up.
This is a super cute romance.
Totally recommend this book
Oh my gosh, this book was so cute. I'm talking grinning, giggling, kicking my feet up into the air cute. It is such a fun love at first sight, forbidden sports romance. I loved both main characters so much. Zara is an artistic freshman heading to college in all her young and fresh naïveté. She is also the football coach's youngest daughter. Elias the the start quarterback of on of the country's top college football teams, and a former player who has been restless for months, not understanding why the girls at school no longer interest him.
But here's the thing: Zara's dad has one rule: Don't date a football player.
Coach has one rule: Don't even look at his daughter.
Rules were always meant to be broken though, weren't they?
It's a fun, quick read, and the spice was also good.
My first ever Julie Capulet book and I absolutely devoured it. Literally. I read this in one day and have absolutely no regrets.
I loved the forbidden romance. This was by no means, a slow burn and I really am a sucker for the love at first sight books. This was written so well, I honestly could not put it down. I adored Zara and the way she came off as super shy but still radiated confidence when she needed it most. And Elias and his filthy mouth, oh my.
The only thing I didn’t enjoy was the way the conflict was resolved so quickly, I generally like to be on the edge of my chair, yelling & screaming at the characters to get their crap together.
The rest of the book has literally no complaints from me, it was so sweet and I loved the characters and that Zara acquired a found family.
Well where do I start? I’m not normally a fan of instalove but I instantly fell in love with this book. The background given on all the characters and the world building was so captivating. I couldn’t put it down. What a fantastic book! Will definitely recommend to others and can’t wait to read hopeless romantic.
Thank you for allowing me to read the ARC.
This is my first book by the author but definitely not my last.
This is about Elias (star quarterback) and Zara (artist). It’s set in college and is a slight age gap with him being a senior and her a freshman. He’s very experienced and she’s not. It’s also a bit insta-love. Elias is tired of the one night stand scene and the minute he sees Zara he’s taken with her. Watching these two was adorable and I really liked Elias. It’s an instalove done right, in my opinion; and is a really good time. Definitely recommend giving this one a read!
I loved this book. I flew through it so fast. Elias O'Shea 🥵 if you don't like insta love then this book is not for you but I love the whole love at first sight story. From their parents having that instant connection to them finding that in each other as well. I also hope we get an Isla and Jake book. This is a he falls first and hard. I adore how much he cares and does for her.
I am not often a lover of instant love romances and enjoy the build up but I really enjoyed all the words of affirmation and reassurances throughout.
A well written steamy romance with great characters and dialogue.
I am really hoping that this is a series and I can add this to my top interconnected romance series.
a 3.5 rounded down for me.
I thought that this book had a really good storyline and some well developed and personable characters and I really enjoyed getting to know them.
The book was one about love at first sight and can it happen – well you will just have to read the book to find out!
It was a fun story, quick paced and a romantic and very sexy story.
It is 4 stars from me for this one – very highly recommended!
MY HEART…I am usually not a fan of insta love stories but this one right here has meeee. The words of affirmation and constant reassurance was everything to me
Zara is the Hawthorn coaches' daughter and now is her time to break away. Her dad is very protective. Zara is off to college, even if it is only 3 minutes from her family home. She is following her dreams and doing art. Zara's sister is encouraging her to have fun but footballers are also off limits for Zara. Rule number one! But her roommate's brother is on the college team.
Elias is the starting quarterback for Hawthorn and is going places. Everyone says that he is going to be high in the draft for the NFL. And this year is his year! He is at the top of his game but something has changed. Elias is usually a playboy but none of his past quick relationships mean anything. He is a romantic. He believes in love at first sight. And then he meets Zara.
What about rule number one? What will Elias do to get Zara's attention? Will they be able to be together?
This was a great story. Elias falling for Zara is beautiful. He is absolutely a romantic and I love it. Zara is a gorgeous free spirit with Elias is a dedicated planner. I am a real sucker for a sports romance and this also had a lovely college feel. Add the family and found family (roommate and football team), and it makes a gorgeous allrounder.
Big thanks to NetGalley and Julie Capulet for this early release copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.
ARC Review of Lovestruck by Julie Capulet

A college, sporty, forbidden love and obsessive romance between a football star and his coach's artistic daughter! Spicy!
Elias has lost interest in most things lately. Specifically the opposite sex. He's all about the game now...until in walks a paint-covered beauty. She makes his heart race. She makes him feel things he has never felt before. He wants to know ever freckle, every hair, every smile.
Only there was only one problem...her father just happens to be the his coach.
A man who sees Elias as nothing more than someone on his team and if Zara was to get tangled up with him, Elias would be off the team so fast.
Can Zara really let herself fall for Elias knowing the consequences?
Filled with drama! Filled with steamy goodness! 5 stars and loving the energy that comes from this author!
Zara feels the connection but Elias is 100% open in his need. It is funny watching all Elias's team mates get flustered when Elias starts to fall for Zara so quickly and tell him it is a bad idea. Elias has his own struggles also, and they hit when Zara needs him most. They are adorable and sweet and sexy! Another great read from Julie Capulet!
I really wanted to like this, but I felt like this trope has been done 100 times and this book didn't bring anything new to it. I found both characters highly unexciting and the instalove aspect felt forced.
Sweet, cute and fun this book had me hooked from the first chapter I loved the characters and there development I love a man who knows what he wants and won’t stop till he gets it this is a must read.
“4.5 stars!”
A fantastic ‘he fell first’ college sports romance as Elias, the star quarterback of the Hawthorn Wildcats takes one look and falls hard, fast and obsessively for Zara, his coach’s daughter. This was the girl he wanted and nothing and no one was going to get in his way. After all she was the mother of his future children.
Love Struck was a quick and easy read with plenty of steam between the hero and heroine and no cheating. Perhaps there was a bit of a double standard going on in that Elias had week and truly sown his wild oats throughout his college years while Zara has barely kissed a boy before and had caught Elias’s eye within hours of arriving at college but books like this are an escape from reality and not to be taken too seriously. After all what girl hasn’t dreamt of a man falling head over heels obsessively in love with her and who’ll do anything for her. With a great cast of secondary characters, hopefully it won’t be too long until we return to Hawthorn University.
I enjoyed this book it is enjoyable and fun to read. The character development was good and they were complex and multi-dimensional which I really liked. If you like steamy reads this is a must read for sure.
Obsession at first sight. Insta-love hits the star quarterback who is totally off limits to the coach's daughter, and there it begins. A rollercoaster of back and forth and a guy who is close to stalking, although only a danger to himself. For fans of total infatuation winning the day, definitely go for this one.
I think this book is great! The beginning caught my attention immediately. However, I do feel there should be more conflict between the two characters getting together. Instead of the characters becoming intimate right away, Zara should have stopped because of her thoughts about her dad being the quarterbacks coach. Otherwise, I think it’s great!
Lovestruck is a standalone novel by Julie Capulet.
Elias O’Shea is a senior at Hawthorne University, and he’s the star quarterback. He’s basically a celebrity on campus. All the girls wanted him, or more accurately, they wanted to sleep with him and he gladly obliged. He had countless one night stands, earning himself a reputation. But for the past six months, he just hasn’t been into it. The girls throwing themselves at him just didn’t pique his interest, and he no longer hooked up with them. He’s been thinking more and more about his parents’ relationship. Once they saw each other, they just knew that they were the one for each other, and that’s what he wants too.
Zara Fox is leaving home to go to college, though she isn’t going far. She is attending Hawthorne University as an incoming freshman and majoring in art. She’s not one to go out much, and she has a very close relationship with her dad, which is why she didn’t want to go to college too far away. Her dad loves football and just so happens to be the coach for the university’s team. His one rule for her? Don’t date any football players. Being that she’s shy and doesn’t much care for football, she believes that will be an easy rule to follow. But once she meets Elias…well, she ends up breaking his rule.
Wow, this was truly an insta love book. I mean, there’s usually the characters seeing each other and loving each other instantly, but they still hold back a little before getting to the “I love you”. But this? Nope. No hesitation, especially on Elias’s part. Once he saw Zara, that was it for him. He knew nothing about her, not even her name. It was truly as if he had been struck by Cupid’s arrow. In fact, he was crazy in love with her. Literally, he seemed to be out of control of his actions when it came to her because he just wanted to be with her, regardless of any consequences.
While Zara was a little hesitant when it came to Elias, it wasn’t because of him. It was more so because she knew how her father would react. But she did give in to her feelings, and she eventually stood up for herself. Also, she became more confident and brave with her artwork because of Elias.
I will say that I thought it was odd how fast Elias got over something that he had to go home for. I thought he would be more distraught, but he didn’t really seem to grieve. It was as if he had a one-track mind and could only think of Zara. I guess it made sense as she was always on his mind, but I still thought he’d at least be a little more upset.
Anyway, I really enjoyed Elias and Zara’s story, and I normally don’t like insta love. I thought they were so cute together, and both of them had parents with a similar love story, so they both wanted that instant and undeniable love. This was my first book by Julie Capulet, but it won’t be the last.
