This is Cole and Paige’s story.
Paige is a feisty, free spirit, who leads guest activities at a luxury resort, where Cole is the numbers guy and is assistant director at the resort. These two know how to push each other’s buttons, and on the day that Cole has been ordered to fire Paige, a hurricane hits the Caribbean.
This is a well written story which opposites attract, close proximity, action, enemies / lovers, emotions, humor, witty banter, combustible chemistry, engaging and realistic characters, drama, passion, and love, which leads to an entertaining, fun, unpredictable, light-hearted, and steamy addictive page turner.
I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

I’ve been a fan of RS Grey’s writing for years. She writes some of the best inner monologues filled with realistic & hilarious self deprecating humor. While I didn’t love this one compared to her other work, I enjoyed my time here.

Their Last Resort is marketed as an enemies to lovers romance when really it’s more of a mutual “I like you & I don’t know what to do about it, so I’m going to nettle you instead.” This worked for me, especially since it’s clear that he falls first & is just bidding his time.

I’m always up for a destination setting & I love a romance set at a hotel / inn, so a resort set on Turks and Caicos really did it for me. The forced proximity brought on by a hurricane worked & I loved the only one bed tension that followed.

The timeline bounced around a bit at the beginning that left me occasionally confused & having to go back to reread. This is also fairly short which is great as it makes this a quick read, but the romance felt like it was lacking the depth Rachel usually brings leaving me not as connected with the characters.

I listened to this on audio & you can too if you have KU or snagged this as an Amazon first read in April. I loved the narrators & was able to finish this in only one day!

R.S. Grey consistently provides the perfect escape whenever I crave a book that seamlessly blends humor, fast-paced storytelling, and excellent writing. "Their Last Resort" was no different—it was thoroughly enjoyable.

Paige Young and Cole Clark, the main characters, embraced a friendship that they had been feuding upon their very first encounter. It oscillated between exquisite banter and entertaining quarrels to heated scenes embossed with unvoiced feelings and toe-curling chemistry. all in all, it was the prefect and most adequate refuge— plate-cleanser— after my last heavy, disappointing read.

many thanks to Grey’s Promotion and NetGalley for providing an arc in exhausting for an honest review.

Thank you Netgalley and R.S. Grey for this book in exchange for my honest review!

I flew through this book! I can always count on a R.S. Grey book to be filled with amazing banter, characters that have depth, steamy scenes and a beautiful ending and this book was no different. I loved Paige and her friend group as well as Cole’s rule following and sometimes uptight personality. Cole’s character was strong and it was cool to see his bravery unfold. Although I enjoyed this book, it felt a bit repetitive of other books by this author but I also know what I’m getting when I pick up one of her books!

You’d like this book if you like:
•just one bed
•enemies to lovers
•opposites attract
•frenemies
•tropical settings (Turks and Caicos)
•banter, chemistry and steam

Paige Young embraces adventure and new experiences, so when the chance arises to work in paradise, she seizes it eagerly. Settling into life on the picturesque island of Turks and Caicos, she finds herself immersed in the vibrant atmosphere of Siesta Playa, a luxurious resort where she oversees guest activities and hospitality.

Despite the idyllic setting, Paige's daily routine is disrupted by her tumultuous relationship with Cole Clark, the assistant director of operations. From their initial clash to a memorable but unacknowledged kiss, their dynamic is characterized by rivalry and tension. Paige thrives on spontaneity and fun, while Cole is a disciplined workaholic, adhering strictly to rules and routines.

Their constant bickering and opposing personalities make them unlikely allies, yet circumstances force them to spend more time together. As they navigate unexpected challenges, will they finally confront the underlying feelings buried beneath their animosity?

"Their Last Resort" by R.S. Grey is a captivating beach romance filled with simmering chemistry and irresistible banter. The slow-burn narrative explores themes of rivals-turned-lovers and opposites attracting, delivering a delightful and flirtatious read that kept me thoroughly entertained.

*3.5

I liked the book once they were actually together. A lot of the book was kind of boring though. I think we needed a bit more of Cole's pov. I've read another book by this author and I really liked it so I'll just look out for the next one.

I received an arc from grey's promotion.

I’m a huge RS Grey fan, but this book, while fun, fell a bit flat for me. It did have its cute and funny moments, but felt a bit chaotic at times. I did like Cole, our mmc, but there were just silly and unrealistic happenings at the resort. I feel like a Turks and Caicos would have some pretty upscale resorts. The Preppers? That was a strange addition.
Anyway, this would be a quick book to read at the beach or the pool.

I love an RS Grey novel, so I was excited to jump into this one. I loved the island vibe and the setting of a hotel where we get to see all the ins and outs of the day to day running it along side Paige and Cole. I loved the personality differences, and the side characters of the other staff members. The banter was always fresh and funny, a signature of RS Grey that always has me coming back. I will say, the pacing of this one felt slightly off. There was a lot of tension and build up and then I felt like it was over too soon. But that is sort of how a slow burn is supposed to go, and slow burn this was!

I really liked Cole’s character a lot. I wish we got a few more chapters from his POV. Paige was alright, but very immature. Maybe because I am 40, I might be further removed from the dating in my 20s, but it just seemed to me that she made some very rash/emotional decisions and was immature overall.

Another thing that bothered me was the way the villain was portrayed in this story. He should have just been a slimy character in action, but the main thing that was focused on in ever encounter with him was his eating habits and his weight. It was almost like all villains are known to be overweight or something? I don’t know, it rubbed me the wrong way. I have never been offended by anything from this author previously, so I hope this character was a one off.

Bottom Line: Overall, it was a fun read to kick off summer! I had a hard time putting it down, and finished it in less than 24 hours.

Just ok. 2.5 stars generously rounded up.

I wasn't as in love with this book as I wanted to be. The premise was cute, enemies to lovers storyline and the beautiful setting of Turks and Caicos (well, except for the hurricane). I like the author's writing style, plenty of sarcasm and off the cuff humor thrown in, but I wasn't enamored with Paige. She alternates between thinking (and sometimes saying) some pretty rude things to Cole, even though he is her boss, and having daydreams about him. He has a ton a patience with her and wants to preserve her job (not that she knows this, at first).

Once a hurricane forces them to be in close proximity without escape for a couple of days, they start to acknowledge feelings...finally out loud instead of just spoken in their heads. Like I say, it was an ok romance and I would read another by this author, but this wasn't a favorite.

Thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this book, but my opinions are my own.

This book was a cute and light summer read.
I loved the two main characters the opposites truly do attract. The banter was top tier!! I’ve read books by this author before and I will continue to.

If you are looking for a fun, entertaining read and like me you love slow burn, enemies to lovers romances look no further than Paige Young and Cole Clark’s story in Their Last Resort. This book was everything I expected and so much more, it was witty and funny and it has characters you can’t help bonding with.
Paige and Cole are complete opposites, she loves her job at a luxury resort in the Turks and Caicos organising games and things for the guests to do while he spends his days crunching numbers. But he is also the assistant director at the resort so it’s his job to hire and fire and it’s seems Paige is about to be fired just before a hurricane hits their slice of paradise. What follows S an entertaining, easy to read romantic comedy as these two come to terms wth their feelings.

Their Last Resort by R.S. Grey is the story of Paige Young and Cole Clark. Paige likes adventures and is very creative. So she puts her all in her job at the island resort in Turks and Caicos. Cole is a numbers guy who stays behind a desk while he works at that resort too. They are totally different but they are finding their common ground. Enjoyed this book,

I think I just read my new favorite R.S. Grey book. And in typical Macy fashion, my only complaint is that I want more. I need a full 8 book series of Cole and Paige's life together in Turks and Caicos (or traveling around the world and working at various destination hotels).

This writing is witty and emotional and just plain fun. I feel like R.S. Grey's has me wrapped around her writing finger. Sometimes, I'll read a passage and it just sounds like something my inner monologue would say so it's like she's sitting on my subconscious and marking it up with a pen. (Does that make sense? Am I just rambling? Will probably have to go back and edit this one when I'm not on a book high, I think.)

Cole and Paige are textbook enemies to lovers and it works so well. There's a bit of adventure and tension due to the hurricane and the whole bit about working at a luxury hotel, but also their banter is top notch. I'm not even sorry for gushing about this book so much. I loved it.

If you are new to R.S. Grey's books (welcome my friend), I know her backlist is a little daunting because she has so many publications, but this is a great place to start. Plus, this book is on Kindle Unlimited so what do you have to lose? Nothing. That's what.

Tropes: enemies to lovers, forced proximity, mutual pining, workplace romance, found family, opposites attract, and dual POV.

Their Last Resort was a quick, workplace rivals romp. It definitely gave me The Hating Game vibes. I enjoyed the slowburn element of the story and I also really enjoyed Cole. At times Paige seemed a little over the top in her goofiness at times, but I felt like overall she and Cole balanced each other out well. If you're looking for a cute, quirky, quick read, give this one a go!

Thank you PR for the ARC.

I read a review that said that Paige has "pick-me-girl" energy, and I couldn't agree more!
The way the author paints Cole in a less-than way, bc he is an accountant manager, wears suits, is "stuck indoors performing his number-crunching desk job", has a "five-year plan. It’s color coded and leather bound." Can we stop that? There is nothing wrong about being working an office job, being by the book and having a five-year plan.
R.S.Grey's heroines come across as the most immature FMCs I've ever read about - characters who are supposed to be adults. Case in point, they kiss, she flees, and when he says "last night never happened", she gets hurt. I mean, OK for the getting hurt part, but if you run away from someone after you kiss them, can you blame them for their reaction? Come on.
This was already not going well, so imagine my shock at this sentence:
“Imagine if he accidentally booked a flight to Syria. He’d be bartending for ISIS right now . . .”
Not only is it of poor taste, but what a completely idiotic statement to reduce a country to this. Syria is culturally rich: cuisine, music, literature. Some people need to remove their head out of their ass and take a look around. How did a casual remark like this go through editing?
This is where I dnf.

ARC thorugh Netgalley. All opinions are my own.

This was a cute and funny quick paced story. I liked how the plot progressed and how the characters were written.

Ok, this book was so darn sweet! I loved the banter between the characters, I adored Paige and Cole was just PURE perfection, they are hilarious though. This is an enemies to lovers trope but then again they both have feelings???? its hard to describe but its a speed read, the chemistry is THERE with these two, and its a perfect before-summer read.

Thanks Netgalley and the publishers for giving me the opportunity to read this book.

Romantic, funny and utterly consuming, Their Last Resort was everything I had hoped for, and so much more. I adored Cole and Paige’s story, their banter is absolutely on point and their chemistry is exquisite perfection. RS Grey is an automatic must read for me, and this book proves why!

This was a very fun read. There’s a great sense of humour running through the book, R.S. Grey’s turn of phrase is very amusing. The romance also has a really lovely edge to it; whilst there is good chemistry and sexual tension in it my favourite thing was how soft the relationship between them is. The mutual pining is just delicious, and there were lots of touching little moments which showed how deeply they cared about each other, as well as scenes where they laugh and joke together. It gave a really good grounding to their relationship beyond just physical attraction and I loved that about this book.

However, the hurricane aspect of this book felt a little underwhelming and, based off the description, actually occurred a little late for me in the book. I also thought the pacing in general was a little off; there were parts of the book that felt quite fast and then the ending felt quite dragged out.

Still, it didn’t impact my overall enjoyment of the book too much. It was a very solid romcom - funny and fluffy with a really cute and sexy romance. I enjoyed it a lot and would recommend it to anyone looking for a light, fluffy, forced proximity romance with some good mutual pining. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for providing a free copy of this book.

Content Notes: Natural disaster (hurricane, flooding). on-page sex, unprotected sex.

This book had me smiling from beginning to end. I really enjoyed this slow burn romance with a good balance of sweetness, funny moments and a great setting in Turks and Caicos. Highly recommend, especially if you need a break from angst books with extremely likeable characters and a fun plot behind the scenes of a tropical resort.
